This place has gone down hill since planet fitness took over. Equipment is not maintained. They must be running out of "out of order signs". Machines stay broken for months. The roof leaks every time it rains. The toilets are frequently broken. I can't believe I pay to go here. Even the clock on the wall is broken and has been for weeks.
Would not recommend, management and corporate clearly don't care about quality or even member safety.

This is not your typical PF gym since they bought from another gym owner. I like it but the layout is weird to me. They have a lot of full body workout equipment which is different than others like this one. Yes in the Dallas area, PF buys other gyms and holds onto their equipment. This location has respectful people and staff which goes a long way with me

Looked like they had great equipment, and a nice variety. Staff is not helpful however I just wanted a but of information and i walked up to the desk. Just awkwardly standing there while Kid sitting back in a chair behind the desk was eating a cheese stick. So i asked the guy behind the desk that clearly just got off work and was getting ready to work out. because the kid was more concerned about a cheese stick than addressing a customer. The equipment looked fairly new and decently kept. But based on the staff it makes me question if it will stay that way.

I am happy I joined this gym. I've been training with Dante T. for a couple of months now, and the experience has been excellent. He is incredibly knowledgeable, motivating, kind, funny, and genuinely invested in helping me reach my fitness goals. Every session is challenging and tailored to my needs. He takes into consideration any exercises or muscles I want to focus on or try. He makes sure I have the proper form and technique and also answers all my silly questions. He brings great energy and positivity, which makes working out something I actually look forward to! I highly recommend him!! 5/5

Updated to 3 stars, the mirror got fixed and it’s a little cleaner. Still not too happy with the level of maintenance, half the cable machines are either broken or have friction at random points making them all but unusable, especially the one with the moveable arms.
Edit 1May2025
Wanted to add after reading other reviews to see if I’m just being picky (I’m not). The planet fitness owner that is replying to reviews telling people to talk to management, you’re the owner how about you talk to your employees?
This gym is slowly deteriorating. Since the switch to Planet fitness, the gym just doesn’t get cleaned anymore. I’ve seen the same dust pile in the corners and under equipment for weeks now. The turf area hasn’t been vacuumed or cleaned for an unknown period of time, but when youre down on the turf stretching, HIIT, what have, you it smells and is covered in hair and dust.
The equipment is slowly breaking down and not getting repaired. Some mirrors are cracked and havnt been replaced for months. Many of the cable machines don’t move smoothly, they catch at random spots, no repairs. Etc etc.
Thankfully I don’t use the showers here cause I can’t imagine how dirty they are.

My only gripes with this gym is their opening hours on the weekends, 7 on Saturdays and 8 on Sundays, the placement of some of their gym equipment and the lack of some leg machines (ham curls, adductor/abductor).
I’m currently sitting outside the gym on a Saturday at 7:10 and the doors aren’t open… Bit frustrating.
We ended up leaving for a different Texas family at 7:20.

I just wanna start of with how amazing this gym is. It’s got everything you need and is always doing a great job. I also wanted to say thank you to Hannah and Zach for the amazing customer service they provide because when I needed their help, they were there and they are just such amazing people to interact with. With that being said, amazing gym and people/workers.

They don’t even provide a weighing scale . You are forced to hire a personal trainer to check your weight scale. I have never seen a gym without weighing scale.
Recently they are limiting on many amenities for black card members and forcing for PT. help desk don’t care what ever you ask.
I stopped coming here, too much waiting.

I love this gym! If you are into strength training with barbells, this is the gym for you. Tons of squat racks, deadlift platforms and benches. I never have to wait to use them. Gym is open 24/7 most days of the week. As someone who just moved to the area from out of state, I am so thankful I’ve found this gym and think it’s a “hidden gem” for folks that train with barbells. I look forward to continuing to be a member for many years to come!

We’ve been working out at Planet Fitness since the summer, and our personal trainer, Dante, has been absolutely amazing. He always brings such a positive attitude. What really stands out is how he takes the time to understand our individual goals and tailors each session to help us improve. You can tell he truly cares about helping his clients succeed. We’re so grateful for his expertise — highly recommend training with Dante!

What the hell? Bathroom looks like a war zone. 1 functioning toilet for a 2 story giant gym? No toilet paper in the men’s room? If your trainers have time to repair machines, maybe they can go restock toilet paper in the bathroom real quick?

I joined the club because I'm trying to get into shape to start mountain biking again. One of the main features I was interested in was a stationary bike with coaching videos built in. There is only one that I am aware of. It will not connect to the internet, and it will not detect the pedals. Two items that can be easily fixed by entering a Wi-Fi password and batteries. I keep telling the front desk staff. I was told today that their boss told them that I can just use it as is.
How do you suppose I reach out to management. I've tried at the club with no response, and there is no contact information posted anywhere.
Why should I have to contact management? It's simple, fix the machine. You're just posting a generic response to make it look like you care.

