I have been watching Natyom school programs for many years since I know many students from our neighborhood who attend Natyom classes. I have been learning Bharatanatyam from Natyom for around nine years now, and I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Under the guidance of Praveena aunty, I was able to learn and grow as a dancer. My daughter has been learning from Mrs Praveena Vajja since she last 7 yrs. We started her when she was 6 yo and was closer to the school. We moved to Frisco farther away from the school but we liked the school so much, we didn’t want to switch teachers. We would drive over the weekend and take our daughter to class. Mrs Praveena was always accommodating with timings and sharing class videos for easy practices. Along with the excelling training, we could also rent out lovely costumes for every show while our child was growing up and enjoyed the whole experience of dance training. We had to later move to Canada. We kept looking for local teachers and finally decided to try online training with Natyom pre pandemic. For last 21/2 years our daughter has been training online from Natyom and we are very happy. Even online, she is progressing very well with detailed corrections and smaller class sizes. Even though she got a break, Mrs Praveena is very caring and accommodating in helping my daughter catch up and stay in the batch of her old friends. There are so many groups if same age and level students that it is easy to do a make up class if needed. My daughter recently took the first level exam through SAMPADA and got distinction in both theory and practical because of the schools intense all rounded training.

I have been one of Praveena aunty’s disciples for about 9 years. Each and every day I spent learning at Natyom Dance Academy was one to be cherished. I was faced with many opportunities that not only improved my skills as a dancer, but my social skills as well. We don’t have any stress about costumes, jewelry, performance locations. The director, Mrs Praveena Vajja, makes it all easy. My daughter continued her dance classes even during the Pandemic and the full credit goes to Mrs Praveena Vajja and her team of teachers who are all excellent in training online. The students had small group online classes and were able to learn with all corrections and same discipline as "in person" class. It was very convenient to see my daughters dance class at home and not driving to activities. The school has very good collection of costumes in multiple sizes and patterns. So after each term during the pandemic, we would rent a costume and record solo videos of our child in a background we made at our time. I have been part of the Natyom Dance Academy for now over 11 years, and every moment has been a memory. Before the pandemic and during the pandemic, we as a school have worked hard and adapted to the new environment, and have crafted into great dancers. I have been learning Bharatanatyam from Natyom for four years, and with the guidance of Praveena aunty and the rest of her team, I have been able to develop my skills and technique. We see all age and level students learning at Natyom. I was not sure if I can learn bharatanatyam as an adult beginner but I got inspired seeing so many adults not just learning at different levels but also giving stage performances.

My daughter spent the summer at this wonderful school and cried and cried when I had to take her out of it, due to our move to a different state. The owner, Dr Praveena Vajja, is a very passionate, knowledgeable and kind teacher and has passed on her skills wonderfully to the senior students (like the beautiful and wonderful Sowmeyaa) who in turn now train the younger ones, under Praveena's close supervision. I am a dentist and joined Natyom 5 years ago as an Advanced Adult student as I finished my arangetram and was looking for advanced lessons. Both my daughters learnt dance from Praveena and I can see their progress year over year! As a result of Bharatnayam training, they now find all other dances easy! The school has a higher purpose of teaching Bharatanatyam to connect our children spiritually to our Vedic roots rather than just teaching dance for a commercial purpose.
