Tried OT out today as a complete amateur to exercise. From the jump I was made to feel comfortable and supported, the staff was incredibly kind! There was a genuine interest in making sure I felt comfortable with equipment and exercises before the class even started. During the class my coach Patrick was the best! The workout was difficult enough to be challenging but not intimidating and he was careful to help me anytime I needed and jumped in to motivate me at the perfect times. Notably the other guests were super friendly as well and clapped for me at the end of class! 10/10 I will be back!

I love OTF! I struggled for years to get motivated to be back in the gym. The OTF workouts are so efficient. I love the options: lifting, tread, and rower. The coaches genuinely care about your goals and the staff take the time to remember your name and personal details about you. The community is super special!

Studio manager Shon, Assistant manager Sage and Head Coach Elizabeth are the driven force at the West University studio. One of the best studios in Houston Texas. Front desk is by far a total Vibe and the coaches there are AMAZING! Thanks for the great experience when I’m in Houston. I’ve been to majority of all the Houston studios and this one is by far the best one. If you’re visiting Houston or wanting to try a studio in Houston try the OTF West University location.

Been to many OTFs and this location is amazing! The front desk is so welcoming, and coach Elizabeth is BY FAR one of the best coaches around. The culture is kind-yet I feel pushed to do my best. I get incredible instruction and they strive to make everyone feel welcome.

I have been an OTF member since my studio opened in 2015. I have done over
1000 workouts so far. This is the only workout that I have stuck with regularly over the years. I am now in my 60’s, and in better cardio condition than when I was younger and than many women my age. I keep coming back because of the quality and intensity of the workout as well as workout variation. I don’t get bored. Always fun and the coaches and staff are great and very motivating.

Sage is an amazing assistant manager and Elizabeth is one of my favorite coaches. As of right now, I really like my experience at OTF. They will do their best to help. I recommend asking for Sage if you have any questions or anything, she will definitely do her best and go above and beyond.

Shon (6/3/24)- has been great with my situation. She has been honest and looking out for me.

As someone who was excited to join the OTF, I must say my experience has been overwhelmingly negative. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming. The staff appeared disinterested and lacked the enthusiasm one would expect from a fitness facility.

Overall, my time at this OTF has been disappointing, and I would not recommend this location to anyone looking for a positive and fulfilling fitness journey.

I’ve been to so many OTF studios and this by far is the best! The front desk staff are always so friendly and welcoming. Coach Chuk is the best, hands down. He always brings great energy, is super encouraging and has the best playlist to get you pumped for your workout. I am working in another city for the summer and bummed because the studios in Seattle are the worst, and so are the coaches. Cannot wait to return to my home studio at West U!

I’ve been a member at OTF West U for just around a year. I’ve slowly worked my way up through the tiers of membership as I’ve built my strength and conditioning. I love every single person who works at this studio. The staff are friendly and build actual relationships with members. Coaches are encouraging and hold me accountable to growth in class. The policies aren’t difficult and are clearly spelled out.

The West U location is small and the staff are ok. But over all this is a small studio and customer concerns are marginalized and the leadership solution is that the customer should have chosen a less full class. If we had access to class size and the work outs ahead of time maybe that would be possible but unfortunately that's not how OTF works. There was space 45min before the start of class... how do i know how full a class would be? Today's workout probably would have worked in a larger studio and in this particular studio if Coach Chuk had prepared and thought through the workout, it could have had a more successful execution. The strength blocks were self paced which is very tricky when the exercises involve front to back movements combined with left to right movements. If several members are stacked next to each other this does not allow for customers to experience the OTF workout fully (not in a small studio). Also when the coach specifically directs the class to turn Left so we are all uniform for descending planks, it would be helpful if stations 3 and 4 were not less than a foot from the wall. Being over 5ft tall makes this impossible. The fact he specified which way to turn clued me in this was going to be a tight workout, unfortunately I was at station 4. I would have expected the coaches to study the workout ahead of time and since this isn't Coach Chuks first class, I would have hoped he could have thought through the strength and realized if it was self time/directed that people will be on different exercises at different paces. If the class was full (as per the voicemail its an expected full class time) I would have hoped he would have thought through how to better arrange the room to make the best experience for the customers or realize maybe with this workout they may need to close a few stations to allow for the best experience and for customers to be able to complete the strength segment. For this small space, today's workout was very difficult with a full class. But that didn't happen. The bad move combos continued in strength block 2. When I complained it really wasn't appreciated but no surprise. And the voice-mail I got later suggested if crowding was a problem I should pick a less crowded class. The issue wasn't truly the crowding, it was that the strength floor could be completed without always being in your neighbors way or your neighbor in your way. Again the front/back and left/Right combos just don't work for the studio if everyone is at their own pace. But all good, I'll keep your leadership suggestion in mind and make sure to try and leave this studio as a last possible choice. Thanks for listening but I honestly feel like my concern wasn't heard or even considered.

