I like this gym overall — the equipment is mostly new and the environment is solid — but the restroom situation has become a recurring problem. Several times this month alone, both toilet paper rolls were empty, and today the only roll available was wet and on the floor. This has happened many times before, and I’ve brought it to staff and management repeatedly without lasting improvement.

I have limited time to work out before work, and having to leave the gym to find a usable restroom is unacceptable. I held off on lowering my rating because the facility does have positives, but this is a basic hygiene issue that keeps happening. I hope management or corporate addresses it soon so the rating can go back up.

This place is such a mixed bag. The prices are great for your basic membership at about $10. The $25 per month is great because you can use any of their gyms in any state and you can also use the massage machines, I think there are at least three kinds, and also the tanning beds and two other machines that are supposed to be good for your skin and vibrating you for some reason to tone you up. I honestly don’t know what these machines do, but they do come with the $25 membership.😆
I’m going to say the staff is almost always a 70/30 of nice or rude and incompetent. They demand that you give them two forms of payment because they want to make it harder for you to quit. If they mix up which card your payment is supposed to go on, they will charge you a late fee and when you can’t find anyone to talk to on their customer service line and the manager is hardly ever there when you need them to be there, they will charge you extra fees on top of that because it’s even later. About half of the sitting bicycles will be missing a pedal or won’t come on at all.
Other than that, they have some really fun music and you can stare at the TV while you work out if you want to. The bright paint colors are pleasant and help me to stay alert. Most of the machinery is kept clean, but the inflatable balls for doing crunches are always really really dirty. There’s usually a soap dispenser hanging off the wall in the ladies’s room and toilet paper scattered on the floor.
Notes: Get a schedule of what kind of music they are playing when you want to be there. Also, Google the specific Planet Fitness you are going to and check the grid to see how busy it is. No one likes waiting for machines.😁

I have been pondering to post this new review on this planet fitness at this location, one evening I was very very tired went to the backseat of my vehicle to take a quick 20-minute, nap before I went into planet fitness to do my workout, and as I was 10 minutes into my nap I felt the car list up off the ground and heard the engine of a tow truck about to move off with my vehicle, at this point I got up late on my horn, to let this individual know, hey I am in here, play proceeded to strap my tires down turn to the hook, but I did not get off that horn because at that point I realized, is about to steal my truck, I pleaded with him over and over to let my truck down off the lift can you call me a Niger, hey I am not a Niger, let my truck down I'm calling the cops, no I did, you made me so upset but I maintained my, respectful character as a black man with power, as I was talking to the police woman on the phone, she said the cops are on their way hold on, and that it was illegal for him to take lift your truck up off the ground and proceeded to move it anywhere was against the law, me myself I already knew this, but I listened I brought myself into a calm place and yelled out the window to the gentleman, he will not win and he keeps and he said you don't even know how much the the hook fee, I said I don't want to know, because the same way you hooked it up you can let it back down and wrong you are stealingin you are stealing know if and buts about it what is the proper procedures on hooking a vehicle is to see if anybody is in the vehicle, no matter what time of day it is or night, right now I have suffering PSTD, and I'm afraid to go to any planet fitness center in this district, possibly and this whole state, anyway he let my vehicle down we had a discussion, I was able to bring him to reasoning with me that he was wrong, no unhooked toffee on nothing I was very happy but I was totally shook up, it could have went the wrong way nasty, thank God my psychology professional is payed off. Now I just imagine if I were to go in to the planet fitness to workout, and come back to my car or truck not being there I'm afraid, realize it's going to take some time for me to get over this PTSD. But I'm just warning you guys be careful out there when you go to planet fitness to workout honestly, and your vehicle may not be there, when you come back out. Life is short, life is sweet, don't let anyone, make your life short. As a Christian God bless you all.

The Skillman location parking lot is having repeated car break-ins. They smash and grab and it’s all very out in the open near the front door Either the gym needs to get better outdoor security because cameras are doing nothing or the landowner needs to provide it. Park at your own risk!

