I don’t know who needs to hear this, but I love OTF. I cannot stress how difficult it is to get me to show up to the gym. I love being in the gym, but showing up is the hard part for me. I don’t even have that problem here because I show up and the workout is there ready for me. I love the Avery gym too, it’s been great!

The fee structure and communication at this studio are extremely disappointing. During the pandemic, I expected understanding and flexibility, but instead, there was no proper notification when my account was taken off hold. I was initially told that holds would remain in effect until I reached out to end them, but my account was reactivated without warning, and my card was charged for four months before I realized it.
The staff seem poorly trained and often provide conflicting information. Despite being assured that my hold would be honored, the studio now refuses to issue a refund, citing that I did not extend the hold after July 2020. Had I been informed accurately, I would have acted accordingly. Their policies are applied inconsistently, and customers ultimately bear the cost of their miscommunication.
It’s also concerning that no one noticed I hadn’t attended a single class during those months. If my card had expired, I’m confident they would have contacted me immediately. Instead, they continued charging me without any follow-up, prioritizing revenue over transparency or customer care.
Overall, the fees feel excessive, the staff are not well-informed, and the studio shows little regard for the health concerns of their members during the pandemic. Very disappointing experience—I expected far better.

Tucked away in a well kept area. Their Halloween decorations are fun. Same layout, building quality, and workout quality of the other Orange Theories. The check in desk personnel was very nice.

We canceled our membership in May, it’s September and they are still charging us. We have called several times, have been told we are going to get a call back and nothing. We’ve emailed and canceled online as well. We are still getting charged monthly.
We loved the coaches and the workout We simply can’t do it any more
Morgan is the best coach, so is JT and Tara. Sad that we wouldn’t rejoin now because of this experience.

I’ve been to numerous OrangeTheory studios in the Austin area and beyond over the years, but Avery Ranch is still my absolute favorite. Even though I live a bit further now, I still make the drive because this studio is home.
First off, the coaches here are outstanding. It's always such a joy taking Head Coach Kara's Monday evening classes, which are like a refreshing splash of cold water that sets a great tone for the week ahead. Morgan’s signature routines (“3, 2, *clap* 1,” “If you gotta peace out, Girl Scout…”, and plenty more) and Renea’s themed workouts keep things so fun and engaging. I haven’t had many classes with Kendall or Brie, but every one I’ve taken has been excellent. I haven’t yet taken a class with Stephanie, but based on this studio’s track record of incredible coaches, I'm sure she’s just as stellar.
The front desk team is equally fantastic. From when Andre was leading the charge to now with Nicole at the helm, the vibe has always been warm, welcoming, and full of positive energy. Staff like Brandey and so many others over the years help create a space that feels inviting from the moment you step through the door. Customer service here is consistently top-tier.
If you frequent the Ranch, you already know what I mean. If you haven’t tried this studio yet (or OTF in general), do yourself a favor and check it out. Thanks OrangeTheory Avery Ranch—looking forward to many more pushes and all outs here! 🥂

I signed up for a trial membership at Orange Theory for $79.99 for the first month, with the understanding that it would renew at $179.99/month thereafter. Unfortunately, I recently started a new job that is “in-person” and my schedule hasn’t allowed me the time to attend any classes, so I never actually used the membership.
This morning, I noticed a $179.99 charge on my card and immediately called to request a cancellation and refund. The woman I spoke with on the phone, Jenny, told me I had to come in person to sign a form to initiate the refund. I made time out of my day to go in the same day—only to be told by another staff member that they would not refund the charge due to their “30-day cancellation policy.” She said I should have come in 30 days prior to cancel, even though no one had ever explained this to me at the time of sign-up.
Despite explaining that I hadn’t used any services and was acting in good faith, the staff member was rigid, unhelpful, and unwilling to escalate the issue or speak to management about making an exception. She simply repeated, “It’s our policy,” and said they would process the cancellation today but I would still be charged for the full month.
This experience has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. It’s unfortunate that a company focused on health and wellness would rather stick to rigid policies than treat people with basic fairness and understanding—especially when services weren’t even used. I would not recommend Orange Theory to anyone based on this experience.

VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND LIE TO YOU
Signed the cancellation form during the 3 day buyers remorse timeframe and spoke to the regional manager Andre about the cancel and was told they would refund me the $139 and cancel my membership. This was on 1/14/2025 - here we are 10 days later with no refund, still active membership and no one will return my calls/vmails.

Orange theory has a 30 day money back guarantee however you MUST complete 12 classes in that window to get your refund. I was injured in my second class and I won’t be returning, however they will not refund me the very expensive membership fee because I am injured and cannot complete the 12 classes. Ridiculous. Also to get the full class experience you have to purchase their heart rate monitor. And they will not buy that back from me either even though it was used for 1 class. Will not be returning to this expensive program requiring expensive equipment purchase that got me injured.

ATTENTION Please Read: It is based on Billing Cycles thus the time from you NOTIFY your cancellation to actually cancel is 60 Days and not immediate no billing. You will have to pay at least one more payment cycle and at the end of 60 Days or (two months) you are canceled. I signed up all is well everything is great but if you decide to cancel, you have to pay additional MONTH. That is right.
This was legal and, in the agreement, but not explained. Next time, I sign up with anything. I will send to ChatGPT for review. So for example, if you sign up day 1 and wants to cancel next day, well you have to pay another month to cancel. Thus this is a 60 Days Cancellation Contract and not "30 Days Cancellation Notice". Basically, your cancellation won't count and not effective till next Billing Cycle Date "begins". and 30 days from there.
This cancellation is kinda Chinese-trickery "TEMU" clothing type cancellation and not an American cancellation style.
Don't think I will go back again.
Oh by the way, few months ago I was a Cedar Park, OT and the invisible glass was at the entrey to the gym and I smashed myself into it (coming out) and caused significant bleeding and with broken lips. Outch!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By ChatGPT:
Key Points from the Membership Agreement:
Billing Cycle and Cancellation:
The Membership Agreement states that "your cancellation request will be effective 30 days after it is received"(Orangetheory Membership…).
This means that even if you submit a cancellation request on November 14th, the cancellation will not take effect until December 14th, aligning with a 30-day notice period.
Legal Basis:
This provision is standard in service agreements and is legally enforceable as long as it was clearly disclosed and agreed upon at the time of signing.
The agreement's terms also comply with Texas regulations for health spa contracts, which allow for such a notice period(Orangetheory Membership…).
Early Termination or Refunds:
The agreement does not provide an option for immediate cancellation within a billing cycle unless related to special circumstances like death or permanent disability(Orangetheory Membership…).
This means that you are obligated to pay for the next billing cycle if your cancellation falls within the notice period.
Binding Nature:
The agreement states that you agreed to these terms when signing the contract, making the 30-day notice clause enforceable.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
P.S. From now on, every contract I sign, I am going to feed thru ChatGPT for analysis and review before I sign a dam thing. Thank you for the life lesson!

I’ve been doing OTF for a couple years now at many different locations but this one is definitely one of my favorites. I love Coach Renea! She is the best always remembers your name and makes you feel like she cares about you. The only reason I get out of bed on Sunday mornings :D and of course always a great work out

Avoid this place at all cost. They lure you in with a free class then charge you $30. I signed up for a free class at 5:30, got there at 5:31pm and wasn’t let in the class. The dude and the lady at the front desk told me it was a no show. I’m like I’m literally right here, a minute late due to traffic. They refused to let me in and said it was a no show and I will be charged $30. Mind you this was supposed to be a free class. I have been an OTF member for 5yrs, took a break and was trying to come back. Never have I heard of a free class turning into a $30 fee. Avoid this location. Scammers!!!

This location used to be top-notch, but recent management changes have made it one of my worst gym experiences. Management is not available at all - there's no way to escalate issues. The front desk attendant - Sergio - is difficult, has zero empathy, and overall just doesn't know how to collaborate with customers to find solutions to common issues. Some of the instructors are really dedicated and I'll miss their classes, but this is no excuse for INEPT management.

