We visited and joined this gym on 7/15/25 . The day we went in i explained that due to my allergic reaction to sunlight we were joining so we could play basketball indoors . I explained it would be myself my son and my daughter and asked what memberships we would need . I was suggested two platinum memberships because i could bring a guest. Ok perfect there are 3 of us . Was told because im buying 2 memberships the first would be 27 and the second 15 a month perfect right. We have been going up there faithfully every week once to twice a week because we live 35 miles away until monday 9/15 when we went in and a man informed us no guests were allowed on the basketball court. Um ok why !? This is not what i was told in the beginning or anyday since . So i asked could i just sit in lobby and the other two play was told no thats not allowed either . Ok so what did i pay for ?? Not to mention i was charged 27 for both memberships not 27 and 15 like i was told originally. Also they informed me when i asked for management or corporate someone would call me and 3 days later nothing . Very upsetting situation

I've worked out here and at natilus west over 10 years.
1. Always broken equipment, instead of replacing they repair it and it breaks down a month later.everything in this gym is old and worn.
2. They let the pool and hottub get absolutely disgusting. To where the water is green.
3. Ceiling and floors in pool room has growth (probably mold)
4. They don't monitor sauna temp at all. No thermostat, which is dangerous for timed sessions because the temp changes drastically. There are two heaters and members have unrestricted access to them. Often times someone will be on the floor turning the second on, which I assume only shuts off in the first place when a certain temp is hit.
5. Staff is useless. Young people at front, always playing on phones, never see anyone cleaning or straightening equipment.
6. One continuous wall of 3-4 sets of dumbbells without any dividers, resulting in the dumbbells always being out of order. Not uncommon to see 60lbs+ above waist level and 20lbs or less sitting on the bottom where heavy weight should be. This is even more frustrating because one of the three young guys up front playing on their phones could fix it.
7. Streamings starting to pop up everywhere. Shouldn't have to watch out for people's tripods while I'm working out. Not sure how appropriate encouraging video recording in a gym is to begin with.
8. Wish they were consistent with there clothing policy. Every now and then I'll use my shirt to dry off after sauna and then I'll walk out with it off but covering my chest. Front counter said that's not okay, but tons women walk around working out in only a sports bra where full skin contact is being made and that's okay? I walk out (not touching any equipment) and covering same area and that's not okay? Everyone who touches gym equipment should be fully clothed.

Not great phone customer service. I called to get pricing for my family (wife and two kids) and was told to just come in. I understand this is a sales tactic to get our membership but I can't stand the used car salesman mentality of just come in and we'll talk face to face. Most people are too busy for all that and just want straight answers. Does anyone know how much it cost to join and monthly for a family of four?

This is the gym I originally started working out at with my dad in 2012. Very disappointed with the lack of care put into running this place. You would think if you’re charging $10-$30 a month per person with a $50-$60 annual fee that there would be some kind of actual improvements made in the 10-15 years of operating. The equipment is horrible and most has been there since I started working out there in 2012. The maintenance of the old equipment is awful. Machines stay down for a while and are never really fixed. They just throw a bandaid on it and call it good. The barbells that I used in 2012 are still there. Old and bent. Almost causing me to drop 405 on my face because of the weight shifting when I went to unrack the weight. Bench’s are wobbly and old, some new dumbbells have been added but most of them still say aspen on them from their previous ownership, cable machines are the worst I’ve ever seen. Most are not smooth at all when sliding up and down. Missing rubber coating and have been like this for a while. Old attachments that are missing rubber coating as well. Place is also really dirty. If this place wasn’t the only big commercial gym in Sherman that has free weights, I’m sure it would be shut down by now. Any Golds, 24 hour, crunch, etc. would have this place closed. Don’t understand where the money has been going for 15ish years but it’s clearly gone to the wrong spot. Do not advise anyone to go here if you’re trying to have an enjoyable lifting experience. I’ve canceled my membership and I hope I don’t have a similar experience of being charged after cancellation as others have had.

My experience is a bit of a mixed bag. I'll start with the cons. The gym is fairly large with alot of machines. Most of which could use some tlc. Pads are worn and grips are tearing or falling off. Plates on the machines and attachments are getting rusty and pulleys don't roll well, making some workouts harder than intended or just not moving smoothly. Sometimes it's even a struggle to get the pin in the plate. They still use paper and spray bottles for cleaning equipment which almost nobody wants to use so most seats are covered in the last person's sweat. Please switch to wipes, more people are willing to wipe down equipment. This gym again is pretty big so it tends to get crowded with people sitting around on their phones, so if you come with a set workout in mind, you may be stuck waiting. Now for the pros. The large amount of machines is nice to get in a wide variety of workouts. The sauna is very nice to see in a gym. Great for post workout stretches. The pool and hot tub tend not to be crowded if that's your thing. Lockers are plenty and available. They also have a full sized basketball court and massage chairs. I like this gym it's in a good location but, definitely needs some updated machines or a better maintenance crew.

