First time at this gym, as a truck driver I was hoping for the usual PF atmosphere and amenities. Honestly, it’s over crowded with machines, 1/3 of which don’t work. There’s no real area to use mats, everyone seemed to be crowded trying to find areas to use for their workouts and the bathrooms are small. Women’s restrooms don’t have private changing areas, showers were cold and when front desk was alerted the girls said “yeah we’re working on them” however no sign was placed to advise members. Most likely won’t return to this location, the one in Lewisville, TX is way more welcoming, clean, and roomy.

Itd be really cool if they would have a clock in the gym that actually works instead of just employees standing around talking to each other.

It was a great gym for almost 20 years until Planet Fitness took over. They brought in a lot of machines nobody uses in place of an exercise area that got lots of use. They brought in new equipment which was much worse than the old equipment they took out. They seemed like they couldn't care less about what their existing customers wanted. Add in the fact they never had wipes or paper towels in the bathroom, and they play got incredibly dirt in a short time. I happily canceled my membership and found a far superior gym with more to offer for the same price.

🌟 Pleasantly Surprised!
I walked in expecting the usual sea of purple, but this Planet Fitness had a whole different vibe. For a moment, I thought I was at the wrong gym! Turns out, this location used to be Texas Family Fitness, and it shows, in a good way. The equipment selection is impressive, especially the free weights, and it feels like PF might be leveling up their standards here.
The space is large, clean, and well-organized, with a super friendly staff that makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. If this is a glimpse of the future for PF locations, I’m all for it 💪🏽

About a month ago, an employee threw away my water bottle after closing time, saying she had the authority to dispose of anything left in the club. I checked the trash cans to recover it and left.

A few weeks later, the club manager called me and told me my membership was cancelled for "contract violations," referring to the fact that I had emptied trash cans in order to find my bottle.

I was disappointed by the way this situation was handled. Instead of working with a member to resolve a simple issue, the club chose to cancel my membership without giving me a fair opportunity to explain.

I would caution others considering this location that customer service is lacking and management does not appear to handle issues in a professional or member-friendly way.

I’ll be honest with it just didn’t feel comfortable, it didn’t look good so therefore it didn’t feel good.

Incredibly dirty and it’s pretty massive but it felt like I was in fever dream. I know it wasn’t made to be a planet fitness at first but it would’ve been worth it if it got renovated for it to look like a real planet fitness.

As I was currently looking a different gyms to join, I toured Planet Fitness. The front desk staff welcomed me and answered all my questions with knowledge and enthusiasm. The entire club was clean and looked brand new. I was impressed inside the men’s locker room; it’s the cleanest men’s locker room I’ve ever seen. I will definitely be back soon to join.

KJ the trainers manager is up for some fraudulent activity. I spent 1.5 hours explaining my needs, signed up, paid for my training sessions only to be disappointed with complete opposite as to what was requested. There are no communication amongst peers, retaliation and expectation of being paid for no reason.

6-19 I was charged another $164. No one knows why other than it happens. I am being asked to block future payments while I pay my membership dues with the same card. I need my $164 refunded immediately. Landon hasn’t gotten back to me.

07-01 it’s been 2 weeks since they haven’t placed my $164 refund asking me to contact my bank. This place is a nightmare and they as you to pay 12 months of membership fee upfront.

They are theives

I came in for a workout as most people do when entering a gym. My card was recently struck with fraud so I replaced the card, went in to change the info, I was late by 2 days but explained the situation to the employee. I was told I had 19 dollars in late fees over these 2 days and that I "hadnt paid in months" I immediately showed the employee, Emily, that I have paid on time since they became a Planet Fitness and was just told I had to pay the late fees, no solution no sympathy. I would like to say she was just doing her job but after looking it up Planet Fitness assesses late fees after 7 days. Im very disappointed to say the least with Emily and hope something is done about this. Ive been a customer since this gym was a texas family fitness back in november of 2023 and am genuinely contemplating switching gyms after this TERRIBLE experience.

Try cancel the training session but no call back even though left a message couple of time. The fee has been charged on my credit card, no refund has been issued.
No wonder review is only 3.7 compare to other club
Bad customer service
KJ is the one who supposed to handle it, but he did not do his job.
Very disappointed.