I’m a black card member and have visited many locations in Florida, Georgia and Texas ands this is the worse gym of all. Machines broken and not fixed for months, the air conditioning not working in the massage bed area for months and now in the whole place. God knows when it will be fixed. The staff has ai don’t care attitude. Horrible location.

There are about 500 cardio machines in front but only one leg extension machine that works. This is always occupied because people think it's a rest chair to sit and text on for 30 minutes. There's also only one leg curl machine and one calf extension machine that's always occupied too. There's nothing to work out on, even at non-peak hours. Sad!

I was really disappointed in this gym and the entire PF organization. Something was always broken at this location. Also, for a few weeks, the one water fountain was out of order. When I shared my concerns, the staff made it seem like I was out of line. The cardio machines take way too much space and there isn't enough free weights for everyone. The dumbells also only go up to 75 Ibs. The thing that got me to cancel my whole membership was the promotion allowing high school kids to work out for free. Planet Fitness isn't so cheap anymore, but they still want to get away with being a "budget" gym. Do not sign up here.

Never in my 4 years of coming to Planet fitness have I been so embarrassed & talked poorly to up until today. Taylor, one of the associates/employees came up to my sister & I while wiping down the smith machine to get off. Mind you, my sister and I decide to use one smith machine and take turns to allow fairness. We were on the smith machine about 45/50 minutes taking turns for our lifting workout. Taylor came up to us in a disrespectful manner saying “be considerate about how long you’re on the smith machine because there are other people who want to use it”. Mind you, we do PAY for a black card. We come here so often and this is the first time this has happened. We felt so embarrassed about how she spoke to us in front of everyone near us at the gym. We think this could’ve been done more discreetly if there’s a problem with us working out. To top that off, we brought the situation up to management and Taylor began back talking us to try and defend herself, giving both my sister and I an attitude IN FRONT of the assignment manager. Taylor, the associate, had to walk away in order to keep her calm. My sister and I do believe the entire situation was handled poorly. Like I said we come here so often, 4 years as a PF member and this is the first time something like this has ever happened.

Disappointed After 7 Years – Not the Planet Fitness We Knew

My wife and I have been loyal members of Planet Fitness for over seven years. We’ve always appreciated the “Judgment Free Zone” philosophy and supportive environment. Unfortunately, our recent experience at this location has made us seriously reconsider our membership.

As Black members, we felt completely disrespected by a trainer at this gym. This individual continuously bothered us during our workouts simply because we train together. Instead of offering encouragement, the trainer insulted us—telling my wife that she must be the one training me because I’m overweight. When I asked her what made her think she was a trainer, she replied, “Because I look like one, and you don’t.”

To make things worse, she accused my wife of being an “outside trainer” and told her she wasn’t allowed to train me—just because we were working out together. That’s not only absurd but offensive. We were simply supporting each other, as we’ve done for years.

This kind of behavior is the exact opposite of what Planet Fitness claims to represent. It was degrading, unprofessional, and frankly, discriminatory.

We’re now considering canceling our membership or transferring to a different location. Planet Fitness needs to seriously evaluate who they hire as trainers and how they treat paying members. The environment has changed—and not for the better.

This gym has two leg extension machines one which has been broken for the last 4 months. Isn’t there a some way to get this fixed in a timely manner? Not only that but this location does not have enough benches for the free weight area or for the smith machines. I’ll still come because at least everything else works and it’s by home, I just wish that stuff wasn’t broken for long periods of time.

Worst customer service. I had to go into this gym 3 times (and call 6 times) just to cancel my membership. Apparently there was an issue syncing my account after they bought out Texas family fitness, which left them unable to cancel my membership in their system. No one would get back with me when I reached out multiple times to make sure the issue was resolved. Additionally, the customer support representative on the phone was extremely rude. I was canceling in the first place because the equipment is about 90% cardio, and machines are always broken. I will never attend a planet fitness again.

