My first time doing yoga and this was a wonderful experience. The studio is gorgeous and my instructor was thorough and clear. I felt supported with modifications to help make the poses comfortable. My husband came with me and enjoyed the time as well!

Lovely and welcoming space - as a first timer I really appreciated the greet and walk through before class from Brandon. Alia was a patient and joyful instructor and it was the perfect easing in after several years off the mat. Can confirm chocolate wafer was available and tasty, and the entire space is thoughtfully arranged for maximum comfort. I hope to grab another class soon ❤️

I bought a week pass to Oak + Lotus because it's conveniently 3 minutes from my house. I was pleasantly surprised by this cozy, urban oasis! The yoga instructors are so personable and give in-depth classes that are modified to individual and group needs. The location is tucked away from the main road and, although the curb appeal is limited, walking in transports you to a rustic, magical oasis that immediately invites you to drop all the day's stress at the door and be fully present. It is a warm, intimate, nurturing, inclusive space that I can't wait to return to!

Oak + Lotus Yoga is a beautiful and affordable yoga studio that is home to a vibrant community of incredibly kind people from all walks of life, shapes and sizes, who range from complete yoga novices to experts. It is tucked away in an unassuming building behind a car repair shop, but once step inside, you'll find yourself in a magical, inviting place that somehow instantly melts away all the stress from the outside world. Owner and founder Alia Khan and all the Oak + Lotus instructors are so friendly and genuinely want to help you start or keep perfecting your yoga practice. They meet you where you are and welcome you as you are. That is also the vibe across the studio members; everyone supports and encourages each other. I always feel safe and welcome at Oak + Lotus; I never have to worry about the brand of yoga leggings I'm wearing or if my pedicure and manicure are fresh. Did I mention how kind everyone is? Because everyone there, both the instructors and the other members, are so kind. Plus, there's more than just yoga classes at Oak + Lotus; there are also workshops and special events (and most of them are included in your monthly membership fee), as well as gatherings for new parents to bring their babies. And yes, there really is always chocolate.

Alia is such an inspiring and kind teacher. She meets you where you're at in your yoga practice and creates an inclusive environment to grow and learn. Not only does she offer a variety of yoga classes, but she is actively building other community offerings to provide space to come together and engage in conversation and activities. Plenty of parking, easy check-in, mat rentals, no mirrors, encouraging inclusive environment. This is truly a south Austin gem.

This studio & the owner, Alia, are BY FAR the BEST in Austin!!! Alia is SO kind, compassionate, & truly cares about her clients/students. When I had injured myself (outside of the studio), she was quick to help share some helpful suggestions and to support my needs.

This studio is more than just a yoga studio. It’s a community. I highly recommend Alia and Oak & Lotus Yoga! ☺️

I am so happy to have found Oak + Lotus! Their studio space, staff, clientele, and classes are exactly what I’ve been looking for. This all supports a genuine and heartfelt yoga practice. The studio owner, Alia, felt like a long-time friend the first time I met her. I also really like Laura’s classes and her use of rocket yoga/ashtanga foundations like ujjayi (ocean breath) breathing. It helps my practice reach a different level of calm and clarity. Look no further for a welcoming and friendly studio with solid class offerings and teachers.

Oak and Lotus is truly a gem! From the moment you step in, you're greeted with such a warm and welcoming community that it feels like a second home. The studio itself is beautifully designed—spacious, serene, and full of calming energy that makes every practice feel special. And the little touch of chocolate at the end of class? Absolute perfection! It’s such a thoughtful way to wrap up the experience and leaves you feeling both nourished and appreciated. I can’t recommend this place enough for anyone looking to deepen their practice while being part of an incredible community. 🌿🧘‍♂️🍫

I’m no stranger to a yoga studio, and let me tell you… This was THE most inviting, body positive, welcoming, warm-vibe studio I’ve ever experienced. The front desk staff greeted me and showed me around…classmates said “hello”…and tea & chocolates were given afterwards! I took the candle-lit yin class from Shay, and it was positively blissful. Shay was super knowledgeable, approachable, and soothing, and I loved that she had a lovely deck of intention cards to draw from if you wanted. It was a perfect way to wind down after a long week!!

Shay Grabowski treated me to a yoga class one Sunday evening recently. Full disclosure, I’m not very well versed in yoga. Went once to a class and could barely move for a couple days afterwards. Went a couple times to other classes and was non plussed. This was right in the middle! It was lovely! I was right next to Shay and a fellow neighbor. Highly recommend! Enjoyed a piece of chocolate on my way out too. Go check out her classes! You won’t be disappointed. Next time my kids are in town and want to go to yoga, we’ll be there! Such a great addition to our community! 🙏 Thank you Shay!

I got the $20 all-access pass for my first week and I was hooked! The instructors and students here are so genuine and kind. It’s sort of an understatement to say it’s a ‘no-judgment’ place. It doesn’t even seem to enter anyone’s mind that there is anything to judge. There’s just exploring and celebrating what our bodies can do 🥰

Please update the schedule on your website. It says baby and me classes are Saturdays at 1:30. I drove over an hour to get here for the Saturday 1:30 pm baby and me class. I was SO excited to have something to do with my baby that we could both enjoy, but I was very disappointed when I got here and the door was locked and no lights on.

Oak + Lotus Yoga is the best studio I’ve ever been a part of, by a long shot. It is a community of kind-hearted people who just want to share their wonderful yoga practice. They are clearly committed to their mission to welcome all bodies types and ages, offering modifications at every level. I found this studio when I was five weeks pregnant and it changed my life. Not only did I have a very healthy pregnancy, I believe it helped my mental health and made my birth experience easier. I was back to classes after 5 weeks and can’t wait to take my baby to her first Baby and Me yoga class next weekend! If I could give Oak+Lotus 6 stars, I would.

