The manager will lie to you When I joined I went to the gym just down the road from my house ,
The one who did my enrollment, said he has been the manager from the day it opened, so I said ok what’s the cost he said $1 for the first month , I asked when will my next charge be period , he said next month your lol get A $49 annual fee , then the middle of the month you’ll get a 25$ charge for your black membership . I said ok sounds good The next day I was charged 25$ So I called to ask why he said that’s how it is,, I said not what I was told He said oh well k didn’t enroll you I said are you the manager He said yes I said you’ve been there since day one , he said yes I said oh that must be a lucky guess on my part Then I said nope you like to brag on yourself He hung up on me , so I went down there He was up front so I said You enrolled me Your the manager from day 1, he said yes but I didn’t enroll you My trainer did I said damn he must be your twin and also has been the manager from day 1 of this location .he said no he is new So I said so you enroll me Put his name on it lie to people where you can push it onto someone else He said no I said you enrolled me ya lie your a scam I said I need the number to customer service He said we don’t have a customer service. So I went to google planet fitness customer service Boom there it was Showed Him said now I will go call them He said good luck There’s no such thing , well smart boy there is and a complaint has been filed against you Plus I was told ya get a lot of complaints
Also the planet fitness in Allen is nasty The employees don’t clean nothing You as a customer must clean each thing before use Is what they told me Nasty place And I’m a life long weight lifter At 60 years old

The dirtiest men's changing rooms I have ever seen. I have been asking them to clean and I always get a look of "I don't get paid enough to care." And then they go back to surfing social media. There is nothing more bored than stepping out of shower and walking on floors with enough dirt you could grow plants. Such a lazy team with zero concern sanitary conditions of their floors.

This planet Fitness charged me twice in January 2025. I talked to the manager and other staff members every week about it. They first told me they were going to reverse the charge. Nothing happened and I kept going back and asking them what’s going on. They kept promising to do something about it until now. Still nothing….
The manager herself promised me. I called and left a message last week but still not a single response from this facility. Is it how a business supposed to run?

Allen, TX ... Time to look for a new gym. I have been working out here for 7 months 5-6x a week. The first few months were great, but the current employees are sub-par. Night crew obviously doesn't clean because the gym is nasty first thing in the morning. The morning employees sit on the counter on their phones... very little cleaning. Most mornings there is no tp, no paper towels and trash everywhere. Sometimes the same trash is on the bathroom floor for multiple days. Nasty.

I joined Planet Fitness in January. It’s been a great experience the entire time. The staff the day I joined were warm and friendly. They are knowledgeable and always great to see. Vaden and Haden are both awesome. I’m happy I found this location.

Great gym with plenty of cardio equipment, even during peak hours. However, one thing I don't like is their card swipe system. Most gyms have a setup where you can swipe your card yourself, but here, you're dependent on someone else to swipe it for you every time, which can be a bit inconvenient.

I came here on 3/11 during a work break and loved the machines and space to stretch. However, since I have to go back into work, a shower is necessary and I was so disappointed with how the women’s showers were. 2/3 showers were out of soap, the one that did have soap, the dispenser was broken. The showers were also dirty and you could see hair stuck on the walls. So just beware if you’re thinking about going to this location and wanting to shower after your workout.

FRAUD ALERT! I signed up on a promotion only to find out I was charged $150 for additional memberships I never authorized. After mentioning this to my credit union Navy Federal the representative stated they have been called by other members claiming the same issue and were working on resolving the problem.

PLEASE BE AWARE: the particular PF location has been implying wrong charges on clients account. Been going here for over a year, they had been wrongly charging me on several occasions. Every month they supposed to withdraw $10.83 but somehow my 4 consecutive bank withdrawals showed $20.83. Now with the annual fee, from $53.04 turned out to be $63.04. At this point its very clear whats their motive is. Billing error? I don’t think so. If you intend on joining this gym, be aware. If you’re going and reading this review, check your bank!

Everyone on the staff is very helpful; and the gym is always clean. There is plenty of equipment, and it is rarely crowded when I go. I just wish the patrons would clean off the equipment after use. Some do, but some don’t. You would think after the pandemic, people would have learned; but there isn’t much the staff can do about this. There are signs up, of course, but people ignore them.

This club is filthy! And the photos I took is at 1 o’clock in the afternoon on Christmas Eve and it’s not that busy. Tanning facilities are absolutely horrible. There’s smudges all over the glass hair all over the ground. When you step out on the floor it doesn’t look like anybody cleans in there at all Went to the bathrooms to wash my hands, cause I felt disgusted after getting out of the standup tanning booth went into the men’s stall in the urinal was filthy with old piss stains all over it hairs and you could tell it hasn’t been cleaned in quite some time ,the stall next to it was exactly the same , trash overflowing in the men’s restroom and two kids standing behind the counter doing absolutely nothing. I pay $30plus a month for the black membership for a nasty filthy gym. The equipment isn’t even wiped down after people use it, There’s dried up sweat stains on the equipment! Do y’all not have a cleaning crew? Very disappointed

PF happens to be 1.5 miles from my house; lots of nice equipment and anyone can get a workout there. I wanted to get back in shape ASAP after lifting for 35 years; I decided one day to quit and then 9 years flew by! I felt terrible and looked even more terrible and I needed to get in shape ASAP. Remembering what I knew would be so effective and introduced to me in the 1970's; I knew that only circuit weight training at a cardio level pace to it would give me the best overall full body workout and get me in shape fastest.... so for 6 weeks I did the 30 minute PF circuit workout 3X per week; but I only did the weights! I tried to save my strength and I didn't do the stairsteps in between weight machines however, if you can do the steps too; you are already in shape for sure! I did each weight machine lift pushing myself to about 95% muscular failure, meaning I could have done 1 more controlled rep; but I felt I needed to rest a bit more so I stop just before total muscle failure. The only rest time is 60-90 seconds max between machines and I never saw anyone ever complete the circuit doing both weight machines and steps as the circuit is set up. Just make sure you push yourself hard and you will see it is a tremendous way to get in shape... no faster way IMO

So much hate on this Planet Fitness. Wow! It was a good stop for me this afternoon, spending about 40 minutes on the 30 minute workout circuit where everything was working just fine.

