The staff is great, very friendly and hospitable the only reason this planet fitness does not get a 1 star.I Have been a planet fitness member for over a decade and have used many of their gyms around the country. The broken equipment and blown lights have been a constant at this facility and takes months, some times year to fix or replace. Not making that up, missing a front door handle for almost a year. They continue to charge you full price even though due to poor maintenance and or greed they can not provide the services planet fitness brags about in their commercials. This place needs some serious corporate oversight because whoever is running this gym is currently the running the worse planet fitness I have ever been in

Es un excelente gimnasio, lo genial de aqui es que cada cierto tiempo actualizan sus maquinas.

Both water fountains are down. This gym isn’t 24 hours (change your hours shown). Multiple equipment machines have been down for over 2-3 weeks. Not surprised from a north east location. Take notes from management at far east or west side locations.

I went in with a free pass to check it out and it wasn't a bad experience. All in all this gym is not bad for those looking to get more active for a low price. Some of the equipment was down and some were broken. Not sure how long it has been down. One of the water fountains was broken and the other had the worst water. There is water for sale but it's not cheap. If you are a black card member they have massage tables and a few massage chairs available. I did not see any tan booths so I am not sure if they discontinued that service or not. 3 stars for the water situation. Water is not something to make a profit on.

It’s a good gym for the membership price. I can directly compare it to the Crunch gym in Dyer since I used to go there.

This planet fitness is much less crowded. Rarely do I ever have to wait for a machine.

The staff is nice, as was the staff at Crunch. Greetings and goodbyes upon entering and exiting. They do a great job at filling the paper so we can wipe down our machines.

A big plus is how seldom the equipment is broken. Felt like there was always 3-4 machines broken down when I went to Crunch, which didn’t help the large crowds. At most I’ll see 1-2 machines down (often 0). Management does a great job at getting them up and running.

The only improvement I would like to see is their hydro lounge machines and massage chairs. They definitely have been overused. The beds in particular don’t provide a consistent massage. In addition, you have to get lucky with which massage chair they put you on. Some are in better shape than others. That being said the staff is able to put you on a chair right away without any wait time.

Great location with awesome staff. Gym is never uncomfy to be in, even during peak hours.

Adding to this now that I have time: I've been going to this gym for over two years now (consistently).

The atmosphere is welcoming for people of most all fitness levels. This location is excellent for a one-gym-fits-most solution, which should serve anyone looking to improve their general fitness. There are people of all body types and shapes that come in, so there's no feeling of exclusion.

Literally everyday something is down. Water fountains, leg press, calf extension, leg curls, treadmills and random stuff!

Today you guys just caught me in a bad mood didn’t bring my headphones so I’m in a shitty mood already!

Idk if a pipe busted but some areas are off limits with water on the floor went to add weight on a machine and when I sat down that shit was busted and I know for a fact ima end my workout sesh with a massage chair visit and it’s gonna be half ass cause it’s broke #1 doesn’t work #2 is just ass and #9 is weird the leg portion doesn’t fully go up and the gears grind

I've been coming here for many years. I'm talking like I'm a very dedicated gym goer. I am there at least 4 to 5 times a week every week. I have seen this place before the remodel and the employees in and out of this place with that being said. The cleaning lady is awesome. She's very nice and I'd like to acknowledge her. This is my favorite gym. The issues I have reported in the past have been fixed, so hopefully, they will stay on top of maintenance and fixing the equipment in a timely manner now.

I’ve been coming to this site for over a year. Staff is ALWAYS on cell phones , no greatings and paper seams to be a supply issue for cleaning equipment . Also just say 2 employees throw trash bags over the dumpster and shrugged and walked back in. I have also tried to use the black card members area to use machines but after reserving it takes 5-10 min for the staff to turn on the machines for use . Owner what is happening with your staff?

Update: noticed a lot of changes with staff and people cleaning and stocking the area. Also staff is less in the phone and more attentive to people. Definitely improvement overall!

