Came in to this location had a great time with the instructors. It was when I returned to purchase a member. The assistant manager Rawlin was very disrespectful. I was told I could purchase a package and the be honored $159 for unlimited by the staff. When I returned 3 weeks later after 10 hounding calls, I spoke to the manager. She was very rude and yelling at me through the phone for asking about the information told to me. Instead of being upset with her staff she snapped on me and said I’m argumentative for repeating what I was told. Me asking her to not speak to me in that tone because she’s yelling at me the customer about something her staff said. Very rude and tasteless behavior. Also, don’t expect the prices to be quoted as is! The staff change as they need new memberships! I rather do Pilates than deal with rude front desk staff and inconsistent prices

Orangetheory Fitness Uptown is great! The atmosphere is full of positive energy. Every coach has their own style of training, but is always more than happy to help and is very supportive. The front desk staff is also amazing and really help to set the tone of the studio. The music is good and there is always a new challenge to go after or cause to support. There are also plenty of lockers, restrooms, and showers if needed. Overall, I really enjoy Orangetheory and recommend that everyone gives it a try!

Great studio with great coaches! Workouts always kick my butt and go by quickly. Lockers do go fast as there aren't enough for everyone in a full 3g class, and the stations are kind of close depending on what exercise you're doing. But I've been going here for years and really enjoy it!

Dont appreciate it when they convert a 2g class to 1g class.
People pick and chose a class and come here expecting to do something to wanted to.
Also I have been to other studios where trainers stay engaged in the class but my experience here was that trainer was only busy talking to the staff at the reception desk.

Experience was extremely non-accommodating and frustrating. Signed up for a free class (my friend has been a loyal member for over 5 years and wanted to introduce me to OTF)! Was excited and pumped to try it out, but received no notification that I needed to show up 30 mins earlier than the class started (I showed up 15 mins before class) to get introduced to how to use a treadmill and a rowing machine. LOL. It was mandatory to show up early to get the free class.

Clarified this was their “policy” and was explained that essentially they needed to make sure I got their sales pitch!! Understood this is a business of course, and they so graciously did give me a “preferred guest” drop-in rate. Any chance of making me a returning customer was out the window~~~

Didn’t even get introduced to the treadmill or the rower of the gist of the class when I did enter the workout room 💀💀💀

Front desk went into hush mode when I asked for clarification for the policy!

But HEY! They made me a nice whiteboard sign to welcome me to their “free” class, though my friend so graciously spotted my class :’-) it was $12 IN THIS ECONOMY

As a workout junkie that's tried most of the fitness studios around Dallas, OTF is one of the few workouts that I never get tired of. I love that the studio has different challenges/events every month to test your endurance and keep you motivated. I really hate leaving a bad review because the two years I spent working out at orange theory were awesome but when it comes to cancelling my membership it’s been an awful experience. I cancelled my membership 4 months ago and they keep charging my every month since. Every time I speak to someone they say it’s cancelled, then when I call back after being charged they say they have no documentation of calls or me cancelling and I still have to pay. That’s 4 months at $189 each month. It’s completely unacceptable and I shouldn’t have to keep paying when I cancelled but they just tell me “you’ll have to pay this month and you won’t be charged again”. It’s left what could have been a really great impression to me not recommending orange theory to anyone due to how poor the studio is run.

I really hate to leave reviews like this but I feel it is necessary. I joined this location back in December 2021. The process was smooth, the coaches were awesome and the sales associates at the front were so kind and helpful. Over the last few months, there has been significant turnover, both in coaches and staff. I have found that the messaging has become a bit inconsistent than when I first began. That’s ok-I get that with staff changing different people may enforce things differently, but at least inform your gym members. I have had a few encounters with one of front desk staff recently that just seem very dismissive, a little rude and not customer service oriented. I had been on the waitlist for a 10:30am class and waited 30 minutes before that class started to remove myself since there were still 3 people in front of me. I booked the 11:45 class instead. Usually I receive a question about late cancelling in the app, and a text saying I’m off the waitlist, but never received any of those. I received at $12 cancellation fee before my 11:45am class and figured I would talk to them about it when I got there an hour later. When I got there, I was told that I didn’t have a waitlist check near my name and that since I didn’t call them I still will be charged. I have always been told that even if I go to a later class, as long as I let them know at the front desk when I got there, the charge would be removed. The sales associate didn’t even give me time to explain the situation on my end (I think it was a glitch in their system/orange theory app). I understand it’s only a $12 fee but when you pay $189 a month, I at least want good costumer service and that has really gone downhill. Fortunately, I am moving out of state in a week and a half or I would be changing studios. The stars given are for the coaches and the encouragement they have given me over the year. So bummed my time at Orange Theory in Dallas had ended this way. Kudos to the OG people who signed me up and gave me bravery to restart my fitness journey (Eli, Jemma, and Bre)!

