I have been a member here for a while now but this place is now unbearable. The restrooms are always dirty, machines are broken, paper towel dispensers empty. It’s also full of teenagers just hanging out in packs or on their phone holding up the machines. I understand you want to contribute and offer free memberships to these kids during the summer but it’s such an inconvenience for those who do pay a membership and just want to workout in peace. I come at night and the guy at the front desk disappears from time to time and his friends hang out at the front desk acting disruptive. So disappointing.

If I could give it less than one star I would, dude was super rude at the front awful at his job, can tell he was letting out his tiredness on the guest which id say is unprofessional especially in a gym setting. I already would rather go somewhere i can lift in peace and go to failure without being a "lunk" but i deal with it due to distance and I've never been treated the way I was, but apparently this one time I can't go in alone even though I've done it for months with no problem will never be returning to a Planet Fitness location as the 2 times ive tried going consistently have been awful experiences. Id highly recommend crunch fitness or chuze until they open a crunch closer. They have much better options and wont judge you for breathing through your workouts :)

I’ve been a PF member for many many years, I have long considered the PF black card to be one of the best values in the fitness industry - the cimmaron location is the most convenient one for me and it’s been disheartening to watch this location decline steadily, Luis.. we need you back in this location to turn things around- when time allows I go to other PF locations as none in the area have suffered the decline that this one has, for some reason management does little to repair machines that remain broken for months or longer . I give you the inoperative condition of at least 1/2 of the stairclimbers , bikes and rowers ..not to mention the typically empty paper towel dispensers, I feel for the poor kids who work there who are aware of the issues but are powerless to address these problems / there’s no evidence of any decision makers on site - the decline of this once sparkling facility is staggering-

The gym is new and looks good. However, a lot of the equipment is not functional for months and they simply don’t fix it. While there is still equipment to work on, in peek hours, one cannot find what to work on simply because 1/3 of the equipment is not functional. Many times even paper to clean is not there.

I'm so frustrated with this gym! The lack of staff and constant machine outages are infuriating. I'm only here for the StairMaster, but with only 4 out of 10 working, the wait time is ridiculous - up to 30 minutes or more! I've been a member for 2 years and it's always the same. With the recent price hike, I'm paying almost as much as local gyms that probably don't have half the equipment just for show. This gym, especially this location, is just not worth it anymore!

Seen 2 cars get hit by patrons and the perpetrators drove off. Tonight was my night. Hit and run but luckily no damage. Point being, I discovered they don't have cameras outside. This was just the straw for me. Equipment worn and rubber worn down on many machines and can take a while to get repaired, chronic equipment out of use (mainly treadmills), can be very crowded (not their fault). General gym music is spotty, at best. Many workouts have been without any music playing or only playing in a small section. Inquiring, I was only told that it goes in and out with no resolve. Just don't expect much outside of this. It's simply time for me to upgrade.

Cancelled my membership on 5/30 and was told by the employee that I would have access untill 6/30. I received an email confirmation and even on that email it stated my last day to use the club would be 6/30. Went in today 6/23 and was so embarrassed because I was turned away. I’ve been coming to this facility ever since it opened but NOW it’s not what it used to be. I moved from the old one to here taking advantage not only of the space but of the new equipment.
It’s very clear that they make money of people that don’t come! I get that but it’s so unfair to the ones that do. Every time I come something else has broken or is not functioning properly. Besides the fact that they are short staffed. No roller paper to clean the equipment? No one to attend the front desk. One poor guy trying to manage the whole thing. Low wages most likely that’s why nobody wants to work there.
It’s just sad because it’s an amazing location. It might be time to just move on and look for a better option.

I had a free membership through my health insurance. I upgraded to the Black Card for $10/month. I only went a couple of times, so I canceled my membership. I was charged an annual fee and called to get it refunded. It's apparently a maintenance fee for the facility, so I asked the assistant manager why I would pay a maintenance fee if I don't even have a membership. I asked for a refund as a one time courtesy and she said they don't give refunds. I asked for an 800 number and she said they don't have one, yet I found one online. I didn't even know I had to pay the annual fee with a free membership!! I asked for the manager and she said he only works on weekdays!! $53 is a lot of money for an annual fee and someone on disability at a gym where I don't even have a membership!! 😡 PF DO THE RIGHT THING!!

1. Las máquinas se dañan y se demoran demasiado en repararlas así sea una bobada como reponer un cogin, hace un par de meses que está fuera de servicio una de las máquinas de elevación de pelvis y hasta ahora no la han reparado
2. Esta es la segunda vez que los dispensadores de papel están sin papel y son casi todos y pues no me voy a ir a recorrer el gym buscando papel así que así como yo muchos dejamos las máquinas sin desinfectar.