I love this gym. I’ve always been involved in athletics, so after college I was looking for a new fitness community. I started with F45 and found the exercises became incredibly repetitive, I hated the time based intervals, and felt I was no longer growing as an athlete. I’m so glad I decided to try Orange Theory. I’ve never been a good endurance runner, so the treadmill aspect of each class intimidated me. However, I love how flexible the workouts are. You can be a runner, a jogger, or an incline power walker, so depending on how my body feels that day, I love that the workout tends to different levels and goals. Aside from the treadmill, I really enjoy that the weight room involves functional movements that are rep based, meaning you can adjust your weight and time management as you please for the most part (again, to meet your person goal of building muscle or toning). Besides the 60 min classes, I’m so glad Orange Theory now offers 50 min classes for strength or treadmill only. Some days I want to focus on lifting heavy with absolutely no cardio, and some days I only want cardio. They really have options for everybody. On top of everything, I’ve had such a great experience with the coaches truly caring about their members as individuals and customizing each of our experiences to meet our needs. I’m thankful for Orange Theory Avery Ranch and the welcoming community that the staff has created!

Be warned! They will raise your membership cost without agreement and if you need to cancel they will remand a 30 day “notification” — which is NOT a 30 day cancellation. Only after 30 days of you canceling will they start the clock to end the membership.
I used to love OTF. Now I kind of hate them. Diabolical.

This place is horrible with a rude staff. They don't provide information on how they operate and how to schedule sessions. After you pay, if don't use their APP, which is not available for people that has App Store from outside the US, they don't allow you to join classes when you want. And so you pay and can't attend classes, which is ridiculous. And they refuse to refund. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. They are not trustworthy.

I’ve been to the best OTFs and then to this place. This place made me realize not every OTF works the same way.
1. Cancellation : cancellation process is made as difficult as possible here. On the contrary membership registration is just a signature away🤷🏻♀️. They made me follow up for 2 weeks about this(I’ve cancelled under 30 days money back guarantee- if you’re in the same period, use that)
2. Ambiguity: I’ve checked with 2 other branches of OTF and both offered promotion for heart rate monitor(purchase heart rate monitor for free second month membership) during last 2 weeks of March. This place did not even tried to share the information when I explicitly asked about the promotion. Why wouldn’t all the branches under one franchise have same rules/promotional offers?
3. Front Desk: Frontdesk here is SELECTIVELY friendly . I’ve always sensed I don’t want to help you/ I don’t want to greet you/ I don’t to smile at you kind of attitude from them. This branch front desk doesn’t care about your experience.

Given an option, I’d give zero stars for not only this branch but for OTF in general. I had a really bad experience and encountered some really marketing and money minded people here.
When I had made up my mind to cancel my “premier membership” a month back, they talked me out of cancelling and had me freeze the account instead, for a couple of months. Neither did they mention about the account freezing fee (so called fee to keep my membership plan active) nor did they inform me about an additional month’s fee if I wish to cancel after the two month freeze period. When I confronted them for covering up the additional costs, they used the golden words “it’s on the contract”. Please, it wouldn’t take 10 seconds to remind people or give them the information they need before signing any document. I ended up paying both the account freezing fee and cancellation fee.
I’ll never recommend OTF to anyone.

Highly recommend. I love, love, love OTF-Avery Ranch. I am starting my 5th year as a member. The workouts are always challenging and I always feel better after finishing a workout. Being over 50, I appreciate that you can work at your own pace without judgment. Coaches will show modifications to exercise to accommodate varying fitness levels. Speaking of coaches, they are fantastic. Keep you motivated while explaining workouts etc ..all with great music. And the studio front office staff are ALWAYS so friendly and welcoming and helpful with questions etc. and I have met many wonderful people along the way. I consider my OTF community my fitness family. Kind of like Cheers - where everybody knows you name and they are glad you came.