Member since the TFF days. Planet Fitness bought them out and it’s been downhill since. Out of order machines & equipment that seem to stay that way for eternity. Much like the out of order machines, there is also a large fan over the squat rack area that hasn’t worked in months. When asking the staff about its repair they say that the manager is working on scheduling its fix. Mind you it’s summer and hot. Fast forward 3 months later it’s still not working. I ask the manager about it and he straight up lies and says “oh yeah, it’s working”. I then ask to see him turn it on for proof and he stutters while saying “uhh let me check the breakers”. This manager conversation took place on Thursday, 9-18-25
Really? Is this just the new normal since the ownership change? Broken machines, equipment, & cooling fans. Lying managers?
Fix these issues PF!!!
Edit: Let me guess….PF(owner) will reply and apologize and then send a phone number to speak with the manager. Just like they do on every other post. The very same manager who lied to me. Really sad how far this once great gym has fallen.

I had a terrible experience at this Planet Fitness location. I was about to grab the weights when a trainer—about 6 ft tall—rudely interrupted me, saying he was using them right then. He didn't even apologize or show any remorse, which made the whole interaction feel dismissive and offensive. Just because he's a trainer doesn't give him the right to treat members like that! This kind of rudeness has no place in a gym that's supposed to be judgment-free. Management, please treat customers who doesn't take personal training as humans first—I expect better treatment as a paying member.

Never sign up for their personal training program. It’s a complete waste of money. I signed up for 4 sessions and received only 3, they swapped my 4th session with diet session which was not disclosed before and they only push you to buy their products. There was no training plan provided, they will only show you 3-4 random workouts per session and nothing much.

Pros:
⭐️Tons of selection of everything!
⭐️A 50yd artificial turf area for floor work, stretching, kettlebells, farmers walks, etc.
⭐️A separate cardio area upstairs (old Lifetime Fitbess layout)—but still a couple rowing and air bikes for warm up/warm-down on the floor
⭐️2+ separate barbell areas!
👉Some equipment was wearing out a couple months ago—e.g. grips and padding—but then I noticed a little room by the lockers with multiple workers, an industrial strength sewing machine, and other consumables used for what appears to be repairing such things. Awesome that they’ve got some in-house capabilities to repair!👍👌👏
📝Note: the apparent Lifetime Fitness legacy equipment means—for now—it has some things that aren’t typical to other Planet Fitness gyms.
Cons:
➖Paper towel dispensers run out on busy Saturday afternoons
🤔The odd cable machine superstructure in the middle of the main floor means you’ve got to be very mindful of others during busy times, as it’s high traffic and lots of back-to-back usage

The gym management keeps pushing for personal training sessions, and when I explained that I wouldn’t be able to utilize them and requested a refund, they simply extended the deadline instead of providing a refund.
That said, the manager himself is very sweet and genuinely helpful, which I really appreciate.
However, a few of the staff members come across as rude at times, which brings down the overall experience.

This is the best Planet Fitness there is. I usually just hold my planet fitness membership for when I travel for work. Always one around I can get into. Rarely go when I’m back home. But this one is home gym material. It’s large, there’s more machines than any PF I’ve ever been to. Free weight racks. Lots of cardio equipment and area for mobility training. Heavier weights than PG usually has. Very nice gym. Will 100% be back.

Insanely nice gym for a Planet Fitness; it’s criminal that it costs only $10 a month to get access to this place. Unfortunately, as a result of the low prices, the place is overwhelmed at all hours of the day with packs of inconsiderate high school kids who make the experience insufferable. There is a bit of a strange unevenness in the equipment, e.g. very few cable machines and twice as many full power cages as adjustable benches, which makes some exercises difficult to do without a wait, but if you do exclusively barbell work, you never have to worry about this. This isn’t really a problem the location can solve without introducing a higher tier of Planet Fitness membership, so while I feel bad about the poor rating for such a great facility which cannot be beat in price to quality of equipment, it still sadly reflects the experience of attending this gym. Would be worth paying substantially more for the kind of quality I heard they offered when the location was under Texas Family Fitness.

First visit on Sunday July 13th 2025. First impression. Not friendly. 2 young employees that I’m pretty are employee so they can workout free.
Elevator out. No sign. My husband has disability and had no access to the machines upstairs.
When he asked he was told “they’re not working.” When I approached the counter to discuss the issues the attitude was arrogant and nonchalant. I was told “well it goes down”. As a black card member who goes to many facilites I can tell you it may be shiny and new but it’s definitely not the best.
If you want a great experience go to the location in Frisco on Preston. Friendly and welcoming staff. Always clean.