UPDATE: My card was just charged AGAIN after I was finally assured that they resolved the issue. This has now been going on for two months. I finally had to contact my bank and have them block the charges. I have truly never had such a horrible experience with a business.

I've been to other Planet Fitness locations that were well stocked with napkins and kept really clean, but this one was disappointing. A lot of the napkin dispensers were empty, and two of the machines I used had a strong odor. I get that it's a gym, but it would help if the staff wiped down the equipment more often since not everyone does. There were also weights left out that hadn't been put away. I went late at night, so I feel like an employee should've taken care of that by then. Little things like this make the place look unorganized. On the bright side, I do like that it's open 24 hours.

Hi. I’ve been a Planet Fitness member for over a year at this location.

Please allow me to address some of the negative comments, before you go elsewhere 🙂

Shawn the manger has always greeted me with a smile and fist bump when I walk through the door! He and the rest of the staff are working hard, doing their due diligence addressing all concerns listed in ALL reviews!

The machines have been fixed along with the bathrooms. I’ve even witnessed Shawn in there putting a ceiling tile back, after checking a pipe that had been fixed. Then he started mopping the floors while training a new employee. The staff cannot control everything. Unfortunately people abuse machines, and apparently 1 person couldn’t handle their pre workout lol and broke a bathroom door a month ago😂.(I’m not sure if that’s what happened to it to be honest lol)

I also want to add….How impressed with the front desk I am! Especially today March 20! The new employees customer service skills are amazing! I took a break after two hours on the treadmill to chat. Not only were they attentive to me. But I loved the fact Kimberly and Caroline stopped chatting with me, and addressed other members needs! Such as one gentleman purchasing water! They were Extremely professional and polite! No member was ignored or left waiting! It was great to see that MEMBERS NEEDS COME FIRST!( What we pay for right😉)

Stop in and take a tour, check the place out! Super affordable and you have nothing to lose, and only great health to gain! Hope my review helps! Remember…You matter and deserve the best my friend🙏

The manager, Shawn, refused to cancel my membership when I was in person. Told me that I had to come back the next day to cancel. However, when I spoke to an employee they were able to cancel my account without issue. When I asked Shawn why a regular employee was able to do something he claimed he could not, he began giving me an attitude and became rude. One of the two stalls in the men’s locker room had no door, just a shower curtain. The other one had no toilet paper and had graffiti on the inside. One of the two urinals is also broken. No mats in the abs area. Multiple machines broken.

The sink area was covered with water and toilet paper and the locker room overall was just dirty and smelled.

A lot of the equipment just stinks. Like no one has cleaned it in a while.

There was also a guy just standing around in the locker room in jeans (sagging) and a backpack most of the time I was there. clearly not there to workout…

My fiancé and I were members of Texas Family Fitness but the company sold all of our memberships to this Planet Fitness with zero prior notice. I received NO emails, NO phone calls, NO mail about canceling the memership if I didn't want to be a member at PF. My fiancé canceled his membership and we thought it canceled mine but apparently mine was a separate account so I was charged the next month. I went in to cancel and also ask for a refund and was told to come back another day to talk to a manager about the refund. Bryan the assistant manager was the most unhelpful person and essentially said I'd have to dispute the charge with my bank. I asked for an email or phone number to call and place a complaint and he said no. I asked if he could give me any kind of corporate contact and he just shrugged his shoulders. HORRIBLE, SHAMEFUL BUSINESS. Shame on PF.

I’m aPlanet Fitness black card member. I have been to this club three or four times although it is out of my neighborhood. I stopped in today to use the men’s room, and it was filthy. Just went over to Texas Fitness to cancel my membership due to insurance company change and found it closed down as now merged into Planet Fitness. Got home and found my membership moved to Skillman PF but wouldn’t allow me to cancel my ‘transferred’ (without notifying me) membership without physically coming in or even cancel at another PF location that’s really close to me—-no reason for your company not to allow me to cancel by phone or online—-guess they want the chance to ‘change member’s mind’ or such. They just bought Texas family fitness and closed it down with no warning. They transferred all accounts from TFF to PF and charged us. Now they're making it difficult to cancel, as I was just in the process of moving and cancelling my TFF membership. TFF was a great gym. I don't think there is very much overlap in the types of guests who would sign up for PF and TFF. Now everyone has to find another gym so they don't have to deal with PF. If I was staying in Dallas I would check out Recess instead of this place. Can't believe they did this.