Non transparent policies rude Manger/Staff . Once you give your card, you are stuck. I would rather prefer F45 which has nice pause policy and they are very considerate.
Especially the Avery ranch location is marketing and very trouble making. More than getting anything additional to your health, you get mental trauma going through the Manager Jamie and other front desk staff behavior. Big NO NO to this studio.

Honestly there is no negative stars that's why ended up selecting the least possible.
1. Pretty bad studio and greedy manager Jamie. Don't fall in to the trap of 1 free class Indeed if you are going for free class please do STOP there. Studio manager/Asst Manger pester you with all creepy marketing skills untill you sign. Then they show their colors.
2. They say one thing while talking and texing and fill something in their docusign documents. When there are tens of pages not many review all pages, that's where they take advantage by showing their witty tactics.
3. This studio is big NO-NO-NO guys. Please do understand the pain.

I’m so angry with this studio. My whole experience there is so bad.
Their cancellation policy is so bad that you need to continue having their membership for two months before you can actually cancel the membership. So PLEASE double check with them before you agree to buy that. And you always need to go to their studio to sign form UNLESS you got flu/covid. Everything is online now why can’t they just make it electronic. BECAUSE they will always find ways to persuade you to keeping you spending money or make everything postponed.
Their policy doesn’t make sense.
1. So I accidentally booked a class there and I called right back to them and asked them to switch the class to another studio within 2 minutes. They still insisted on charging my 12 dollars cancellation fee because of their 8 hour no cancellation policy 🙂
2 I bought my membership on Feb. and they forgot Feb only has 28 days. So my first month membership only has 29 days. That’s ridiculous. They’ve been following their policy so hardly. And now when monthly membership should be 30 days they don’t follow that🙂 if I didn’t notice myself I would never know that. And actually they even want to count my free class as my first day. That’s so funny.
3. I got flu a month a ago. Instead of allowing me to freeze my account for two weeks they must have you suspend for 1 month. Because that’s their policy. And because I don’t want to renew my membership. They just didn’t reactive my account 🙂
I don’t why that keeps happening to me like that maybe because I’m an Asian. 🙂The staff tried to help me but every time I hear the policy didn’t allow them at the end. I don’t know whether all the others have same experience as me. But I’ m very very disappointed at those two months.

Rating are purely driven by their communication. This review is to make new signer aware their policy around completing the forms and session with coach before starting first class. I referred my wife for initial class, I had phone conversation with staff and completed the initial formality and all set for the class. Agreement was to reach 15-20 min before the class. We did reach but coach was not able to take us in as requirements was to be there 30 min before. We lost an hour because of their staffs miss communication. More over its tough to get started on exercise journey and incident like this are road blockers. My recommendation is to visit them at least once before the actual class to avoid have surprises.
This is my first month here and overall their class seems to be just right to get started. I will update review based on how the rest of the year goes..
Update 24th Oct2021: enjoying the classes.. most important thing that it does is to get you in rhythm. Fix the days in advance and commit to it. Rest all will fall it in place. Today I upgraded to their premium to go 3 times a week instead of 2 earlier. As part of registration got my app worked and noticed many late cancelation marked which I never enrolled. Again seems to be communication break down. Later noticed multiple extra charges on my account that resulted from late cancelations. N.B. Have your app setup from day one and keep an eye on any extra charges.
Keeping the rating as two for continuous communication breakdown.

I keep telling myself I am going to review Avery and Cedar Park; but get too busy. On the training side of things Morgan, Michelle, and Connie have made such a positive impact on my life. Michelle adds a level of positive energy that is the main reason I changed my home studio to Avery. She is the benchmark for an OT instructor. Morgan is an instructor I have been lucky to train with since being at Arbor Town Square. She will motivate you to new heights. In a very short period of time, Connie has become one of our favorites. Her music choices and feedback are amazing. I do not believe I have seen any of the many instructors to have dabbled in training excel as quickly as she has.
At the front desk, we've seen a fair amount of change. Andre, Jaime, and Katelyn are always eager to greet you with a smile! Never shy on playful comments or challenging you to the next benchmark.
Thanks for creating a great studio!