DO NOT GO TO THIS GYM!
Many things to mention, so I will bullet point:
Local middle and high schools students are allowed to work out for the summer for free with no training or etiquette tutorials. They run in the gym, spend all day on their phone, they stink, they try to lift too much weight, walk around on their phone without looking up, work out right in front of the dumbbell rack, they occupy four things at once, they walk between people lifting, etc. Someone will get hurt there soon. Whoever had this idea needs to be fired.
Teenage boys pose in the bathroom, recording on their phones, which is illegal.
During peak times, you'll wait for literally 90% of machines.
I've been bumped into mid lift twice in the past six months, and had to stop mid lift many times to avoid hitting someone with the weight since they walked too close. Even some of the new staff have been guilty of this.
I've had to stop in the middle of my set to move for someone.
Toilets overflow in the men's room constantly.
I've had to ask at least 10 times for someone to move away from my bench so I can work out.
Machines take months to be repaired.
Dirt everywhere.
Gym etiquette is non-existent.
Staff (with a few exceptions) acts like they'd rather be anywhere else.
People are allowed to record in the gym.
People hang towels or put their phone on equipment to reserve it, and then do the same with three other pieces of equipment to be able to "circuit" while others are waiting to use them.
I have shown up at 9am to work out before and nobody came in to open the gym so it was closed with about 20 cars in the lot.
The manager talks down to his staff and is generally rude in my experience. I asked for a keycard and was told to just "download the app". I said I am not doing that and every time I go there to work out, some pissed off teenager has to input my phone number since they will not give me a keycard.
The gym bag crusade is curious, their philosophy is that it creates tripping hazards. What about all the weight nobody puts back? Dumbbells all over the floor? As others have mentioned, I have a lifting belt, dip belt, straps, knee wraps etc. that I need to use and I am not going to the locker room between every set. I locked my bag up one time and came back to an open locker. My wallet, keys and all items mentioned above were in it.
It was only a matter of time before it went completely downhill, since the worst gym to ever exist took over. They automatically signed everyone who was a TFF member over to PF and began billing them without telling anyone. They are actively alienating their existing members in favor of new people who have no idea what they are doing in the gym. I guess with the low membership and no commitment, the overall quality of members goes down.

WARNING; they are now telling people they cannot have gym bags on the floor. This is a huge issue for those who use the gym for social media content or carry expensive equipment. The employee also stated they will also be requiring members to be off of their phone while on the floor. This is a wild over reach.
I do not recommend this gym, and will be terminating the membership once a new gym has been found. I hope that whoever is implementing these rules understands that this will cause a mass cancelation/ loss of memberships as a whole.

I’ve been a member since this location was TFF, and the quality has gone downhill since it became a Planet Fitness. The gym looks and feels dirty. Floors, equipment, and common areas are often unclean. Machines are regularly out of order for weeks, and some are downright unsafe to use. On top of that, there aren’t enough functional machines to accommodate the number of members, especially during peak hours. It’s disappointing to see a once well-maintained gym decline like this.

Planet fitness has let greed ruin this gym. They bought it out, and are allowing everyone in the world join so it’s absolutely SLAMMED at any time of day. They have a cute “crowd meter” on their app that is completely useless, they’ll have just two bars out of 10 and the parking lot is completely full. Teenagers run this gym now, just in crowds, dropping weights and laughing about it and then just leaving not even re-racking their weights. This place is legitimately a joke.
They replaced the kids club with tanning beds cause of course everyone needs a tanning bed that leads to cancer. It’s more important than parents having their children watched while they workout.
Just keep adding more and more people and let’s make it a new world record and see how many we can fit in the gym at one time!
Thanks for letting greed ruin this gym, also management acts as if they are some higher power. The only thing they do is boss you around and micro-manage the younger employees all day.

This Texas Family Fitness turned Planet Fitness is unlike other Planet Fitness locations, but I think that's a good thing. The building is bright and the equipment is spread out in an intuitive manner. The equipment is good and usually clean. The staff is nice and the locker rooms are clean. Only thing, I wish they had more cleaning stations spread out throughout the gym. Sometimes, you have to walk far to go get the cleaner.

We had 2 memberships on hold back with TX Family. Never received anything that our accounts would automatically transfer over to Planet Fitness (which we didn't want) or authorize any charges. Just noticed that we had charges since January from Planet Fitness we never authorized. Called the 888 number and they told me I had to go into the gym to talk with the manager to get this resolved. Went in and spoke with GERALD. At first he was friendly and asked how he could help. When I explained the situation he basically told me this is how they do things...when PF acquired TX Family they got all the memberships and could keep charging for the accounts. I said I didn't authorize this to happen and that their billing dept told me to get this resolved at the gym. He told me there was nothing he could do about this and this is how they work. So I told him I would then just report it to my bank as fraud since I didn't authorize these transactions with the new gym (PF). At that point he got more negative with me, shaking his head back and forth rolling his eyes. I then told him to cancel both memberships and he told me there was a 7 day notice so I said ok well that shouldn't matter since you charged me today and that means I have the month so 7 days won't matter. Then he said "actually it's 30 days but I cancelled that for you so you are welcome (in a very snooty tone). I said you just told me 7 days now you say 30...he said, I cancelled the 30 days for you so you are welcome (again snooty). Listen..I am sure they have received LOTS of complaints about this exact situation and that can be frustrating...but as a manager Gerald, you are in the public service industry. Just telling someone "sorry that's how we do it", get snooty, shaking your head back and forth (as in disgust) , rolling your eyes and then verbally expect a thank you (by saying "you are welcome) for something you say you did for me (waived the 30 day notice even though you told me it was 7 ...is NOT how you should act as a manger. With that, you should not be in your position. You weren't willing to work with me so filing with my bank was the next step since again I did not authorize PF to charge anything to my account. You might want to rethink your tone with people, the eye rolling and the negative connotation of "you are welcome" when dealing with customers...you won't continue to get business if that's how you deal with people.

