I love this gymnastics facility!!! I am high maintenance and tend to need to reschedule my daughter often so I'm always calling and talking with April who is just the best. She is always kind, understanding and super patient with me and all my needs. She is very good at her job and makes everything so easy. I love her and hope she never leaves!!!!! Thanks April!

EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT

This gym has taken a serious decline in the last 7 months. The turnover rate for coaches is extremely high. The communication from the gym is nonexistent, even if there is a serious problem. We have been in Junior Olympics training for the last 3 years, and the training schedule has changed 4 times in the last 4 months, and the indication is that the owner does not wish to continue this program. There are over 20 JO athletes, some of them having gone here for over 10 years. The athletes are leaving even faster than the coaches, finding other options in the area if possible. I have made decisions about my life based on this gym and with all of these changes, I have not heard one time from the owner. I have pulled my daughter from training here, though I do not have any good option and I feel that she will lose all of the amazing skills that she was taught here over the years, before they lost their staff. I do not recommend this gym for your child, if you are interested in learning gymnastics. If you just want an after-school daycare, I suppose it's decent.

This is my original review:
Olympia Hills is a great place! My daughter has been going here for a little over a year, and we all love it. The instruction is so good and she has made so much progress in her skill set. They offer XCEL, and JO gymnastics programs, and Cheer, so no matter what your goals are for your little one, OHG can take over and you can watch your kids improve. Safety is always the priority, and the coaching staff make sure everyone stays safe! Whether it's little tumblers or advanced cheer or gymnastics. The staff is also focused on cleaning. There are usually multiple staff members tidying up and disinfecting the gym. They offer an aftercare program as well ( after school pickup available from many local schools) and day camps for non school days. Camp days are always a big hit with my kiddos! Highly recommend!

My daughter enjoys her tumbling classes there. We had to change classes a few times due to her dance schedule and I'm so grateful they were able to find a class for her. Tumbling is to help with her dance. Coach Connor is patient, easy going and helpful.

At this place, I see my child having to do all these exercises at the very end of her class for no reason whenever she should be on vault, and that’s what the paper reads she even told me that she had to be faced down with the gravity, hitting her for over a minute in this push-up Position She said that her coach was too lazy to move these formats so they just decided to do exercises on the floor. This is a horrible experience. Please never come here.

A year ago my daughter started at this gym and now she just competed on the level 2 team. I have to say the progress she’s made in just a few months is very impressive. The coaches really care that each of their gymnasts reaches their full potential. The coaches are amazing! Safety is always their number one priority. The office staff is always very helpful. I would definitely recommend Olympia hills to my friends and family!

Both of my children go to Olympia Hills Gymnastics. We love the Coaches, Staff and gym as well as the environment. My children are extremely happy and always come home smiling wanting to "show off" what they have learned. My son has taken Rec Classes and just adores his Coaches and time on the mat while my daughter is getting ready to compete level 7. Neither one can get enough of the gym, and having your kids be more passionate about physical activity as opposed to electronics and screen time today is beyond a miracle. I cannot speak highly enough about this gym, their staff and their coaches and highly recommend anyone considering enrolling their children in gymnastics to come here.