OTF Avery Ranch isn't your ordinary gym...it's a community with trainers and members who care about you and it really is more fun to sweat with friends. I am not disciplined enough to work out by myself, so I love the coaching - I don't have to think about anything, just follow the trainer's instructions and it's an amazing workout. The balance between cardio and strength/weights really works and there is plenty of variety, so you won't get bored. And having the heart rate/calorie/splat point carrot is a huge driver. Definitely give it a try...the first one is free. :)

VERY FRUSTRATING CANCELLATION POLICY
This 8 hour window cancelation system I don't understand what's the point behind it. I woke up early in the morning and found my 1st grader is sick and won't be attend school and now I won't be able to attend the Gym either because I can't leave him alone at home. How would I able to predict 8 hours ago that my son will wake up sick. Noted even accidentally if you scheduled the class while browsing through the app and that's within 8 hours time frame BOOM. ORANGE THEORY MADE FREE $12........WORST POLICY

The classes have changed so much with Covid.. the overall attitude is not positive for me so I stopped go for a while it was bringing me down.. I am going to try 1 more month joined in 2014 when they opened in Avery rAnch. Its convenient to my home in Avery Ranch but having to force myself to go. I wish there were more friendly staff ! The workouts are good because I do push myself.

This studio doesn’t care about health concerns when it comes to cancellation.
We all are grow up and certain exception have to be made if it’s health related concerns rather than just reading the piece of paper which says cancellations have to be within 8 hour window period.

Orangetheory Fitness Avery Ranch has done an exceptional job at maintain CDC guidelines for facial coverings and social distancing during their workouts. They haven't had any issue with COVID cases recently which makes immunocompromised customers like me feel so much safer and happier getting back into the studio. I'm really grateful for how diligently the staff has been working to keep it clean and sanitary.

So, Orangetheory has a strict cancellation policy which I understand. In the middle of a PANDEMIC that needs to be lightened. I woke up sneezing today and feeling just generally tired. I don't want to overdo it and am not sure but I don't feel 100% so I called to ask if they can move my class for today to tomorrow. Some orangetheorys will do this even without pandemic. But either way, they refused, with Covid going around, which I find HIGHLY UNSAFE. also, they don't wipe down the equipment enough or recommend others to. They really are just doing regular station wipe downs, no one is wiping down heavily in between classes. In general it's not being taken seriously. Don't recommend coming here during a pandemic.

Big fan of Orangetheory Fitness, especially the Avery Ranch location. This is my "home" gym, and has a community feel to it. I have been to several other locations and they seem to fit that mold as well just judging by the conversations between members that I overheard while waiting for class to start. With any kind of life changing habit, you will need to give this more than just a workout or two before you form an opinion. I struggled for the first 6 or 8 workouts, and now it is addicting. I started out with an 8 class per month membership and have since changed to unlimited. I routinely find myself logging 20 classes in a month. I love the workouts. They are varied and challenging. You will get out of it what you put in to it. The coaches are there to help, and will truly go out of their way to help you achieve your goals.
Speaking of coaches, they are all wonderful. Upbeat, friendly, knowledgable. Each has their own taste in music for the class, but seem to be open to suggestions. The staff at Avery is great as well. They will greet you by name after they have seen you more than once! All of my experiences with the staff and management have been great. Highly recommend giving this location of Orangetheory a chance if you are looking to be more fit.

Any workout is what you make it. Orangetheory provides you with an environment to be successful. The coaches are fantastic at providing motivation while ensuring proper technique and pushing you to do your best within your limits. The heart rate zones allow you to monitor yourself during the workout and push harder or scale back when needed. I encourage anyone looking for a fitness routine to give Orangetheory a consideration. You won’t regret it!