I am extremely disappointed in the progression of this gym as it has gotten taken over by Planet Fitness.
Personally, prior to the switch, I had been attending Texas Family Fitness for a year and a half, and was overall satisfied with the quality of the gym.
When it got bought out by Planet Fitness, the depreciation immediately started. The gym is poorly maintained; the equipment is often dusty and dirty. I find trash and globs of hair in the restroom essentially every time I visit. Something is always broken, be it the water lines or the cables, sometimes even the treadmills.
Today, I got approached by an employee, and was notified that I needed to put my gym bag in my locker. Personally, I use safety gear, such as straps and grips. My bag stays with me so that I can grab these at my convenience. In every other gym I have gone to (including Crunch, Fitness Connection, Anytime, 24Hours, EOS), bags have never been an issue. If this rule had been enforced when they first got bought out, I would not have an issue, but it has now been 6 months since this gym was purchased by Planet Fitness, and this whole thing has left an extremely bad taste in my mouth. I will be cancelling my membership.
This gym is alienating its customer base. I know of many professional body builders that attend this gym who need their bags for their gear. It really is such a shame, because the environment of this gym prior to being bought out was welcoming and supportive of wherever you are in your fitness journey, but it seems to be the opposite now. I will be cancelling my membership!

This facility is really cool, tons of options available to give you any workout you want. Biggest PF I’ve seen. Only complaint (and it is the reason I rarely go to this PF even though it’s right by my house) is the gym etiquette of the members- for example the amount of people, usually teenagers, that go in big groups and crowd areas which make it difficult to get to equipment. I feel like I’m having to constantly ask people to move or ask to use equipment they’re standing around. Usually just talking to their friends or on their phones. It is also quite annoying when it seems every single person is taking photos in the mirror when you go to the locker room. I thought we were here to workout and not to post photos for social media? The staff is very nice, the gym is huge and offers a lot of options for workouts and generally very clean! If not for the members i would definitely recommend.

Gave this place a second chance and I doubt I'll ever go back. I keep a PF membership because it's convenient with my frequent work travel. Decided to hit this place with the wife and told her she was on her own as I'll never go back. This place sucked all the joy out of my favorite thing to do on a Saturday. Where to begin... Extremely dirty, packs of unsupervised elementary school & middle school aged children running around, full of a certain demographic that feels the need to come in wearing sleep clothes as well as a refusal to wear any form of deodorant. There is an over abundance of certain machines and racks while totally lacking more of the most frequently used machines. Seriously 2 Smith machines? There are PF's that are a 1/3 of the size with 6 or more. When using a machine you better have your next 3 that are needed already scoped out and ready to pivot your routine or get ready to stand around. It took me 3hrs to get through a normally 45 minute session. I won't make the mistake of deviating from my regular non PF local gym again. It's really sad because this place has so much potential. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time!

if ur gonna have a crowed gym like this, make ur ur PAPER TOWELS ARE STOCKED BECAUSE THEY NEVER ARE! This is an extremely crowed small gym and there’s never paper towels and have to go to different parts of the gym to get some. This should be a violation to something because a lot of people sweat not being cleaned. EQUIPMENT IS BROKEN! In the TOOK DOWN THE WOMENS AREA there are broken machines and haven’t been fixed. They could at least put sign to not use it but no?

UPDATE. My review was for Texas Family Fitness, who Planet Fitness bought out.
Fraud alert!!! I transferred from another location to this gym. Instead of transferring, they opened a new account so I was double billed. They agreed this was done fraudulently but they refused to refund my money. So, I had Amex investigate for fraud. Amex refunded my 2nd payment. I tried to work with this location for weeks, but they refused to do anything. So I cancelled. Now, I'm being texted and called by their off-shore collection agency, even though I have a copy of my cancellation with them. DO NOT JOIN here. You will regret it.

had an extremely disappointing experience at Planet Fitness. I was enrolled in personal training sessions with a trainer named David. When I arrived for my third session, I found out he had been fired a week ago. The gym never informed me about this change.
When I spoke to the manager, Gerald, he insisted they had called me, which was not true. Even if they couldn’t reach me, they made no effort to leave a voicemail or send an email about such an important update. Gerald was incredibly arrogant and dismissive throughout our conversation. When I requested to cancel my membership, he refused to process it, claiming only the finance manager could handle it and told me to come back on Monday. This was baffling since he was the one who managed my registration initially.
Overall, the lack of communication and professionalism was unacceptable. I strongly advise anyone considering this gym to think twice.

Tried this location for the first time. I wanted to sign up my kid to get trained and went up front to ask about the coaching services they had , the lady was super nice and redirected me to one trainer sitting in front I walked up to him , greeted him several times with no response by the time he took his head up , I still said hello I have a question …he was still silent , looking at me with so much irritation and then I said I have greeted you several times is it that you are not in the mood to speak ?
He then arrogantly murmured I didn’t hear you.
I want to believe that he either found another job or something because to think that someone with such disrespectful behavior is working in planet fitness beats my imagination. I have never been treated like this in planet fitness.
I proceeded with asking for someone else and the lady directed me to the manager who was super nice and helpful but after we left and I told my husband who will be bringing my son what had happened he refused allowing my son sign up in that location because of what happened.

