Used to be a member for 6 years but recently decided to cancel my membership. The gym has strayed far away from what summit was and has overall become a worse community to climb in. Sets aren't the greatest and definetly not as beginner friendly as other gyms. I would overall check out different gyms but if you've never gone, take advantage of first time for free.

I've been going here for almost as long as I've lived in Fort Worth! Its a cool place, fairly popular. Definitely can get crowded, which is no fun, especially when there's a bunch of kids running around, but if you can get here on the chill days it should be fine! Staff and the other climbers are friendly, def would recommend this place

Overall a pretty good climbing gym.
I have been a member here on and off for about 4 years, from when this used to be Summit Fort Worth.
Since this is part of the larger DFW Movement system, the routesetting is usually very good. There is good route density and there are new sets every week or two, so there is always something new to climb. There is not any roped climbing at this Movement location, but the bouldering is the best in Fort Worth.
There is a small workout area upstairs, so if you mostly want to climb and just lift a little bit on the side, there will be enough equipment for you. The only machines they have are a rowing machine, treadmill, stair stepper, and pulldown machine, so definitely not a full gym.
A day pass here and rental gear is fairly expensive, but members get free guest passes every month, so if you just want to try out climbing, try finding someone to go with.

As a first-time boulderer, Alex made me feel comfortable and supported throughout the Bouldering 101 class. They emphasize the strong sense of community that is at Movement, which is exactly what I am looking for. Alexβs approach is encouraging, clear, and focused on making sure you feel challenged at your own pace. Highly recommend!

This place rocks (pun intended)! It was my birthday and I went in with my partner for some fun and Braden was so incredibly sweet and kind to us while we were there. The whole place is very clean, beginner friendly, and overall a great place to work out. Highly, highly reccommended if you're looking for something to do by yourself or with a group!

I absolutely love this gym for bouldering and yoga. The Sunday morning foundations class with Cameron is amazing. He is so good at teaching proper form and breathing techniques with good beginner friendly variations. It's the best place in the city to unwind from a long week and really get in tune with your mental, emotional, and physical well-being. I only wish this class was 90 minutes long instead of 45 π Please extend the class, Movement

In terms of climbing gyms, this is mediocre, especially when compared to the movement gyms in Dallas. Smaller gym, with a good variety of routes and helpful staff. There are no showers and limited parking right in front of the building.

Honestly the place is nice. I went as a guest when my wife signed up and loved the experience so much I signed up myself. There is a small gym on the second floor but it has the essentials whether your focus is on rock climbing or lifting in general. Never had an issue with the employees.
My main critique is how the policy has changed to where, if you want to rock climb, you have to pay to use their equipment (shoes & chalk) which doesnβt make sense to me. This is a rock climbing gym, what does the almost $85 a month cover, just being a member? Itβs surely not for the gym upstairs because there are bigger gyms for a fraction of the cost. I genuinely donβt understand this change in policy.
Unfortunately Iβm conflicted because I really like the place and was starting to enjoy adding rock climbing to my routine. I havenβt climbed in about a month because of the extra charges and I canβt justify spending the money on just the gym space alone.
Still indecisive on whether or not to spend the money on equipment (mainly shoes cause they are not cheap) so weβll see. Overall if rock climbing is something you really want to get into and you donβt mind spending the money, have at it because the routes are great. They change periodically making it interesting with new challenges and itβs truly a humbling experience in the best way.

Sick gym. Great beats always spinning. Great people. Excellent routes. Day passes and rentals if you need em. Membership is well worth it because they have a weightroom too, not to mention full access to all the other summit locations. Bouldering only here so if youre afraid of heights you can start workin that out here. It is a lil gym and it is bouldering only so its mostly chillen. Beta spray is my love language. The community here is phenominal!

Fun spot to get a great workout. Be warned though that there are no harnesses or anything when youβre climbing so if you fall itβs all on you to remember to fall back and roll. The team will teach you the proper technique so itβs not that bad and the floor of bouncy so you should be fine. Good luck!!

Fun place! Oso did a great job of helping us during our first time there last night! My friend and I went for ladies night and he was energetic, helpful, informative, and even saved me when I was stuck at the top of the middle structure. I really liked this place and appreciated that there were different levels for people.
Also, I said I was gonna mention the fact that they have lotion if you need it. Idk why but that was thr highlight and is usually a highlight for us individuals that tend to get ashy quicker πππ thank y'all again!

