Went for the 2nd time today. Definitely going to sign up for a membership in the near future. Great vibes. And my fav part is the upbeat intensity. Great coaches. Great staff. & equipment.

What an amazing class Wednesday nights with Dani, her coaching skills and energy is amazing. She is very involved with the class, making sure your posture is correct to avoid injuries....as well as using modifications for those who are recovering from injuries.
Nate the front desk was amazing, and Amber from the Tomball location dropped in with her positive energy.
Great experience and energy that motivates you to worker harder to reach your goal.

Orangetheory offers 50 mins, 60 mins & 90 mins classes & the classes are always upbeat! This location has about 18 stations and it’s usually packed on the weekdays after 5 & the weekends in the morning time! There are plenty of parking spaces but just give yourself 5 mins extra to go through Studemont, park and get to class!

This is my favorite OT location. There is a huge parking lot shared with many retail businesses but I never worry about being late due to parking. It is boarded by two train tracks which usually run in the early mornings - you may want to build in 5 extra minutes to drive to the underpass on Studemont to get around them! Overall great place to workout and I’ve lost more than 30 lbs here!

Really enjoyed my first OTF class this morning. Was greeted by Kyra, who made my orientation process smooth and simple. Jason coached the class and was excellent. Gave me a tour of the facility before the class to show me how things ran. Once class started, Jason took the time to give each client individual feedback and technical cues, all while maintaining a high energy class. Will definitely be back!

I think Orangetheory is an effective workout. In & out within an hour and you feel the results within weeks. I'm also a person who enjoys data, so seeing real-time data on the screen during the class is motivating for me. Speaking as a former athlete, it was easy to fall out of shape after college. With a coach-led class, I am able to show up, turn my brain off and just let my body do the work. Having a motivating coach and people around you also gives off a bit of a competitive feeling that the athlete in me enjoys. I have done other workouts that are lower-impact/intensity, but I see the most efficient results with Orangetheory's HIIT programming. Every workout is different, you can modify anything you need to and I go to pretty much any coach. I'll choose my favorite coaches based on their playlists! Lol. OT and meal prep have gotten me back to where I want to be both mentally and physically.

They will freeze your account a day before they say they are going to. So don't bother coming in for the 6:05 am class it let you sign up for. I'm leaving the country early next week for three weeks (hence the freeze) and then when they deny you from entering they won't let you buy 10 class passes so you can still work out for the 6 am class you woke up here and drove here for. Thinking about joining Spenga or F45 at this point. Unacceptable and highly unprofessional to let me sign up and not even notify me before I arrived you were going to kick me out.

Lost a customer for life. Great staff, workout, facility, etc. on my trial class. Signed on with excitement then got COVID shortly after trial class and can’t continue at that intensity for a few more months. Unfortunately, couldn’t do more besides freezing for 2 months and potentially another. Corporate policy has forced this and no refunds even on an unused heart monitor. Leaves a bad taste for us having to still pay. Will have to try other means for improving my fitness journey as I recover. Tough to refer others to it but I guess it’s a tough break and pricey lesson for one “free” class.

I’ve been to several OTF locations and was the ASM of one back in NY before moving here a few weeks ago. This was my first class at the Sawyer Heights location and I found that the staff and members were super friendly. They had a “question of the day” that they asked out in the lobby. I thought it was a cute way to encourage conversation amongst staff and members. The coach had great energy during class, which made that Friday the 13th workout bearable… I mean enjoyable! ;)

This location is always just difficult. The staff doesn’t feel like doing their job. Your best bet is just to sign up for the class and walk in without interacting with the pawns the put at the front desk. I tried to sign up for my free class here and they said I needed to do it days in advance. I then went to a different location and managed to sign up. I was however roped into buying the membership on the spot… which means that first class isn’t actually free. I made the mistake of taking my boyfriend to this location to try to get him signed up and the same thing happened. They refuse to register you for the free class and ask for a $28 drop in fee despite us showing up 45 minutes before the class to complete the walk through and paperwork. Bad location.

