I am so in love with this gym! It is perfect for my cross training with roller derby, and the community is fantastic! The instructors are very knowledgeable and strict about form to help prevent injury. If you’re interested in a good, fun butt kickin’, this is the place for you! All levels welcome!

I took advantage of their November promo… a fullllll month free. I had been wanting to get back into working out, but really was struggling with starting. It was a constant thought but little to no action behind the thought. After researching gyms I decided to try MADabolic due to the current promotion. I’ve been satisfied so far, and have been consistently showing up at minimum 3x a week and sometimes even 4x a week. Trainers are proactive and correct your form when and if necessary. They make themselves available for questions before, during, and after the workout. The atmosphere is welcoming, and interactions with staff and fellow gym members has been great!

I've really enjoyed my time at MAD. Its great having the structured workouts with coaches who are personable and knowledgeable. The classes help to create a strong community. A wide variety of equipment means you're not doing the same workouts over and over. Boxing is a nice addition to the workout to help blow off some steam. Gyms clean and equipment is wiped after each class.

I have been a full time member of MADabolic Austin North since the start of 2024. I could not be happier with my experience. The first day I attended, Ryan was the trainer with fantastic energy and everyone on the team genuinely cares about helping you achieve your goals.

It sucks like in the moment it really does 😭You’re dying, you’re drenched, and you’re questioning every decision that led you there 😂. But you feel good after honestly.

All the trainers are amazing, but I gotta give a special shoutout to Mel and Leilanni. Their energy is everything. Mel’s classes are always so fun and high-energy, and Leilanni somehow makes you feel both supported and challenged at the same time.

MADabolic is an amazing gym! Over the course of six months there, I gained six pounds of muscle. And just one month there was more effective for relieving my recurring hip pain than 2-3 years of physical therapy! The trainers are so encouraging, knowledgeable and kind. Recently joined MAD and I love the workout format as it drastically varies class to class. The staff and coaches are awesome and very welcoming, they will make you feel right at home as it could be overwhelming at first. I am trying out gyms in the north central area and this one stands out tremendously because of the trainers. The four trainers I worked with each monitored my form with diligence and offered clear and patent communication on what needed tweaking. A lot of gyms offer great workout classes but this one stands out for me, as a 45 year old, knowing I will be protected from injury as I am being challenged to get stronger and more athletic. I’ve really been enjoying my time here. I have had a variety of coaches, and they’re all super. I’ve done OTF in the past, and this is a bit more organized—coaches focus on form and walk around to correct if necessary (which is really important for these movements). You’ll be sweating for sure (but the AC and fan work awesome)! I will say it gets a little crowded in some classes, but the coaches do an outstanding job making sure everyone gets a solid workout and has ample space to do it. It’s definitely not boring and the time goes by quickly. They also do a very good job with accommodations for injuries- just get there a few min before class and they can give you alternative movements. As an aside- it’s a variety of people who come here…people who are clearly weightlifters, runners, athletes, your average Joe/Jane, etc. You won’t feel intimidated at all because it’s such a mishmash of folks, and you’re focused on your own movements more than anyone else.

If you’re looking for a group workout, where the focus is on burning a ton of calories, then this isn’t the gym for you. Madabolic has a system, focused on strength training (using dumbells and kettlebells),with some conditioning that will give you a balanced workout. And if you pair the workouts with the nutritional blueprint they offer you, then you’ll definitely see results depending on your fitness goals.
I’ve worked out in many group workout gyms throughout Austin, and Madabolic definitely stands out as having coaches who watch your forms like a hawk, and guide you to do them correctly and safely. I’m able to challenge myself each time I work out, and love every minute of it.

I love this gym so much! So many other places expect you to know what you’re doing or don’t offer corrections— which is the easiest way to get injured. The coaches here walk around & correct your form the entire time. The first 15 minutes of class is spent breaking everything down & stretching. It’s also very well lit so you’re not just in the back injuring yourself in the dark (I’m looking at you Barry’s)

Not just a gym!
I was one of those people that went to a gym but was lacking motivation without a workout buddy. Stumbled across MAD due to a friend suggesting coming with him a couple of times. Felt right at home the first day I came to a class. Trainers are very friendly and encourage you no matter what kind of workout goals you're seeking. Your personal goals will be met if you're just returning to the gym after a hiatus or if you're already in shape and looking for a new gym. Throw in the fun events they have multiple times a month and this was an easy place to call and suggest.

The instructors and community are probably what makes MAD stand out for me. The format is different than competitor studios (such as F45) while the class is 50 mins, the workout is only 30 minutes. You spend the first 10 minutes listening to an overview of each move and then 10 minutes in a guided warm up. I’ll be honest, the first few times I went to the class, it felt like 20 mins wasted time especially when you’re looking to just get in and out. But I’ve realised how much I like the warm up because you certainly feel better in the workout and the next day. The instructors are also very helpful in correcting your form so you’re getting the most from the workout and less injury prone. I’d recommend trying different instructors because they all have different music

I’ve been going to MAD for the past three months and love it. I started coming after losing a significant amount of weight over the past few years but feeling like I was not as strong as I used to be and wanting to make sure I was losing fat, not muscle. I get monthly DEXA scans and in 12 weeks at MAD I am up a pound of lean tissue and down 12 pounds of fat. I also feel much stronger and more physically capable and empowered.

The instructors and vibe at MAD are amazing. I was really intimidated to try the workout because everyone I saw on their social media looked like they had been working out their whole lives. But in reality, it’s a diverse crowd with varied fitness levels and everyone in their own lane during the workout. I am still on the very low end of fitness levels but the instructors are great at coming up with modifications so that I make consistent improvement and I never feel left out of the workout. The instructors are world class – consistently better than I’ve met at other gyms or personal training. They think through the workouts and really invest in the clients.

If I had to offer one feedback or complaint, it is that, although the workout has a great warmup, there isn’t a clear cooldown after the work is over. It would be good to have a two-minute optional cool down or know the right stretches to recover best or what recovery we should incorporate into our routine.

The class format works really well for me. Once you start working it does seem as though the class is over pretty quickly. I appreciate having the coach available to correct my form on weightlifting exercises. I especially like how clean and well-equipped the studio is. Having a variety of workouts to perform makes it seem much less like a chore. I definitely get a lot out of kettlebell work, but also enjoy the stationary machines like the bike and rowers.

The North location is a hidden gem full of potential for those seeking to learn, grow and improve their physical/mental fortitude.

Unique in strength based intervals (not counting reps, calories, etc) which allows performance to be personal to each individual.

The coaches take exceptional care to teach all the movements and help everyone grow.

I am not much of an exercise person, and never have been, but I'm actually excited to work out at MADabolic several times a week. Thanks to the amazing trainers, and the ability to adjust the weights to how you're feeling on that particular day, I always feel encouraged to do my best but never pushed to do more than I'm comfortable with. Why I do love MADabolic?
The coaches are amazing, the workouts are amazing and community here is incredible. I’ve made life long friendships and this place has made me a better person. The coaches truly care about you and go above and beyond for everyone.

As woman and a person of color, I have always felt welcomed and safe here. Having this safe space has been a lifesaver for me (literally) as we all know the world can be a crazy place.

I love MAD! I had my first experience at the South location and really loved it. It was fun, and though it was a hard workout, I didn’t feel like death after. The trainers are very encouraging, and super nice. They even remembered my name after just coming to one session, which I really appreciated! When they finally opened a location up north I immediately signed up. I love that the trainers focus on proper form and technique while you are exercising so you are less likely to get hurt.
