Do not sign up here, complexly a rip off, they charged me $164 per month without my consent, and continued to do so for months and the only way you can cancel a personal trainer membership is by seeing one person. Horrible customer service. You can find a better gym.

It was best run location when it was Texas Family Fitness. Now as Planet Fitness it’s the worst place. Equipment failures are frequent and take forever for them to fix.
This week most of their treadmills are broken. And it will be a week before it will be fixed.
Go somewhere else where you do not need to worry about availability of running equipment.
Avoid this place.

You would think this was a kid, friendly gym. The manager didn’t even ask. Question how old my children was. He just escorted us out. And we’ve been there multiple times I’ve seen other children with their parents there embarrassing, inconsiderate no communication careless about the situation.

Hey management, please instruct your employees to not constantly flash the lights 20 minutes ahead of closing time. I just experienced a solid 5 minutes of lights flashing on and off while on a stair master (I left well before closing). Not great to get off of those during the lights flashing. I’d be surprised if there hasn’t been an injury due to this yet. It also doesn’t seem very ADA compliant for those with sight issues.

This is a REVISED review.
6 months ago we had left a very disappointed review on the worsening dirty conditions and lack of professionalism at this Planet Fitness location. After the acquisition of TFF, for 6 months the location seemed to be getting worse and worse and we were about to cancel our membership. After a LONG pause (3 months) we returned in September to a pleasant surprise.
We noticed immediately how clean, almost immaculate the gym was. Renovations were complete. Staff were friendly and social. It felt like a completely different location. I let the new manager Delvin know what a great job they have done, and we are now so happy to be staying with Planet Fitness. Our 1 star review is easily a well deserved 5 star. We appreciate the great service and above all cleanliness of the gym very much.

The gym has improved in many ways. The showers now provide warm water if you let it heat up for a minute though the water pressure is not quite ideal yet.
They have improved their spa area with hydro beds and massage chairs that work!
The equipment is still from the previous gym which is good, just know it's not the typical purple gym atmosphere that PF is known for: There are actual free weights, benches, squat racks and platforms, and machines.

I stopped in to sign up, the younger guy behind the counter (although nice) inquired if I filled out a waiver when I toured it 2 weeks ago (with Chris who was amazing), when I said yes he went around to the office to ask something, came back and he told me to sign up online....what the heck, I am literally in front of you and you told me to go online. Did I do it online, yes but train your people better...

Worst worst worst. This is by far the worst gym I’ve ever been to. The facility is extremely unclean and overcrowded, making it uncomfortable to work out. On top of that, the staff are rude, unhelpful, and careless with members’ concerns. Overall, a terrible experience — I would not recommend this Planet Fitness to anyone.

Went to this gym recently a couple o f times now. It's by far the worst PF I've ever been to. Not a single shower has hot water-i know -I tried them all. Also they have hours and are not even 24/7. Macho guy at front desk was yelling at everyone to get out one night i went in as they were closing. He was also very condescending when answering simple questions about the membership.

I’m very disappointed. A weight scale is a standard feature in nearly every gym, yet this one doesn’t provide it. Instead, they push it as an “extra perk,” which feels like a way to squeeze more money from members. It’s a real inconvenience for anyone tracking progress and makes the whole experience less practical.

When it was under Texas family fitness, this gym was a lot nicer and cleaner. Since Planet fitness took over, machines are out of order more frequently and the gym is dirty. This gym lately has turned into teenagers daycare. It is impossible to get a quick nice work out done without dealing with disrespectful teenagers.

Switched gyms , planet fitness is closer to the house. I will start with, I have not been sick in two years first week at this gym and surprise got sick. The place is not very clean by no means also there’s always equipment that’s down for maintenance. The men’s locker room looks like a trashy boys high school Locker room. Only good thing they have is a friendly staff.

Open, airy, safe, and state-of-the-art equipment. Kept fairly clean most of the time, although you'll find that the bathrooms will occasionally need some additional attention. The primary issue, and the difference between a 4 vs. 5 star rating is that there are longer than acceptable wait times for some of the equipment. Specifically, they have too much of some equipment and not enough of others...it is an equipment mix issue, not a space problem. Should be an easy fix if the right individuals are involved.

