Last month as I was takkng a shower, they gave no prior uodate or sign posted they were going to shut off the water. They shut off the water in the middle of me taking a shower. This month, all week there's a sign posted at the front desk saying no hot water. Also the hyrdro beds were not working at all. 've been coming here almost 6 months now since moving fr om san antonio. The location is close to where I live but it seems like there's always water issues because overall the water don't really work, the changing area except for 1/3 only has a sitting/bench area. The other 2 there's nothing. Also theres at times people smoking Marijuana in there. Cold water if it does work, spa is going to be 50/50. Machines are eh.

The bathrooms are pretty gross most of the time compared to other locations and it seems like it’s always super busy. Equipment is decent but good luck getting the machine you want. Lol

It's clean and cheap and all, but still a gateway gym. This is not the place to be if you're a trained, long-time or high performance athlete.
If you are more of a leisure sporty then it works. Typical gym etiquette is not used here. Examples are not knowing about rotating machines with people waiting in long lines (especially with how packed it gets in the afternoons) and talking on the phone in the workout area (even though this is explicitly posted about around the gym).

Visited here 9/21 as a last resort. This place is disgusting. The best part is filling up your water bottle and getting a big gulp of nice warm water instead of cold. The Planet Fitness at 1819 S Pleasant Valley Rd. Austin, TX 78741, is filthy, bordering on disgusting, and has so many inoperable machines that I couldn't begin to count them all. This gym also smells awful and has abysmal lighting. Thank god I brought my trusty bottle of spray alcohol, or I would have left within minutes after I arrived.

There's not much to say other than what I've already mentioned. I believe the ownership and management of this facility don't care, so I won't bother with any suggestions. I'm leaving an extra star because one staff member said goodbye as I left the facility.

The staff is friendly and give a off a great vibe. The men's restroom gets heavy traffic, having said that, It needs attention more often. There has been some malfunctioning machines, but I've seen a technician in today. Good to see things are set in motion. I would like to see a free weight squat rack or two please! Also maybe a couple hip thrusts machines, as to free up the smith machines in peak hours.

Management here is an absolute joke. The gym equipment is poorly maintained, the water fountains are always extremely hot, and there is constantly homeless people in the bathroom because the front desk pays zero attention.

In addition to running the gym poorly, they are also unwilling to help you if you find yourself in a situation, like this ongoing one with me:

TL;DR: I was threatened to be killed over having my locker next to a roided out old man. I reported the situation with video footage, and they did absolutely nothing. They are uncaring when it comes to member safety, and will do absolutely nothing to help you if a situation arises, so be careful.

There is a really creepy man here who hangs out at the gym for hours every single day, and if you are new around the gym he makes a point to try and make you very aware that this is his space and he has been coming here for a very long time. Every single time he is at the gym the same time as me he stares at me the entire time, scoffs at me, does strange things like stand close to me and look at me and just say absolutely nothing even if I acknowledge him and say hello or something. I have ignored it until last week when he blew up on me hardcore in the locker room for having a locker next to his, and threatened to “knock my head in” if I don’t get my things and get out.

I was able to capture a little bit of video and immediately took it to the front desk to report him. He followed me out and also went to the front desk. He yelled at the front desk person, denied nothing, said he has been coming here for 15 years and needs to he shown respect by newer people. The front desk person told him he needed to get out, and he responded by saying nobody is going to be able to do anything to him because he knows the owner, which has held to be true honestly.

They told me they would ban his membership, but he is still there, doing the same things to me. I called their corporate office, and all they did was send me back to the manager at this gym who can’t be bothered to answer the phone or call me back after calling the number they told me to.

I am positive nothing is going to happen, so attached to this review is a picture of the man so you can be aware, because he will most definitely be there at some point when you are.

This seems to be a pretty consistent thing with Planet Fitnesses across the country, I suggest taking the time to read some reviews. I will be cancelling my membership and spending the extra $10 it takes to go somewhere else. I would suggest you do the same if you value your safety at the gym, and working out in peace.