Never had a horrible experience at the gym until today! From the rudeness of the “trainer” Alex to the partiality from the manager AJ over a nonexistent issue. After being asked how much longer I had on a particular machine by Alex(the “trainer”), mind you there was another being used by someone else who was never asked how long, and calmly explaining how I had 1 more round of 3 and receiving an unnecessary lesson on how other people need to use the machine and other words I couldn’t hear, to say I was aggravated would almost be an understatement. I’m not sure what type of training staff and management receive when they are hired but maybe it should be reviewed.
As a woman of color, I will not be made to feel uncomfortable in a gym I patronize, I will not be treated as an “aggressor” or problematic client, nor allow blatant lies to be accepted over the truth. Anytime you go the gym there is always going to be someone on a machine you wish to use, if you ask and they tell you how much longer, you simply wait until that person is done or you move to another machine. Never been informed about a time limit of use per machine at any gym I’ve ever been a member of and I’m sure it doesn’t start at planet fitness. I emailed the GM so hopefully he or corporate gets back to me soon, but Do better!

the ignite room always feels muddy. this place is dirty, walking bugs on the turf, balls of hair everywhere. all other planet fitness are clean, why is this not? because we have barbells? management be so for real, it's not that hard to clean up or tell members to put on some deodorant. I've worked at gyms before, telling people not to stink is not hard. Keeping the gym clean is not hard. Ya'll need to start selling deodorants and more energy drink options.

Since Planet Fitness took over, the gym is no longer clean, many of the machines have ripped covers that don’t get fixed, kids in groups of 4-6 stand around one machine making it impossible to use. Kids coming over from the high school bringing friends as their guest (under the age of 18). Working out in jeans, crocs, slides, and even using machines with their backpack still on their back and computer sticking out the top. Then the Black Card membership….a waste! Anyone, with ANY membership can use the recovery room, that is supposedly for Black Card members only. There are kids on the massage chairs so never available. The leg compression sleeves have been broken for months. Nothing to use. Since the scanners were disconnected to get into the room, it’s a free for all. I should get a refund for my black card membership fee, since Planet Fitness took over, as a regular membership gets you all the perks. I’ve been waiting since January to see Planet Fitness make this gym live up to its standards, and so far nothing. I was previously a member at the Frisco location. Very disappointing, as Texas Family Fitness and the Frisco Planet Fitness (shout out to Rome) took good care of there gyms, enforced the rules, and made it a pleasant experience for everyone. Shout out to Nikki for being an amazing fitness manager (who now transferred), and to AJ for filling her shoes, as well as Troy for being an amazing trainer. Hoping for improvements but not holding my breath. If you are looking to join, do not get the Black Card membership. You pay extra for nothing! Get the basic membership and upgrade if things start to change.

I’ve been coming to this gym for a little over two weeks now, and I have to say, I’m really impressed. I was a bit nervous at first based on some of the reviews, but I quickly realized that timing is everything—early mornings are the way to go! Shoutout to the dedicated crew that shows up around 4 AM.
This gym is not your average Planet Fitness. I’ve been to the “purple palace” with the alarm on the wall, and this gym is on a whole different level. It provides options for all body types and lifting styles, from boxing bags and sleds to battle ropes and more. If you’re looking for a gym that truly caters to its members, this is it.
Now, onto the one issue I’ve noticed: the availability of wipes, paper towels, and spray to clean machines. This is a huge problem, especially in the early mornings and even mid-day. I know some might see this as a cleanliness concern, but I think it’s an easy fix that shouldn’t affect the gym’s rating. Even when supplies are stocked, I see too many people skipping out on wiping down machines, which is how germs spread—one of the main reasons I had stopped going to traditional gyms in the past.
If staffing is an issue, maybe setting up a designated area with multiple spray bottles and paper towels would help. I do want to acknowledge the worker from Friday the 21st—when I asked about cleaning supplies, he immediately greeted me, apologized on behalf of the gym, and quickly got it taken care of. That kind of service shows that the staff truly cares about the gym’s standards.
Overall, this is a fantastic gym that offers great value and an impressive range of equipment. The bathrooms are always clean, and I’ve had zero issues there. If a small adjustment can be made to ensure cleaning supplies are consistently available, this gym will be unstoppable. I’d be happy to speak with the general manager about it, but in the meantime, I’ll keep showing up (especially at 4 AM).
Highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for a place that truly supports all fitness levels and goals!

I used to love this gym, but it’s really gone downhill since Planet Fitness took over. The cleanliness is just not what it used to be; it’s not terrible, but it definitely doesn’t live up to the standards provided by Texas Family Fitness. The machines aren’t as well-maintained either, which is disappointing. To make matters worse, they’ve removed the tinted windows, meaning the sun now shines directly into the gym, creating an uncomfortable workout environment. It’s especially bad in the room where classes are held and people are working out independently.
Because of all these issues, I’ve resumed going to 24 Hour Fitness, even though I have to pass Planet Fitness and drive an additional 10 minutes to get there. Between workout environment and flexible hours, it just feels like a better place.