Haven’t worked out here, but a 1-star review considering I cancelled three memberships under my account when the acquisition of TFF took place. Despite cancelling all three memberships, I still got charged for a few months afterwards. Was told my a few staff that “this is a common issue” that they’ve had with others who cancelled. I have the cancellation forms for all three showing no additional payments were due and no cancellation fee was incurred but was still charged. I went in the first time and was told that I’d get a call from the manager given he had to give approval. Was told “don’t bother” emailing them because emails go unresponsive. A week went by, no call. Despite visiting in person multiple times afterwards to speak with the manager..who is never on site…and being told he will call, I’ve never gotten the call. Good news is I’m no longer being charged, but I’m still owed for the months they did charge after I had cancelled. Ideas for management:
1) if your cancellation policy is to only cancel in person..make sure the cancellations stick.
2) stop charging accounts when you have no authorization to charge
3) redefine the managers role. Multiple visits over the course of about a month to always be told no manager is on site is insane. Further, if he’s never on site and not getting back to customers..what is he “managing”??

I’m still waiting on a reversal to charges you took without authorization. You’ve got my contact info on file and can clearly see my name. At this point I’d rather communicate via email so I have a paper trail.

Unbelievable that I need to jump through these hoops.

I don’t like coming to the gym anymore.

The AC can always be lower/turned on more to circulate the air more often. The machines are so close together so everyone feels like their on top of each other. Not a good area for body weight exercises cuz the wood floor area room smells weird and doesn’t have good options. There aren’t enough cleaning supplies when it’s busy. When it’s busy around 6pm you might as well not come unless you want to add 30 minutes to your workout cuz you’re waiting for machines to open up.

The least you can do fix the AC. Maybe I wouldn’t be so agitated while I sweat just sitting there.

Amazing staff extremely clean the only reason loses one star is because it seems to only have one of each machine instead of multiples like other planet fitness I’ve been to so there is wait time when you’re in a circuit but amazing place

PF over TFF. Replaced all the free weight benches and machines with absolutely horrible old Nautilus equipment. The previous Life Fitness and Precor machines were far superior. They crammed so much equipment into the same space, it now feels very cramped. The dumbbell area has been reduced and everyone hates having to maneuver around, trying not to run into one another. The fixed barbells are always loose. The bench presses are now in the stretching area that everyone was happy to have and used heavily. Whoever managed this takeover really didn’t pay attention. You took a decent gym and made it much worse. Tip. Get rid of god awful Nautilus machines. They are ridiculously over built and uncomfortable to use. The red machines are the absolute worst. They have twice the metal and parts of the much better competitors and just flat out don’t feel right. People hardly use them because they are so poorly designed. Also, you don’t need that many squat racks. Get rid of two and expand the dumbbell area back to what it was. Fix the TV’s as well. The bar is pretty low so improvement should be fairly easy.

This is one of my first gyms I ever been to so I might be biased! But two things I love and I hope they never change;

1. They’re the only planet fitness I’ve been to that have free weight barbells and dumbbells! Love those

2. You can bring a visitor for free anytime!
Please don’t change those two things!!

And thanks for the new equipment, was super hyped to try all the new stuff

Also sometimes front desk service can be a bit rough, but they hired some new people who are a lot nicer. Overall it’s a cool place

From bad to worse. Texas Family Fitness was definitely a "pay for what you get" gym. Now, Planet Fitness has taken over and it's a "pay for less than you get" gym. They replaced all the perfectly fine equipment with outdated and broken equipment. At any given time, at least 3-6 machines are out of order. I expect this to be a trend, as the equipment they brought in is easily broken.

They put in 13 "new" tvs. 4 of them work. And 2 of them are on the same channel. So, 13 tvs, 3 options.

It's really a 0 star gym. Only worth it if location is a big issue.

Hardest place ever to cancel your membership. It doesn’t matter if you physically visit the location, call the customer service number or email the “ provided “ email you get the run around or no follow up on their end except telling you to file a dispute with your bank.