After that, a quick visit to the showers where the hot water took a bit to start up but was otherwise good. Clean enough shower and locker room.

A limited facility in all material aspects. Fewer equipment, limited hours, and ill-trained staff with no capability to provide any straight answer.
The one dollar sign up and the $10/month subscription is nothing but gimmick when you consider the annual fee attached to the $1 scheme, and the use restriction on the so-called $10 membership. Yet, with the alleged "cancel any time" it is rather questionable why would this business with require authority to access your bank account in addition to automatic charge of your credit card.

Actually pleasantly surprised. This place never is crowded and I think is priced really well for what you get. I have a black card membership so I can workout with a guest anytime. The hydro massage beds are always available (and included) Staff is nice.

The circuit room is not crowded (but I never go on weekday afternoons so I don't know)

I like it opens at 5am. Plenty of cardio machines. Everything is new.

A few small drawbacks. Dumbbells only go to 75#, only have smith machines (no barbells) and people just sit on the machines in the circuit room so even when not crowded you have to skip passed them. I just go to the main area and do them there.

No pullups bars?

Their "functional room" is just more machines.

Set a space aside for like 1 smith machine next to a rack of dumbbells and a little open space so people can some high intensity circuits, lunges and maybe some medicine balls and a jump rope (perhaps a pullup bar). You could do a ton with that.

This is my home gym because it’s closest to my house. It’s always clean, the staff are friendly, the assistant manager Garrett is excellent and goes above and beyond. Definitely recommend. The location is a bit smaller but it’s never been busy enough to be a problem for me.

I like the price 1st of all, PF is very reasonable. I like the gyms availability hours of operation. Check in is a breeze, and PF app has good resources. I like to document my exercises and time spent for figuring calorie expenditures in this app. Since I've started my fitness journey I mainly use the circuit machines for a overall upper body and lower body workout. I like that other machines and free weights are available too. I have used the stationary bike and treadmill but my favorite cardio machine is the rower to finish off my workout.

I liked planet fitness but people have a slight problem following to wiping things down(Sanitizing) after using equipment
Also I stayed sick more then not. If your sick stay home people don’t share it with everyone at the gym. The no judgement zone is actually good. I felt lost most of the time because couldn’t afford a trainer. I would recommend the business to others just be self aware of others who workout sick

The staff is very friendly and helpful and the gym is the cleanest I’ve visited. The only problem is the equipment and the layout. The equipment is all new Matrix but I don’t like it because you can’t customize programs and instead have to use their pre-programmed workouts. For example, I used to be able to set my own paces for running on the treadmill or the stair master and change with the press of a button but now I can’t. In addition, the treadmill has a very large stop button right in front of the handles that is very easy to hit and when you do, it erases all progress instead of just pausing. Very frustrating when you are trying to track a workout. I definitely prefer the equipment at older locations. As for the layout, my old PF had a designated area for stretching and this one doesn’t. There’s no space to stretch that isn’t blocking a piece of equipment so it’s very awkward. The same goes with doing workouts with the kettle bells or just free form. Overall I feel like it was poorly laid out for customer experience and instead the focus was on packing in as much equipment as possible.

This new location is so GREAT it’s now my home gym! Welcoming staff. Extremely maybe even obsessively clean. Lots of brand new equipment including things missing from other clubs like bands. HQ - Just one request. This location needs at least another set of kettlebells. Any exercise that you need balanced you can’t do because there is only one of each weight level. I chose this jym because of peace and quiet. The other day pop (not popular) music was so laud that I barely finished exercising. And I noticed that many others with headphones because of the music played. And I asked them - they didn't like that music at all.
I think if someone wants to listen music, he (she) can listen their own. Everyone likes different style, and listen kind of the opposite style as torture.
I like this jym. It's clean, full of equipment etc. I don't want to quit. But I'll have to if that bad taste music continues to play.

I have to agree that friendliness and customer service is a bit lacking. I called in advance requesting that my membership through my insurance be looked up over the phone and I was told that I had to come in and do it. So I go and my membership is looked up and it prompts the manager on his computer screen to call my insurance but he tells me I have to call. So I did and the insurance company is closed on weekends. Long story short, he was not able to set-up my account but I did get a free pass to workout which was good. However, if I would have known all of this over the phone as I requested, which would have only taken a few seconds to look-up, I would have just waited to come in when everything could have been set-up.

Showed up to the gym this morning 30 March 2023 at 5am and myself and 3 other people are standing there wondering why the doors were locked and no one was at work. Gym hours clearly say they open at 4am. Guess I'll start going back to the Plano location

Nice facility and new equipment . Ken was helpful to get the new equipment going. A short 15 mine drive from McKinney. I no longer have to drive 30 minutes away. You should check it. I have waited for this location to open!!