Our family has been at Olympia Hills Gymnastics for approximately 2 years now. We came here specifically for Coach Shelby and have been thrilled not only with her as a Coach but at the establishment and other Coaches and Staff as a whole.
Having come from a prior gym, we knew what we were wanting from a professional gymnastics establishment. The owners were extremely welcoming, giving us not only a trial to see if their gym was the right fit for our daughter, but made sure to check in with us to see if their establishment was meeting our expectations. Both of the owners check in on the kiddos and see how they are progressing as well as give their professional coaching opinions and help (yes, both owners have coaching experience as well - so there is no need to worry that it is simply a business rather than a passion). Unlike the other gym where we came from, Olympia Hills has a very positive, family friendly environment where you know your child is not only in the hands of professionals, but in the hands of Coaches who truly care and want to see them succeed. Anytime myself or my husband has any questions in regards to training or fees or schedules all we have to do is simply ask and each and every time our questions are professionally answered and not just that but in a very timely manner. And, speaking of timely manner the communication between Coaches and families is incredible. We receive email communications and reminders in regards to schedules, holiday schedules, special events, competitions, hotel information for competitions, etc. weeks and months in advance. There is never any doubt as to what the plan is and what steps are in place to make sure the plan comes to fruition. Our daughter always looks forward to her training days and consistently asks on her off days when she can practice next. She takes the things she learns from both Coach Shelby and Coach Val (they are her two main Coaches) as well as other Coaches that help with the gymnasts and is so excited to show us what she has learned and practices her skills at home. The other gym we came from did not create the same sense of love and passion for the sport as much as Olympia Hills does. She loves her teammates and works well with them and always looks forward to their Friday fun games they get to do together as a group. Or their dress up days and fun summer activities that the Coaches and Staff plan for the kiddos. Anytime there is any concern from the Coaches that she might be sore or tired or potentially even injured we receive a call and/or message immediately. Because of their keen eyes and swift communication our daughter has been able to avoid any ailment (minus a bone bruise she got from a non-gymnastics related injury) that would hinder her from being healthy and happy. Coach Shelby was the one who so quickly called to notify my husband and I that she noticed our daughter was putting less pressure on one of her hands during practice one day and recommended we take her to her doctor, which we did. Her Doctor said it was a slight bone bruise caused when she had fallen on some concrete over the weekend with my husband and I. We were so grateful for Coach Shelby, because if she had not spotted this during practice our daughter could have injured herself further and gotten seriously hurt. But due to her caring nature and compassion for each of the gymnasts, she caught the injury before my husband or I did and made sure baby girl stayed off of it and let it heal during practices. While the gym is smaller than the other one we came from it is very clean and tidy and the Coaches do an excellent job making sure all classes and teams share the space and equipment safely during practices. Choosing to switch to Olympia Hills has been the best decision we could have made for our daughter and cannot speak highly enough about this gym.

This place gets worse and worse every time. My daughter has been here for a year and half. The place my daughter once used to enjoy going to, has turned into a chaotic, unprofessional place. Half of the time the girls don't even know what to do. No one is really "teaching" these girls. We miss the old teachers who would actually get their hands dirty and teach. For my daughter to come out mid class and tell me, she wanted to leave, that was enough for me. Very disappointed.

Need’s improvement’s, and those know know what I am talking about. Aside from the obvious β€œThis is our only choice” can we seriously just open a second one!? Nobody can sit or watch their children! This is a shared experience between a parent and child. Sure I could sit in the car and chain smoke, but I’d rather at least physically be in the building sitting on the floor buying warm beverages from the snack machine. WE ALL FEEL THIS WAY.
However, wonderful staff! What can we do as a community to get a second gym? Everything is not bigger in this part of Texas.

We have been going there for a year. My daughter is Deaf and communicates through ASL. The say they have a teacher who is fluent yet she does not understand my daughter and struggles to even model what needs to be done leaving my daughter with zero communication.

When I requested an ASL interpreter they said they are not legally required. This is NOT true. The ADA law states that they just provide communication in the form of communication that works for the consumer. They believe they can write to communicate with my 9 year old. They also said they have pictures and written directions for all of the activities. They do not.

After working with Travis County Deaf/HH Services to provide training to their staff and an interpreter for free to them, they still do not understand why my daughter needs instructions in ASL.

We had a ton of make up classes since they continued to charge us at the beginning of the pandemic when they were not open and there were multiple instances where there was no access for my daughter and we had to miss classes. Today, the make ups ran out. They approached me after class and said the class is full and she can be on a wait list. Funny enough it’s the exact same class that the free interpreting services were stopping and they have to take responsibility.

The owners and managers are all about money and do not care about accommodating children that have other needs. Please think twice before giving them your money.

The make up tokens for the classes that can be miss unexpectedly during this COVID times are the plus and office are so helpful and understanding in setting up the make up classes.