I want to give 5 stars to one of the owners of Nautilus Family Fitness, Jim Hall! I had an issue trying to cancel my training sessions not knowing I had sign a contract for 8 months! Without naming names, the regional director would not work with me to resolve my problem so I asked for the name of the owner for which she refused to give me. Long story short, I found his name and emailed him an explanation of my situation. The owner emailed me back the kindest email and resolved my concern instantly. He said Nautilus has been successful as a family owned business treating their clients with respect and with individual care.

We could use more business owners like Jim Hall! Thank You for resolving my issue with Grace and professionalism. I am sure the young lady who was not willing to help me has learned a lesson in customer service and diplomacy.

I just joined about a week ago for the sole purpose of the basketball court and so far I couldn't be happier. Everyone I've encountered at the gym/court has been pretty rad and nonjudgmental or aggressive and immature. My only small bugaboo is the hours are wonky but I'm very excited to finally have somewhere to go shoot hoops at and maybe eventually play some games, after a year of playing outdoors by myself lol. 4/14/25 Kudos to the owners and managers of Nautilus Sherman for hiring two incredible maintenance staff members, the likes of which the gym has possibly never before experienced. The mechanical maintenance man, who maintains all the exercise equipment as well as all facility maintenance, does an incredible job. When something breaks, he's on it immediately. He's aggressive, walks from one project to the next with enthusiasm and purpose. You never see him hiding in the corners. The housekeeping maintenance man really had his work cut out for himself when he took over the job about 3 weeks ago. In less than three weeks, he has cleaned corners and walls and floors that hadn't seen a mop in months. Drinking fountains are cleaned daily. Bathrooms are spotless and without odor. Equipment actually gets wiped down. He works methodically and thoroughly. These two guys have made a marked difference in the facility. The front desk staff is incredible--friendly and welcoming! Nautilus has outdone themselves, and anyone who was previously turned off by the housekeeping should definitely give this gym another try.

It's a great local gym and it's very spacious. I love that they provide personal training, too. Beth, my personal trainer is absolutely fantastic!! She plans really great workouts I've noticed a big difference since day one of my training session to today. I love this place because it is 24 hours and there's two different locations to go to so if you're like me and have anxiety and don't like being around big crowds you can always go to the second one which is over by 1417 and there's usually less people there late at night but there's also that not that many people during the the night. Clean, popular, and the management seems to care.. the classes were decent and the equipment is clean.. even the guests are approachable.. there a few one in denison amd the other in sherman. I go to both but denison is closer.. sherman location is larger by like 6 times the space, so it get busy at night, and the denison location we can go in 24 hours a day..

For the price, the value is here.. I can't find a better deal put here because it simply does not exist at the time.. Again, for the offer amd the price it's perfect.. and the people behind the counter are, in my book, pretty good!

And now there is “nothing they can do” about the roughly 50-60 bucks that they stole from me. Had I known that I still had a membership, I would’ve put it to some use. Do not use this gym, planet fitness or literally any other gym is much more understanding and won’t steal from your account without you knowing. Very unprofessional. Thats money practically down the drain. Who knows, they’ll probably keep my information to secretly charge my account in the future, also without me knowing.
Clearly it’s a pattern for them, since the last few reviews say the same thing happened to them. Screw this gym, go to a different one.

February 14th 2024 I walked into the gym and met a very nice, kind and amazing person named Justin. He works. The front desk is nice and kind and very helpful. So I was able to go and check out the water aerobics class which that's what I was looking for and was able to get in there and work out with the people in the aerobics class. The instructor named Tiffany is so awesome and amazing the nicest sweet kind person ever. I also the following day went to Tiffany's exercise class and water 💦 aerobics class on the 15th of February both of the class were awesome! Thank you! My husband and I started to work out at Nautilus Family Fitness Center over a year ago. This is something we both wanted to start getting back into again. We have enjoyed doing this together. We go to (The Nautilus Fitness Center) over off of hwy 75 and 82.
I have been needing some help regarding these last 2 charges on my bank account. Also, my key fob hasn't been working. And we have tried fixing it or having them fix it on the last 3 visits before this last one. And my fob still wasn't working.
So when we went this Saturday the 8th of April. The rep who was working upfront that day was ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT!! I wish I could remember his name. 1st-time I've seen him. I believe he was new or newer.
First time I've seen him. He had the best customer service skills we have seen at any place we have visited in a long g time. He went above and beyond to fix the issue and or find out who could correct it and then made sure it happened by following up. And for the wrong charges to our bank account. They fixed it by not charging us for the next 3 Mos.
That has been the only thing in the last year and few Mos. that we had any problems there and we highly recommend this gym... The cleanliness is outstanding and staff always seem happy to help if you need any.
Hope this helps anyone looking for a great place to workout at in this area.