I’ve been a member of OTF for around 8 years, and I never get bored. Workouts always vary, so you don’t feel like you’re stuck in a rut. Each OTF studio fosters a sense of community, which helps motivate you to want to come to class and workout.

I absolutely love orange theory Sawyer heights! The whole staff is amazing and so welcoming. I’ve been doing OTF for the past 2 years and neema is the reason I drive a little bit longer to the Sawyer heights location. She is the best coach! I also look better than ever. Only critique is that some of the coaches play slow music or not that great of music. It really affects the mood of the workout. Country is a no go when working out 😂 some are playing pop girly songs and that’s just not the vibe for OTF. Mike Bina (Cinco location) and Cailyn have the best music. Just for reference 😄

I like the class, but unfortunately OTF’s no phone policy isn’t doable for someone with a professional career. I’m a lawyer, and I always have to have my phone next to me in case of a client emergency (yes, even for the hour I’m working out). Going to this gym became stressful for me simply by fact that they wouldn’t let me have my phone. I found myself having to last minute cancel classes (which means I lost the class altogether) on my busy work days because I wouldn’t be able to check my emails. The price of these classes is way more than a regular gym membership where you can go whenever you want, as much as you want, and have your phone!

Don’t workout here if you have a career.
I have very demanding job, and need to have my phone nearby for emergencies. I brought my phone into the studio and placed it down. I might have checked it for less than 30 seconds while on the weight floor. I put my phone down and went to the rowers about 100 feet away from my phone. While working out on the rower , the studio manager interrupts my workout to tell me that I can’t use my phone in the studio. He then grabs my phone from my station and begins to walk out with it. That was not ok.
This was the 2nd or 3rd time I was harassed while working out at this studio. Is it because I am a black female? I don’t know but I began to feel like I wasn’t wanted here
I have been doing OTF since 2015 and will gladly take my business elsewhere .
I wish I could give zero stars unfortunately 1 is the lowest.

Response to comment: Thank you for the offer and I received your voicemail, but I don’t feel the need to communicate further as to have policies furthermore explained. OTF - please just take or leave my thoughts - in one ear, out the other! Thanks.
This location functions like a Communist state. I am a member elsewhere but moved to the Heights recently where this location is the most convenient. I’ve been doing OTF for 2 years, and have never encountered a location with more intensity and lack of customer relation with adherence to rules. I have been to 3 classes at this location and experienced the 3 issues below.
1.) In my first class at Sawyer Heights, my body wasn’t responding to the exercise laid out, so I modified to an exercise that felt good. I was called out by the instructor and he rudely stated, “Um, yeah, you can’t just change to a plank like that. I haven’t explained it to you.” I’m sorry, but aren’t I the paying customer? It’s a plank. I’m fine. I’m not going to hurt myself.
2.) I forgot my wristband at the second class - happens on occasion because I am indeed a human. On one or two of those occasions at other locations (when traveling, etc.) I was greeted with understanding and customer service with an acknowledgement of the fact that I am the paying person. I was offered one generously. Sawyer Heights? Immediately and mindlessly charged me the rental fee.
3.) Today, my third time at this wonderful location, I walked in at 4:19 as I was stuck at the famous Heights railroad track before being able to turn in. It must have clicked to 4:20 upon my entrance and I was told by the 5 employees standing before me that they wouldn’t let me in the class. It was literally 4:20 on the dot. It changed from 19 to 20 as I opened the door. “It’s for your safety.” Again, I’ve been doing this for 2 years and I understand there is the 5 minute warm up at the beginning, but I’m simply not going to hurt myself. I usually power walk anyway! It was 4:20. Dude. Why are they so worried I’m going to hurt myself like mentioned in bullet number 1. I am plus sized. Lol. Is this it?
All I’m asking for is a little bit of humanity mixed in with this rule intensity. You’re not going to get sued for letting someone into the class 4 and 1/2 minutes late.
If you can manage to find membership at another location, I highly encourage it.

