Mongoose Martial Arts was established in 1997. We have turned out over a hundred State and World Champions in Sport Karate. Our focus is discipline and self improvement. We start as young as 3 years and up to any age. It's never too late or early to learn a new skill and develop and awesome way of life.

Great dojo, my niece and nephews have been going here over a year, and they love it. Very encouraging and positive environment.
I recently started taking cardio kickboxing with Sensai Art, and so far, I haven't been disappointed. He is positive and motivates you to push yourself. I am excited to learn more and see how far I can go.

I finally found a home! Been looking for a dojo to be part of for 14 years! Yes. 14 years! First class, everyone was extremely welcoming! Didn't know what to expect. Hanshi Mike is extremely knowledgeable & passionate about his students. The love can be seen throughout the students, parents & staff. Kids, teenagers, young adults & adults welcome. My son has been a student here for a little over a year now and we all love it! We originally were just looking for a extracurricular activity for our very hyper boy, but we’ve gained so much more joining this family. He has so much more confidence. And at 5 years old he knows what it means to work hard for something he wants and to set goals. He even aspires to be like the older kids and be a leader in the future. I can’t recommend this School enough! I look forward to the day my little one also steps on the mat!

I took my kid and the first couple months were good she would keep moving up and getting her stripes. Recently for the past 6 months she’s been in the same belt. She’s been one of the top kids in her class and yet she can’t get a stripe or move up a belt? She’s been going to every class, practicing at home, beating other kids when they spar, and doing all the activities and exercises they give her. I would understand if she wasn’t winning and doing as she’s told but she has. I’ve put money and time into this program for my kid to move up and learn. When I noticed she wasn’t getting a stripe I started paying attention to the sensei. He seems to have favorites in the class. He’s been rude and doesn’t seem to understand where im coming from when I talk to him about the progress of my daughter. He treats the kids differently and is very aggressive, I wouldn’t recommend coming here at all.

Great school! Everyone is super welcoming and are treated like family. The instructors are amazing and do a great job teaching, encouraging and building the students. Their competition team is one of, if not the best teams in Texas. Champions from left to right. If you are in the San Antonio area and want to start your Martial Arts journey (whether adult or child), this is the school for you.

The only problem i had was that they wouldn't take my cash unless it was through some form of a card/bank- never have i EVER had a company not wanna take my cash😂😂 everyine MUST realize that yes this is another business and yes they are trying to make a living like us so "WHY" bash them when you should ALREADY know that this is going to cost cash at the end/beginning of EVERY MONTH -

I put my 4 & 5 year olds in Mongoose Karate 3 years ago. I immediately saw improvement in their self confidence and physical health. The have also developed a strong sense of self-discipline and respect for others. Not only did it help my children, but I started doing Jiu Jitsu 2 years ago and in the first year I went from a 36 waist back down to a 33 waist and my blood pressure went down 20 points!

This school was , and still is a terrible experience financially. When I first brought my two kids to enroll there, I overlooked the high $100 a month price for each kid because my kids seemed like they were interested. I was willing to pay $200 a month for my 4 year old and my 3 year old to learn something new. This so called dojo did not tell us during the enrollment time that we were not allowed to bring our own water into the dojo, instead they made us buy their overpriced water. They made us pay $80 for a childs uniform which is $30 online. They mark up everything 100% and force you to purchase it from them. Also, they run gymnastics class during the childrens karate class on the same floor at the same time so it is hard to watch my kid do karate because there are other kids tumbling in front of the karate class. This dojo is nothing more than a money pit!!! I am now stuck in a two year contract paying $200 month for something I used only less than a month. STAY AWAY!!! find a school that you can pay month to month!! I was almost ready to buy a house for my me and my family but because Mongoose martial arts uses a very aggressive auto-draft company, they wrecked my credit report without giving me notice and I got denied on my home purchase. The owners told us they would reduce our balance by half since we do not attend the school anymore but that was all a lie and I am still stuck with a balance of $3000. Horrible, horrible school!!