Extremely disappointing experience at this Planet Fitness.
Almost none of the machines work, everything is constantly out of order. The gym is always packed, yet it’s clear they’re not investing in maintaining or upgrading equipment. With such a large customer base, there’s no excuse for the poor condition of this location. Absolutely unacceptable.

Stay away from this gym! It’s terrible. I’m glad I only come here twice a month if that. I usually go to the colony location which is 1000x better. The bathroom are disgusting I swear they only clean them once a week. The place is run by a bunch of kids and they do nothing but be on their phones all day.

Half the time I come in at 7:00 am on the weekends to workout the staff is late so there is a crowd waiting outside to get in, the equipment is janky and ALL of the cable machines need to be oiled REALLY REALLY bad as they all stick and jerk due to being dry and not oiled. Definitely the worst planet fitness I’ve been too. I think I’m going to switch to golds or la fitness and just pay the extra monthly fee.

I have been coming to this location when it used to be Texas Family Fitness and I love it. The staff is amazing as well as the GM Page and the Fitness Manager Carla. The training staff is also amazing.
If you are looking for a trainer, and are new to Planet Fitness and want to know more about their Design Your Own Program (which is included in the Black Card and Basic Membership) I recommend Pierre Chenault because he is excellent at what he does and is very professional and is there from sunrise to sundown.

Worst Planet Fitness I've ever been to. Poorly working equipment, zero mats to stretch on, no black card spa. The GM said they acquired this gym in December and it still does not feel like a Planet Fitness in July. Get it together guys! I just moved to the area and will be finding another gym. Super disappointed.

I already mentioned in the above review that I did talk to a manager. I'm not sure if this is a franchise or a corporate gym, but I'm putting my money on a franchise. Again, it doesn't feel like a Planet Fitness. I travel the country for work and frequently visit different Planet Fitness' all over. They all have the same thing in common, usually. The colors are purple and gold, there are no scales, the equipment functions properly, there is a black card spa that is open, and they're clean....that was not true for this location. If it is a franchise, it's not technically your fault. Corporate should have rules as far as their brand goes and should have given you a timeline to achieve said goals. With all that being said, you are not the gym for me. I have already found another PF in Frisco that actually fits the brand, which is what I pay for.

I have been a loyal and committed patron at the location in Little Elm TX for 5 years.
I called today to inquire about 2 charges showing on my bank statement this month, when there should have only been 1.
The first person I spoke with never asked any identifying questions of me and stated she needed to put me on a brief hold to look at my account but disconnected me. I called back and explained that I had called and was put on hold already and how that ended and asked if she would be able to assist me without putting me on hold, as I was at work and did not have the time to continue having to call back over and over.
From the start she was arrogant, unprofessional and unhelpful. She stated that the double payment was my fault because I should have followed the instructions in the email that was sent out. I explained I did, and when I went into the gym and asked what I needed to do now that they were a new company, Ira told me there was nothing I needed to do. And that after my workout to come back to the front desk and he would give me a new card, to begin scanning, with the new logo.
When I went back, there were a lot of people standing in line and I did not want to wait, as I had already waited for the initial conversation asking Ira, what I should have done and he told me wait until later. I have used my Texas Family, Fitness card to scan my entry and every time yhey look at me and say "you're good to go. Enjoy your workout."
When I asked again to an unknown service person at the gym they stated, "it's really no big deal. Because it's all the same company. It all rolled over."
When explaining this to your customer service representative. She stated that she does not work in the field office at the gym. So she has no ability to confirm the accuracy of what I was telling her, and that I should have simply followed the instructions in the email at that point. I asked if there was a supervisor I could speak to as I wasn't understanding why I was responsible for doing all of these steps when I was being told something different at the actual gym. I also didnt ask to become a Planet Fitness member, it was forced on me when Texas Family Fitness bought them.
She continued to try to get the last word in after I repeatedly asked her to stop talking to me and simply transfer me to a manager, so I could finish the discussion professionally. She continued to snap back at me.
I calles again and spoke to another rep and asked her if I could speak to a manager, and she said, there were none. I asked if there was a formal process of which I could make a formal complaint. She began to tell me there was an email and then backtracked and stated, there is no such email.
I did go to the gym and spoke with Ira, who assisted me in canceling my
member. When I explained to him that the original call was just to inquire about a double payment. We found that the second payment had been removed. I explained to him I wanted to cancel anyway due to the unsatisfactory encounter I had with that representative.
I may be old school, but generally when a customer states they no longer want to be a customer due to unprofessional behavior, 9 times out of 10, the staff person will ask what they can do to make things better to salvage the relationship. He did not ask me any of that, nor did he try it all to salvage the 5 year relationship and the money that I have paid for my time there.
Which is an indication that you don't care about your customers or the business they bring you. That's unfortunate for both the customer and the longevity of Planet Fitness. I am not confident anything will come of this as behaviors of direct staff are clear indications of the mindset of leadership. I hope you do take my feedback and do something with it. So that you don't lose more loyal customers. However, you have lost this one.