I finally tried this place and I enjoyed it but I won't be going back.
I can see why many of my friends like it. The staff was friendly and the place was very clean. The trainer was ok, although he was the least friendly of them all. The science behind it is solid and not proprietary. The "orange theory" applies to any workout that gets you in that zone for your allotted time. They aren't offering anything unique other than showing you your heartrate monitor stats on a screen while working out.
I won't go back for 2 reasons.
#1 - Price. I can look up a WOD from a crossfit gym and do this on my own for a fraction of the price.
#2 - My fitness goal. My goal is to be more flexible and mobile. These workouts are not meant for this type of goal.

I'm am extremely displeased with the service, staff, coaching, and class. Overall the experience here was mediocre. Andrea was very abrupt over the phone when pushing to get my credit card information before I took class. When I arrived, not only was the staff unpleasant but all the members in the lobby were frowning. Terrible start. The front desk people were curt in their conversations and I was put off by how they conducted themselves. The Coach was also concerning as I wasn't impressed by her teaching ability and the class format was boring to say the least. I think others in the class agreed as some of us left early.
I do not recommend this location.

I was scheduled for an 8:00pm class and was not permitted entry because I was not 20 minutes early. Although this was my first time at this location, this was not my first Orange Theory class and the 10 minutes I allotted should have been sufficient. I do not understand the need to go through a full on boarding solely due to a change in location. Additionally, an unwelcoming front desk staff makes it significantly less enticing to become a regular member.
My fiancé and I recently bought a house in the area and were excited to try and find a studio nearby that we could attend frequently. My suggestion- this studio did not meet expectations and there are plenty of other alternative options nearby.

My account has been frozen since March when covid hit. I do not feel comfortable going back to inside workout classes as a healthcare worker. I’ve asked them several times to cancel my membership and they refuse without me paying an extra month. They refuse to work with their customers. They even admitted to me that they let other customers cancel their membership with paying the extra month. But now they are “trying to get back to normal.” It’s very hard to get back to normal when there is a pandemic....
They are seriously lacking professionalism and basic customer service skills. So now I am stuck paying a freeze fee each month. I would not recommend this location to anyone.

Another 1-star rating because of the front of house staff... not only did I spend the first couple months having issues signing into the app because someone entered my email incorrectly into their system when they set up my account, but today I was confirmed in my class and then my attendance was cancelled manually by them. They have started a new program in which you must answer a phone call from them within eight hours prior to the start of class to confirm your attendance, even though you already signed up for the class (even after receiving an email confirmation). This means that if you're still on the waitlist as of the 8-hour cutoff, you must stand by your phone for eight hours prior to the start of your class to receive their call (or call back within a "generous" 30 minutes) to confirm that you'll be there. Think I'm exaggerating? I'm not. This ridiculous manual intervention in their system is in addition to the penalties you would ordinarily receive for being a "no show". This policy is clearly not meant for those people that can only afford to attend class once or twice a week, and sacrifice a lot to get to their class. When I approached the front desk, I got a lukewarm response and on my way out got a snarky "have a nice day" comment. There are alternative options for this type of exercise class and I will be exploring those asap.

The class and coach was great. But the front desk and management need training around customer service and OT systems. I called ahead to ensure I could use classes from my class pack out-of-state membership and was told everything was fine. When I arrived for class, one of the managers told me they could not find me in the membership system and charged me for the class. I later saw that one of my classes was redeemed for this studio. So I was charged for the class AND they took one of my classes after saying they couldn’t find my membership. Interestingly, I just got off the phone with the Midtown location and they were able to find me in the system and pull from my class pack successfully in literally 2 mins for tonight’s class.....

Jason and all the coaches on this property are phenomenal and they deserve a 5 star rating but this review is based 100% off the front of house staff. I have been to multiple OTF locations within Houston and Florida for 3 years and this is by far the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. I can not wait to cancel my membership at this location and drive the extra 15 minutes to be at a studio who acknowledges me in a respectful manner. Honestly, those people are so nice, absolutely no belittling, no intimidation, super approachable. The work out was fantastic, music was spot on. And it is really up to the individual how hard you want to go. They tell you what is needed for optimal effects but it is up to you to get there.

