Reading all the other comments about the AC and I will say that it was true when I first started going to this location. There was a noticeable temperature distance going from the main gym to the black card area, which comparatively felt like an ice box. However, the last month or so the ventilation has felt much better. Staff is friendly, location is clean, a little smaller than other locations but it gets the job done.

Only other thing to call out, which I’ll plan to share next time I’m in, I don’t think the stand up tanning bed works, or has the wrong bulbs. I’ve been using it for a few weeks with no results, and the stand up bed at the Farmers Branch location worked great so was disappointed the Carrollton one wasn’t giving me the same results. And then I used a lay down bed instead the other day, and had to get out after a few minutes because I was burning. Which should not have happened if the standup bed had been working all these weeks with me going the full time. Anyways, after 2 short sessions in the lay down bed I have more of a tan than weeks of the stand up at full time.

Locker room is small, only a little bench and only one changing room, but I actually think this is a great pf location. Especially if you are a late nighter on the weekend. All the other ones in the area are only 24/5.

I’ve been going to Planet Fitness at this location for 4 months now and love it. It’s a welcoming gym with a nice and calm atmosphere. The equipment at this gym is always clean and easy to use. There’s also plenty of machines to use here which makes it convenient. The staff is friendly and helpful especially Jacob who’s been helping me out with the membership process. Overall the experience here is comfortable and awesome place to work out!

I have tried not to give this review. Complained to the front desk a couple of times but I guess today will be my last day coming to this particular planet fitness or just cancel my membership altogether. The gym isn’t bad but why don’t the AC work? This is not acceptable. I usually come early to workout like 6am but I decided to come in the afternoon today thinking the ac will be better because they claim the landlord controls it but I’m disappointed as it’s still super hot and surely the air conditioner is not on. So sad as I actually loved working out here for the last two months. Time to find another gym!!! Shame

I ended up going to this location because its in the same area my job is i happen to work overnight on Saturday decided to get a 30 min workout after work a couple of reps and finish it up on the bike the staff was pretty chill they probably remember me the guy with the white tee and black hat trun backwards I came in around like 6ish I know it was a guy and a female staff they was will.chill and the last staff after I left was pretty cool chill the machine definitely pretty good definitely will be coming to this location after work 😎 nice laid back atmosphere.

Come on down to PF to see the manager Jacob! He is an awesome professional who showed me around the beautiful facilities and worked to help me find a good deal that works with my insurance. The place is clean, organized, updated and welcoming. Such a great spot--especially the spa services!!!! BTW: All AC issues solved!!!!

Today is July 29, 2025. I have tried to used this location 4-5 days a week since the first day it opened in May of this year and not once has the air conditioning worked. I've gone as early as 6:30am and it's so bad that I'm in pouring sweat before I make it to the locker room. Only a small section near the front door/treadmill area receives a cool breeze. Every other section - Smith machines, free weight area, stand alone machines - is stiffling hot. I'm talking 85+ degrees with humidity well above 40%. There is absolutely NO air movement in those areas. I have spoken with most employees regarding the problem and the usual response is that they'll pass along the complaint. Frankly, their current attitude is "We don't care." More workouts have been busted at this location than I can count. This morning I left this place after walking across the parking lot only to find the automatic front doors propped open, allowing any chilled AC to roll out into the 99 degree morning weather! A pair of employees just stood at the front desk, letting the doors stand open. I turned on my heels and left.

Is anyone at corporate going to address this?

It's quite clear this location is being managed on-the-cheap. The franchisee holder is either unable to or refusing to put any more money into this rehabbed CVS pharmacy than he's forced to. As a small business owner I cannot imagine a corporation allowing this to go for a short march of days.

I visited this location for 5 days on my trip to Dallas. Whoever left bad reviews here is tripping. The AC is working just fine, especially in comparison to every other location in the US that I've been to. Not getting a heat stroke and not even needing to use a headband for 2 hours on the stairmaster is an absolute indicator of proper temperature for me. This is a really nice brand new location, with super friendly staff (and especially Hudson), and plenty of equipment for a smaller footprint. They have actual free weight barbells in addition to the Smith's machines. Such a pleasant experience!
THE ONLY small suggestion for improvement - please consider adding hair dryers to the women locker. Thank you!

This location is ok. Its very small and doesnt have standard circuit machines like a seated preachers curl and tricep extension that other local PFs have. Its locker rooms are also crazy small w only one little bench. Its new and clean, but you are certainly limited in what you can do when comparing to Farmers Branch, Las Colinas, and The Colony locations.

I transferred from the Farmers Branch location, to Carrollton but like others have said the AC is intolerable. We’ve talked with the manager and they agree but apparently it’s just not fixable and everyone is expected to be miserable. Went back to the Farmers Branch location and they say, yea they’ve heard the same thing about that location, but nobody will fix it. It’s been months.