I’ve been going to OTF now for a little over 6 months and hands down it’s been the best decision I’ve made in my life. My favorite thing about OT is that you workout your entire body in one hour. I also like the over all atmosphere! The best way to describe it is working out at the club. I really enjoy working out to the music they play, it helps give me that extra push when needed and keep me focused. I love the whole heart rate based workout, because it has helped me get to know my body on a whole different level. The coaches and staff are always super helpful and are there to help guide you through your workouts(in case you have certain restrictions). I’ve never felt dumb or awkward asking anything. Most importantly I’ve never had to worry about waiting for someone else to use any equipment or having watch people film and take pics of themselves instead of working out(referring to most paid memberships gyms). People go to OT to actually workout and no phones are allowed. I started doing 2 classes a week and have recently upgraded to unlimited and currently attending 5 times a week. If you’re thinking about it… stop thinking about it and just do it. You’ll have zero regrets and you’re body will thank you for it!

Be prepared for them to make as much money off of you if you are unable to make a class add the actual membership. Additionally, the devices they sell you do not always work in the classes. I was booted off the system in my first class and charged a fee the next day because I couldn’t make a class. However, there is waitlist for these spots and the class was still full. They over sell the classes and charge you based on not making a class. Would not recommend this location or this concept if you have a job, a family or any priorities. I went to one class tried canceling my membership and they are keeping every last penny. Even though they offer everyone a free class which I never got. Don’t waste your money the class are for beginners and people without obligations in their lives.

Lack of transparency and poor customer service: came here and met with the manager at OTF Uptown a week and a half ago. Expressed that I was exploring other fitness options and already had a CrossFit and gym membership. She failed to mention that OTF actually does have a “try us for a month” offer and instead signed me up for a rolling subscription (I started with the 4x/month because as I expressed from the very beginning, I was still deciding what made the most sense). After a week and a half, I asked to cancel my membership. I was told that I would be charged for another month because I needed to give 30 days notice. Apparently there is a 3 day window upon initial sign up to cancel a memebership…considering that the manager signed me up, that would have been a pretty relevant fact for her to share rather than expecting me to read it in the fine print somewhere. When I asked via text what next steps were to cancel, I was told to fill out a cancellation form. Again, no forward guidance on how to do this, I had to ask where and how, and what the process was. They then shared that I’d have to come in person to fill out the form —it’s 2022 so I hope they look at ways to make things more convenient for members since this could easily be available online or on the app). I would expect more transparency, especially coming from someone in a position of leadership. OTF may have ended up getting another month of an $89 - I hope that was more worth it to them than a customer left with a pretty disappointed experience. Needless to say, I wouldn’t recommend anyone try this particular Uptown location. It would have been a completely different review if I could have said “I tried it and while it wasn’t something that made sense for me right now, this facility gave me all the information I needed to make a decision up front and I appreciated their service and would love to do a drop in sometime.” Sadly, that was not the case.

This is a review of my first and last time doing Orange Theory, and no there is no way I'd come back for a class. They way I was treated before and after working out was like night and day. The person who checked me in was hostile and obviously upset with me (complaining there was not enough time to check me in in 15 minutes and should have been 30 minutes early). I received multiple calls and texts about being early without specifics as to why. I knew the basics of the gym and while I normally arrive 15 minutes to a new studio class, giving 1.5 hours of my time to this seemed absurd. It's also a bad sign to walk into a studio to work out and want to leave without even trying the workout. I'd take lack of attention over hostility any day. There was no one else to help in the studio and my check-in and talk with the instructor took maybe 10 minutes: two short forms waiving the studio's liability, a conversation on why I was there, and giving my height and weight again to calibrate a heart monitor. After class, the person who checked me in was friendly to the point of insincerity. The people at the corner literally ignored me saying I was in a hurry and wouldn't let me leave until I said no to signing up for classes multiple times. I work out to relieve stres, not to create it with people who work at a studio. The actual exercise class was fun (hence giving 2 stars over 1), but it seems like taking classes with this customer service would be a nightmare if I wanted membership.

Good classes but very adamant on the policies and not flexible even to move a single class. Also on the costlier side for the kind of workout provided. Please read all the pages when you sign off the subscription , because they will just tell you that you signed on the paper - eg: Cancellation needs to be done 30 days in advance and even though we are not here for 15 days of the 30 in December we would not be able to use the classes and there is nothing OTF will do about it.

What a wonderful group of trainers & staff! Very understanding and accommodating of their members working in the medical field and being on-call. As for the classes, they definitely can be intense and challenging, so I highly recommend you to eat a healthy meal before going into class, or else you’ll find yourself fatigue midway. Furthermore, although you’re constantly rotating between the treadmill, rower and weight room, every class experience is different due to the constant mix of exercises/blocks. As for the trainers, they’re always encouraging and so supportive. I can tell they want you to be the best version of yourself and will occasionally point out tips on your form... just try not to take it personally when you feel like you’re dying lol. Lastly, the only suggestion/wish I have would be for the 3G classes to be cooler.

First impressions are lasting.
I went to the Preston Hollow studio for an introductory workout as a friend recommended I try Orange Theory.
They were super nice and very thorough!
Excellent trainer (Emily) and I enjoyed the workout as well. It had a lot of variety and the right amount of intensity.