Great workout but the front desk staff is always rude. I prefer other locations.

This location poorly manages its class lists. It kicks members out of a class the app shows they are signed up for to let people still on the wait in. Then turns away those that were already accepted into class because it is too full.
Also, majority of the classes are constantly full, so getting off the wait list the day before is basically unheard of. That means for those that work night shift and have unusual sleep patterns waking up at 8 am to send a confirmation text for a class almost 3 hours later is incredibly inconvenient.
The app is there to prevent people from the headache that is experienced at this location. Other locations don't have the same scheduling nightmare.

Tried to change to an earlier class and instead of thinking “good he comes in before and we can take more people to the later class” they wanted to charge me a late cancellation even if it was not a cancellation....I just kept my original class because i didn’t want to pay 12 for nothing. Terrible customer focus

I arrived at Orange Theory over twenty minutes before my class, and they would not let me participate because I was too late. In few words, this is absolutely ridiculous and I would not recommend anyone supporting this business.

I have not taken a class at OrangeTheory, and never will because I've didn't even need a workout to already have a negative experience. I just moved to the city of Houston and decided to try OrangeTheory. My fiance and I are very fit and have done countless similar classes in our hometown. We arrived for our first class 22 minutes prior to the start time, but were told we were "too late" to join the class. We were instructed to arrive 30 minutes early to do paperwork and get started (EVERY boutique workout studio asks you to arrive early but is not clocking you minute by minute), but it was not clear that by being 22 minutes early, (EARLY!) we would not be allowed to participate. This is due to a corporate policy, but frankly, that is a ridiculous policy, and I refuse to patronize a company with such petty rules. Sorry that we are new to the city, slightly misestimated timing and couldn't see your studio at first from the side of the road, so we weren't exactly on time (EARLY). 22 minutes should be plenty of time to sign waivers, put on a heart rate monitor, meet some coach and be told about a workout format. Personnel was not rude, but I would not recommend OrangeTheory based on these policies. Luckily, Houston has many comparable options that will gladly welcome our business.

If you have never been to Orange Theory, you should go - it is a great five star workout. I had a bad experience at this location (rude staff) and I originally rated this location lower. The manager contacted me. When she found out about my experience, she did a great job resolving it.

First time going was yesterday. My class started at 10:45 and I was told to be there 30 minutes before class to get registered. I walked in the door at 10:19 to be advised I could not participate in class because I did not arrive 30 minutes before the class!!!! I was 4 minutes later than 10:15. The girl at the front desk was extremely rude to me! I filled out the paperwork and she realized how angry and upset I was and tried to make it up by saying you can do the class at 12PM. She than explained it takes a while to get set up due to the fact they due the heart beat set up etc etc. After leaving this location I tried to call the other Orange Theory Fitness places in town to go elsewhere to see if I would be treated differently however they were fully booked up. So I drove back to this location reluctantly and was greeted by someone completely different and she was very nice and welcoming. The heart beat set up and explaining everything literally took 5 minutes, the girl who originally greeted me was either lazy or just couldn't be bothered working it felt like as it definitely wasn't a 30 minute registration more like 10-15 minutes. The actual class and trainer Noel was great! I really wish I was just treated nicely and respectfully as I am still debating whether or not I want to sign up with this company due to how rude the girl at the front desk was to me. She shouldn't be there to deal with customers as she definitely doesn't know how to do customer service properly.

I signed up for first month of 4 sessions as a try-out, knew I have to use up all within 4 weeks, and made clear that my travel schedule would not allow monthly schedule. On the 30th day, I asked if I can transfer to an out of state studio and use the unused sessions, I am shocked to know I lost them. I never thought I was enrolled into monthly (or month-to-month membership). I am tricked.