I'm sticking with my 5-stars despite the transition. I was dreading the change because I hated PF before I even worked out at one.
I don't like that they close crazy early 3 days of the week. But they make up for it by being open 24 hours on the weekdays, which has been a nice convenience a couple of times.
Removing the kids club and aerobics forced my wife to cancel. But this is still the 2nd closest gym to me. However I'm open to switching for the right/additional reasons.
The gym is still new and the staff and members are 50% the same.
I haven't seen donuts :( or the the infamous" Lunk Alarm" (yet).
It's true the gym is missing that old blond manager lady that use to keep it tidy. She was like the gym mom that kept TFF awesome and I miss her.
I was leaning toward 4 stars, but everything I can ask for from a PF is good - so 5 stars it is (for now, lol).

Very disappointed when they switched from TFF to Planet, Reviews are there for a reason. I'm paying for black card for 3 months so far, not even once front desk checked to see if I have the right to use the red light, the recovery room, used to be a scanner at the door, not anymore, anyone gets in there using the chairs and red light, no question asked, and I'm paying double, people use the chairs for 20 min, either they are broken are taken. I should get a refund for the difference. I'm paying for the black card based on the fact that I am using the recovery room.

Decent equipment, bright and airy. This isn’t a small gym, but it’s still packed. I have come to this location at different times and you will be in for a long wait for the cardio and weight area. There is always a line waiting for basic gym equipment. Feels packed like Sardines in a can. I will give it more time and hope to find a time when this location isn’t so busy. The good news so far is that the members don’t hog the weight machines like other locations, but I find my self having to change my routine every time because the amount of people waiting in line to use equipment is so long. So far everyone has been focused on their workout and not socializing which helps. Haven’t seen anyone on their phone which helps keep everyone moving.
It’s a shame they can’t double their size or open another location to reduce the foot traffic. I really want to rate this location higher.
Yesterday every sanitation station was empty. With the measles outbreak and COVID only being in our rear view mirror I would think gyms would be on their A game. We can’t afford schools, offices and gyms to close. With the number of people at this gym, planet fitness must be turning a profit to buy supplies or is it lazy staff. I wish I knew the answer. Catching the flu or cold shouldn’t be something for me to worry about when I come to a gym, unfortunately with that many people, using the same equipment and not cleaning it after use makes me concerned.

Prior to the acquisition, this used to be a VERY clean and well maintained gym with sanitizing wipes available throughout the club for members to wipe down equipment. These receptacles are now empty and the cleaning standard has clearly lowered. I consistently step onto cardo equipment covered in dried sweat and covered in dust, find globs of hair in the women's locker room, benches in dire need of wiping, etc. I understand if it's not within PF's business model to offer group lessons or a Women's only weight room... but cleanliness is non-negotiable in any business.

Things have gotten a little better since day one after changing from TFF. However, the women's only area is a cramped and I'm hoping that area can be rearranged or put into a larger space.
I am a Black Card member and I take full advantage of the "Spa" area. Unfortunately, the hydromassage tables are not always functioning and the space is often a bit unkempt. I can't help wondering what keeps lower level membership folks from just walking in and taking advantage of those perks though they're not paying for it. That's just not right.
The front desk staff are not very friendly or attentive but I have had zero problems checking in or using my PF app.
I'm looking forward to seeing this location improve but I find it to be a decent place to workout overall. If improvements aren't made by the time my membership terms end, I will switch to a different gym.

The workout machines and equipment are very cheap, poorly maintained, and there seems to be little concern for the environment. Whenever someone raises a complaint about the equipment or questions the absence of hand sanitizers, the typical response is "we are just working here, management is poor." This response suggests to me that there is a lack of care; they are merely passing time to get paid. Since this gym was acquired from Texas Family Gym, its rating has plummeted from 4.5 stars to 2 stars.

I was a member of Texas family fitness before Planet Fitness bought them. Planet fitness has ruined this gym.
Their slogan “More perks are headed your way!” What a LIE!!
Planet Fitness has cancelled all the group fitness classes and childcare. Hundreds of women did the group fitness classes and many more relied on the child care for an hour or so during their workouts. Those people have been forced to quit the gym entirely.
Even the personal training I was doing before is at risk. The trainers are worried if they will even have a job and some have left. Planet fitness doesn’t have personal training at its other locations so they expect it will be canceled here too.
They can’t even get the account system to work right. Over a month later and we still don’t have a working way to scan in when we arrive at the gym. No key cards or app to use. Just complete junk. They tell me each time it will be next week. For the last month. So they don’t have a clue.
Planet fitness has failed and ruined these Texas family fitness gyms. They even closed 3 of the texas locations and fired everyone there.

