Jose is a genius at what he does, truly!
I was introduced to Jose’s small group training through a close friend and I decided to participate in his classes for a month and now I’m feeling forever grateful that I did. As a person who absolutely hated the gym and had no sense of motivation for exercise, I never thought I’d see the day where I look forward to getting a daily workout in.
Jose approaches everything through education and technicality. He emphasizes form and technique and always ensures everyone feels confident with each exercise. He’s approachable, personable and genuinely cares about his clients and their well-being.
His group classes are structured very well. He takes the time to plan out each month/week/day and always ensures the workouts are different yet meaningful and beneficial.
If you’re looking for a trainer, consider no one else! Jose is THE one.

Jose is truly the trainer's trainer.
LJ Performance Center is where the paid athletes go. Being around fully adept, superstar athletes is very inspiring to go hard in your own workout. Talk about advancement!
Jose's workouts are fantastic. My body responded well to athletic training (coordination, speed, power) with very minimal cardio. His cues on tempo, keeping my toes down while lifting, and not overstretching my shoulders were all very helpful.
I am going on 4 years following him on IG. He knows his stuff and can communicate that well.

I recently finished my first month with José at his personal training - small group classes. The entire experience, from the initial assessment to regular check-ins, is carefully designed for personalized attention. Sessions start with foam rolling, stretching, and warm-ups, then engage in various activities like weights, machines, and outdoor drills, keeping each day fun and different while focusing on form and technique. José manages group dynamics seamlessly, catering to different levels without compromising quality.
Beyond his qualifications and professionalism, José creates a welcoming gym environment, aiming to make it inclusive and less intimidating. He also extends his expertise beyond the gym, aligning our fitness journey with broader community well-being goals, enriching our experience with a holistic approach. Jose is a dedicated and a UT educated strength trainer. My wife and I trained simultaneously with him for three months. I grew in strength using multi joint exercises. Jose is an excellent trainer! He's very personable, professional and definitely knows his stuff. He's always striving to be even greater in his field and is very knowledgeable. I had a lower back injury prior to starting with him and he is very careful about it eventually leading to its healing. About a year ago, I was deciding to hire a personal trainer to get more serious about my diet and physique. I found José through Instagram and his unique training methods and his personality immediately stood out as someone who is trying to do things different. His style of functional fitness always keep the workouts fresh and challenging. 30 days has turned in 10 months and José has exceeded my original expectations. José is a professional. He’s never been late or showed up in a “mood.” He’s always brought the energy to our “group therapy” sessions. His workouts and training methods are always well planned and tailors my health concerns such as a prior back injury. He remembers your weak points and knows when to push and when to back off.
The last 10 months have been an investment into my health and I am grateful for working with José because it’s changed how I see working out in the gym. If you are looking for someone, I’d highly recommend you use José.

If I could train with Jose everyday I would. I started with Jose because I seen how engaged and informative he was with his clients who came into the gym. I want to learn from him and what better way then to apply what he shows me to myself. I did have a lumbar spine injury that caused some limitations but thankfully we have definitely seen a noticeable improvement of spinal integrity. He never disappoints on any workout. I always leave feeling better than when I walked in! I really appreciate the time he takes to not only choose the appropriate exercise but he also explains why he chose that specific exercise and what it would help for me personally. I mean I can go on and on but Jose, thank you for being a great trainer, teacher, listener, and friend.

Jose was great to work with ! Our sessions always began on time and he made himself available for any questions I had throughout the session. I was provided new workouts that I would’ve never thought of and taught how to properly execute the movements to prevent injury. Jose would inform me of what muscle group should be activated and check in for feedback after the movement to make sure that I was not in pain , a different muscle group wasn’t being activated , etc. I definitely feel more confident using free weights at the gym vs just sticking to machines now ! I would recommend Jose as a trainer to anyone actively looking.

