I dropped in at Oso CrossFit a couple times while in town recently for a conference. I had a fantastic time! The people were kind and welcoming, and the coach (Maria) was encouraging, hilarious, and ready with coffee and breakfast tacos recommendations. Excellent vibes and a great workout!
I was five months out from shoulder surgery, and Maria was great at suggesting scaling options for me that kept me safe yet challenged. She also checked in with me during the workout to make sure I was ok with the movements.
Thank you, Oso, for hosting me!

I love Oso since day one everyone has been so welcoming. I’ve made so many new friends. The Coaches are so supportive and motivating. My goals are their goals too. They push me to reach and meet my goals. And also pull me back when needed. In a healthy way so I don’t hurt myself. If you have any fears about CrossFit. Like I did. Oso is a great place to start. The gym vibe is on another level. Guarantee you won’t be disappointed. Best part of my day!

Update! Oso is still the place I call home, and all my statements are still true to today.
Update! Oso is still the place I call home. If you're reading this review to get an idea of what you're walking into, trust me, you want to visit us. The energy is good, and the programming accommodates everyone. You'll leave wanting to come back, I promise.
Oso Crossfit has been my training facility of choice since October 2017. The positive energy and dedication of the coaching staff have consistently impressed me. Their expertise and commitment to ongoing professional development ensure that members receive high-quality instruction and achieve their fitness goals. I wholeheartedly recommend Oso Crossfit, even to those new to CrossFit.

A great gym that offers personal trainers, group classes, and I believe you can purchase a regular gym membership. The price isn't cheap, but it isn't crazy expensive either, and it's worth every penny. I already feel stronger and more confident in my workouts.

I dropped in to a class this afternoon while in town for work. I was welcomed warmly by the staff as well as the members. Got a great workout, and loved the warm welcome and the camaraderie that I saw with your members. You’ve built something special here, if I come back To SA I will definitely come pay you another visit. Thanks for what you are doing

I recently completed a weight loss challenge at Oso CrossFit and let me tell you, it really help me get back to watching my caloric intake, help me get organized, and discipline with my eating habits. After completing the challenge I feel that I got my exercise and eating routine back in line. Thank you Coach Eric for his continue dedication! He is the best! He models the way.

Oso gave me the motivation I needed to lose 25 pounds in 4 weeks with the Summer Shred Challenge. Coach Eric is a true professional. He helped me read my "In Body" analysis and adjust my diet and workout as needed. Oso has a program for everyone, no matter what your level is. This is a community of of everyday people helping each other to do amazing things.

The thing I love the most about Oso is its inclusiveness for everyone that walks through the door. Are you nervous to start your health journey? Need people that are going to constantly have your back and keep you motivated?? Then OSO is the place for you! The coaches here actually truly care about you and how they can help you reach your health goals, big or small they got you. The people here at OSO will hype you up during your workout, that it will be hard for you not to come back to feel that rush of excitement. Don’t think twice, just come in and get started! OSO STRONG 💪🏽

Every gym has its gains and losses, but at OSO CrossFit, it always feels like a gain. The atmosphere is consistently awesome, and the energy in the gym is unmatched. The coaches are top-notch — they hold you accountable for your reps and ensure you’re using proper mechanics to stay safe and improve.
Most importantly, it all starts with the owner. You’ll see him there regularly — coaching, motivating, and genuinely caring about every member’s well-being. That kind of leadership sets the tone for the entire gym.
I would highly recommend OSO CrossFit to anyone looking for a supportive and challenging fitness community. They also offer two great training options: OSO Grit and OSO CrossFit, so you can find the style that fits your goals best.

What sets Rick and his team apart is their unwavering passion, methodical attention to detail while coaching complex movements, and vast knowledge of how the human body performs, heals, and thrives. They are genuinely invested in our growth, motivate us without judgment, and meet every member at their skill level.
I joined Oso a year and a half ago, unaware that I was in my first trimester with my youngest son. I had never done CrossFit, and had no interest in starting, but was intrigued by the GRIT classes for the HIIT-type workouts (and air conditioning). Even as the neurodivergent, socially inept weirdo that I am, I was welcomed into the Oso community from day one, and it has been the most wonderful, life-changing experience!
I eventually mustered up the courage to try a CrossFit class, and immediately felt safe. There is absolutely NO bro science, only actual science and professional guidance by highly trained, educated coaches who celebrate every win alongside you—Eric leaves no crumbs with his unmatched dance moves and contagious laugh! Rick’s work ethic and unrelenting enthusiasm spreads to his coaches and members. I have Oso to thank for my mental and physical health, quick postpartum recovery, and continued improvement.

Great CrossFit Gym. I have been a member for 4 years and when I joined I was super intimated by "CrossFit". They welcomed me in and have been coaching me ever since! I have since visited other CrossFit gyms and this is definitely one of the better ones around. Whether you are looking for a place to get super fit, just workout or even a place with a great community, OSO is a great place! Thank you OSO for what you do!

I started CrossFit at this box 3 years ago! I was stuck in a rut at big box gym, bored out of my mind in the "3 sets of 10" routine of lifting weights and doing some cardio. I was so intimidated and scared since I didn't know how to do any CrossFit movements, and I did not think I would enjoy a group class atmosphere at all. I was blown away by how nice and welcoming all the coaches and members were. These class leaders aren't employees at a gym who punch in and punch out of work...these are certified coaches who are not only educated in the CrossFit movements, but are so so so INVESTED in the health, wellness, and success of the members! I wish I could give a 100 star review as 5 stars does not do these people justice. If you need a welcoming, supportive environment, and friends to encourage you to reach your goals, this is the place to be.