Overall, the gym is in okay shape there’s some typically equipment that is broke and missing parts but typical for a highly used gym , the men’s showers are horrendous sadly, looks like it’s never been cleaned properly or even cleaned at all , out of all of the Planet Fitness’s this was probably the worst showers I’ve seen yet, BLACK MOLD in almost every single shower bay!

I like Planet Fitness brand because it has beginners’ gym equipment, as its slogan says “no judgement”, overall is a safe and nice place to work out. The whole place, both work out areas and restrooms, need to be cleaner, and the rules have to be stronger, since people do not clean the machines after using them.

On the other hand, I like this place in particular because it is comfortable and has many machines, although the weight area may need some space, particularly for women.

Avoid this gym until they fix these serious issues. This location is unsanitary—there is mold in the restrooms and showers and no soap. People use the toilet and return to workout without washing their hands because the dispensers don’t work. This is a health hazard.

Of all the Planet Fitness locations I’ve visited in El Paso and elsewhere, this one has had the worst customer service by far. The manager seems to let pride get in the way of being approachable and helpful, which creates a negative atmosphere. I am a black card member so I have full access to all their location world wide and this is great. Sure, some locations are better than others but overall 4 stars. Friendly staff everywhere. Top notch facilities in many locations. I highly recommend this club.

13 OCT 2024. I'm not sure what is going on but previous 24/7 Planet Fitness in El Paso, TX are no longer that; they now closes at 9pm on Friday and reopen Sat and Sun from 7am-7pm. Plus many location closes their spa way before closing time. Not good. I'm also very disappointed with the disrepair of their equipment in general. I'm down grading my rating from 4 to 3 stars, at best.

I’m loving it here! It’s clean, the staff are nice, and they have trainers onsite. Granted the trainer I have isn’t a personal/paid trainer just for me, he takes care of 3-4 other people on average. So going to find him after I’m done using a machine is something I just have to do. Which, if that’s my only gripe, it’s not bad. :)

I moved from Tru Fitness to here! Why?!?! Super simple yet complex at the same time! Eddie is the best personal trainer I’ve ever had. He trains my husband and I Every day. We go in and ask for specific results and he explained to us why the exercise targets exactly what we’re wanting. Extremely friendly, very patient my husband wasn’t a believer of trainers and now he only wants to work out with Eddie. I could honestly say that the only reason I drive out of my way to go to this gym because I have two other planet fitness is close to my house is because of Eddie. I take an extra 15 minutes to go out of my way just to make sure that my workout is completed correctly with him. This gym would be nothing without Eddie!

I really loved coming to this gym before the staff changed a while back. I hesitated on reviewing this location because I didn't mind until recently these few weeks coming.

If you don't mind being around staff that is constantly judging the members coming in and out, then this is your gym. The manager allows the "staff", including him, to eat in the front where you check in. Which to me seems a bit disrespectful for the members idk. Then you have 2 staff girls that constantly have problems with you even asking a question, which they roll their eyes and Laugh. Not helpful to anyone, God forbid you ask for help on a machine. Just all around seems very uncomfortable being in there..
On a good note there is ONE guy that seems to be the ONLY guy ALWAYS working. He is always cleaning and saying hello to passersby....

So I got my gym membership canceled because one of their employees was bullying me so I confronted this person and told this person to stop. If not I was going to call the police and they canceled my membership just for that and then this person told the manager. A whole different story that apparently I had threatened the employee. Yes, I told the employee to leave me alone or do I need to call the police? How is that a threat stay away from this gym instead of the manager calling me to hear both sides of the story they just chose to cancel my membership, it’s OK. They were vacuuming last time and today they were cleaning the machines with some harsh aerosols RIGHT BY THE TREADMILLS....like where everyone is breathing a lot.

The gym is good but the customer service is garbage. I canceled and they continue charging never got an email confirmation but I filled out the paperwork in person so I thought it was taken care off there is no integrity in the staff so learn my lesson don’t trust the staff. I used to come here alot but now everytime i come once and a while, the water is never working. So be ready to bring ur own waters to last. Also side note, when i came on 11/26 the guy working at 6pm with curly hair and glasses with crocs, was talking to his girlfriend by the free weights. She was sitting on the floor while he was crouched next to her just talking for a while but rubbing her leg and getting uncomfortably close for everyone. Even kissed. If youre in uniform there has to be a level of professionalism, not flirting by the weights in front of everyone rubbing her leg. Super uncomfortable! And shes just lingering on the counter by the check in area with him.

Contrary to popular belief, it's a really good gym. It doesn't have a free weight bench or squat contraption, but it does have Smith machines. Dumbells go from 10lb to 70lb, and some machines don't go that high for you more advanced lifters. Plus you cannot go shirtless, so there is somewhat of a dress code. HOWEVER it is an AMAZING place for beginners. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend for beginners to intermediate lifters, but once you start getting bigger it may benifit you to go somewhere else but I digress. Amazing for beginners and $10 a month plus deals often are an absolute bargain.