I have been working out with trainer Pierre for 3 years now. I am 58 years old and I am stronger and more toned than I have ever been in my life. The weight training I do with Pierre has improved my bone density, over all health, weight loss and pickleball game. I highly recommend Pierre if you are looking to get fit!

I’ve been to a few different gyms, but nothing compares to the vibe at this Planet Fitness. The facility is always super clean, the equipment is in great shape, and I never feel judged or out of place. The manager Page was very helpful in signing me up for my new membership and helping me get everything i want out of Planet Fitness! If you’re looking for a fitness center that values cleanliness, affordability, and outstanding customer service, I highly recommend this location!!

This is the worst gym I have ever been to in my life. It's equipment is old and either broken or worn out. It's too close together. The restrooms are dirty, and the stall doors don't even have room to close. The gym gets very crowded even at night. They should have never stayed open when Texas Family Fitness left.

Do not sign up if this is your home location. Drive to another Planet Fitness location. Preston Rd. The Colony, Costa. The 423 location is severely mismanaged. Youth overrun the facility daily and behave like they are at a club. Dirty machines, sqeaking treadmills, , people grunting loudly and dropping weights with no workers telling them to chill. Nothing here that Planet Fitness stands for and everything you hate in a gym. Again, the other locations mentioned are a 5\5.

Great location. Great atmosphere. Generally very clean, although anywhere you have people coming in and out at all hours, some will not pick up after themselves. Staff is friendly. They have everything you could image for your workout. You'll find people of all shapes, sizes, ages, background, level of fitness, race, and nationality. No matter where you are in your fitness journey, you'll fit in here. I wish they opened earlier on Saturdays and Sundays, at least at 6:00 AM, instead of 7:00 AM. They do need to sync all of their clocks. Some are over an hour behind and others are several minutes different. Some of the equipment needs to be straightened as they have shifted over time with use. Some of this might be my OCD.

Ever since PF took over there is only 1 safe bench press bar that carried over from TFF. If you are actually at a high level of strength, you can tell all the bars are weighted unevenly and it's going to get someone hurt. People are constantly sharing 1 bench or waiting for that one bar. God forbid you have some guy bogarting the only bar with 5lbs on it. It's very frustrating. Get real properly weighted 45lb bars please. This is ridiculous. Again, someone bench pressing 135lbs will not notice. Anyone getting into rep ranges with 225-315 notice immediately. ITS UNSAFE.

Since Planet Fitness took over the TXF Fitness location in Frisco, things have gone downhill. The bathrooms and the gym room itself are consistently dirty, which is disappointing for a gym that emphasizes cleanliness. The wipes to clean the machines are frequently out, making it hard to maintain hygiene. On top of that, several machines that used to have two or more options have been reduced to just one, resulting in constant availability issues as they’re always in use.
It’s frustrating because this location had great potential, but the decline in maintenance and accessibility has made it harder to enjoy my workouts. I hope improvements are made soon!

