Semi expensive, but the amenities are outstanding looking. VA drops 10.00 off 55, when we hit 62, it will drop another 10.00. You get to freeze twice a year for a month for extended absences. There is a nice look drink/shake bar. Pool is open year around and heated even though its outside. Sauna, didn't check out yet, hot tub outside as well.

Run by high school staff. Parents live in Lufkin and pay for 3 memberships, two of which are not used often. Came in to do a quick workout while in town for business/see my parents. Something I have done for years while visiting town. This time I was told to leave or pay a $35 day pass. No reasoning or other options were given and worker was rude. Went to Anytime Fitness for a $12 day pass instead. F.I.F.T.H Quarter Performance also has $20 day passes. Quality gyms in vacation towns don’t even charge $35 for a day pass. Thats insane.

The women's locker room is almost always clean, no mess in showers, floors kept clean and dry. Bathrooms are well maintained. The staff are very friendly and helpful when needed. The pool has only been foggy once in two years. Sauna and spa are also kept cleaned and maintained. Can't ever remember a time when I couldn't use any of the machines. Just a friendly, well maintained, clean environment!

Most gym for your dollar. There are several fitness facilities in Lufkin, ranging from your standard Planet Fitness to niche locations. None of them offer as many amenities as Livewell for the membership fee.

The staff is courteous and overwhelming majority certified personal trainers. They're constantly monitoring equipment and if there is a deficiency, they fix it in a timely manner.

The only issue is the quality of the outdoor track. However, they make up for it with the indoor track, classes, various specialty rooms, pool, pickle ball, basketball, and tennis courts, outdoor gym, and other aspects.

Livewell is easily the best athletic club and gym in East Texas! If I could give this place ten stars I easily would! They have super friendly staff shout out to Max and they also have state of the art equipment from the gym equipment to the pool everything is the very best. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

I've been attending the "Shapes" workout class for a while now, and I can honestly say it's been a game-changer for me. Not only has it significantly improved my balance, but it's also helped me maintain my overall health and fitness. The workouts are challenging yet achievable, and I've noticed a real transformation in my body — it's becoming more toned and stronger with each session.

I joined Livewell Athletic Club the 2nd week of January 2025 and have been nothing but impressed! The staff, the fitness instructors, and the personal trainers are amazing. I love that Livewell offers classes such as Les Milles Shapes, Body Pump, and Body Combat. I go to the gym everyday and the hours of operation are perfect as well. I have had nothing but positive experiences! I’ve also lost 13 pounds now and lots of inches!

They rip ya off with the rates. I travel for work, and they charge a high rate for a day pass. One attendant said the pass is good for a whole 24 hours, and the other says something else. Plus it's pretty dirty and the actual weight room is small. The gym is not meant for any one other than house wives

Fees when you sign up, fees when you cancel, oh and then you cancel and they still charge you…this place is already overpriced ($45 a month) but man they suck as a business as well. Would never recommend anyone get a membership here. Go to planet fitness or build your own gym.

I have been to many good clubs and gyms in many states. I love livewell. When I moved here last year I toured every gym in the area, and it has the most amenities and options. It has most any machine, free standing power racks, squat racks, flat barbell racks, incline barbell rack. Additionally it’s the only gym in area that dumbbells go up to 175lbs. I believe pizza planet fitness went up to 65? and no barbells. Additionally not to mention 4 stair masters. Indoor and outdoor track, exterior hitt station, half basketball court, splash pad for kids, hot tub, pool, and more tennis court so than I can count. Day care is nice in morning and afternoon (I would prefer all day but I understand)They also have many programs that I don’t take advantage of. Their price isn’t the cheapest but also not the worst in the area. I appreciate the price range as the gym is more close-knit community and stays never too busy. If you only are gonna use a treadmill then yeah save 25$ and go to planet but if you have a fitness plan this is it

So a while back I toured and on last week I was ready to sign up but once the young lady pulled out paper showing the prices of membership and enrollment costs I realized that was not the place for me and why I hadn’t signed up before. Why would an enrollment fee be charged for each person and might I suggest maybe a family or group plan.

This is a wonderful place to workout. i have been coming here for around a month and the classes and the instructors are awesome. They are interactive and have youb sweating. The weights area has so much to offer. I also like the other training rooms that allow you to select a video and you can workout on your own.

LiveWell is a perfect friendly place to exercise, play and its family friendly. The staff always keeps the space and equipment clean. It is well lit, comfortable and they have recently added new and updated equipment. They have a ginormous pool plus a water soft play area, indoor walking track, pickle ball, basketball and healthy food and drinks are available. When summertime comes they offer programs for the little ones. I highly recommend LiveWell if you are looking for a great place to exercise or just have fun! 🤩

Worst experience ever. Owner was not helpful at all. Has no consideration for anyone’s time or health concerns. As I have diabetes and insulin management is a big concern. He thought it was funny. This guy should be reported to everywhere that people care about others well being. Initial visit. Staff very pkeasant and welcoming. All areas are super clean. The pool and jacuzzi outdoors plus and outdoor monitored walking path. Indoors upstairs is a walking path, various free weights and machines. A Ladies only exercise room, clean and quiet. Locker room clean includes dressing rooms, lockers and showers. Soda and specialty smoothies available. The time I went in ( and yes I signed up) very few people. Rates seem reasonable. Various group classes are available including aquatic exercise, yoga ti chi classic and senior silver sneakers plus zumba and cycling. So... MY adventure starts tomorrow with water aerobics.

