I’ve been to two classes at Meraki Haus so far and I’ll definitely be coming back! The studios are so clean and gorgeous! I’ve taken both pole and intro to Lyra and both classes were very intentional and well thought out but most of all so fun! I really enjoyed both Jenna and Erika’s classes.
The time of both classes is perfect for me because I usually get off work around 6 and I had time to go home and still make it to class in time even driving from an hour away. It is absolutely worth the drive in my opinion. The classes are very well structured and maximize your time. The warm ups are thorough yet concise and you have plenty of time for the content you came for, and by the time your muscles are cooked, it’s time for the cool down. Also, my first time ever visiting the front desk person (I wish I remembered her name) was such a sweetheart and gave me a tour and told me about some of the really cool touches in the studio.
I’ve been so satisfied with my experience and everyone I’ve met has been so friendly and inviting. If you’re on the fence about taking a class then take this as your sign to just do it!

To the parents of local competitive dancers: I'm working with a group of parents and we are hoping to get some insight from you all.
Our daughters dance team has been through some major changes, nearly half of the team quit in May and the chaos has continued through the summer. There are wild rumors and allegations circulating and it's got us thinking about the importance of having clear standards for our kids' safety and well-being. We are curious what kind of policies your teams have in place, specifically when it comes to leadership.
For instance, does your team have a code of conduct for coaches and directors? What are the rules around your director texting with minors? Inappropriate texting between our director and students has been a proven problem and we want it stopped before it hurts anyone else. Our studio uses Band tools and we would like to request that all communication come through Band or a parent be added if texting is necessary. Are there any reasons why a director would need to privately message our children without us on the chat?
Are there any specific guidelines for alcohol at your team events? Allegations of alcohol abuse by our director in the presence of our dancers have been documented on more than one occasion. Regardless of any excuses, alcohol serves no purpose at our team events and we feel should be banned. Are there any reasons why alcohol should be present at youth centered activities?
Is your director allowed to accept large gifts/trips/cash from parents? Does your team have guidelines to keep gifts from crossing the line to bribery? Any guidelines for personal relationships that cross the professional barrier?
As parents are you provided information on the current training and certifications for your directors? For example we'd like to confirm the qualifications of our director teaching a new acro class. This is not her forte and for our children's safety we would like to request that she have extra training.

This studio is hands down so amazing 🤩 the environment is fun, inviting, and overall great. The owner Jenna has competed on the national circuit and is so knowledgeable about all the apparatuses. The other instructors Erika, Rowan, Nissa, Jacqui, and Anna are very supportive and knowledgeable as well. I love the community that they have built and I look forward to going every time.

I am not a very active person and this was so much FUN! I felt like a kid at a playground.
This was my first time trying the Lyra and I just loved it.
Erika was our class leader and she really made this expierence fun for me, with her witty-ness to her encouragement, and even reminders to just do my best.
There was no feelings of shame or awkwardness as I fumbled around, or when I couldnt do certain things. I appreciated being able to "cheat" at times to make it work lol
For example, I struggled to pull myself up to get into the hoop, but i found a way that worked for me until I gain more endurance/muscles ect.
This place is great. I was thinking of doing this a couple times a week along with a workout class somewhere else, but I like this so much that I think I'll be getting the unlimited package.
What had originally made me want to try Lyra was a a couple years ago when I tried silks, just once, I didnt like it personally.. but I saw a woman on the Lyra and she wasn't skinny by any means (she looked like me). She was so graceful and so inspiring, that for a couple years now, I've wanted to try it.
This isnt a "you have to be thin to enjoy this or do any cool moves".
I had to wait for things in life to sort out, but I'm finally here, and im happy.

Meraki House is a true gem! The owner's friendly nature sets a welcoming tone, making it feel like a home away from home. The staff, a delightful mix of fun and knowledge, adds a unique charm to the experience.
What sets Meraki House apart is its genuine inclusivity. Everyone is not only accepted but celebrated. It's a place where diversity is embraced, creating a community that feels like family.

