Shower area is the worst, no privacy, stuff barely hang to the only hook which is almost inside the shower.
Also water pressure is so strong, it hurts the skin and there's no way to lower it down.

This is probably my fifth or sixth time at this gym, and I’ve asked the guys at the front desk several times to repair or clean the bearing holes on the chest press machine. It’s clear that the machine isn’t working the way it should — the bar lowers very stiffly because debris has gotten stuck in the hole shown in the photo.

Stopped in to shower while traveling..showers were clean but TINY changing areas..I had to go to the restroom to dress. they close at 8pm on weekends 10pm during week, the best thing is they have tokens for the massage in a container on the desk!!! I’m changing my review from three years ago. I’m a truck driver so parking is always #1. There’s no semi parking signs but I parked in the back and didn’t get harassed on my 10. Shower was high pressure and hot. The equipment was up to par and water fountain was cold. Thanks a lot!!

This gym really had good potential. Men’s locker room very dirty, same paper towels and other trash on the ground when I’m leaving as there was three hours ago when I arrived. Toilets not clean looking at all, showers look improperly cleaned or not at all, mirrors and counters near the sinks have toothpaste and water stains like they haven’t been tended to all day. Water fountain tastes disgusting and isn’t cold. A lot of the machines need oiled, not sliding smoothly how they should on the metal poles. Also why are the lights so dim in here? I’m an over the road truck driver and this is one of my least favorite locations I’ve come across in the whole country. Will do my best to not come back to this location

I've been to well over 100 PF clubs, and since they're all so similar, I typically rate them on a scale of 3-5, based on size, quality and quantity of equipment, how crowded it is, etc. This is a 4-star gym. Overall, it's a very nice facility, and if I lived in the area I might consider working out here (the Crunch nearby is also a nice option)...but it's a little bit smaller and is missing a lot of the machines that the 5-star PF gyms have, and this one made the horrible choice of going with Matrix cardio equipment, which is inferior to the Life Fitness option they also had.

Very small and very basic location. No music, no hand sanitizer, over-heated, lacking some of the better equipment which most PFs have (Hammer Strength, Life Fitness, only 1 pair of dumbbells for each weight denomination).

There is an issue in the men’s locker room with water on the floor just sitting there in front of lockers as well as Political propaganda being played in the locker room.

We all have our own views the one thing that I love about a workout at planet fitness is every gym minus this one has always had music playing.

It’s not something that should be forced upon someone to listen too at all. Especially since it’s all negative and fueled with the wrong agendas.

As planet fitness is a judgment free zone the one place politics shouldn’t be heard is in the locker room on the tv.

That’s why the 3 stars water in front of the lockers like a leak and the political agenda of this particular gym being forced upon members.

Terrible, nasty, dirty, smelly!!! By far the worst Plant Fitness we’ve ever been to. My wife and I are team truck drivers. Have been for 8 years. We train and shower at PF everyday. We do 6,500 miles a week and we’ve been to at least150 different Plant Fitness clubs throughout the country over the last 8 years. By far the dirtiest club of all. Showers had a white soap film top to bottom gross!! Two of 4 showers had no shower curtains. Mens Dressing room had a stench. Mirrors were trashed everywhere you looked on the exercise floor dust bunnies surrounded every machine. What blew us away was 4 employees standing at the front desk talking and doing nothing! Whomever is responsible for this club needs to be fired. And those employees that can’t or won’t put forth any effort to improve conditions should find other work as well. Plant fitness corporate management needs take a peek pay this club a visit. This club should be shut down for a deep deep cleaning. I’ll reach out to the health department tomorrow and have someone inspect this club . It’s a dump!!

IN MY LIFE I had entered a fitness planet with the most disgusting bathrooms. The showers are disgusting, the shower curtains are full of moho. The walls are dirty and slimy. This should be fined because the bathroom is where we are most exposed to contracting a skin disease or fungus.

As soon as I left the bathroom the two girls who were there didn't clean it and just talked and talked. They simply opened the curtain so you could see that the shower was empty. Isn't the membership that thousands of us pay monthly not enough to pay for a good cleaning or buy curtains by the dozen at a dollar tree?