Worse service ever asked for manager and the manager didn’t know how to proceed, she was very ignorant stated I don’t even know what’s going on. Yet claimed to be the manager lack of communication between her and the employee who just diverted by referring me to the app. I’ve been waiting three days for a call nothing. I have sent an email called yet they wrote for me to email proof how horrible they are. I’ve called numerous times, not just to the location but to the 1800 number they sent an email, I emailed. This happened on Monday still no response, I will be canceling and going to chuze.

I had been a Black Card member of this club for several years but I cancelled my membership due to one of their managers non chalant attitude towards their own screw up.Back in September of last year,I downgraded from the Black Card membership to a Classic membership fully expecting the monthly fee to decrease.While the phone app showed me to have a classic membership,I was still being charged for the Black Card membership and apparently none of their bookkeepers noticed.As an Over the Road Driver,I am gone quite a bit and had not been able to go by there due to limited time off.I stopped by yesterday and spoke to Enrique who assured me I could expect a phone call from a "Manager".As of this afternoon I had gotten nothing but radio silence which did nothing to alleviate the situation.I stopped by today,waited for a Manager to return from lunch and then had to go through a lengthy explanation of my problem.His explanation was that a lot of people get "stuck in the queue when they decide to downgrade,meaning it is a frequent problem that these memberships are plagued with. They don't seem to care and then try to blame and shame the member for not noticing earlier.I am posting this as a warning to others to monitor their monthly bank statements as Planet Fitness does NOT!
Over 2 weeks later and not only am I still waiting for my refund but my account was just hit for the annual fee.What is going on with these people???

I have been a member here for almost a year, and I have yet to see the men's restroom clean and functioning. The hot water is never working properly, and the restroom always smells of sewage.

The early morning staff is never behind the counter they are usually hiding in the bathroom or bull-S****** with a customer in the back. This makes it difficult to purchase drinks, request pads, or request massage chairs or beds.

The equipment is worn and barely functional sometimes even unsafe to use IE: the cable machines have worn frayed cables, the abductor and adductor machines locking pins slip, and the treadmills all make horrible grinding sounds.

Management really needs to step in and correct these issues, we the customers pay a hefty fee and should not be subject to this kind of environment.

Regarding the Planet Fitness located at 10861 Gateway N Blvd in El Paso, can someone from the management team fix the door that has been broken at the front entrance since before Christmas? I know they have recently had what appeared to be their management team coming in to help them out and the fact that the front door has been broken since before Christmas is ridiculous. This causes issues as it only enables one accessible door to be opened from the outside while congesting members who are both trying to enter and exit at the same time.

Place needs work, mens bathroom, tile cracked, hole on back of it. Benches to lift weights badly cracked, one bench dosent even go up. Pretty sad, it use to be well kept. They told me to talk to manager, that realy dosent help.
Employee always on the phone, not doing there job. I stay two hrs, my work out.
I go four days a week.
And go to other planet fitness the other 3-days with friends. The other plant fitness are different, they tell you good morrning, good afternoon, have a goodnight.
This one has changed alot. I go to work out, good machines. Help you lose weight. Jog.

The gym was one of the busiest I have seen and the machines I used worked well and the place was clean. I really liked the parking lot and trees and landscaping around the place. It had bigger tv screens than most and the spa area was more separate than some with its own music and lounge area for decompressing. They also had a nice schedule for orienting people to proper use of equipment and workouts.

On the downside, there was no signage warning me there was no hot water so I stood in the shower freezing waiting for the hot water about 10 minutes wasting water. I did not like the placement of the dressing rooms and there was no hooks or even a chair to set things on or drape clothes muck less sit on. Also no water in one of the sinks and there were no water bottle fillers with the water fountains.

SOLDIERS BEWARE. I deployed in 2022 and brought my orders to this location to have my membership cancelled. Almost a year later and living in a new location I realized I was still being charged. I called to complain and was denied cancellation unless I visited in person or mailed a letter. I was given a managers phone number and after a decent discussion of the situation with him I was assured by him my membership had been cancelled and he was sorry for the inconvenience. It is now 2024, while searching through my bank statements today I see I am still being charged. The front desk all the way up to management has failed to resolve this issue on multiple occasions costing me hundreds of dollars. I DO NOT recommend this location to military members. Save yourself the time and money and workout elsewhere.