Great vibes. Staff is friendly and helpful, excellent range of routes for all skill levels, and patrons are generally friendly as well. Some of the regulars are happy to lend advice or just chat on the features/techniques for particular routes if asked.
One note for veterans - this is a bouldering gym so if youβre looking for rope routes the Grapevine location is a better fit.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff, fun climbing environment.
Update: I've been climbing here 2-3x a week for almost a month now, and my initial 5 star review still stands. It would be 10 if I could give it. The community is awesome, I can't count the number of times I've gotten tips from other climbers that have drastically improved my climbing. The staff are always friendly and willing to help out. I'd recommend Summit to anyone who even sort of thinks they'd enjoy climbing.

The manager, Adam was awful! Did everything he could to embarrass my family. We have a membership for my family of 4 and after last night I am considering cancelling and climbing elsewhere. The climbing itself it very fun and great for the family just sad that employees are harassing the paying customers. Even my young kids said they felt uncomfortable going back if he is going to be there. After reading some of the other comments on here, clearly this is not an isolated incident.

This place is fantastic! I travel for work and have visited many different gyms around the country, the setting here is some of the best Iβve sampled.
The moves are thoughtful and well placed rather than the βbe stronger or jump furtherβ you find at some gyms. I found myself flowing through the easier grades and really enjoying working for those higher ones. Thanks for a great gym!

This is a bouldering only rock climbing gym. There is no top rope climbing. However, the frequency of routes being changed and shear number of routes keeps it fresh. All climbing comes with free workout and yoga classes as well. Everyone here is super supportive too, you could not ask for a better staff of folks. You can make the same claim for the patrons. Summit Fort Worth is probably the best gym for bouldering out of the DFW summit gyms (itβs a close match to Plano). Thereβs LOTS of bouldering here. Thatβs actually the ONLY climbing they have here. There are no ropes at all. I personally prefer top rope climbing so I prefer to go to other summit locations. Each of the summit gyms has strengths and weaknesses. Fort Worth is a great location (for me) but it doesnβt have ropes which makes me sad. If you prefer bouldering then youβll be happy here. I gave this 4 stars in comparison to Plano, which is the best gym.
Summit as a whole is a good gym. I have been a member for nearly a year and I havenβt had any problems with them. Membership is pretty expensive but if you climb often enough itβs worth it.

My husband, son and I were visiting family and wanted to introduce them to the sport. Unfortunately for us, when we showed up to climb we were turned away because they donβt allow climbers under age 6 and we werenβt going to climb and have the little ones, 3 and 4, just watch. There was NO information of this listed anywhere on their website. It seems all of the locations have different rules and ways that the gyms are run, but the website doesnβt share this and lumps all the gyms together as one.

I love the Fort Worth gym, but unfortunately it's quite the trek so I don't get to go out as much as I might like. I find that the FW gym never gets that busy that you feel claustrophobic on the wall. Since this gym is all boulders, it's nice to feel like you're not too crowded when coming down. While I am not the biggest fan of bouldering (I'll stick to ropes), I still appreciate this gym for everything it has to offer. Always friendly staff and always a good time.

Huge & best Bouldering!!!! Park across the street for free parking, super easy! Biggest bouldering gym ever, it's the biggest of the summit gyms and the routes are technical and there is the most variety of them here at this gym. I've been climbing for 5 months consistently and I can climb most reds here! Other gyms have harder routes and not that much variety in routes. Summit Fort Worth is my all time favourite climbing gym. The employees are incredibly friendly and knowledgable, the problems are always a blast and are changed often enough that you always have something new to work on and the community is just so helpful and welcoming.
Adam (who I'm assuming is the manager) helped me get set up with gear once I was ready to get my own and made sure I had what was right for me. Their gear packages are a really good value as well and come with a month of climbing. If you're just renting gear, they include chalk which is something I haven't seen at any other climbing gym so far.
I haven't had the chance to go to any of their special events yet but I hear they are a blast. Recently they had a late night climb with a slack line set up which I've seen more than once and they have an upcoming class on route setting.
Overall, I couldn't recommend this gym enough. Whether you're someone who's never attempted to climb or have been for years, there's something for you there along with a community of people who are excited to help and will cheer you on.
