While one can avail of personalized fitness instruction in many places in the Fort Hood area, it is only with Heather Nusbaum at Nutree Fitness where I feel that I am working with someone who truly understands that the only gain there is to pain is in letting you know there is something wrong and that pushing through pain is not the answer to health, fitness and well-being. I have been struggling with chronic pain for several years and it has been agonizing to accept the scope of activities that I can do that will not trigger any pain or body misalignment. During one of my own trainings (I am a registered yoga teacher at the 500hr level, certified in the Essential Low Back Pain Program and MuTu® system), I came across the MELT® Method, a hands off bodywork technique that allows people to address held and stuck stress in their bodies using patented balls and soft rollers. I was hoping that these techniques could help me manage my low back and sacroiliac issues, and started searching for instructors close to my area. I was beyond happy to find Heather in the Fort Hood area and see that she was certified in both Hand and Foot ball self- care techniques and soft roller bodywork, and have been working with her for almost a year (mostly with MELT and lately with customized TRX training). I have been impressed with Heather’s understanding of the mind and body in motion, sickness and in health and her continuing fitness education pursuits. My medical issues have been evolving, and I now have a select team of medical, allied and alternative health providers that have helped me find the answers and manage my health and well-being; Heather is an integral part of that team. When you work with Heather, you will be under the care of a corrective exercise specialist who doesn’t just happen to know how to adapt a fitness regimen to those with limitations, but someone who has lived through her own limitations and is dedicated to serve people with chronic medical conditions, trauma and PTSD. Heather and Nutree Fitness are an invaluable addition to the health, wellness and fitness community in the Fort Hood area.

I enjoy the Paws the fitness classes and the small group fitness classes. The Melt classes are also amazing! Heather is very good about customizing each work out to suit one's individual needs.