Transition to PF was a shock to everyone. It was effective immediately. Not much has changed, but losing the women’s only fitness area was a real bummer.
TF should be ashamed of themselves. They transitioned very sloppy. If you were a member with TF, you paid first and last month’s membership but PF will not honor that. Does that mean TF essentially made out with money for services they did not provide? Oh and TF has no contact according to the PF staff. Their suggestion is to dispute this with our banks. Sounds a bit like a class action lawsuit.
I know that’s not technically PF fault but the transition has been a huge adjustment period. I was okay with resigning mostly because PF said there would be nobody under 15 allowed anymore, so why am I working out next to 10-12 year olds every single day? The desk is a nightmare with only 1-2 staff members each day. They get so overwhelmed that they just wave anyone through, including adolescents that have no respect for anyone’s space and can’t follow gym etiquette. The bathrooms aren’t cleaned regularly and it is severely crowded at most times.
Hopefully it’s just an adjustment period but we will see!

TFF was my first & favorite gym and I was really disappointed to see the news of it becoming a planet fitness, a chain that I've only ever heard negative things about.
I think the communication could have been handled a lot better than a brief email and instagram post the day of the change, but the transition was easy enough; I just walked in, they pulled up my account from my phone number, took a new picture, and I was good to go. Since the transition, my monthly payment was charged on time and was the same amount as before, just billed to PF instead of TFF.
As of right now, it seems like the equipment is mostly, if not all the same as before (at least from what I've used), minus the TFF branding/signs. I've only been a few times since the new year but the bathroom has been clean, equipment works fine, wipe stations are still there, and for the most part there aren't too many changes other than the PF logos + obnoxious signs plastered everywhere.
I can't say much about the staff as I haven't spoken to anyone other than to check in, but walking in does seem a bit less welcoming than it did before.
I was honestly scared to go back after the transition and immediately started looking at other gyms, especially after reading the reviews here. It's not as bad as I expected, at least for now. My hope is that the equipment remains the same, as everything was fairly new to begin with. I'm just worried that it'll all be swapped out eventually in an effort to give the place more of a PF vibe.

This was not the case with TFF for there was always someone available to answer your question within 1-2 minutes of you approaching them. I mean, if you can't hire people fast enough to cater to the customer needs, then why did you bother to mess up a perfectly operational set up.
Equipment:
The treadmills, stairmasters and any equipment that one could sync smart watches with during TFF time no longer work. I just asked one of the team members this yesterday and she said "I didn't know they worked". This is the level of professionalism and training that these kids have been provided by an organization that claims 'Judgement free zone', while not being able to facilitate people in seeing how they're doing in achieving and beating their goals.
Mobile Application:
It has been over a month now that TFF became PF (or close to it before someone from PF fact checks me) but the mobile app. still can't link my membership. I checked this last time earlier today and guy at the counter said "Yeah, we're still having problems with the app.". Well, fix the application or stop using it altogether. For an organization that is running 200 plus locations in TX alone, not being able to seamlessly transition to their mobile app. for customers' convenience is embarassing.

Worst acquisition of all time! No notice of switching ownership. Never adjusted membership and changed an account closing fee when I payed $80 to pay for my last month up front. They also removed the cleaning equipment and private workout room.
The former Texas Family Fitness owner is the absolute worst for how he handled the selling and transition period of the gym. Zero commitment to the members and zero communication on his end.
Planet Fitness business model is something I cant ever get behind. Never asked or ever wanted to be a member of planet fitness.

This has been the worst transition to Planet Fitness. I had some personal training sessions purchased last Sep and canceled in Nov making Dec my last month. Now after the switching over to Planet Fitness, they are telling me I never canceled and that I will be charged again another 200.00 training session for this month and will need to now cancel and pay again next month potentially. The GM Jairo said he will email someone to get it help with getting my training canceled but cant ensure it will happen nor when. My concern is I am about to be charged again next week for these training sessions when I shouldn't be as I canceled this back in Nov. Seems like nobody can help with any of these, I tried calling the call center and speaking to a manager only to have her tell me go back to the club and deal with this as they cant do nothing. What a pain in the you know what. I just need the training session canceled as they should have already been. This is so frustrating dealing with this company and the management that have in place.
Not to mention there are no more whips to sanitize the equipment, bathrooms are gross. The gym is WAY OVER CROWDED. Keep you money and go elsewhere, I PROMISE IT WILL SAVE YOU from a huge headache dealing with these people.
I cant respond to their response, but I did that and sent an email to the Social team and they came back with some vague BS....Here is what they said:
Hi there, Bill!
You've reached PF's Social Media Response Team. We can answer any questions you have about our general policies or help guide you to the best point of contact for any issues.
We're saddened to hear that you've had some trouble with billing. Unfortunately, being we're the National Social Team, we do not have access to members' accounts or billing for security and privacy reasons. Planet Fitness provides training fee of charge, so you should not have any issues in the future with any additional training charges. Since PF clubs are independently owned and operated at the club level, we recommend staying in contact with the GM as they have full access to your account and are currently addressing this issue in regard to your former club and the training charge you received.

If I could give this gym -5 stars I would. It was great when it was Texas Family Fitness. Since Planet Fitness took over it is a disaster. Missing free weights, men now allowed in the women’s only work out room, nothing works, broken equipment, and it is dirty. Sanitizing wipe stations are always empty. Staff doesn’t care, will give false information (such as are you keeping the women’s only area?) So sad this gym is now TERRIBLE !!!!!

