The website says all classes can be done even as a beginner. And though that may be true to the physicality of the classes, i felt very ashamed & let down after only my second class at Neko. My first class was hard but I got through it, even though I was in a full sweat & had to have assistance from the instructor, Alexandra. She was helpful, & had a warm inviting presence on my first time at the studio. My second class however, was bad from beginning to the end. Dani, the instructor i took for the second class as a new member, barely looked up from her phone when I walked in & explained that I didnt know where to sit as I had recently been added because I was on a waiting list for that day. It wasn't a big deal at first, maybe she was preparing music for the class? Who knows. But what was really upsetting was how she spoke in the mic during class. She had to re-adjust me a few times whenever we switched positions. But I felt like her giggles & small jokes were targeted toward me after this. There was a woman to my right who was killing it & was obviously a pilates pro. She joined in on the giggling as well with the instructor. It was like they knew each other, maybe? Or she was just joining in on the joke because I was obviously struggling & needed so much assistance. After the first 30 minutes of class I started to feel more & more unmotivated & ashamed. I started to feel my body buckle and just give up as I felt there were two woman on either side laughing at me. I went with a friend, but she showed up late and sat on the other end. I didnt tell her about this incident as I was embarrassed. But once I was home, I cried to my partner on how horrible I felt. Maybe im being dramatic, but id never thought that women around my age, would make me feel so awful. This is why many people are afraid to try new things.

I took my very first Pilates class today with Alejandra! It was a 10/10 experience. The class was fun, challenging and Alejandra was very attentive. She was patient and kind with all of her participants. The studio was also very clean with an elegant aesthetic. When I spoke with someone via their Instagram, I was also treated with great customer service. I definitely recommend this studio and I hope to return soon!

From beginning to end my experience has been 10/10 with Neko Pilates. I’m plus size so I messaged before even booking a class to make sure it was ok for me to go in and was instantly made to feel comfortable and encouraged to book my first class. I’ve since started the membership and have experienced 3 different instructors. All of which have made me feel comfortable and capable of completing the class even with all my breaks in between. I come in from corpus every week for work and it’s just been an awesome studio to go to in SA!

I took my first class i believe with the owner of the studio, and she was SO welcoming and kind. I am a beginner which is frightening when going to a new place but she gave a little demo ten minutes before class to show us a rundown of what we would be doing and cues to listen for so we wouldn't get lost. They have different classes you can sign up for, but I did the 'all levels' class and yes it can be a little difficult and you will be sweating, but it was absolutely doable. The instructor was motivating and showed us different variations in case people needed it. Not only welcoming though, but I also truly felt like I belonged. The instructors are genuinely friendly and passionate about their job which makes it more motivating to be there. Not only are the staff fun, but the studio itself is gorgeous!! There are hidden art pieces all around the studio and as a fellow cat lady, I love it!!

Let’s just say the flow is approachable, engaging yet challenging. The music’s elite and so is the location. A true gem in our beautiful downtown. I love having a weekly excuse to hit up the nearby small businesses after class for a coffee or breakfast taco before work. I enjoy being a part of an up and coming community in a historical district of San Antonio. Just another way to romanticize fitness and explore our unique city

I honestly loved the studio... the vibes were great, it was absolutely stunning. The instructor is fantastic and suuuper sweet. Also the music HIT, I was loving it... helped me power thru the burn.

Neko Pilates is such a unique and inviting studio! The owner and instructors provide a variety of workouts based on intensity and offer thorough instructions/tips throughout, along with modifications for each individual. I loved crushing my beginner friendly workout in such a well crafted and welcoming environment! Can’t wait to go back!

Beautiful Pilates studio instructor was very nice and helpful for beginners. You will definitely sweat I really enjoyed it I also like how beginner friendly it is a little fast pace for myself but you can definitely modify the position for your comfort, I did my strength and endurance is not very good right now so i took it slow and steady and was still able to keep up with the class. I would recommend and I'm going back again .