Was better before they remodeled. Now people at the front desk are always on their phones, men’s bathroom always smells terrible and one of the urinals is always broken. On top of this, the gym equipment takes forever to be repaired. One of the pictures shows a cable that’s been broken for months. I came in today to find another broken. After this, I decided to update my review. Thankful for the new equipment but come on. Why can’t they fix the equipment that’s been broken for months? So sad. It was way better before. Whoever provides the reply, please don’t contact me. That is pointless. Contact whoever needs to fix this at the center.

Some of the equipment is faulty and is hard to adjust. Employees seem like they really do NOT want to be here, but o kind of get that. What really bothered me is how absolutely unclean the bathrooms are. The toilet seats are all off to one side. Literally all of them. And there is toilet paper ALL over the floor. I don’t think the counter tops have been cleaned even once this week. One of the sinks and one of the hand dryers do not work. I was kind of shocked actually to find that there was soap in the dispenser. And there’s no toilet seat covers. People are sweaty and gross using those bathrooms, seat covers should be a must.

This is my home gym, i’ve always loved going here till recently. The same equipment for months broken. I addressed an issue to the receptionist(front desk girl) she was being kinda rude and brushing my issue off. I was trying to be nice because i’m glad they’re getting newer equipment that all the gyms need. Since I walked in, Her and the staff did not greet, they just looked at me and gossiped(or it seemed like it), after me walking in with a argument I had with my husband so i was trying to go to the gym. Then the stare stepper machine stopped in the middle of my workout, without my hand being near the stop button. Let’s see what else, the bathroom sink still doesn’t work so you have to use the other one. Just other equipment out of service or handle bars withered. Keep up with your gym, don’t just mask issues by getting new equipment, and don’t hire entitled people that have no customer service manners. I didn’t take a lot of pictures because I didn’t want to disturb the members working out but there’s a lot of issues.

El me ha ayudado a superar todas mis expectativas sobre el gimnasio. Aron es muy dinámico, siempre busca la manera de retarte con ejercicios diferentes o mayor peso. El ha logrado crear una comunidad lo que nos da ganas de regresar al otro dia. De igual forma, tengo que mencionar que todo el personal son excelentes sobre todo por su amabilidad. El gimnasio esta muy limpio y hay un excelente ambiente. Si estas pensándolo mucho, solamente ven y visítanos y te vas a dar cuenta que es un buen lugar.

I am not a person who gives many reviews but this place deserves it. About three months ago I decided to start at a big gym after a long time training in a small place. I had many fears but it has been the best decision. The first person I met at the gym was Aron, and and from day one was willing to help me. Aron is the trainer and he has helped me exceed all my expectations about the gym. Aron is very dynamic, he always looks for a way to challenge you with different exercises or heavier weights. He has created a community which makes me to come back the next day. Also, I have to mention that all the staff are excellent. The gym is very clean and there is a great environment. If you are thinking join the gym, just come and visit us and you will realize that it is a good place.

I started working with Aaron (the Personal Trainer at this location) about three months ago, and it has completely transformed my experience at the gym. Before Aaron, I felt lost and overwhelmed. I had been to the gym in the past but didn’t really know what to do, which led me to give up pretty quickly. However, Aaron’s approach made all the difference.

From the beginning, he was incredibly understanding of my limitations and worked with me to create a routine that felt empowering rather than overwhelming. He explained everything thoroughly and made sure I felt confident with the exercises and machines. Thanks to him, I’ve gone from working out 2-3 times a week to almost every day, and I actually enjoy it!

Since working with Aaron, I’ve seen major improvements in my strength, flexibility, and overall energy. The pain I had in my back and other areas has reduced significantly, and I feel much more confident in my body. I’ve worked with other trainers in the past, but Aaron stands out because he truly takes the time to understand my needs and helps me create a plan that works for me.

I’m excited to continue working with Aaron and reach new fitness goals. If you’re looking for a personal trainer who is knowledgeable, patient, and motivating, I highly recommend him!