Poor experience with front desk staff and sales. Buyer beware that β€œrisk free” only applies to other tiers of packages but sales will pitch this benefit even if it doesn’t apply to your tier level.

Front desk staff has no customer service training and refuses to make exceptions to β€œpolicy” which will consume a purchased class. Such an example was when I arrived five minutes after posted class time and they refused to let me participate in the class even though it was obvious that they were only warming up. They were also unable to get me rescheduled due to this reason.

Cancelled due to inflexible policies and rude/poor experience with front desk staff. Left feeling frustrated and angry with just trying to get a workout in that I had paid for.

Coaches were great though.

I have a membership and my boyfriend was looking to take the free trail class to see if he should join me. The gentleman on the phone said to come in 30 minutes prior and sign up. Upon arrival a lady was extremely unpleasant claiming that you must pay $28 for a drop in and you can only take the free class if you sign up on the spot. News flash the membership is monthly… so joining on the day of your free class, makes it not free. Very disappointing to drive 20 minutes and try to get scammed into paying. I enjoy orange theory but joining this cult will cost you an arm and a leg. Not to mention that the staff is sometimes extremely unpleasant and quiet inarticulate.

This area is also terribly unsafe. All sorts of police posters and warnings to lock your car and not leave any valuables inside. Including a poster on the outside of the gym itself. Really sketchy vibes.

This poor gym is so desperate for business it's almost unbelievable- My wife worked out here for a month or two and gave them my number im exchange for a free water bottle. They proceeded to berate my phone with aggressive, minute long sales calls, pleading for me to sign up. It was so annoying that I decided I was going to see how long they would bother me. It is STILL going on 3 years later and I just did the math. They've spent of $100 in wages just calling me and I live in a different state πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ keep throwing your money down a well, you bloodthirsty, bottom-line obsessed, corporate gym! I’ve been a fan of the workouts, but today I’ve realized that the β€œno show” policy is a little hardcore. Today, I got the workout time mixed up and I thought it was at 9:45am instead of 9:30am. 100% my fault. I called on my way over and asked if there’s any way I could get moved to the next class at 10:45am and be forgiven the no show fee of $12. At first, I thought they were going to help me and the front desk went on to review my account. After a bit, I was informed that I couldn’t be waived the no show fee today because in April I showed up late for a class and there was another instance where I double booked and needed them to cancel a class for me.

Let’s review those 2 situations that were brought up. The class in April that I showed up late for, I paid the no show fee of $12. That was the first class I’d signed up for and I didn’t account for traffic as it was my first time taking that route this early in the morning. I was late and it didn’t happen again.

The second situation was an accident on my part in the app where I booked 2 classes back to back somehow and I needed help cancelling one without being incurred the under 8 hour cancellation penalty. Both instances I believe are reasonable and I don’t have a history of β€œno showing” for classes.

The reason I’m disappointed is because their class was likely not full today and it would be easy for them to recognize my error and just move me to the next class. Instead of helping me, they just brought up past β€œmistakes” and used it as a defense as to why they wouldn’t help me today. If I had a history of no showing for classes, then sure charge me. But as I just explained, the 2 instances they brought up were reasonable mistakes that haven’t happened again. I’ve gone to at least 15 classes where I’ve showed up on time.

I understand the purpose of the no show policy, but have a tiny bit of mercy for honest mistakes. I love the workouts here but the policies don’t inspire rapport with the clientele. Your class was likely not full today and it would be no loss to you to reschedule me and waive the fee.

Great studio, from front desk staff to coaches and equipment cleanliness. Drew and Chuk are my favorites (every coach is strong). Drew is really particular about form and pushing clients with additional challenges and weight (his Lift classes are v good). Chuk has great energy, recognizes and calls out when clients push themselves, and keeps a fast-paced playlist (v helpful for runners on endurance runs or sprints). Highly recommend!

