I have been seeing Karla since she opened her doors. I have seen other body work specialists before, but hands down she is the best in the business. Her understanding of body mechanics in conjunction with mind/body applications is where her expertise outshines others. When I first started seeing Karla my body was in really bad shape and over the course of several sessions by whole body came back into alignment. My muscles, joints, and fascia were so locked up that I was used to it being the norm. Karla was able to fix my body to move as it was intended to be and I now move around so freely that I am constantly reminded how grateful I am that I found her. Thank you Karla and I highly recommend.

Training with Karla has made all the difference in my body and how it moves and feels. My body awareness has improved to the point that I am able to engage deep muscles to allow other areas to function more efficiently. Her instruction is methodical, allowing your entire body to work the way it was designed. I've had the most transformative experience with Karla! She deeply understands the mind-body connection and is the first instructor who truly grasped how my body performs at its best. Every workout is meticulously designed to engage each muscle intentionally.
Through our sessions, Karla has alleviated multiple aches from past injuries and increased my range of motion. She has taught me the proper techniques for Pilates (reformer and chair), as well as workouts using body weight, weights, and bands. My posture is the best it's been in awhile.
This journey has been life-changing! I can't recommend Karla highly enough for anyone looking to enhance their fitness and whole well-being.

I have been working with Karla since September of last year to get to know my body and access better synergy and mobility for my sport and life. It has been a phenomenal experience. Karla combines a variety of methodologies to help you understand where you're limited and how to find more movement and freedom. I really enjoyed traversing through the structural integration bodywork 12 series with her and then continuing on with gyrotonic, pilates and other modalities to keep and grow the connections I made during the bodywork journey.
Karla is highly skilled at finding out how you learn best and motivating you visually, kinesthetically and even emotionally. It's a full body/mind/spirit experience. She's also just a lovely human to spend time with, very confident and committed to her own movement practices, education and ever unfolding journey. You won't regret working with Karla in any capacity, a true gem.

About two years ago, my wife began doing Pilates with Karla. In no time, I could tell that she was benefitting from her sessions with Karla. I was curious, so I accepted my wife’s invitation to go with her to a session. I have been going with my wife for about a year and a half now and could not be more impressed with not only the physical results, but equally the knowledge and approach Karla implements into each minute of every session we attend. Karla pays attention to detail and ensures that you are engaging the correct muscles and that your form is exactly where it needs to be with each and every movement during the session. My core has never been stronger and as a result my lower back pain has subsided. I am so glad my wife suggested I try Pilates that day and am very thankful to Karla for her dedication and passion for making people’s lives better through Pilates.

Karla's training is revolutionary. As a runner, dancer and instructor myself, after two bouts of covid and a surgery, I was feeling incredibly out of my body. I started seeing Karla at OPEN Body Concepts in 2021. While I walked into the studio not really understanding what structural integration was, and what it could do for me, trusting Karla and her immense knowledge of the anatomy of movement truly changed my life!
At that time I had been dealing with an SI joint/hip pain and knee pain for over 3 years and it was getting to the point of incapacitating me. I had visited 6 different specialists with no success and lost hope on any form of physical therapy. As a former competitive swimmer and now mom of 2 active teenagers this was devastating.
After my second structural integration session, I was able to sleep without pain and stand / walk for longer periods of time pain free. 5 months later and I was able to hike up a 13,000 ft Peak in Colorado!
I now been working with Karla at her studio for 3 years and never felt stronger. She has a unique way to teach your body how to work smarter, not harder.

I can’t say enough good things about Open Body Concepts! I have been seeing Karla for a few months now, for twice weekly private sessions.
The studio is well designed and fresh, with all the best apparatus. I love that my first session started with a full body movement evaluation!
The workouts are all about brain body connection: making progression so natural and efficient!
A major bonus to this studio is that it offers wellness services such as Structural Integration, and Myofacial Release—that are sometimes incorporated into the private training sessions.
I leave feeling stronger and more balanced. Highly recommend!!

Karla is a wonderful Pilates instructor. I have taken sessions with her for almost 15 years. Karla’s teaching continues to evolve as she is always keeping up to date on new trends as well as education in the field. Workouts are specifically tailored to one’s needs and goals. Karla has helped me so much with prior to my full hip replacement surgery and after. I credit her with allowing me to walk quickly after surgery. Karla at Open Body Concepts has changed my relationship with my body in a way I never thought possible. For years, I stuck with traditional strength training and running, but was always curious about Pilates and other forms of exercise. I felt Pilates would provide more stress relief than my current regimen. In addition, I knew I needed to put more emphasis on core strength. When I first met Karla, I knew almost immediately that it was the right fit.
She is SO much more than a Pilates instructor. Karla is a brilliant and patient teacher. She observes the way her students move and has a way of noticing and correcting things that would be invisible and unapparent to most people. In the past, I carried my tension and stress in my neck, and I never thought that could change. Through working with Karla, I've completely retrained my body to keep my neck relaxed, and to use the proper muscles instead. As a result, other muscles have become stronger and more defined. No more neck aches or stiffness!
Karla's knowledge and understanding of the human body and how it responds to movement is unmatched in my opinion. She is a lifelong learner and is constantly taking more classes and doing more training in order to better serve her clients. I value my time with her so much that I recently coordinated my own travel plans to coincide with a time she would be away for a training.
I wish I could train with Karla every day! I highly recommend working with her regardless of your age, strength, or current fitness level. She will meet you where you are on your journey. Karla is such a blessing and I am forever grateful for all she has taught me so far!

Karla at Open Body Concepts has changed my relationship with my body in a way I could not have imagined. Coming from NYC, where I had the opportunity to work with incredibly talented and experienced instructors of both Pilates and Gyrotonic, I was pretty certain that finding someone in Dallas of that caliber was going to be next to impossible. And boy I wrong.
Karla has far surpassed my expectations and completely transformed my body. I am in tune and connecting with layers, muscles, and parts of my body that I never even knew to be accessible!!! I feel stronger and more engaged with my body than ever before. Difficulties with my pelvic floor and the seemingly ever-present low back, neck, and chest pain are nearly non-existent. My experiences with anxiety, depression, and motivation have all dramatically improved as well.
If I could, I would meet with Karla every day!! She is extremely kind, compassionate, and absolutely brilliant in her knowledge of the human body. She has helped me to retrain my brain to recognize when and how I am holding tension throughout the day, and has taught me how to properly adjust my positioning (and thought patterns) so as to create a sense of openness and ease. Perhaps most importantly, Karla understands that our bodies are all different. She listens to my concerns, thoughts, and questions, and not only takes into account what I am saying, but also willingly goes the extra mile to consider and adjust how she is teaching something in order to help me fully understand and anchor the information. Her level of consideration and personalization is truly special.
I am so grateful to have found Karla and highly recommend her to anyone who might be interested in her services! She is absolutely worth it, I promise.