Jose really comprehends his client's goals and customizes their experience to match those goals. Beyond training, he also really understands recovery and how the body works to effectively work out without being a sore mess on a regular basis. Super knowledgable to the point where he can tell you why a certain muscle group is working or why yr body moves in certain ways in order to better understand what to do to avoid injury. How can I simplify my answer without missing so many critical factors as to how great of a personal trainer Jose is. First and foremost, he is equally passionate about having his clients reach their personal goals but also taking into consideration their injuries &/or limits. Jose makes sure you're comfortable enough, adjusting anything that is causing you pain or isn't working for your body to continue, finish & get a fulfilled workout. He's full of knowledge, this man is a bookworm, and I say that with the utmost respect. He is passionate about learning, inspiring, and sharing all the wisdom he collects through books and experience. Knowledge & Information is vital to him. You'll walk out of a session with him completely understanding that & leaving not only with a great workout but some wisdom to keep. His workouts are never dull. He changes it up every time, so you won't necessarily know what to expect. To me, it's a massive plus personally; if I know what's to come my mind presets the mood or effort I will put in the workout. I don't get bored, and that's very important if you're working with a trainer &/or just getting introduced to working out. He will introduce you to many different workouts, informs you about posture and makes sure you burn a great amount of calories in the process. I personally was doing his group training and even then he made sure to be attentive to each and everyone involved. I've trained with a couple of different trainers and he is by far the best that I've worked with thus far. I highly suggest him to anyone looking for a personal trainer, both new commer friends or friends that go to the gym daily but need some extra help to reach a desired goal. just know, you're in great hands if you chose to train with jose.

Jose is the man! His personal workouts are tailored exactly to his clients wants and needs. Whether you’re an athlete looking for that competitive edge or an average Joe just wanting to stay fit he’s the trainer for you. If you’re recovering from an injury or just have a nagging body ache or joint that won’t go away he will help identify the root of the problem and help you work certain muscles that will help strengthen the areas around the pain for support. Which results in less pain or you might even notice it subside altogether.
Also, if you want the intensity and expertise of a personal trainer workout but don’t have the money to cover those costs then I highly recommend attending one of his group workouts. They’re fun and full of camaraderie for all participants. Be sure to let Jose know if you have any ailments and he will still take the time to offer progressions to certain workouts or even offer an alternative to help alleviate those problem areas.
What I also enjoy about Jose is that he’s always learning and willing to tailor his training program based off new discoveries he came across while studying some book he’s got his nose in or from the many workshops he attends.
Lastly, I guarantee that you will not also gain an excellent trainer but a fantastic friend through conversing with him during his workouts. He’s great at delivering that extra encouragement to get in those last reps or push yourself to the finish line if you’re having an off day. He won’t just bark orders at you haha. Give Jose a shot and I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. But you gotta meet him halfway to see the results because at the end of the day he can’t lift those weights for you!

Ive been training with jose for about 2 years now and he is dynamite! I’ve researched other trainers in the greater Houston area and jose was simply what I was looking for. The facility he works at is very nice & the environment is warm & welcoming. jose is very personable, knowledgeable, and has a Philosophy similar to my own. He makes sure he explains each workout and how it effects the body and what muscle group each workout targets. Training is an investment physically and financially but who better to invest in than yourself. I train w jose 3x a week and he is always up beat and Orchestrates workouts to ensure maximum results. Jose Genuinely cares about the well being of his clients and makes sure we know we are not in this fitness alone. He also provides nutritional Guidance, healthy habits to practice outside of the gym, and also weekly check ins to stay locked in with each of us.

He challenges you at times because he believes in you and knows that you can complete the workout. If I could give him more stars I would. I trained with Jose @ LJPT and had an awesome experience! I had never worked with a trainer before and there was so much I felt I didn’t know about different workouts/ form/ nutrition etc and Jose was patient and explained everything to me in great detail. He’s a great teacher and you can tell he really loves what he does and is passionate about his clients reaching their goals. While he was out of town, he created a spreadsheet to track my workouts in order to stay updated on my progress as well as emailed a document with workouts I could do. I found this to be so helpful and really appreciated Jose going above and beyond to help me get the most out of training! I hate going to the gym but when I know I have a session with him scheduled wether it’s one on one or flex training, I look forward to it and actually enjoy it. If you want a trainer that’s all in for you and doesn’t hesitate to answer questions you have wether it’s during a session or after start training with him. Early in the year I had shoulder repair surgery and of course had physical therapy for it. I was hesitant to get back into doing my normal routine workouts. I personally know Jose and I explained to him my concerns. He helped me approach my workout in a way where it will keep me safe from reinjury and even any other injuries. He showed me form and proper lifting technic. I also lost 30lbs with his help and I am in better physical shape than I ever was. He is very educated on nutrition as he is in physical training. I will highly recommend him for any of your goals in exercise and in nutrition you want to achieve.