I transferred my membership from the Planet Fitness in the Colony to the Carrollton location as it’s only a 5 minute drive from my home. The club is much smaller than The Colony but has the equipment that I use so the size isn’t my issue.. Unfortunately, as others have voiced in their reviews it is very warm in the gym which makes it uncomfortable. I go in the afternoon around 1:30 so I can’t say it’s warm because of the number of people in the gym. I like the convenience that it’s close to home and was excited when they opened but I am now considering maybe transferring back to The Colony which was at times maybe too cold. I don’t have the black membership so maybe that’s an option to switch to so I can go to both so I don’t melt in the summer months in the Carrollton location. It’s disappointing that so many people are complaining but no changes have been made.,

I’ve been attending the new Planet Fitness in Carrollton since it opened about a month ago, and unfortunately, the experience has been consistently disappointing. The biggest issue is the poor ventilation and lack of adequate air conditioning throughout the gym. There are entire sections where you can’t feel any airflow at all, and in some areas, especially where sunlight hits during certain hours, the heat becomes unbearable.
It’s extremely uncomfortable and makes it almost impossible to complete a proper workout without becoming completely overheated and fatigued.
I have expressed my concerns several times, yet no visible improvements have been made. It’s clear that proper air circulation was not prioritized in the design or daily operations of the facility, which is a serious oversight for any fitness center.
If Planet Fitness wants to be taken seriously as a place to improve one’s health, they need to start by ensuring the environment is actually safe and functional for exercise. Until then, I can’t recommend this location.

This should be a great gym since its new; however, it disappoints. The first thing you will notice in the main workout area is the fact that is too warm. The only exception is if you happen to be directly under the only ceiling fan in the gym. The employees are nice but report there is nothing they can do about it or it will be fixed later this week - which never happens. I believe it's a cost/profit issue. Their profit margin may be too narrow, but you are not going to attract a lot of new members when it's stuffy/stagnant, claustrophobic, with limited machines in there.

It's a small gym so you won't see all the equipment you will see at a full-size Planet Fitness. And when one breaks, you won't have any options. It's not that easy to walk from one area to another because everything is crammed in there. Not enough elbow room - literally. In addition, some of the machines are not ergonomically correct as they were in the past.

The AC works great in the black card area and the entrance area of the gym. Unfortunately, there are only 2 massage chairs and 2 hydro massage beds. On top of that, staff does not verify if a member has a Black Card membership before they grant access to this area, so if you are paying a premium for a Black Card Membership, you may have to wait for freeloaders to get off the massage chairs you are paying extra for.

I'm very impressed with this gym
There is so many stations with brand new equipment..free weights all kinds of machines for every group of muscles..a area for stretching and lighter weights
Many many cardio machines with plenty to watch TV
Clean showers and free lockers
Delvin was excellent at showing me the whole gym and a free hydro chair message which was a complete surprise for my back..I was sold ..and all that with the black membership of 25 dollars nationwide I can use at any planet fitness..so important to have courtesy of staff like that

I’m a member at a different local location. But the Carrollton location is closer to my home so I thought I would check it out. It’s small compared to my location. But I accept my location is unique in that aspect and I’m spoiled. But the deal breaker and why I will NEVER come back to this location is it’s HOT!!!! I was here 10pm-11:30pm so definitely not peak hours in usage or outside temps. The Sun isn’t out. Yet it was sweltering! It was uncomfortable from the moment I walked in but I didn’t want to drive to my location so I stayed. They need to figure out air circulation and they need to add a couple AC units. I can’t even fathom being in that gym in July. This location is a HARD NO.

Nice employees. Nice new equipment. They have free weights and squat racks. So they get a couple stars. But that’s the end of the positive. It’s small and cramped (which I expected when I saw they were taking over and old CVS) and hot hot hot!

This location really needs to fix the temperature. I've been coming here since day one, and I went to the Lewisville location recently after a while, and the difference was super noticeable. Also, kinda wish there was more open area to do stuff like stretching, push-ups, or planks.

I live in Italy and was visiting from Miami where I keep my PF membership. Nice visit to the newest PF in Garland! I love my Black Card membership that allows me to visit any location in the USA, and bring a guest with me. Clean and fully loaded with everything needed for any type of workout. Very helpful staff greeted me and assisted with the few questions that I had. After the workout, the Hydro massage bed in the black card spa was so relaxing!

This gym is good but would be a whole lot better if there was better air circulation in the building. There’s only ONE fan for the entire gym and the AC is seemingly insufficient to keep the building at a reasonable temperature. It’s hot and humid. Other PFs in the area aren’t like this. I’m drowning in sweat as I type this and the sun isn’t even out. Otherwise, it’s a decent gym to work out in…but I don’t think I’ll be coming back any time soon.