If you’re looking to build a fitness routine for endurance building and strength training, Orangetheory Fitness is your spot.

The best part about their group-training environment is that levels don’t matter. You can start out as a fitness novice, pro, or anywhere in between.

The absolute worst customer service. We signed up for our first class at 5am. We got to the facility at 4:30am as instructed, however Mark, the front desk employee, refused to open the door for us. When he finally unlocked the door at 4:50 he proceeded to tell us we arrived too late and would not be able to attend the class.
He saw us arrive at 4:30 and even ignored me as I tried knocking on the door. Not sure why this location allows you to sign up for the earliest class if they're going to ignore you when you get there. Mark had the absolute worst attitude.

Come to Orange Theory if you want to challenge yourself, have a balanced workout and see results! I've been coming for over a year and have lifted heavier, run faster and lost inches and pounds. I've been a member of OTF West U since May 2020, and I've been very happy with the workouts - each workout is completely different and leaves a different part of your body sore. OTF West U additionally hosts fun challenges throughout the year - Hell Week, DriTri Original, DriTri Sprint, Catch Me if You Can, and these events are just fun ways to add to your fitness.
I really like the commitment to members health and safety. Instructions on the correct pose are given right before the workout, and safety measures are reiterated during each class with no exceptions with regards to COVID-19 safety precautions. Physical safety is ensured because each coach takes the time to correct your posture or pose when you're not doing it right - which is the added benefit of having a coach around! I really like how encouraging the front desk is and accommodating for when you forgot your water bottle, how to assist you with getting a friend to come to their first class, etc. The coaches are amazing and get to know you as a person and what your fitness capabilities are, which makes the workouts so much more personalized.
I will definitely be continuing with OTF for a long time, they've really helped me get in shape and stay in shape which has improved my life tremendously! Thank you for all you do, OTF West U!

West U Location:
I joined OTF at a different location that was seriously lacking an inviting and motivating atmosphere. I am so happy I found this location, it doesn't feel robotic and corporate! I love the fun and energetic atmosphere that all of the staff and coaches create; while still being very professional. I prefer their floor plan layout as it provides some separation from the treads/rowers and the strength floor. The facilites are always clean. Easy to find parking, even during full classes. My only constructive criticism/request is for more 3G classes to be available throughout the day instead of early morning only.

OTF Workouts:
The workouts are tough, but I appreciate the cardio and strength mix. I like that I do not have to think about incorporating additional strength training for legs, arms, abs, etc. Recently, I have been attending classes at least 4-6 days a week and find that you get a full body workout if you attend more than the 1-3 days I was going previously.

Pro tip: Check out the Orangetheory thread on Reddit for previews of workouts and motivation from other classmates. This thread has been a game changer for me on days I don't want to go. I honestly get FOMO when a workout sounds fun and challenging (never thought I would say a workout circuit with running sounds fun, EVER)!

I am a potato. I hate going to the gym. I still do; however, my health was taking a toll due to my sedentary lifestyle and I decided to partake in some form of movement at least three times per week. Orangetheory is straight forward and provides me with guided workouts that keep me engaged. The hour goes by rather quickly and I do feel great after each workout. This location is clean and well managed. The parking is a bit tricky and it can be hard to schedule classes in the evening so schedule ahead. While I do think the prices are steep it's expensive enough to keep me motivated to go so I'm not missing out on something I'm paying upwards $150 to be a part of. I do recommend.

The worst otf experience. I was a member of otf for 2 yrs until I moved to Houston. The management, and the front desk people have horrible customer service. The coaches are impersonal and offer no knowledge of proper form with running, lifting, or rowing. It’s all about making money at this location. I miss the triangle in Austin!!! Cancelling my membership bc of the poor customer service and poor quality all around. Very disappointed. Don’t bring new members here, sign up somewhere else less sales driven, find a location that is about creating a great experience and community- that is what otf is about! Absolutely love, love, love OTF!!! West U is not my home gym, but it doesn’t matter because not matter if I’m working out at my home gym or somewhere else, like West U, the staff and coaches are still amazing, kind, and motivating. Orangetheory has truly been life saving and motivating to get me up and to every workout. I love the motivation and hype from the coaches every class. They really help you reach your goals and also help to modify exercises if you aren’t quite ready to perform certain strength exercises. I love the post workout reports that are sent and record so that I can use them as a motivator to increase my performance on the next workout. Definitely recommend OTF to all beginners, intermediate or advanced workout buffs as this place will change your life.