TL;DR: For the level of instruction, variety of classes, flexibility of payment options, the ever-welcoming & empowering community, this studio is PRICELESS. No matter the reason you're wanting to check this place out, JUST DO IT. I leave every class feeling enriched, fulfilled, & empowered to be unapologetically myself (no matter how awkward, bravado, or silly mwuahaha). Truly a place where all bodies are welcome!!
Elaborated:
To start from the outside in, parking is PLENTIFUL in a secluded business parking lot with a straight, visual shot to the studio & a 5-30ft-ish walk (for some, this is really important). I have felt safe going in & out of the studio regardless of time.
Once you enter the space - WOW! Each spot underneath an aerial rig has a forgiving crash mat underneath & each lyra/sling/pair of silks has adjustable rigging that is easily accessible against the wall.
pole studio
The pole studio has floor to ceiling mirrors that you can see yourself from regardless of which pole you work from or how high you climb (the poles themselves are the highest I've seen in a studio in the N/NW Houston area thus far), & there's a good amount of room between each pole.
The dance/fitness studio has a full length mirror as well & equipment provided whether you're taking a pilates, yoga, strength/cardio, or dance class. (Bonus: the pole & fitness rooms have privacy screens that can be rolled down on their doors to help those in the classes feel more comfortable in their space). Regardless of where I am, I love the additional, customizable touches like the lighting.
Waiting areas are spacious, clean, & inviting & the furniture is comfortable (love the quirky, black leather cushions)! Plenty of places to hang/store your stuff per room (love the racks of shoes in the pole studio)! There are two bright, spacious restrooms to change in as well.
At this point in writing, I have attended 7 different classes (Belly Dance, BendAbility, Burlesque, Pole Initiation, Pole Conditioning, Pole Sensual, & Pole I) & am looking forward to trying them all! I appreciate that each class not only has expectations laid out in their description, but also a briefing of what we're to do, how to do it, & physical/emotional/social support for success once you're there. There's a thoughtful warm-up & cool-down & overall vibe of "show up for you & listen to what your body needs, & we'll be here to support whatever that looks like for you within our space". Every instructor is multitalented & not only excellent at what they do, but ALSO excellent at sharing their knowledge & experience with others. These are the nurturing, encouraging, credible, positive teachers I wish I had my whole life regardless of what was being taught.
I also wholeheartedly support the decision to close the studio down for equipment maintenance & recovery (for both students & instructors) once every season or breath cycle as it is definitely an underrated strategy for holistic longevity.
The Meraki Haus is a GIFT to the community, & I am so very grateful for every instructor & student there elevating each other to their best selves. I have driven people across town to attend this studio with me, & will happily continue doing so. Thank you!!

I’m so grateful for Meraki Haus! The owners are so genuine and worked hard to build a beautiful space, a passionate team and harmonious community. There’s nothing better than an environment where everyone is welcomed and supported in their pole and aerial art’s journey. All the classes and instructors are amazing and I gain so much strength from cross training with each apparatus!

Went with two of my girl friends to a poles initiation class this past week sort of on a whim and it was so fun! I had never done anything like this ever, let alone a poles class. As soon as I walked in (even a few minutes late) I immediately felt welcomed in and part of the class. The instructor was so high energy and positive and even though I'm uncomfortable with my body the instructor made me feel good with all of the positive comments for everyone in the class. No matter the skill level there was a variation for almost every move/spin/pose we learned so everything felt accessible and everyone's efforts were celebrated. Super professional and fun environment! I didn't think I would have said this before trying it out, but I'm definitely interested in more!

Such an amazing gym! I’ve taken classes from Jenna and Jody so far and they’ve been great and supportive instructors. If you’ve ever wanted to learn pole, aerial or yoga but were hesitant, this is definitely the place to do so. It’s a cute and clean no-judgment zone, plus the instructors make sure no one is left behind. I can’t say enough good things about here 💕
