Minx + Muse has to be THEE best dance studio in Austin. I started attending classes here just under a year ago when I moved to Austin, and I immediately felt welcomed and comfortable. I've been to another pole studio in Tampa and 2 others in Austin, and this one is by far the best. Every class is unique and a joy to lose oneself in. The owner of this business and every one in every class I've attended have been so welcoming. The space is perfectly curated, feels safe and sexy, and is delightfully witchy. As someone who has struggled with caring about what others think and feeling confident with my body, these classes have changed my life. So very grateful to have found this studio. I've been taking classes for a few months and every single teacher does such a fantastic job of making me feel comfortable and at home.

They do everything at the studio with intention. From the curation of the physical space to the containers created by the instructors during class, they've cultivated a safe, welcoming environment that allows me to explore new forms creative expression all while feeling held and witnessed by a caring community. Each session starts with a group check-in, sharing how we are feeling going in and with intention setting for the class. It allows me to slow down, get out of my head an into my body so I'm ready to move.

Minx + Muse is so much more than a dance studio, it's a place for personal development, growth, and expansion of the spirit. My own growth has involved becoming more comfortable being witnessed and embracing my femininity but others in the studio have their own diverse reasons for dancing.

Minx & Muse was the very first studio I wanted to be involved in when I moved to Austin. I have always been attracted to sensual movement and feminine magic. I finally stopped telling myself excuses (work, body dysmorphia, social anxiety, etc) and allowed myself the opportunity to just be a beginner. As a natural introvert with anxious tendencies, I tend to feel uncomfortable in new places or situations. Everyone, teachers and students alike, made me feel so comfortable and right at home!! After my first class (Pole Virgins with Ruby, 10/10 recommend!!), I went home and pretty much immediately signed up for a membership because I just knew Minx + Muse was something I needed in my life.

After a month and many classes later, I feel even more passionate about everything Minx + Muse offers and continue to see my own emotional, physical, and mental growth through their offerings. We came to M+M for a friend's bachelorette weekend to take a group pole class, and the entire experience was absolutely wonderful! JoJo, our instructor, was friendly, funny, extremely supportive, and willing to go at whatever pace we needed. She provided clear instructions and gave tips, and never made any of us feel awkward or ashamed by our bodies or ability level. It was clear that, as beginners, our goal was to have fun and not stress about being good or getting things right! My girls planned the “Dark Goddess Immersive Party”. I was looking for something a little different than the traditional pole dancing class. I wanted some thing that would help me in my journey to learning how to be sexy and this definitely did it. It was led by the most wonderful sensation doula (Syreeta). She made us feel like we were the queens we are. She got to know us, she helped us open us, she gave us confidence, she became our friends, and gave us practical things that we can use for us and our significant others. I came to Minx+Muse through watching a friends blossoming and thinking to myself… “I want to feel that freedom” and “how did she do that?” I started with the intro series. When I started taking sensual dance classes in 2017 in Dallas, I learned techniques and choreography, and at the time, that was what I needed as I had no prior dance history. As the years rolled on, my body wanted something deeper and richer but I wasn't sure where to go. Around that time, my interest in astrology and African and ancient spirituality started to pique and I found myself wanting something that allowed me to go even deeper into myself sensually while also embracing my other interests as well.

I have been coming here for about a year and every single thing they do is impeccable. I can walk in having a challenging day and by the time I leave I feel like the sexiest, most capable woman walking the planet. All of the staff are skilled and know what's going on in the studio and other classes, something I find rare in group studios. I first discovered this studio on Instagram, and was instantly smitten. It crushed me to find out they were based in Texas, because I live in a different state. But for covid they opened up virtual classes, and I'm so glad they did! I've taken floor work, pole, belly dance, tarot and other witchy classes from them. Even just meeting everyone virtually you can tell the environment is open and welcoming. As soon as it was available I purchased a virtual membership and it's been the best thing I did in 2020. Every time I leave this studio, I walk out feeling empowered and embodied and overall just amazing. The dance classes are really fun and accessible. I've been dancing for a lot of my life, but people in some of the classes I've taken have just started dancing and I feel like you get so much out of the dance classes no matter the experience level. The non-movement classes are very community based and from my first time in one of these classes, everyone was inclusive, welcoming, and supportive and I have learned a lot through those classes. I am fairly new to Austin, and this is a community that I have really enjoyed becoming a part of since moving here.

I love taking classes here at Minx + Muse. All the instructors are wonderful and very knowledgeable about what they’re teaching. Classes are diverse and range from dance, to stretch classes, to educational and knowledge sharing of chosen topics. The classes are also smaller sized so it’s more intimate..you never feel like just another number. Some classes even start with going around the room and introducing yourself, so no one feels like a stranger. The atmosphere is very warm and relaxed, and everyone there is friendly and supportive of each other. It’s become my favorite place to unwind.

Y’all this place is the real deal. I’m overweight and they really helped me learn at my pace and now even I can do a fireman’s spin on a pole ! Every instructor is a genuine, warm human being who wants you to succeed.

Minx + Muse has become my number one, favorite place to be in Austin. Seriously. This beautiful space is warm and welcoming, and the community that it encompasses is inclusive, encouraging, and inspiring. I started attending classes last year and in that time I've grown physically stronger and gained a lot of confidence about body. I signed up for a class looking to try a type of dance that was new and out of my comfort zone. I swear, I had a bit of a spiritual experience after taking the Intro to Esoeroticism class for the first time. I'd never moved my body and expressed myself that way before, and it was one of the most freeing things I'd ever done. Everything about Minx + Muse is amazing. The decor is dark, warm, and witchy, the instructors are always really encouraging, and the classes are fun and have a lot of variety. The owner, Crimson, teaches a lot of the classes. She has a ton of energy and is has created a really welcoming community. As a man exploring an activity that is usually very feminine in a space that is very feminine, I've always felt very welcome.

I don't have much of a background in dancing but the classes here are setup so no matter what your skill level is there is a class for you. Every time I enter their doors I feel a sense of relief. Crimson is a force of light. She has put so much love into the place you can feel it. Additionally, M+M instructors are like no other. Everyone is extremely welcoming and accepting. I love every class but my all time favorite is House of Venus led by Tara on Tuesdays. It is a freestyle class but don't let that scare you because this class will change your life for the better. All forms and styles of dance are highly encouraged. You really get a chance to tap into unexplored parts of your own self expression through dance that you never dared went before. I've completely fallen in love with this studio. The teachers are extremely skilled and very supportive. They really encourage everyone to make the moves their own from the beginning, and to explore what it means to be feminine, sexy, and empowered through movement. I love the floor work classes- they are so challenging! The classes are usually choreography based with a solid muscle-building warm up at the beginning and a freestyle section at the end. Where dance classes often focus just on what your body should do, these also challenge you to observe how the movement makes you feel, and how feelings make you move. Also the community of dancers here is so great and supportive! I cannot say enough nice things this studio is a complete gem.
