Working with Amy was exactly what I had hoped for. She provided excellent feedback about my form -- exactly what I needed -- as we went through all the different Pilates forms, explaining how to adjust my position to activate the correct muscles and how to modify a move when my body wasn't quite ready for the classical position. I will practice at home now, trying to incorporate all she taught me, as I look forward to our next session.

I've attended nearly 50 classes in over four months and it's been a game-changer for my well-being. I haven't book any private classes yet and just thought I'd dive into the group classes and learn on the fly. The instructors were accommodating to newbies while also maintaining an effective workout session for the whole class.

High-impact workouts, while effective for many, unfortunately caused an increase in my cortisol levels due to stress. Seeking a low-impact alternative, I decided to explore pilates. I was honestly a little intimidated by the reformers, but I was determined to give it a try.

Pilates is now a welcome part of my routine. It provides me a much-needed outlet after work, something I genuinely look forward to throughout the week. It has help me manage stress in a healthy way. After gaining 30 lbs, in a course of 3 years, I finally was able to lose the accumulated weight in 4 months! This was a huge victory for me since I've struggled with managing hypothyroidism. I also felt disconnected from my body but pilates has boosted me profound way. Dietary changes, particularly cutting out excessive sugar, played a major role and pilates complimented my new lifestyle very well.

I initially tried at-home mat pilates with a bar, but staying motivated and consistent proved challenging. That's when I discovered the value of a group class setting. There's a sense of community that also adds another dimension to my pilates practice. Research shows that areas, like the Blue Zones, known for exceptional human life longevity, highlights the importance of social connections for overall well-being.

A huge part of this positive experience is the incredible instructors. They each bring something unique to the table:
- Lizzy C.'s infectious enthusiasm pushes me to reach my full potential.

- Amy A.'s clear instructions and focus on proper form ensure everyone gets the most out of each exercise in a supportive and encouraging way.

- Amy B.'s calming and encouraging presence makes even the most challenging exercises feel achievable.

- Christina R. has been my savior! I've attended many of her classes and like that I'm able to find availability that works for my schedule. I think that she has a deep understanding of the body and her ability to tailor exercises to individual needs have been invaluable. Her passion for pilates is contagious, and her supportive guidance has been a key factor in my progress.

The classes incorporate a variety of equipment, and while certain exercises bring on those trembles of truth (those moments where you reach your edge and push through), the instructors provide guidance and encouragement. There's a great balance between familiar routines that allow me to refine my movements and new exercises that keep things interesting.

I've seen significant improvement in my balance, coordination, flexibility, mobility, and strength that my body needs to maintain on a daily basis. I'm constantly noticing new sensations and feeling a stronger mind-body connection. It's almost like each exercise reveals a tiny truth about my body's potential.

The studio itself is bathed in natural light thanks to ample windows. This isn't just about aesthetics – all that sunshine can help boost your vitamin D levels, which is great for bone health and can even improve your mood. Studies have shown that sunlight exposure can also increase serotonin production, a neurotransmitter associated with feelings of happiness and well-being. Anyone would be glad they didβ€” I had no idea how much Pilates could do for my overall strength, flexibility and balance… and each course is tailored to the client based on level of physicality, age and health so nobody is left out. I started at the Pilates center to get in better shape when my firstborn was 2. Two months later I was pregnant with my 2nd! Even though I was nervous about working out too much while pregnant (higher risk), when my doc signed off I continued regular weekly sessions with Heather. Heather’s expertise in modifications for pregnancy eased any anxiety and made for a great way to stay healthy. My last practice was 36w and 3 days and she was born at 37w 1d! Throughout my entire pregnancy Heather focused on exercises that helped strengthen all of the muscles I needed for a healthy pregnancy and strong delivery. I’m convinced my sessions helped me have an efficient and safe, non medicated delivery. A few months after baby arrived I started working out again and have been focusing on pregnancy/ labor recovery and getting stronger to be a healthy mom of two!

Shaylyn is an excellent and knowledgeable teacher, and the studio was exceptionally clean. CDC protocols were in place and I was happy to see my teacher wipe down the space as I was leaving. A friend of mine had been several times, so I wanted to give it a try. The instructor was very helpful and clear during the workout. The three of us participating, were a little close it seemed and we occasionally had arms or legs bumping into the other. The workout was not too strenuous for a beginner. Another instructor my was there, and she helped set up the appointment. She was very friendly. I enjoyed the class overall.

Ive enjoyed going to group and privates with Beth. She is very informative, her delivery is succinct and she has a fun time with her classes. I love her vocabulary and the way she describes each of the exercises. Nothing is rote and mechanical. I've been going to the Pilates Center since September of 2013. Having done aerobics in the past, I was getting older and my hips and joints could no longer take the high impact of that type of exercise. I tried pilates and I've loved it ever since! The center is always clean, the instructors are friendly, and well trained. I feel stronger in so many ways and I no longer suffer from sciatic nerve pain in my hip.

I love this studio! The owner and teachers are amazing! I love that there are male and female students of all ages, sizes, cultures, and backgrounds and everyone is made to feel comfortable. I have struggled with an illness and Pilates has been wonderful for building my strength and confidence. Heather and AimΓ©e challenge me, but also respect my limitations. My back, core, and neck are especially stronger and my posture and alignment have improved. I have seen many changes in my daily life due to a stronger body and better balance. I used to have regular aches and pains and those have significantly lessened. I love the online scheduling and the fact that the teachers work together to help you achieve whatever goals you have in mind. Great studio and staff!

Why did Ruth Buzzi, Reds pitcher Brandon Finnegan, and Moncrief family members choose this Pilates studio over all others? Perhaps the same reason I chose it. RESEARCH. The owner and staff are college degreed professionals and "certified" instructors. What does "certified" mean? It means that they each had a butt-load more hours of real Pilates school than others. This is the "real deal" Pilates. It ain't Pilates lite.
I had done Pilates then moved and stopped. I got an email offer for a free session at The Pilates Center and have been religiously doing Pilates for a year now twice a week. The negative is that I have had to buy smaller clothes.
Try it, you'll like it.

I have been attending private & group classes at The Pilates Center for over 3 years (2010 to present) & am really glad I chose to start with Pilates at this studio. It is a beautiful welcoming space and most of all the instructors are really well trained and know what to look for to help you. Since starting here I have noticed more increase in my muscle tone and core strength than with *anything* else I have tried - even the gym! Leave a voicemail & they will call you back. I can highly recommend The Pilates Center - it's in the same center as Walgreens at Ridgelea Ave & Camp Bowie, upstairs right above the Smashburger.

The Pilates Center is an uplifting studio with kind, encouraging professional instructors that help you to do your best no matter what level you are at. I especially like the one-on-one instruction offered on the equipment but, working out with a partner is fun too. I always leave feeling invigorated and stronger.
