I just had one of the BEST fitness class experiences ever, and I HAVE to give a huge shout-out to Amanda! I booked a dance fit class and ended up being the only student but Amanda still showed up with absolute professionalism and 500% energy, as if she was teaching a room of 100 people.
From the moment we started, she paid so much attention to my form, muscle activation, posture, and breathing. The warm-up, strength training, and the dance routine were all perfectly structured. I loved how she mixed strength training with dance choreography, you’re having fun dancing, but at the same time every muscle is on fire in the best way possible!
Amanda didn’t cut corners just because it was a 1-on-1 situation. She corrected me, encouraged me, cheered me on, and gave personalized tips non-stop. the stretching at the end was SO good. Many studios rush through stretching or skip it entirely, but she really took her time to make sure the body cooled down properly. I walked out feeling energized, stronger, and in such a good mood.
Whether you’re a beginner or more advanced, Amanda creates such a supportive, uplifting, fun, and professional environment. I’ve taken many group classes before, but this one truly stood out. I’m already planning my next class with her!

I got to try the trampoline class here and became obsessed. Coordinated low impact workout to energetic music - absolutely loved it. Parts of the class incorporate hand weights and stretch bands that were a bit barre like for muscle toning which was helpful.

I just joined DEFINE in West University and I highly recommend it. Since the lockdown of COVID last year, I have not been comfortable exercising in a group setting indoors. It's great that DEFINE offers outdoor classes too! The Bounce class is my favorite. Exercising on a mini-trampoline is not only funny but a great cardio workout!

I was previously long-time member, actually I signed up when they originally opened in 2019 with the original founder: Henry Richardson. I moved away from Houston and recently returned. I joined immediately and surprisingly majority of the spin cycle instructors are still employed. I think this speak volumes of the culture at Define. Upon my return to Houston, 2020 has been a difficult year for me and many others. Going to the spin classes gives me hope for the future and the outstanding encouragement throughout the staff is breathtaking. These classes has literally saved me from depression. I highly recommend Define to anyone who wishes to be a member of a caring organization.

In this new era where fitness is available both live and virtual it’s a pleasure to be able to take bounce classes at define from my home in New York State. My go to class is Sunday’s at 9:45 Central, 10:45 My time With Natalie Nguyen. Natalie’s classes are well designed, a great workout excellently cued to motivate and not too crazy. This is an outstanding class for beginners or experienced bouncers. I found the studio thru Jumpsport which makes the mini trampolines they use and I use at home. Jumpsport are the best. Love the ease of signing up using the mind body app. Looking forward to the opportunity to one day take a class on site at Define. Hoping virtual classes will remain once this nightmare pandemic is over.

Define’s bounce trampoline class immediately became one of my favorite workouts earlier this year. Fun, challenging and a great way to switch things up and SWEAT. Always great instructors, too.

Attended classes in person pre-COVID, now taking classes exclusively online. The live Zoom format has been wonderful for keeping motivation up and getting in a great workout, but doing so safely. While I miss group fitness classes, I've been so impressed and pleasantly surprised at how I can still get a great boost from doing live workouts online--and that is in large part a testament to the energy levels that the Define instructor team delivers. (And, silver lining, no time lost driving to/from, or dealing with parking!) Glad to have a safe way to still get my butt kicked :)

This is a clean, well maintained, and refined studio, and the instructors are innovative and attentive. They offer some nutritional options, in addition to their line of clothing and accesories. I would love for the spinning bikes to have metrics, so we could better assess progress, but that is my only critique.

I attend Kirby’s Bounce class every Thursday first and foremost because it is FUN and second because it is a killer workout. Define is a unique studio for atheltes and beginners alike-and if you’re in a rut and need a boost to change up the old routine, get your butt in here! Easy check-in with friendly, efficient staff, a clean studio and a variety of classes. It’s the current zeitgeist.

I've been a long-time client of Define - and just moved to another side of town, so I'm happy that I've had the chance to experience West U's amazing studio, instructors, and staff! It's definitely a FRIENDLY place. I've been to a lot of studios across the country, and Define is my favorite. I LOVE the variety of class offerings, ranging from strength, to stretching, to cardio. You often don't get that from a boutique workout studio. If you are looking for a new home away from home, check out Define!

From looking at the website I had the impression this would be a slow thoughtful movement class. Boy was I ever wrong. I explained that I was 64 yo but worked out on an elliptical 1 hour 5-6 x weekly and used exercise bands 3-4 x weekly and asked if this would be too much for someone like me and was assured I would do just fine. I attempted one class and could only manage about 1/3 of the reps and was sore for a week afterward.
The average age of the participants was 25 yo and many of them were struggling to keep up.
Another thing that struck me was the lack of comraderie among the participants. I have belonged to a number of gyms and exercise classes and after a work-out there is always chatting about the session afterward. The dressing area was completely silent except for the opening and closing of locker doors.

When I went to Define body I was expecting a lot more challenging workout. I even went sore. The only thing that was challenging was the abs and my core is very weak from pregnancies and a c-section. I woke up expecting to be sore but I wasnt even close. i will probably take these classes for recovery days.
The staff is somewhat friendly. I am a millenial and I actually live in the neighborhood but their attitudes were fitting with a west u wife but they were early 20's.
The spinning class was good and the instructor was friendly. But if you are under 5'4" the handles and sadfle do not adjudt to wear you can do some of the work in the class.