Since TFF sold out, the gym has been slam packed full of people. More so than ever before, every single machine taken. It’s unfortunate the gym has switched to Planet Fitness which focuses on quantity over quality. Cheap memberships crammed in like anchovies in the Krusty Krab. See attached photo for reference.
Positive note, shout out to the OG TFF employees that have hung around and still have a positive attitude. Planet Fitness doesn’t deserve you!

So pity that I need to give even a star. There should be a negative star or at least black hole. The TFF was such a good place but now... I can not even cancel my subscription. The general customer services number/staff is not helpful at all! Total trash!

As soon as this month ends, we are OUT. Very poor transition after this is acquired by PT ( Texas Family Fitness was doing good )
The front desk folks do not know anything about previous deal. Our account was drafted the annual fee again, when we had just joined TFF 2 weeks before and already paid their annual fee. We refuted it with our bank and got the $120 back. But we were basically ignored when we approached someone there about it. They said “We don’t give refunds.” We said we never authorized PF to draft our account. We prepaid our first and last mo this fee with TFF and are giving you our notice, so we should pay nothing. They still drafted one month fee for us both. Didn’t refute this. We are just sick of the way they run things. Ready to go back to CrossFit!

I have been going to TFF for the past 2 years, and I had chosen TFF over PF for various reasons. The fact that they literally haven’t changed much so far is great, but they have for sure ruined the best gym. They haven’t updated any machines or anything (They said they wouldn’t on the email first sent) because that purple EVERYTHING is such a headache. So far, haven’t had to deal with their staff too much to tell whether they’re rude or not, but i definitely miss TFF… and all the nice trainers they had. Everyone is gone now.

The Front Staff does not know anything about previous deal , We have to pay again the Annual fee which is really ridiculous and on top of it they are now asking for Annual contract for less facilities
No Group class
No Child care support

This place is such a joke after the transition from TFF. The new staff is clueless and does not care about the clientele. The cut-rate/high volume business model at Planet Fitness means this once well-managed facility is now packed with people more interested in holding phone conversations, social hours on the machines, and videoing themselves for their social media feeds. If that is your thing, this may be the place for you. If you are interested in actually getting a workout in, I would look elsewhere.

Just to preface this review, I've only ever been to planet fitness gyms. After about a year of being a black card member, I was eager to try out this more convenient location and see different equipment. I was not impressed, but I don't lift and I might need to return with it is less crowded. I do feel bad for current members who have to deal with the frustration of changes at their home gym.
The equipment throughout the gym was aesthetically sophisticated, but functionally inferior to the procor machines, IMO. The switches on the weight stack were interesting, but the machines seemed like they had fewer adjustments. Despite the pretty chain, the rowing machines were a cheap fan-based stairmaster model and did not maintain much resistance. The treadmills were equivalent to the ones at the new McKinney location. They had an extra five degrees of incline, which was fun. There were no TVs in the cardio area. The curved treadmill was fun to try.
I couldn't find a decline bench, captains chair, back extension machine, stretch cage, trx, calf machine, hip machines.. but it was so crowded. I may have missed these. For the floor space of this gym, there were not as many weight machines as I would expect. Most PF's have two of most major machines, and a third in the circuit room. It was nice to see an open mat.
The women's fitness room was like a tiny, stuffy, enclosed space for second class citizens. The equipment that I used there was worn and made a ton of noise. It was difficult to move through the space without friction. I prefer using the circuit room/space at planet fitness, which usually is semi-walled off and ends up as basically a women's room.
The sanitation stations were sparse and not well signed, and the wipes left foamy residue on the machines. No one was wiping down the cardio equipment. There were no wipes by the upstairs cardio equipment. Super gross. The dyson hand dryers were a spiffy touch. I didn't attempt to try the black card spa here. Overall, it seems like a rocky transition, but we will see.

Previously I escaped Planet Fitness for many reasons and this goes to prove it.
No longer have sanitizing wipes for the equipment. The cables are now missing hooks and handles (ropes). The restroom had doo doo-feces everywhere…the floor, the walls, the ceiling, and it stunk so bad. None of the stalls had toilet paper either. Whomever had the blowout in the stalls is most likely dirty and out on the gym floor sitting on the equipment.

I wish I could give zero stars. Texas Family Fitness used to be well-maintained with friendly staff and great service. However, ever since Planet Fitness took over, it has gone downhill. There are no sanitizing wet wipes, many machines are missing hooks or cables, and the overall maintenance has deteriorated. To make matters worse, they’re now charging more than what I used to pay. If you acquire a gym, you should honor the original pricing—not take advantage of loyal clients. Save your money and avoid signing up here; it’s not worth it.

This company is fraudulent. I can’t even login to my Texas family fitness account to cancel my membership. I have emailed, called all of the numbers available and no one has responded or given a direct answer. When you go in person they give you a card with a number on it that doesn’t even help you. Please stay away from planet fitness or any gym memberships that require a contract.