Absolutely love my workouts here! Even for a lazy couch potato like me, they really make it simple & exciting to work out. I'm very data motivated, so heart rate tracking along with calories burned during the workout keeps me pushing. I couldn't find a workout that I looked forward to before Orangetheory, so grateful to have them!

An invigorating full body workout I highly recommend trying out, the first class is free! The front staff are extremely helpful and kind. My coach was Ida Clay who is very encouraging, genuine and pushes you in a professional and helpful way! The workout is combination of treadmills, row machines and weights so it is the perfect trifecta to build strength and calories. The music and the orange lighting keep you fired up and excited!

Avoid at all costs if traveling from out of town and you can’t leave 30 extra minutes for travel at 4A. Google directions are off and if you arrive at 5:04 (Apple watch correct time), it will be 5:05 on the studio clock and they won’t let you work out.

Just so sweet and helpful! They are just the nicest people! Plus the workouts are the best, I would never push my self in the gym on my own! Definitely a life long customer! πŸ’•

I must say one of the best fitness centers I have ever come across. The trainers, specifically Mr. Devin, Mr. Joshua , Ms. Michelle, Ms. Ida and last but not the least the studio manger Mr. Chuck and the studio manager Bellaire location. I would highly recommend if someone is willing to put in effort I am sure every team member is an exception And do not hesitate going an extra mile.

Since I have only came across the few people I mentioned above, but I am very positive regardless whatever studio you go to, you are in good hands :)

They all are very helpful always and easy going. Moreover, they do not take anyone for granted, especially if they know that a person is trying hard to achieve the goal.

Mr. Devin would personally reach out to the candidate, just not to find out that why the person is not there but also they make sure the client is getting what he/she wants to and they do not hesitate going out of the way if they know the person is trying hard.

This is my very personal experience, even though I have only met a few people a few times and, trust me the ones i have even just spoken over on phone, they went above and beyond.

Thank you so much Devin, not buttering you up but trust me just because your of positivity attitude and consistent motivation i took this step and i think I have started enjoying it and you know how much I hate going to the gym lol. 😎

So, after meeting with #teamorangetheory in person and speaking and interacting over the phone I know I am i am in good hands. I feel motivated and positive. Thank you so much all, I really appreciate all the effort, motivation and your time. We need more people like you:) Thank you very much Carlos 😎You were a great help as well :)

Terrible customer service. I signed up for a (FREE) intro class, they took my card information to "reserve" my spot in the class. I had a terrible family emergency that led to circumstances keeping me from the class. When I tried to explain the situation they did not care and clearly only cared about charging my card and making money off of me for missing the class. Poor quality customer service, will never consider Orange Theory again.

Terrible customer service, canceled my membership because I could not book anything other than the 9 pm class and I was in the unlimited plan.

The studio is very small compared to others, I do like the program work out but until they figure out their booking issue or the amount of people they allow per studio this place is not with it !

Orangetheory has been amazing! I wanted a fitness class that will push me, and I have objective data (e.g. calories burned and splat points) to monitor my progress. After being a member for a month, I've already noticed that my endurance and overall strength have improved. I have to spend time predicting my schedule for the week so I can sign up for classes, which can definitely be difficult. However, I think it is worth it. I need the dedicated hour-long sessions or else I would find an excuse to not work out at all. They plan an efficient work-out while playing music that matches the intensity of the workouts. I don't waste time fumbling around a gym, and every workout is different so I will never be bored. The equipment is also awesome. I'm not a runner, but their treadmills have some give so joints feel so much impact. The trainers have corrected my technique/form so that I am getting the most out of the moves and won't let me injure myself. The customer service is great too! My car battery died in the parking lot, and one of the sales persons in the lobby a) looked at my car, b) pushed it by himself out of its spot while my car was in neutral, and c) helped me jump the battery using his car. My day would have been so much longer if he hadn't helped me. Thank you, Devin!! (I'm so sorry if I spelled your name incorrectly.) For those on the fence about joining because of availability for classes: There will be a new OTF location in Midtown (not sure of the opening date), and there is one already open on Bellaire near the Medical Center. I think these locations may eventually spread out members so that the West U location is not so saturated.