I LOVE OSO CrossFit! I moved to San Antonio from New Braunfels. My New Braunfels CrossFit coaches recommended OSO CrossFit. I was hesitant at first, going to a new gym. But, as soon as I walked in, I was welcomed. The owner, coaches and members make it not only just a gym, but a home away from home. The programming fits all skill levels. Saturday work outs are a great way to meet other members. If you are the last one working out, everyone cheers you on until you are finished. If you are looking for a CrossFit gym to join, or drop in when you are in town, come to OSO!

I recently visited CrossFit OSO feeling very motivated to join their gym and get a membership. I had previously taken a class and loved the overall experience – the class itself was great and the coach was fantastic. However, the sign-up process was a huge letdown.
I was eager to start my membership that day, but unfortunately, I got the runaround. I was shuffled between different staff members and repeatedly asked the same questions, including more than three times if I had done CrossFit before. It felt like they were hesitant to sign me up, which I couldn't understand.
Things only got stranger towards the end. When I mentioned my partner attends CrossFit OSO, the focus shifted to him – who he was, what class he took, and back to whether I had any CrossFit experience. This line of questioning made me feel unwelcome, and I decided to simply pay for the class and leave.
I went in feeling excited to join the CrossFit OSO community, but left feeling quite disappointed. Cross fit is difficult and I understand their concern, but this was rude and unprofessional.

My good friend recommended Oso Gym and I messaged their IG page. Someone responded promptly and I met the head coach at the gym the same day; Eric. He was very kind, welcoming, and showed me around the gym. A few members at the gym were welcoming as well. You can feel the strong sense of community in the climate of the gym. I’m very happy I found a temporary gym home while in San Antonio. I invited my coworkers and three of them have also joined! I love the workouts! Typical one hour time frame. Very challenging but there are scaling options for every fitness level. The gym has everything you expect in a CrossFit gym and there is a lot of space. I highly recommend you to drop in if you’re looking for a great workout.

I don’t ever post reviews that are negative so in doing so I hope to save people some time: Overall this gym has all the bells and whistles, some seemingly cool coaches, and a pretty attractive location and layout. BUT their monthly prices are exorbitant for San Antonio, exceeding $280 (above Manhattan, NY from where I recently moved) extremely inflexible billing policies for folks who travel regularly, and quite honestly an owner (Ricky) who gut instinct strikes me as a hustler over the “culture” guy he professes to be. Also, he plays garbage music, for those who care.
Response to below for those who got this far: The owner severely exaggerated the issue I had raised, classic gaslighting, which is all the confirmation I need that he is indeed, a hustler. And a good one at that!
Also, check out the SUPER legit reviews from “UK out of towners” who happen to also have bear insignias. lol
I’ll see myself out.

What a gym :)
We dropped in to Oso while in town from the UK and instantly felt at home. It was such a great box that we did both days in SA here rather than continuing our CF Tour and moving to a different gym.
The members were super welcoming and Rick is a brilliant coach and clearly a caring and engaged owner. The amount of quality equipment actually blew my mind. It is a great space with a whole separate conditioning space.
Rick did a fun intro at the start of both class so that we got to know who we were sweating next to which really helped make us feel even more welcome. All though the class he had a great energy and really looked after us.
Whenever we find ourselves back in SA this is def our home away from home and I was actually sad to leave.

I reached out to Rick (owner) after being brought on to be the head trainer and manager of another gym in San Antonio and asked to drop in with my new owner for a class. As an experienced athlete and CF trainer, the class coached by Antonio lived up to what I envision a class should look like. The facility is always immaculate, with no shortage of equipment to train on, Antonio demonstrates the tenants of coaching tremendously and the workout could not have flowed any better. Whether you are looking for a new CrossFit gym to try for your first time or are a seasoned box owner/athlete/or coach, Oso is a gym worth a visit. This affiliate makes me proud to be a CrossFitter.

When I moved here a couple of months ago I knew I wanted to meet new people and also find a new type of workout that would help improve my strength and flexibility for the new Army physical fitness test. Oso CrossFit has helped me meet the goals and much more. I love the family vibe at Oso and the fact that CrossFit-ers of all ages and expertise levels work out here. As a complete newbie to CrossFit I was pretty nervous about joining, but Rick (the owner) helped me feel at ease with the Elements classes that are one on one classes with Rick where you learn the essentials before starting in the group classes. All of the coaches make sure to check in with you to figure out what's working and not working for you and to help you with your form. Even after three months I'm starting to feel stronger and see changes! Joining Oso CrossFit was one of the best decisions I made since moving to San Antonio and I'm so happy to be a part of the Oso Family!

I was fortunate to find Oso CrossFit while traveling to a conference in San Antonio this week. I typically focus more on powerlifting, but when I travel I often find that CrossFit gyms are good for maintaining my fitness. However, I had the most welcoming and productive experience ever at Oso CrossFit. Rick is an awesome coach, and quickly proved to be one of the best trainers I have personally worked with (and I've worked with a lot).
Rick was very efficient in figuring out where I was in my training plan, and his programming exposed several weaknesses that I had failed to recognize (or, purposefully ignored). He provided clear guidance throughout the classes, and his classes are easily accessible to individuals from all skill levels.
If you live in San Antonio, check out Oso CrossFit. I have been to many CrossFit "boxes," but this was by far the best. If you are traveling, drop in and get your day started right (or end it right) by checking out a class. You will be glad you did.