We moved from Kansas City to Buda for my daughters to be coached my Jeff. It’s a top notch facility, open viewing for parents, and a safe atmosphere for my kids to train. All four of my daughters have excelled and my oldest competing for a NCAA division 1 top rated gymnastics program. This is the place to go for a high quality gymnastics program.

It's ok. My daughter loves gymnastics but my main complaint is the seating area. So hard to see the gymnastics when cheerleading takes up the entire floor. The moms dominate the chairs. Saving seats for other moms on the way. I pay money too and would like to watch my daughter as well.My daughter barely gets to practice on the floor. The cheerleading coaches always stand in the way. Literally ever time I go to watch my daughter or take a pic they are smack dab in the way. Maybe make cheerleading later???

I love OHG. This is the second year my youngest has been doing gymnastics. My oldest joined her this year. The teachers are great and my children are learning great skills they can use in many activities, not just gymnastics. The parents night out is great and the open gym time for under 5 is fabulous.

Took my child here for their spring break camp. It was a joke. They were frustrated having to redirect preschool age kids to follow directions. They are kids & they need constant direction at this age. I have never taken my kid somewhere where he comes back saying the kids were fighting him. Of course my kid was upset!!!! Who was watching them? I paid to take my kid to have fun while I was at work & it was everything but that. He left so upset. My child even went for a try out class where I watched him learn nothing while the two young coaches sat on the floor and talked to each other for most of the time. There is also NO air condition either in the waiting room. Very negative & bad experience.

Their after school program is a joke. They do not keep a good eye on the kids and the staff are rude. If you think your children will learn anything having to do with gymnastics think again (even though the site suggests otherwise). Also if you withdraw early, they do not pro rate a refund.

I reached out to Olympia Hills with the idea of doing a summer cheer camp for 40 middle school girls with little to no cheer experience. They were excited about the opportunity, we discussed a fair price and my expectations for the girls at the end of the 4 day camp….The camp ended today and they exceeded all of my expectations for the girls. Krystal and all the teachers are fantastic, they all build material incrementally, focus on proper technique to avoid injury, and explain the material clearly. Not a single girl got hurt all week! Everyone had tons of fun learning chants, cheers, a choreographed dance, jumps, stunting and tumbling. They provided snacks and sprinkled in fun team-building games for the girls to bond and get to know each other. The girls were challenged and forced to leave their comfort zone to try new things, and Krystal was always super nice and encouraging, but honest and held the girls accountable. There were a few tears shed, but she reminded them that making mistakes is how we learn and grow. They were all very proud of themselves by the end of the 4 days. I would definitely recommend Olympia Hills!

South Austin location was fine for Pre-K. Skeleton crew, it seemed. It does not have that exciting energy the main one (in Buda) has. High turnover of staff but what do you expect? Given the region and job, I would assume staff would typically be filled by university students; not a middle-aged Russian former Olympian...so, understandable. Some staff were friendlier than others. I think it may be more of a matter of whether or not a parent's personality meshes well one or another...Management appeared very receptive, accommodating. I assume if you happen to get an instructor you feel unhappy with, I'd image they understand it is in their best interest to accommodate you as best they can, with in reason.

Someboby doesn't know just how big Texas is to have a state meet in this lit place, New or not it's not ADA accessible no parking very uncomfortable for this many people can't see all routines, don't know who scored what or if my daughter has even gone yet, along way from home to not be able to enjoy her routines and our time here.

I had to remove my daughter from the South Austin location after realizing that it wasn't a fluke that the employees were unfriendly with one being quite possibly hungover during the Saturday classes. No, it was a weekly occurrence! I put up with the lack of smiles and bitter attitudes for a month and could go no longer than that. Besides that the teachers were both severely overweight, near obese if not obese and could not physically show my child how to do the routines. Not only would they get out of breath simply simulating the routine but they couldn't DO THEM. When a routine was demonstrated they turned to other children to do so. Both teachers would simply pick a place to stand and stand in that spot shouting orders for the entire class. When a child didn't seem to get it, they would get obviously frustrated with them then ignore them the rest of the class. I find this place to be very unprofessional and not at all worth your money.