If you plan on lifting free weights be prepared to wait. This is not a new problem to this gym, and I wish I would have read the past reviews before joining. Crowd meter shows it's not busy, but it must be referring to the cardio machines which take 3/4 of the floor. The small free weight area is always busy. It should really be twice the size and add another rack or two of dumbells. The dumbells only go to 75lbs and most of the midweight dumbells are not on the dumbell rack. People will take the dumbells out of the area for extended periods or they will grab several different weights of dumbells at a time.

I feel the facility could be and do better. on average you always have about 5 machines that are not in conditions to be used for X or Y reason.

The people can sometimes be pretty unfair with the use of machines by placing belongings literally everywhere so Nobody uses the equipment. Wich is ridiculous because no way you gonna use multiple equipment at the same time. Sometimes you stand for minutes for a machine then next thing you know that person calls someone to take it.

The woman restrooms ... Two doors don't work, and around noon, 7-9 gets nasty. Water fountains are always broken ....

I think the planet fitness experience used to be a lot better before they started offering free membership to kids during the summer as this only adds up to the problems mentioned before. Teenagers leave weights on the floor and irresponsibly use the machines or play around making other paid members such as me and my husband feel uncomfortable. We love to workout and love the judge free zone slogan but..... There's obviously some things that need to be changed.

As someone who travels around the country and uses planet fitness in all different locations , when I pulled up to this one i thought this is going to be an awesome experience. Looks like a brand new HUGE facility which it is. And then you go into the locker rooms for a shower and all your disappointment rises to the surface as in pretty much every other planet fitness. Massive gym and you put in 4 showers and ONE changing room ?? Has the person who designed this building actually every been to a gym or did they just sit behind a desk somewhere and thought that was an excellent idea. It’s a good thing you don’t have any real competition for franchise gyms with multiple locations across the country because convenience is the only thing you have going for you.

16 MACHINES ARE NOT WORKING!!!!
As of today, June 21, 2023, I counted about 16 machines that are out of order. These include the hip adduction machines, treadmills (5 are out of order), leg extension machine, glute kickback machine, bicycles (3 are out of order), rear delt machine, etc.
For the past 6 MONTHS I have notified 2 managers and several staff members that these machines are not working. The staff has not placed any "out of order" signs on most of the machines. Only 3 machines have "out of order" signs.
Today, I spoke to Phillip, he's a manager at this location. He told me "we only have ONE maintenance guy and he comes ONCE every few months. He came a month ago so he'll be here in about 3 months".
It's unacceptable that the owner of this franchise won't hire someone to properly repair the machines or replace the machines. It's been 6 MONTHS and the machines have not been repaired.
Gym users pay the membership fee to enjoy the available services. They expect the gym equipment to be in good shape. Obviously, they won’t like broken or worn down equipment.
Members can also sue the gym for faulty equipment if they suffer an injury, specially since you don't have "out of order" signs on most machines.
I'll be taking video and taking pictures of the machines and emailing them to the general manager.

Its very decent compared to other locations. Staff is chill and relaxed. I have been going to this gym since it was built and can’t complain much. Just watch out for those men who give you unsolicited opinions. The busiest I’ve seen it is on Mondays around six to seven p.m.. Around 1 AM to 3 AM is when it’s the emptiest. And for anyone reading this, that is just starting their fitness journey, you can do this, you’ll thank yourself five years from now.

I am kicked out for this very rude lady from planet fitness west towne El Paso, Texas.
I am paying the blackcard membership to my 17 years old son I he has me as I guest. I normally work out of city, so I go thereonly weekends.
Today my son was not with me because an exam and this lady even did not gave the opportunity to finish my routine. Such a behavior sucks. I understood he was not there and asked permission on it. Never granted first time in years.
So 2 stars maximum.

Location and facilities are great, BUT, if you enjoy drinking water at the gym this isn’t the place. No water sold (it’s sold out usually) and only bathroom sinks work.

Changed to 5 stars which should have happened much sooner. All was fixed and since I’ve had many great workouts here, and the staff is very awesome, I’ll get a name or two of the superstars and name them here asap.

TERRIBLE facility to start with. Several of the machines didn’t work but had no signs of them being out of order.

If you try to cancel your membership they tell you that you have to physically go into the facility and sign a paper or you can mail a letter.

Seriously, MAIL!? We are in 2023!

Clearly they are preying on the people that just let their card be billed each month to avoid the hassle of canceling.

Cannot pay annually without a promotion going on. Talked to two staff at this location and one at another, all of them told me no.

My work will reimburse me if I can pay for the year, but I'm surprised that Planet Fitness doesn't want my money for an entire year, paid upfront.

Great looking gym but the crowd meter is not accurate. Very busy so it takes a bit to get your work out in. Definitely one of the nicest locations I've been to. Fix the crowd meter accuracy though.