Evan is the definition of rude and judgement!! He is a mean night shift worker that never even pays attention. He’s in his phone instead of ever looking up at the guests. He told me “do you have a problem dawg” and “watch where you’re going”. I felt threatened and he made my entire workout thats usually peaceful into me being upset. I guess he gets paid to watch tik tok. The restrooms are dirty on his shift so that’s probably how he has so much time to do nothing

It does depend what you want and which location you go to. Planet fitness is low cost with well maintained equipment, including more options than most gyms. The shower facilities are good, but no sauna or hot tub. The (higher priced) black card membership is good for access to full body red light therapy (also includes a vibration plate). I use the two types of massage machines sometimes, but tanning doesn't float my boat (included with black card). Black card is reasonably priced. If you're interested in red light or vibration plates like me, please educate yourself on side effects. Red light requires eye protection (provided by planet fitness). Vibration plates have the possible issue of shaking unwanted material free in the body, a documented problem for people at risk for kidney stones. I'm not sure of documentation, but blood vessels also have material that should not be shaken loose. Keeping the knees bent helps to keep the vibration in the lower body.

She is kicking butt!!! I have been a member for years and never wrote a review but lately the gym is looking good. WAY better since she has been there. I have been to several other gyms in Austin but Planet Fitness really stands by their rules and cares for others. It is truly a no judgement zone. You aren't hearing annoying music or noise from other gym customers. You have to wear headphones and be gentle with the equipment. No one is bothering you or hogging the machines. Opened 24/7. Water dispense gives cold water. There are only two hydro beds and two massage chairs. The black card waiting area is outside. The range on bed 6 is for short people. At six feet it goes to knees and shoulders. I noticed in Austin they use a different remote control.

I been using Planet Fitness for almost a year and I have been with various centres all over Austin and everybody was so kind to me each and every Planet Fitness, I didn’t even touch any equipment. I should just shower, just shower, most of my showers, wet and rain, but since Anderson lane were Walking on the showers, I happened to drive to. Pleasant Valley in Austin, there was a guy walking. Midnight was very disrespectful. He dumped my bag which was lost and found in the dump

box. I asked him for some Quenncy started behaving very disrespectful. He started showing attitude which he should not. I asked him, can you give me some coins for my chair? He refused. He’s telling me to close the locker room. I was searching the locker room which he had dumped my personal in the dust bin 🗑️

This place is ridiculous. I need to send them a certified letter to cancel. The last few times I was there the showers weren't even working. I'll never do business with PF again.

I’ve been going to this Planet Fitness for a while, but my recent experiences have been extremely disappointing. The night shift staff, particularly one individual, is consistently rude and unprofessional. It’s clear they have no interest in customer service or maintaining the welcoming environment Planet Fitness is supposed to stand for.

To make matters worse, the locker room feels unsafe, especially at night. I’ve witnessed suspicious activity that seems related to drug use, and nothing is being done about it. The staff doesn’t seem to care or address the issue.

It’s incredibly frustrating to pay for a membership and have to deal with these problems. This location needs serious management attention to improve the environment and enforce some basic standards of professionalism and safety.

Amazing experience at the Riverside location of Planet Fitness which is 24/7 establishment and without a doubt the busiest Planet Fitness in the area if not the entire state. The store manager Rudy sets the tone here and it's so obvious as I always see him cleaning, checking on customers and just making sure the ship is running smoothly and it's rare to see that and it gives me a strong level of comfort knowing that the attention to detail is paramount here, especially the cleanliness. Also this morning Jeph, Joseline and Hannah were also doing this that and the other thing and are very attentive to all of my to needs whenever I come in. It seems like Jeph never slows down whenever I am here. Not to mention that this is not my home fitness center I am still treated wonderfully. Great place and thanks again.