Close to my office which makes all the difference - probably my favorite place to do group classes because I can be super competitive and push myself or I can take it easy and do whatever my best is that day. I always leave looking sweaty and exhausted so I can't do it in the mornings - gotta go after work. Bonus is that the studio is freezing which makes all the difference in these summer months. I don't ever want to run outside from May thru September ever again.

Love that it forces me to do both strength and cardiovascular exercise. The coaches are motivating and the music provides variety, though at times, could use some more frequent changing up (e.g., some coaches have the same playlists for multiple workouts in a row). Staff in the front is friendly and very accommodating. Look forward to working out for the first time in my life!

I'm giving OT a 3, although I would like to give more, but the mere fact that I pay for a membership that I cannot use is BEYOND me!! Who would choose such an option in this day and time, and, for that it makes me very turned off to them and the fact that they would be so obnoxious to think that they're so good that people will pay for NOTHING! The coaches and staff are really great, and the workouts are awesome. BUT, until you change your concept where I can get what I've paid for, I'm going back to my old gym. At least I could depend on a work out every day of every week. Sad!

Now that Julian no longer teaches at this location I can't find a coach I like. Please make sure to find coaches that play different genres of music. All that's played now is techno and oldies pop. Given that it's in such a young location, there should be at least one coach that can play hip hop or current music.

I went to Orangetheory West University today for a free class and was turned away for being 7 minutes late to the introduction which started 30 minutes before the scheduled class. I tried to explain to the 6 people behind the desk that my little ones (3 month old and a 3 year old) made it a challenge to arrive on time but they did not care. They said if I was 5 minutes late they would have allowed me to participate but not 7. Two minutes!! The place was empty except for one man sitting by the door. The manager on duty did not even look up when speaking with me.

I'm a certified fitness instructor who has been teaching for over a decade and I have never felt so unwelcome. Trying to keep up with all the new fitness programs out there, I have been to many different studios for a free class. I have NEVER been turned away for being 23 minutes early to class nor shown such little understanding of unforeseen circumstances.

If you are dying to try Orangetheory, try a different studio especially if you are a parent with young children.

I have tried everything from group training classes, outdoor bootcamps, but nothing gave me the weight loss results like Orange Theory. Its the most efficient way of getting the most caloric burn in one hour and keep burning for upto 36 hours. I recently book a new member appointment through a friend and was looking forward to my appointment, but as a new member they ask that you show up 30 minutes early for paperwork. I confirmed several times that week I spoke with there team and confirm my appointment. Even driving there I called to confirm that I was on my way. Well as fate would have it, I arrived 1 minute past the 30 minute mark and they refused to take me or honor my appointment. I understand that 5:30pm is a busy time, but 1 minute past the 5 pm appointment is unprofessional and acceptable. For an organization that is always looking for new people, I'm just a number to them.

What makes this even worse, that their customer service called me this week and asked if I was interested in rescheduling my appointment. I voiced my complaint on their website, through social media, and even sent a complaint to their corporate office. Customer Service is poor at this location and until they learn to correct that Orange Theory will Never get my business!

Workout is great and the trainers are awesome; however, booking classes can be very difficult. You can only book classes for one pay period at a time and most evening and early morning classes are full the first two weeks out. If you can make it on to a waitlist then there's a good chance you will get in but you have to be able to check frequently for an opening. Classes do not roll over to the following month and any cancellations within 8 hours will be counted as a used class. The only time this has been very inconvenient is when I've had to book a late class because that's all that was open only to see an earlier class open up later in the day. If you want to switch to an earlier class, the late class will be counted as a cancellation if it's within 8 hours of the start time. If you purchase unlimited classes I believe there is a $28 fee for canceling. The workouts are intense but can be tailored to any fitness level. Music is usually really good and the trainers do a great job keeping everyone motivated and making sure you are doing the exercises properly.

I was really skeptical about Orange theory but once a friend convinced me to go, I think I'm hooked. The routine changes each time and really gives you opportunities to push yourself beyond what you would do in any other circuit-style cardio routine - which for someone who hates the 'pain' of intense cardio is a real good thing