I can’t speak to how this gym was prior to being bought by PF (though friends who went here prior have said they feel quality has gone down) but for me personally this gym really irks me from a clean and organized stance. Lots of equipment left all around the gym where it doesn’t belong, bar clips are rare to be found, on racks 35s in place of 10s, 10s in place of 25s, etc. It’s just annoying to have to search for everything you want to use because it isn’t where it should be. Husband said the lock on 1/2 of the men’s bathroom stall has been broken for over a week. Toilets unflushed. Toilet paper and debris on the floors. Every time I’ve used the bathroom most or all of the stalls are out of toilet paper, and the one that does have it will just be sitting on top of the dispenser or on the floor (gross). I’ve brought this up to staff multiple times and have been asked all of the times to replace the TP for them as they have no females on staff apparently, or maybe no female staff during the weekends or I’m just unlucky and there’s no female staff every time I happen to come. There is a sign that says there is a male worker in the bathroom that could be used, asking gym goers to do a job repeatedly that should be simple to handle by the literal staff is just poor management.

Great spot.... All the negative reviews are from old gym members expecting the gym to be as it was under a different ownership 🤔. Clearly its going to be different. Place is clean, updated, lots of room, nice machines and far more options than any other planet I have been to as I am originally from NY and our planets are not as nearly as nice and have zero free weight options.

Really nice Planet Fitness. Huge. Equipment is very easy to work. Staff is pretty friendly. The only negative is the spray is far from the treadmills. They were out of the paper towels to clean the machine with. They need extra spray to clean the machine with. Otherwise a good experience here.

Ever since PF bought out TFF seems to be more annoying little kids hanging out on their phones in a group taking up what space is even left after the change up with the weights. TFF had everything set up perfectly with room. This location needs to be 24/7 I get off work to come to gym 6pm packed with no room all weights taken by kids that sit on their phones not using them. No cleaning supplies to wipe down. If yall read these comments listen to us customers please we don’t give 1 star for no reason. Fix all the one star reviews and yall will have 5 star rating!

Loved this facility when it was TFF. Planet Fitness cancelled all classes so I closed my account. I gifted my grandson an account with TFF. He decided to stay with Planet Fitness. As a result of the change-over I was double-billed by Planet Fitness. I tried to resolve this issue with Planet Fitness by phone, by visiting the facility, and was told this morning that PF does not do refunds. What?? So I have contacted my bank to resolve this issue.

Every single sanitary wipe station is completely empty. DURING SICK SEASON. When I asked the front desk about it, I was met with a “oh we ran out”……
Is there some sort of global shortage on sanitary wipes I’m not aware or? Or is this just incompetent ownership/management?
Staying ahead of basic supplies running out feels like the bare minimum you should be giving your members.
Here’s a pro tip - when you see you will be running out of supplies in the coming days/weeks, order at THAT point so you are never completely out.

I was excited to see Planet Fitness open in Little Elm, but it’s missing a lot of standard equipment—no stretch machine, no dedicated 30-minute workout area, and very few ab machines. Additionally, cleaning supplies are often out. I’m hoping these are just temporary issues and that more updates are coming. If so, a sign at the front entrance letting members know what’s coming would help manage expectations. Otherwise, there may be a lot of disappointed customers.

I have serious concerns about my experience at Planet Fitness, particularly regarding the poor service during the December conversion. Of the eight TVs in the gym, four display black screens—ESPN, ABC, Fox Sports, and another channel. Furthermore, CNN is frozen, which is completely unacceptable. I believe that the gym should focus on creating an environment that is uplifting and not feature news broadcasts.

Gym is ok, always has been. But I come here to work out not get stopped by the same front desk dude because he wants to chat me up because he “sees me around”. Going to the gym as a woman is already a harrowing experience because of creepy men staring, not much can be done about that. But you definitely can train your staff to be professional and respectful.

Beautiful, clean and new-opened in late December 2024. Be notified, there is no tanning bed, no Hydro and no Red-light. YET! Very friendly staff and will be PRIMO when all the black card perks are installed.

Thia used to be a Texas Family Fitness and they downgraded to a Planet Fitness. Its not the same anymore and not to kention that i went to cancel my membership and they still charged me 2 months after, ive gone to cancel and i guess im going to have to go again. Theyre so annoying!

Disgusting restrooms, they never clean them. Smells like urine all over the restroom and locker room. Toilets are falling apart. They use to have group training classes and they don’t anymore. Now with the take over it’s lame and they don’t seem to care about the gym and their gym members.
Update: restrooms are cleaner, hopefully it stays that way.