They should urgently address this negligence. This is how they must have the bathroom in their homes.

I will start off by saying that I am grateful for the PF gym in Amarillo. It is always good to go anywhere and find a gym under your membership to work out in.
Now, on to the review. The gym is old. No other way to say it. It is in desperate need of an overhaul. The equipment is quite outdated, even for PF, as most of the PF gyms in other cities I've visited have already been upgraded. The ab crunch machine even as several weights (purposely) removed. What would have normally been 200+ lbs only goes to 160 lbs after the bottom weights have been removed, which severely hinders the ab workout of people who are well past that weight (and especially since most PF gyms have the full amount of weight stored in each piece of equipment). The employees seem pleasant. I am a bit baffled that there are no "self-serve" scanners to log in to the gym. They manually have to scan a member in with a hand-held scanner, which seems outdated in and of itself. The Amarillo gym also seems to have an over-abundance of treadmills, but severely lacks in weight equipment, both manual and machines alike. My hope is that, one day soon, someone with real clout will heed the many posts on Yelp and other platforms that are describing the same thing I am regarding this Amarillo gym that has so much more potential. By the way, I have already spoken to management and employees regarding the issues of the gym, but they don't know any more about future changes than the average member who goes to the gym.

Went in today with 2 friends, all 3 of us wanting black card membership. The young blonde woman at the front desk seemed disinterested in helping us and was uninformative. Asked her coworker to give us a tour, who also seemed disinterested in helping us. The tour he gave was subpar at best and it was very brief, he never once showed us or talked to us about black card membership perks. After our 5 minute tour was over, he went to help someone else without saying anything to us so we all walked out. We got memberships elsewhere and will not be returning or recommending this location.

The young woman also mentioned that the prices / plans change often and it was very confusing.

At approximately 4:30pm on 22 December 2023, I was almost injured running on the treadmill by two "man children" attempting to "exercise" with a 5/8lb medicine ball. I cannot fathom how gym equipment can be blatantly misused to the point of bodily harm to others. Luckily I was able to recover but no apology was given. There is only disrespect here and no courtesy for the wellbeing of "fellow" gym-goers. The reckless abandonment regarding rules and etiquette has peaked my anxiety. I can no longer trust this establishment in fear of an unsafe environment. I will advocate not recommending anyone to do any business here.

We are on the road full time so we enjoy doing our workouts and having access to showers. I realized recently that posting reviews to PF is pointless! Each owner will respond with” Thank you for feedback, please contact the location manager to discuss your concerns “. If I’m taking the time to post a review, shouldn’t the OWNER be reaching out to their managers THEMSELVES?? And maybe MANAGE your own locations???? Went from 24 hrs to limited hours “because of the pandemic” and false promises were made that “soon soon (it would go back to 24hr)” and now more limited hours by reducing one extra hour from 11 pm to 10pm on weekdays. This was my first time in a gym at all. I chose planet fitness because my husband recommended it to me. The facilities were nice. The atmosphere was mostly okay. About halfway through, a woman approached me and hovered over me on the treadmill, and once I finally acknowledged her she launched into accusing me of stealing from her. She had no basis for these claims, and she continued to dog me for her money. I had no clue what she was talking about. Management stood by and did absolutely nothing. They allowed her to harrass and threaten me. Absolutely horrible experience.

Big points were lost for not having access to hot water at the sink and showers. Today was day ONE of my membership at PF. The men's restroom was down. The equipment is impressive and in good condition. The workout stations were very clean. The convenient spray cleaner, paper towels and trashcan made cleaning before/ after use very easy. I enjoyed the black card perks. But after an ice cold shower, a three hour work out, tan and quick chair massage, I was definitely ready for a quick hot shower to rinse off the sweat. Instead it was a rapid ice cold shower. Sad face. Bummer is, there is a different gym much closer to my house that does have hot water and all the same perks. Please fix these things quickly so that we can continue visiting the gym. If not, I'll have to switch gyms. 😩😩 I have cloth seats in my car and I don't want to drive home smelling like sweat.💖Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The rest of the facility was on point!!!