I've worked out my entire adult life and have never been as fit as I am now in my 50s. OTF provides the results you're looking for regardless of age, current fitness level, or time availability. I love that I can take a class at 5a, noon, or after dinner. I appreciate that each day is different based on that day's focused theme (endurance, strength, or power) because it prevents my body from falling into a muscle-memory trap. You can track your results each workout to determine if you need to step it up, perform stronger and more efficiently than you did yesterday, or beat the person on the treadmill next to you. You get to say how you'll treat each workout and the trainers get to provide the construct with each class, inspiring you all the way.

I'm in the best shape of my life and it's all thanks to OTF! This place provides the best workouts I've ever experienced! I am highly motivated when I am in the workout and to go to the workouts. You can be as engaged with the other people or as private as you'd like to be. The coaches are really fun and there are certain incentives every month. All about that orange life!

I absolutely love OTF. When I started I remember telling a friend I was nervous about it because I didn't want to fail at another workout routine /diet / lifestyle change. When asked what my goal was after my first class I said I just wanted to like exercise and have something that I would stick to. Honestly, I didn't think this would be it but I kept going anyway. The coaches, front desk staff and members kept encouraging me and now it is something I truly look forward to. I've gone from HATING to work out and finding any excuse I could not to go to going about five times a week and loving it. I couldn't do this on my own. If you are on the fence or feel a little intimidated by it, just give it a shot and stick to it for one month...even if you don't really want to. You'll feel so much better and you'll have a group of people that are always cheering you on and encouraging you. It truly is a family and everyone is so supportive. I love my OTF family.

avoid this Fitness center...My wife signed up here but she canceled her membership within first month due to relocation.
They mentioned that the complete membership amount will be refunded if she attend 12 classes and she finished her 12 classes before cancel the membership. Now, they are claiming that she attended only 11 classes and they are not ready to give the refund back.
She didn't checkin in their APP for the last class but she signed on the register before she took the class. They don't want to refer to that attendee sheet and just claiming that they don't see the check-in their APP so that she is not eligible for the refund.
Seriously..If you don't care about your attendee sheet, then don't keep that one for check-in.

I love getting stronger and faster! I have been a member for 4 years and dropped my all other gym memberships! There is no other workout that I can get done in an hour. It is important to me that I can complete a hard work out and fit it in my schedule. We have great coaches that push me to do weight training which is my weakest area. I appreciate when they help me with improving my posture and completing the exercise more effectively. I also enjoy fun music!

My husband and I are in our 60s and we have never participated in any kind of real exercise program, at least not one that lasted more than a few months. I remember the first day that we tried Orange Theory- I wasn't sure I could survive it and concluded it was for serious athletes, but not for me. But I came back. As Michelle says -success is on the other side of that moment you want to quit . Here we are nine months later in the best shape of our lives and we are committed to this for the rest of our lives. Oh yes it is intense, but it is that intensity that pays off. If I can do this you all can do it! We would never work as hard as we do in that one hour if we were left on our own at any other gym. We get a well-rounded workout guided by coaches who take their time to support us individually when needed. This was the best decision for health and well-being we’ve ever made.

1. Management needs to spend some money from membership fees on the following - Hire good employees, Train employees, Update software, Customer service, Equipment maintainance.
2. Frontdesk and manager will guarantee they fixed an issue but NO way. You need to go in person multiple times. Emails and calls are joke.
3. Heart rate monitors dont work properly, you are better off getting your own since they cant help in anyway. Many folks use their heart rate monitors.
4. Last, I wanted to increase my $99 membership to $159 to focus on health, they charged me more, refunded, cancelled my membership, charged me again - all these kept adding unnecessary pressure. Hope they will stop keep charging me.
I quit orange theory and actually lost weight and reduced pressure and being healthy now.

Don’t try to cancel for major health issues. You will be hounded, called, emailed, multiple times daily, to the level of harassment, all for one month’s membership fee that you couldn’t afford due to medical expenses. Even if you contact them and explain the situation, and they assure you your account will be taken care of, you will still receive daily harassing emails and attempts to charge your credit card. I’ve had several managers involved assuring me they will assist me, reducing the insult to injury I continue to receive, and yet they continue to harass me for one month’s membership fee.