Jose is an awesome trainer. With him, you won’t get a cut and paste across the board workout. He tailors your workouts based on your personal fitness goals and needs. With his help, I was able to reach my fitness goals while actually enjoying our workouts (which is usually difficult for me). He also provides nutritional advice and recipes to help you along the way. I’d recommend and have recommended him to everyone!

Jose is a great trainer and though we focused on full body development, he listened and paid special attention to the areas that I was particularly interested in developing. He took the time to demonstrate proper technique to prevent injuries. I also appreciate that he would send me programs to complete while traveling and consistently checked in on my eating habits. Jose is absolutely great. I was able to find Jose through a friend who has trained with him for awhile now and she looks amazing. Though my time with Jose was short, he did a great job getting me where I needed to be with workout plans and by motivating me to push myself beyond my limits. I also have reoccurring knee problems and he has helped me work through that as well. He is personable and dedicated to making sure you are where you want to be with your body and health!

When I came to Jose I had recently been in a car accident and had reoccurring back issues. I was worried about injuring my back doing heavy lifts but I was also looking to get stronger. Jose assured me that he would create a program that would help me by teaching me how to prioritize spine mechanics and increasing my over core strength. We started off slow but once we got going I noticed that I was progressing and getting stronger. Jose really listened to me and made me feel like the training experience was all about me. I'd recommend him to anyone who is looking to get stronger in a safe and effective manner.

Jose is a brilliant trainer. I came to Jose because I wanted to obtain a strong foundation for strength training. Internet sources had pointed me in every possible contradictory direction, and I had no idea what was important for a strength routine. Jose paid spectacular attention to detail in helping me achieve my goals. He taught me key compound lifts that make for the core of an efficient workout routine, he gave me a multitude of cues so that I could remember proper form on all of the more complicated lifts we went over, and he explained to me which choices in an exercise routine are necessary for safety and results, and which are simply matters of personal preference and comfort. Jose has great practical and theoretical intuition on working out, as he both practices what he preaches and stays up to date on the academic literature on exercise science.

Jose is amazing as a trainer and person. He is educated, knowledgeable and has a true passion for fitness and nutrition.
His workouts are challenging and if you follow his nutritional guidelines and stay consistent with training you will see amazing results. I am a perfect example. I always tell him that he started off with just bones with me. I had no muscle mass and had never played sports or lifted weights before. Under his guidance, I am in the best shape of my life, even though I am in my early 40's. I owe that all to Jose and his expertise as a trainer. One of my proudest moments to date was being able to lift twice my weight on a hip thrust. I never imagined I would be able to do that. He's truly the best and his help doesn't stop after you are done with your training session. He provides you with the nutritional tools and motivation you need to have the body you want.

I've personally known Jose Silva since HS and he's always been a fitness enthusiest, so when I found out he was making his passion his profession I knew I had to try and make a positive change in my life with his help. Not only is his knowledge of his field extensive, and his direction concise, but its the human aspect he puts into each of his clients that makes him different from your run of the mill personal trainer. You genuinly get the sense that he cares and he wants to work just as hard as you to attain your goal. An excellent P.T. my older brother recomeneded. I wasn't much of athlete my whole life and Mr. Silva took that into consideration when making my routines. He was always very patient but still demanded the most out of me, sometimes even more then i demanded of myself. I had been working out on and off before I met Jose. I've always enjoyed working out but as I've gotten a bit older things have become more hectic. I was looking for a trainer to really give me direction and help me with my nutrition. I just need someone to guide me and hold me accountable. Jose really goes out of his way to make sure that you're doing what you're supposed to do in and outside of the gym. He showed me how I could make eating healthy a part of my lifestyle without completely sacrificing my social life.