I’m extremely satisfied with the facility located in North Hills. I started my membership at a different location nearest to work but I definitely prefer to drive the distance to North Hills location due to the friendlier staff and more equipment options. I have recently gone through a weight loss journey and I was unsure about which machines to use to help tone my problem areas. Aaron was very helpful in assisting me with various exercises and took the time to show me and guide me through each one as he was still assisting other members which I was really impressed with. I will definitely continue to come to this location over any other location. I truly appreciate Chris for his willingness to assist me as well. He was very professional and friendly. Visiting family in El Paso Texas, using the black card we were able to get a workout in. This establishment differed from ours in Tucson as far as setup. I would imagine they all have a different layout depending on the size of the building. I don't know how old this establishment is, but was very disappointed in the fact that half of their cleaning stations were empty. The young lady at the counter looked not interested in doing anything. All the machines that maybe one worked as we needed them to. I would use this facility again.

I had an altercation with a girl who had no awareness of personal space. She was inches from bumping into me multiple times as I was re-racking my weights. As I told her " Excuse me, I don't want to hit you." She clearly had an underdeveloped brain, because she acted like I was the problem. Long story short, I spoke with Manny, who works at PF, and he kept calm and handled the girl who was causing unnecessary issues. I was not the only person who made a complaint on the SAME day about this girl. Overall Manny was very professional and I'm glad that there is no tolerance for goofy people at this location.

Some things to mention for my overall experience, is wishing y'all had soft plyo stackable boxes in the gym. They are versatile in use for many workouts. The benches you do have are too high for certain workouts and although you do have a different set of them that are lower, there is not enough of them.

The restrooms are messy, but I don't necessarily blame the cleaning crew, more so the people using them. For example, I have seen people shaking they're hands all over the place after washing their hands like an animal making everything wet. People just need to do better. Be hygienic, I've also seen people not wash their hands after using the restroom. Disgusting. But I have seen the employees cleaning the weights and mirrors in the workout area which definitely helps my mind on that situation.

Gym is dirty, most people there occupying the machines are playing with their phones or just sitting there. Can’t use the machines. Not a good gym.

Trying out different locations in town and this one is such a gem. Stunning location and so nice and spacious inside. Many locations feel so crowded and bunched together but this one may have the best lay out in town!

I come here late at night and no paper towels at all and the place it’s a mess. During the day it’s fine but evenings and specially nights are dirty! And then I leave today and the only worker here is outside chatting with his friends.This happened on August 1st 2024

The facility is lively and lovely but the stealth change in hours was not needed. It was a 7 days a week 24 hour gym and now suddenly it's only 4 days a week.

There's No hot water and cold showers are torture why don't they fix it There was literally only 3 people there when I went to go take a shower how could they be out of hot water if they have only 3 people in the whole gym

Gym is fine and cardio can get crowd during peak.
But, now suddenly gym staff want to play the gym music super loud now. I wear headphones with noise cancelling, but I can still hear it. I wear my headphones to not bother others but vice versa. However, gym staff themselves don't care about their music it seems. Just ruins a workout.

Do not sign up for this membership if you are in the military. They do not allow you to cancel over the phone if you PCS. They will make you send a certified letter with all your information in order to cancel. They charged me for 8 after I left El Paso, had to send a letter twice before they “received” my letter. Horrible business practice, and probably set-up to scam service members.

The only thing you see more often than the equipment is temporarily down sign are the one asking you to “upgrade” your membership. Today 5 of the 8 stair mills were down (4 have been down the better part of 6 months). 2 of 3 seated row machines down several weeks, at least 6 stationary bikes down, etc. and the list goes on. I wonder if an upgrade gets you equipment that actually works. I’m already a black card so is there like a super duper card?

When I go to planet fitness, I go to my happy place. I really love it. I usually go late at night because I am able to use all the equipment without being interrupted. Nobody bothers you or judge you. You go and do your thing and also you can find new friends that share your same interests.

Its a nice place however they take so long to clean the restrooms, usually close them down from 30 minutes to an hour which can be extremely annoying when you really gotta go. I understand they need to be cleaned but there's gotta be a more efficient way to go about it
