I've been on this weight loss journey for a couple months and believe me there's no better place to go than Planet Fitness. I do the thirty minute workout top it off with a hydro massage then I'm on my way can't beat it and they're everywhere.

The worst experience ever. I arrived around 345pm in hopes of transferring my home gym. The manager was unable to help. I literally had to step to the side and call my old gym for help. Please stop hiring women that pack on make up and dress up to work at the gym

I was nervous about joining a gym, but the staff at the Desoto, TX location immediately put me at ease. Staff member Brianna gave me a full orientation and walked me through all the equipment, answering my questions patiently and enthusiastically. Her positive energy made a huge impression on me and will definitely keep me motivated on my fitness journey. This gym truly lives up to its 'Judgement Free' promise, and the staff is the reason why.

In addition, as a Black Card member for the month I have been a member of Planet Fitness I see the staff's consistency and care and I am so impressed by how clean this gym is. The equipment is always spotless, and I see staff cleaning high-touch areas throughout the day. The 24/7 access is a game-changer for those who have a busy schedule who need flexibility, and I have noticed that even during peak hours, I can always find an available machine. For the price, you simply can't beat the variety and quality of this facility.

Very busy gym, and looks new on the outside but only one changing room stall located across from the 2 showers they provide and one disability shower. There was water dripping from the right side tiles in the ceiling when the water is turned on. Water pressure is not great and water doesn’t get very hot. Limited bathrooms, and sinks. I’d definitely go to a different location in the future as I had to wait over 10 minutes for the changing stall for someone who went in right before me and came out having not changed at all and then another 15 minutes after my shower because it was being used. Most locations I have been to have at least 3 changing stalls 3 showers 1 disabled shower and more than 3 bathroom stalls.

The gym itself is fine.

The bikes here though suck. They seriously need to be replaced and are actually infuriating. 4 of them are damaged and they all will immediately turn off and loose all progress data if you ever so stop peddling for 2 seconds. The second you stop the moment it erases all data. Would much rather travel to another location than have to deal with these machines again.

I absolutely love this location. Very spacious and is a great environment. I never feel insecure or looked at wrong in anyway. This review is for that but to also shine light on the front desk receptionist Uriel. He is very polite and great energy. Planet Fitness has been such a blessing to DeSoto. The staff welcomes you in, there's a variety of equipment and machines to utilize, and there's just an overall sense of community every time I visit. Seeing the amount of people working as hard as they do just motivates you to work even harder. Plus, I really appreciate the staff's continual efforts to make sure that there are paper towels and cleaning product to sanitize your area. Makes it easy and convenient to make sure the area you're working out in is clean, both before and after use. Planet Fitness is also free over the summer for High Schoolers, which has really helped me to create a healthy routine and keep my physical and mental health in a positive state. 5 stars.

Let me start by saying the staff is very friendly and kind here. It's the people that's using the equipment. There should not be any reason why we all can't use the equipment. People will literally hog the equipment for hours. Is there someone to monitor this. I have seen people stop and take breaks on their phones, they will simply just stand by them as if no one else would like to use them. It's not fair and everyone is paying their money to be able to have access to the equipment.

I’ve been coming to this gym for a while, but I feel compelled to raise a concern regarding the behavior of the gym manager — an older man who consistently displays extremely unprofessional conduct. He often looks at people, especially Latinos, with an unnecessarily harsh and intimidating expression. What’s even more disturbing is the way he stares at women during their workouts, with an inappropriate and unsettling gaze.

Today, I decided to file a formal complaint because his behavior was particularly unacceptable. He repeatedly passed by the area where I was training, giving me hostile looks and lingering without any clear purpose. If his job is to ensure the gym’s cleanliness and members’ well-being, then his actions should reflect that — not create discomfort. If he has an issue, he should address it directly instead of resorting to this kind of intimidating and harassing behavior. This kind of conduct has no place in a professional environment.

At the Planet Fitness facility in DeSoto, I appreciated that it had friendly and professional staff, plenty of available machines and weights to select from, the facility was clean, and there was sanitizer readily available for the workout machines. Everyone in the gym was focused on their own workouts, which created a comfortable atmosphere. The staff were friendly and professional, and I felt safe working out without being bothered. I will be returning for the excellent workout experience.

No Hot Water for 2 weeks is Ridiculous!
Plus the Showers are Terrible. The Shower Heads are Non-Functional half the time and the toilets are out of commission every other day. The only reason they keep this facility so run down is because it’s in a predominantly minority community. I bet their location in Frisco has Nice Showers and Hot Water. The men’s shower area hits you like a wall of mold spores. The vents are overflowing. The persistently broken shower head in the first stall pours cold water, feeding the mold. Why work out in a place that is destroying you from the inside out. No hot water or maybe I couldn’t be bothered to wait that long is such a disgusting place.

Edit: I will be back, so you better fix it or I’ll just start a running log of how long you allow your place to stay open with a serious mold problem for any future health issues your patrons may suffer.

This is an update from my past review of this location. Its nothing bad, my only concern is that the space is becoming to small and it is most of the time too crowded that you can't even exercise. Also the locker room is so small and very unsanitized

Either you move to a bigger facility in the area or something. As right now my go to is Planet fitness Cedar Hill Which is almost twice the space and the experience is quite relaxing.

If I could give a negative 0 I would. I went into the DeSoto location in August 2024 to cancel my membership because I moving to another state. I'm Sept I notice planet fitness still charging me. I called and spoke to customer service and they informed me they could not cancel I would have to speak to the manager there. I called, manager was not there and someone took a message and my contact information and assured me. The manager will cancel the membership. I said thank you. It's Feb 2025 & I'm reviewing my transactions and notice planet fitness is still charging me. I called customer service, now I'm supposed to once a again wait on a manager to call me to transfer to the state I'm in so I can go in that location to now cancel. This has got to the WORST SCAM I have ever signed up for smh. Wow if there's ever a class action lawsuit, I will join for all the months now I didn't even use their service but will not get a refund smh

This is a great gym with friendly staff who greet you both when you arrive and when you leave, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The facility is exceptionally clean, free of odors, and equipped with well-maintained, functional machines. The environment feels secure, with no loitering allowed, and they ensure that only members have access.

The management has clearly done an excellent job with the team, as everyone appears genuinely happy and committed to their roles. I often see staff members conducting personal training sessions, giving tours, and explaining membership options to prospective members.

My only wish is that it were a bit closer to me—while it’s only ten minutes away, I’d love to see a location in Red Oak!

This Desoto location is always on their A-game. I came from my home location and thought I could bring my back pack on the floor with me to work out like I normally do. The manager kindly asked me to lock it away in the locker room as it could be a potential safety hazard to me and others on the floor. They did indeed have sign's up displaying this and although I was upset in the moment they were only looking out for me and other gym goers. They constantly keep the gym clean, floors mopped and things up to date. I wouldn't mind recommending this location to others. I have now unofficially made this my home gym instead of my home gym because its closer to work for me. Thank you Desoto PF Team for always being helpful when I need equipment :)