Gorgeous space. It's like a secret garden.
Staff is unbelievably kind and knowledgeable.
Honestly, I've been looking for a yoga home since moving to Austin 8 years ago. One that practices with inclusion and still focuses on yoga's origins. I've finally found it.

I find that most studios in ATX are focused on what to wear and they also often omit the Sanskrit words for the asanas. Oak and Lotus is the real deal.

I've already signed up for my next class.
XOXO

I appreciate the community atmosphere at this studio. People introduce themselves and show interest in each other. The teachers pay attention to each person's needs according to their body. It's very peaceful and welcoming. If you are a first-time yogi this would be a very non-judgemental and safe space for you to practice. I love how they give students a way to specify whether they do or don't want to be touched by the teacher during a class.

Highly recommend Oak + Lotus Yoga studio! They've got a wonderful and affordable monthly plan that gives you the most "bang for your buck." The space is thoughtfully laid out and the open concept makes it so you don't feel cramped in. There are mats, blankets, blocks, etc for your use, along with eye masks that can be used during the winddown at the end. The staff are extremely helpful and kind and the teachers are all wonderful. Classes are laid out as "mild, medium, and spicy" which is a clever way to denote the difficulty level. Overall, highly recommend this space and it's a wonderful hidden gem of a studio.

Oak & Lotus has created such a welcoming, calming and accessible space to practice yoga. I worked at the studio when it was based in DC and so cherish the community Alia built there that I’ve followed it (virtually) to Texas! Even through Zoom, you get personal instruction and cues and still very much feel like you’re part of the class all from the comfort of your home. It’s an environment that can’t be matched by other online offerings. Thank you Oak & Lotus!

I started taking classes at Oak + Lotus about two months ago in an attempt to become more active after knee surgery this past summer. I try to get in 3 to 5 mild or medium level classes each week and have taken the new foundations class.
This is a no pressure studio! The pace of class is really smooth and the atmosphere of the space is soothing. the verbal cuing given during class is detailed so that you move through the poses with good form and modifications are offered throughout for making poses easier or more intense.
All of the instructors have been so amazing! They usually check in with participants before class to see if anyone has issues they are dealing with and they hang out after class to answer questions or just chat. I especially appreciate the time they are willing to take to work with me to modify poses to accommodate my injury.
I leave every single class better for having been there!

The vibe of this place is so lovely. You really feel like you are a part of the community and they grow to know who you are!! It's definitely the most comfortable I've felt in terms of "all bodies welcome" as the teachers and owner are genuinely friendly and supportive. The space/decor is pretty and there's lots of props to borrow as needed plus changing rooms if you're coming to/from work. The online component seems interactive tho I haven't tried it yet. I feel like the prices are reasonable. I really look forward to coming back every time I leave.

I can't recommend this place enough, and I don't know how I will ever find another studio this good. The ambience is incredible once you walk in. Yummy infused water and chocolate all the time! I was pregnant during my time coming to classes, and I loved the prenatal classes and the Medium flow classes that the instructors taught me how to adjust my needs with. It's a little tricky to find the place, so make sure you give yourself plenty of time your first time. All of the yoga instructors are incredible and invested in you. The owner, Alia, is super responsive and helpful. They give plenty of opportunities to give feedback and are always wanting to know how to make your practice more meaningful. They take a lot of special efforts to make the place be a mental break whenever you can make it through the door! I'm not great at being on time to class, and they let me in right after the centering they do at the beginning if I am late. Once your class is finished, they have a really cozy area to visit with people and connect. The instructors check in with every person pretty much every class, and are always ready to answer questions about your practice. I could go on forever about this place! This place has made me so much better in every way.

Took my frist class today and LOVED IT. Been looking for a more chill and relaxed type of yoga studio that is not so heavily focused on more rapid paced position changes, and cramming a lot of people in a large space. The classes are more intimate and there is a couple of beginner level classes taught several times a week that are outside the 8-5 hours. Love the set up and the waiting area, and the studio is properly padded unlike... let's say a certain colored bird studio. Instructions are easy to follow and I didn't feel like I had to panic and look to other students for reference. Their packages are priced decently and will totally sign up when my trail period ends!

This is such a wonderful new yoga studio in south Austin. The owner Alia and teachers have all been amazing! It’s been years since I’ve been physically active due to some chronic illnesses I’m coming back from. They have been caring, welcoming and they really know their stuff! I feel fortunate to have received a lot of individualized instruction focussed on my needs and healing goals. After three weeks of regular practice I’m feeling major changes in stress levels, sleep, posture, strength, and flexibility. There are classes for all levels and body types in this beautiful converted warehouse space. It has such a good energy! They also have very good prices for the high quality instruction and environment. ❤️

This is a tucked away gem. I am new to yoga so I had no idea what to expect. You drive into what is a steel industrial area and there it is. Walk in and its warmly lit plus a comfortable seating area. The high ceilings give the space an airiness. I've taken a few different types of classes medium, mild, and what I call "sleepy time". You can rent a mat if you don't have one (which was helpful when I had left mine right at the door so I wouldn't forget it).

So the instructors/teachers have been super helpful with me being new to the practice. Even with all the wobbling and awkwardness I feel like I am welcomed here. I would totally recommend this place to everyone. I can't wait to take a SPICY class!