I’ve been a member of planet fitness going back to 2015. I had my membership tied to a bank account account that had been closed, and I neglected to switch it over to my new account. For several months no one ever told me when I checked in. It finally got caught three months ago at which point of time I updated it with my new account information. They continue to bill my old account, and today was told that I owe several hundred dollars because they had not in fact updated my account. This represented unpaid membership as well as late fees which had accrued. I explained this to the system manager working, and he didn’t care. It seems silly to me that they would be willing to have someone who’s been a member for almost a decade cancel the membership because of their mistake.

It was 10/21/24 at the time was 11:10ish. I walked into the gym and Jay's sunshine self greeted me in a happy and warm manner. It was very genuine while still showed his personality. Even when I was leaving, he was having fun and joking with his coworker which shows he was consistent and not just putting on a corporate greeting. I vote him Store Manager🫡🫡🫡. The trainer that was up there was just on his phone oblivious to who's walking in. That is expected because when I was a trainer most of the trainers were just thirsty for their next client.

I am an out of state PF member, visiting family for a few weeks in DFW.

My husband and I are PF Black Card Members, and wanted to bring my youngest sister along with us to try out the gym. We were thinking to convince her to join PF.

Upon arrival, we were told this location does not provide the 24hr free day trial I have introduced friends to at other locations.

We were greatly disappointed at this service we experienced.

Irritated that no solution was provided to me for tanning lotion. The “systems were down”and I’ve not used this perk on my black card yet. Instead of offering a sample or any type of solution to the system issues when I said “So are you saying I can’t tan today” your employee just said “Yeah”

So, what are the perks of being a black card member if issues outside of my control mean I can’t enjoy said perks. From a customer service stand point, find a solution. Don’t just turn your customers away

I've been to several Planet Fitness locations, but this one is by far my favorite. The atmosphere is welcoming and positive. Spencer is my favorite, and Jalon is always friendly and helpful. The rest of the staff at the front desk are also fantastic, going out of their way to make me feel comfortable and supported. Highly recommended!

My experiences with Planet Fitness have been nothing short of excellent. I am ALWYAS greeted in a friendly and professional manner, the equipment is always in good working order (or clearly marked if temporarily unavailable and usually resolved by my next visit) the extra perks like the massage chairs or tanning booths are a nice way to end a good workout, and I am always thanked on my way out. I am recovering from my seventh of surgeries in three years so my membership is crucial in my recovery. While I have come a long way, I still walk with a cane. There is a delightful young man who works most evenings (his name escapes me right now) and he always offers to walk me to my car or to, at the very least, watch me to ensure I make it out safely. The club is located in a dynamic and bustling area of homes, townhouses, and big-box stores as well as small businesses. So safety, is not really an issue in my opinion. However, it is nice to have this extra measure of safety. In short, my Planet Fitness experiences are the best in terms of value, facility amenities and customer service.

Planet Fitness will not budge on demanding your account and routing number, even if you can pay with a card like you do everywhere else. Absolutely absurd that they willingly choose to lose out on yearly contracts simply because they demand extra personal information.

This situation with Planet Fitness is why more and more of us are seeing gyms as the scummy, money hungry businesses that they are. With sign up and yearly fees (for what exactly?), I’m already weary giving you a card number. Especially when I call the phone number and one of the first automated recordings says “if you have noticed an extra charge on your bill…” Yeah, no thanks. I’ll keep looking for a more straightforward place. Thanks for helping me dodge that bullet.

I was very disappointed with the conditions of the lay down tanning beds! Filthy and 9 bulbs were out. The guy behind the desk was on his phone and not very helpful. He didn’t tell me they were out. When I went back to let him know he said he was aware and maintenance would be there in about 2 weeks! Plz inform customers! I’ve been to a few facilities and have not experienced this!