I have never been so unsatisfied with a customer service. The workers have no idea what they are doing here. They don’t pick up phone calls and when they do they can’t answer standard questions. When they are able to answer standard questions it’s because they just give random answers not knowing if what they are even stating is true. Tatum who works the billing department apparently needs some help. She never picks up as well. Every time we are transferred it goes straight to voicemail. Nautilus has even called me and a lot of times I can’t pick up due to being a work but the one time I was able to pick up THEIR phone call they sent me to a voicemail… I have paperwork that has inaccurate dates. Overall the work ethic is horrendous.

I've never been a part of a gym. I was really nervous to start, but I signed up on the 1st and I freaking love this place. Always so clean and such a nice welcoming laid back atmosphere. I've used a ton of different machines and even taken a class for free. My daughter loves the kids klub and we've been going almost every day since! Thanks for making getting healthy so much fun

Every time you ask a question the person doesn’t know the answer and transfers you. They charged my husband and I over $200 that was unauthorized. One person responded with “we haven’t gotten to your paperwork yet so that’s why you keep getting charged”.

I was lied to and charged when it was not authorized. When I joined I was told I could add my son and he could come anytime with the key fob and when he came they told him I had to be there. Not a bad place to get a workout in. If you go anytime before 4pm. That's when it gets pretty crowded. Seems like they are fixing more equipment but still would be nice if they got some updated stuff!

Edit: they never addressed this situation but we ended up using this gym until we left and everyone besides that one lady was great.

My issue is with the owner, we got our platinum membership after asking about the minimum age requirement of using the workout floor multiple times. We were told by multiple staff members that the minimum age was 13. Perfect!

Well, this morning while working out with our children who are 13, the owner observed me doing my sets on the bench press. My son was waiting his turn. We do not allow our children to lift weights unsupervised to make sure that they are not injured. Our children are calm, not running around or messing with things, and take lifting and being healthly seriously.

The owner decided on the spot to change the minimum age on the floor to 14 because she said they were just watching. She then asked a staff member to let us know.

The owner watched for 2 minutes and made a bad judgment call. The staff has been fantastic and handled the situation with grace and understanding. Actually, besides this issue, its been great.

I've left my number for the owner to call me. Hopefully we can get this resolved because I've signed a year long contract with the understanding our our 13 yr olds would be able to use the equipment. Will update review after discussion with the owner.

EDIT: In response to the reply below. The staff had already verified the age of our children when we came in the door... I look forward to the call.

Worked out here while in town for about 5 weeks. Extremely good gym for people looking to bulk up; they have virtually every weight machine you could possibly want, several benches for barbell exercises, an extremely large set of dumbbells. This is not something you find at most gyms, as most gyms cater to people doing cardio and toning exercises to lose weight, so most tend to be light on the weight machines and free weights. This gym has lots of extra perks such as a pool, hot tub, children’s play area, massage chairs, basketball court, et al. None of that is my thing, but I think most of you are looking for those things, so there ya go. Oh, and the price seems very reasonable as well. Far cheaper than my gym back home anyway.

don’t get a trainer. they make you sign a contract that will force you to stay even if you no longer want the service, and they will charge u even if u tell them u can’t afford it. it’s a scam. also the pool got me sick.

Horrible experience recently I went in at 10:05pm with a friend and I Pay for 2 memberships (platinum I may add) and the gentleman at the front told me I couldn't bring in my friend because he was a guest but if im paying for 2! Separate memberships why on earth can I not bring someone with me. Me and my family have been going there for 7+ years and I'm just amazed that I got turned away after I explained my situation and that I pay for an extra max package membership and this is how I was treated. Not happy with the guy at the front desk.

Nice gym, they offered showers last year when weather was so cold we didn't have running water, after 7 days of no showering, I was so grateful. I signed up online and after a few weeks decided I'm not really a gym guy. I hadn't realized by signing up online that I was agreeing to a 1 year membership. So they wouldn't let me cancel. so if you sign up remember its for a year. There also doesn't seem to be distinguishing between different plans. there's no special sections that require additional scanning to enter. Not that it matters, but there really is no incentive to buy the expensive plan, because they all get you in the door and once your through you can do everything.

Not sure if all facilities are the same but I was invited as a guest to maybe sign up. Honestly it was super dirty... the machines are filthy, I looked in the Tanning room and there was garbage on the floor, a bandage with blood. This facility is not maintained at all. Very disappointed

I enjoy coming to this gym. The staff is friendly and people seem to be doing their own thing. The only problem is that they do not do maintenance requests well. I told them the bench in the handicapped shower was falling off the wall and nothing has been done...seems hazardous