Not a good gym, my Dad workouts here, and I had to go into town with him this Morning to do a few errands. While he was working out. Went back inside to see if I could use the restroom and the guy refused to let me in unless I had my own membership. I was just sitting in there waiting and he couldn't even let me behind the bars to go to Bathroom. When a Pregnant Woman has to go she's gotta go.

We enjoy Livewell. It's well maintained and the employees are very nice. My only complaint is that a lot of older men hang out there, presumably to avoid their wives, and sit on the exercise machines to watch TV. They don't all actually exercise and so the machines are sometimes not available for people that do want to use them for their intended purpose.

My Dad has been a member for 26 years since we moved to Lufkin in 1995. I dont go with my dad often so when I do I just buy a $10 day pass, which I find expensive. I tried going with my girlfriend to play tennis for an hour and was told it would be $20 each since my dad wasn't with us. I explained he couldn't be there with us because he's in the hospital with a collapsed lung and broken ribs due to a bike accident. The guy at the front desk didn't care and refused to ask his manager. So in short, they are way over priced and fail to give their employees enough authority to do right by their loyal long term customers.

LiveWell was great. I had a great workout and got myself a membership. You only pay $45 for a single person ($60 for two) and you get access to ALL the amenities. Track, workout area, pool, sauna, just to name a few. At such a reasonable price, I highly recommend it. My only issue is something that is a problem at all gyms. Throughout my entire workout I was having to go behind people and rack the weights that they had left on the bars. That's not a hit against the gym. Just something that got on my nerves. If you're looking for a quiet workout environment, I highly suggest you give them a chance!

My son was wanting to go to this gym. Called to see if they had discounts for Veterans and was told no, only active military. They also don't have discounts for First Responders. When I asked why they don't have discounts for Veterans I was told they didn't do nothing for Veterans. I can assure you I will never go to this place and I live half mile away.

I was a guest at Live Well Athletic Club today. I have not gone to a gym in 35 years so I was a bit nervous. I had a good friend who made it more comfortable. I was very impressed with this gym and more importantly the class. It was a very pleasant experience. I am not coordinated and could not perform have of the exercises but the instructor was great. She was encouraging and let me go my own pace. I found the gym friendly, clean, knowledgeable, professional and I look forward to going next week. Consider Live Well - you won’t be disappointed.

I am in this club 2 to 3 times a week. There is always someone cleaning something. They keep a great place, they are friendly and always hop to take care of anything I may have a concern about. A beautiful place to work out. I drive 90 miles from my primary home to work out here and stay at my other place which is still 30 miles from there.

To anyone reading Angela Russell's review...if those things were ever true- they aren't now! My spouse, children and I got a membership last week because the facility was so clean and the staff was so friendly.

A week later to me and everyone aroundme while I'm there they have been nothing short of polite and helpful!! The stuff about the walking trail was so shocking to read because thats my favorite part. It's BEAUTIFUL! Nothing seems "insecure" to me.

Anyway, I came to give them an awesome review because i had never been there until last week and am so impressed! Then reading another unfair and untrue review happened so i had to make sure everyone goes to be the judge of it themselves cause I've loved it for a week! My kids love it even more!

While the facility has some new equipment, etc. the overall feel is very antiquated. More than 70% of the time the staff is very rude. When attending classes it very much upset the older lady pushing the button to have to let us in. When touring the facility I was sold on ammenities and classes that flat out don't exists, and on the pool being available when the gym was open, only to find out that the seniors group gets first use and complain non-stop about anyone else being in the pool, most mornings the cleaning equipment is still running making lap swimming very difficult and unsafe, in the winter the cover remains on the majority of the lanes forcing you to share with many people doing opposite workouts, and in the summer children play in the lap lanes all day long while the lifeguards pay no attention. In the afternoons the pool is used by school swim teams conducting practice.

The facility is FILTHY! The women bathroom is covered in dirt and dust, and a "brown grime?" across the baseboards. The fans and vents in the aerobics room have obviously not been touched in years...many years. On more than one occasion I have found a used band aid belonging to someone else attached to my person. The outside track is poorly maintained, and insecure. I have complained several times about lights being out, and large beaches falling across the paths, the bridges being insecure, etc. only to be blown off by the staff. It is gross, over priced, and will leave you locked in to a commitment for way way way too long. Save your money and go almost anywhere else in town.