I was not impressed with the mixed messages the management gave me about rates and preferred guest rates.
I wanted to try a studio closer to my new home in HP before making a final decision and BOTH studios charged me fees.
Charging my card for free sessions is NOT cool.
Both studios can’t figure out who did what yet assured me “everything was in the system.”

Does that make me feel comfortable as a first timer with a membership purchase? Hell no!
If this is an indication of how the financial portion of the business works, they need to do much better. My first time/class experience has been shrouded by phone calls, emails, text messages, calling my bank, follow up calls, and screenshots just to ensure my card is refunded. Yikes!

Get everything in writing as it seems they don’t communicate and you’re left holding the stick.
I wish there was a cash option because I'm nervous giving someone my credit card at this point.

Skylar was great, friendly and attentive. Great workout for beginners, although I chose to go back to a more strenuous strengthening and conditioning gym, I would recommend someone just starting out to try this type of workout style.

I’ve been a member here for about a month, the coaches are great as you can see from all the other reviews! The location is great they have a lot of available parking around the back if needed, but I never have trouble parking right in front because classes are always coming and going. They have a couple showers, lockers, and towel service. I had a couple of issues to start with my app and OTbeat- core heart monitor. However the uptown manager is phenomenal, she was very caring about my issues and promptly resolved all the issues thoroughly. This gym is expensive yes, but I think the coaches, amenities, manager service, but most importantly the results are worth it. My regular gym membership goes unused for months because I don’t have to motivation I need to go. With this gym’s style, you won’t waste your money or time!! I recommend anyone give there one day trial session a try. Good luck getting fit everyone!!

It was my first time to take a class at Orange theory, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I am looking forward to incorporating this into my “best-self” practice! Firstly, time is money, and while I wouldn’t characterize Orangetheory as cheap, I the fact that I can get an efficient, full-body, constantly varied, professionally supervised workout in 60 minutes makes me feel like I’m getting a good value.I appreciated that my personal autonomy in the class was balanced well with attention from my coach Rico, as well as the general positivity of the group, which encouraged me to work hard, but in a safe way. In the past, I’ve tended to injure myself in classes like Crossfit, which in my opinion can be pushy to the point of feeling irresponsibly over-zealous.I felt that the live progress updates on the screen added an enjoyable competitive element and a very useful intensity metric. I balked a little at the heart rate monitor rental fee structure, but to use an analogy, I realize the technology is a little more sophisticated than a bowling shoe, and after a certain point, it just makes more sense to purchase your own...I also feel that while the music was a bit loud, it was the perfect volume to render inconspicuous the sounds of my vocalized exertions (haha), which helped me avoid feeling too self-concious.I’ll be in again soon, and hope to carefully increase my attendance over the next few weeks as my fitness improves and recovery periods shorten.

What's great about Orangetheory Fitness? All of it! great music, a/c, no cell phones, your own equipment - don't have to wait on others, workout planned for you, modification options for all exercises, just one hour - but you have to commit to it, monitor your heart rate, calories and splats, never boring and awesome trainers! Been going to OTF for 3.5 months solid, and want to keep going forever!

I love The variety in workouts and the ability to adjust the workout based on how I am Feeling that particular day- always options to make it easier or harder! The workouts always push me out of my comfort zone which is what I’ve needed to improve myself physically and mentally when it comes to fitness!

Great studio but working out during summer is a killer bc their AC doesn’t work great. The studio has a large window in the front where the sun shines directly inside making it super hot most of the day. It’s a shame they didn’t build the studio toward the backside to allow for better cooling. Other than that it’s a great studio friendly staff and amazing coaches

Highly unprofessional individuals staffed at this location. I don’t recommend you give them your money as that’s clearly all that they are after and have no genuine interest in building a relations job with a customer.

I’ve tried Orange Theory in the past and had only positive experiences. However, I experienced the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in the fitness industry at this location.

I went to test this location for an introductory workout as I recently moved to the area. Due to the busy traffic in Dallas, I was only 20 minutes early for my first workout. A member of the staff called to confirm I was on my way which I confirmed and said I would be there any minute. I walked into the club at 4:50 for a 5:10 workout to be told by two staff members who were sitting at the desk with no line that it was actually 4:51 so that they wouldn’t be able to help me and I would have to reschedule my workout. I stated that I had just talked to someone that had told me to come. Both individual then went on to play dumb with me and said it would be impossible to help me out. The assistant manager, then falsely said there was nothing that could be done about this policy that it was rigid and inflexible as if they couldn’t set me up for a workout in 20 minutes with no customers left to serve despite rushing through traffic to get there at a reasonable time. This was a remarkable example of how poor customer service, rigidity, and a lack of empathy can hurt businesses. I was planning on signing up for a regular package and now they lost a customer for life.

There are better places to workout and to spend your money in Dallas than this Orange Theory. I don’t recommend that you waste your time with this location until they hire new staff that cares about customers and building a community.