The other day I came to the gym it was two black gentleman at the front desk, talking and laughing. I’ll go in the locker room area, the shower and restroom area was very dirty.
I was trying to figure out how is it 3 o’clock in the morning and Nobody has not clean The lock room area.

Coming in this morning at 4am The same two black gentleman are here. I checked the locker room area is very dirty again. So I gave you about an hour of me working out then i checked it again and it was still very dirty. So I decided to take pictures. This shows that the managers here do not check to make sure that the night crew is doing a job on the regular. It also shows that the staff do not care about they job at all. Plus is not even a hook for you to hang your towel 🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️

I remember when a guy named Jordan used to be here you can tell him the lock room area was dirty and he had clean it right away. The showers never had mole and The urinals never had dried up piss in front of me and it smelled great in there.

Been going to this location for awhile. Equipment is often broken, or missing (50lb barbell has been missing for months). Parking lot is absolutely disgusting. Trash everywhere. Lots of permanently parked cars with people living in them. Staff is nice.

The photos speak for it self, I'm a driver and been to dozens of PF. I am sorry to say this was the worst one in USA so far. One bathroom was out of order and the other one didn't have any toilet paper. I went back the next morning and everything was the same except for the can was removed and they finally stocked the TP. The gym itself was clean however and that's why it 2 starts and not one.

I recently relocated to Dallas from Houston and, as a black card member, decided to give this PF a try because, while it's not the closest location to my apt complex (that would be the one on Columbia Ave), it is in a nice area that I frequent a lot due to all the shopping centers close by.

But I'm kind of disappointed with this location. For some reason, this PF is lagging behind every other PF that I've been to in Texas (including the one I used in Arlington a few years back during a trip here for a sporting event). For one thing, this PF's equipment is different from any other PF I've been to. None of the assisted equipment have counters for reps or a timer that let's you know how long you've been "resting" in between reps. Sure, it's a minor inconvenience, but one I don't have to deal with at any other PF I've been to. Still, I could overlook this if not for my next issue--with some of the assisted equipment, I don't feel like I'm getting a good workout. To be fair, you'll probably never get as good a workout with "assisted" equipment as you do with "free weight". But this location's assisted equipment is far worse than the typical assisted equipment at other PFs.

For example, I like to use the assisted back extension machine where you sit and use your back muscles to push backwards against a bar behind you, then return to the start position--leaning forward. But for some reason the design at this PF does not allow for the full range of motion. Instead of being able to start from a "leaning forward" position, I can only start and return back to a 90-degree upright angle. And no, no amount of adjustments to the equipment will allow me to lean forward, basically rendering the exercise (and equipment) useless.

Then there is the assisted bench press machine. The poles on opposite ends (that do the assisting) are angled backwards
slightly too steep. And so, when I'm laying flat on my back, it feels like most of the push needs to come from the elbows--which I don't have to tell you, isn't the intended focal point of the exercise.

On top of that, I went to weigh myself in the men's locker room today and---surprise--there was no weight scale in there like there is at every other PF I've ever been to.

I don't think I'll be returning to this one. It's a shame too because as a recent Dallas transplant, this PF is in a near perfect location. I can get over the lack of counters on the assisted equipment and the lack of a weight scale in the locker room, but the weird functionality of the assisted equipment is too much of a deal breaker for me.

The small lockers are often locked and there will only be 10 people in the gym. There are frequently pieces of equipment in the 30 minute workout area that are broken. I tell the staff every time I am there and they say that they will have the equipment repaired. But it takes weeks and sometimes months for the equipment to be repaired.

The franchisee runs this location horribly. How is he going to justify 20 dollar day pass on a 10 dollar a month membership. Ridiculous. Dirty gym anyways. Employee at counter was nice about it but the franchisee is a moron. Could have easily got me to purchase a membership if he let me try the gym for one day.