We thought Planet Fitness will showcase more professionalism in terms of customer satisfaction but it looks Like Planet Fitness shown no respect to the members, there is complete messy environment for now including the machines
Most of the machines they just dumped into and they are either Broken or not working, most of the treadmills just shakes.
We asked for Paper towel they stopped providing and front desk just says they don’t have it
Most importantly they keep the lobby locked until 0500 AM, they should keep lobby open so that we early riser can wait their to avoid chilling temperatures in the morning.
I still request management to be there at 0500 AM and experience the pain what we get waiting outside at freezing temperatures and struggle with machines and lack of cleaning stuff.
Hope it’s addressed with immediate effect.

The layout is terrible. It was better before. The bench press machines are way too close. You cannot get behind the bench to spot someone. It’s a safety hazard if someone is lifting how are we supposed to help them if the weight falls on them? Also TFF kept the gym fairly clean. It’s dirty now. The floors are dirty… especially the turf.

I never leave reviews, but felt one was warranted following the acquisition of Texas Family Fitness by Planet Fitness.
First, the TFF members were notified the night before the acquisition. All of our memberships were automatically transferred to Planet Fitness without our consent.
Since Planet Fitness shut down the Kids Club, which was one of the primary reasons we chose TFF, we decided to cancel.
We visited the Frisco location and spoke with one of the front desk employees to request that our memberships be cancelled. The employee assisting us seemed incredibly annoyed with our request, but did assist us. My wife and I received cancellation notifications via email.
2 days later, I received a notice that $49.99 had been charged to my credit card from Planet Fitness Frisco. I immediately called the PF customer service line. The customer service agent who helped me over the phone confirmed that the $49.99 had been charged against my wife's account. He also mentioned that the account may not have been cancelled appropriately. He said he would pass the information along to the manager at the Frisco location, who would then call me back to assist with a refund of the $49.99. The customer service agent also suggested that I personally go back to the Frisco location, as they would be the only people who could assist with the refund.
The next day, I visited the PF Frisco location again. A different front desk person assisted me. Upon review, he told me that the person who originally helped with our cancellation did not cancel our memberships properly, which is why we were charged the $49.99. I told him that the PF customer service agent suggested I head in to request assistance with the refund. The associate at the front desk said, "I don't know why they told you that. We cannot help you with a refund."
The front desk employee then provided me with an escalation email address for the DFW area, and said they would be able to assist with the refund. He then completed the cancellation process, and my wife and I received a second cancellation notification. Hopefully, it was actually cancelled properly this time.
I returned home and typed up an email explaining our situation, and sent it to the escalation email address that was provided, along with the cancellation documents (from both attempts).
Immediately after sending the email, I received a bounce back stating that the email address I was provided was inactive. I found another contact email address in one of the emails we had received from PF Frisco, and attempted to forward the email along to that email address. After several days of following up, I still have not received a response. I have not received any form of communication from the Frisco location manager to assist with the refund.
Due to the lack of response, I am currently in the process of disputing the charge with my credit card company.
I hope TFF and Planet Fitness recognize how poorly they handled this transition. Members should have been contacted and given an opportunity to cancel. Instead, our memberships were sold to a company that has terrible customer service, and removed key features of our gym while calling it improvements.

I love Planet Fitness and thankful that a place like this exists. I exercise five days a week and PF provides plenty of equipment for me to get a full body workout, resistance training and cardio. I can’t believe that is available to us for only $10.

Planet fitness bought out Texas family fitness and I IMMEDIATELY wanted to cancel because I’m not a fan. I hate PF equipment. So I walked in the day they made the announcement that planet fitness bought the company and the manager told me to cancel on the iPad. The next day I get a 55$ charge. I call the customer service line and they tell me I have to talk to the manager at the front desk. Go back in and the manager tells me he can’t refund the amount I have to call the customer service line. I kept getting the run around! Go back in AGAIN then the person at the front desk tells me that the iPad wasn’t the proper way to cancel and my account wasn’t actually cancelled ….. the worst experience I’ve ever had dealing with a gym/ customer service. Do yourself a favor and don’t get a membership here. I just had to dispute the charge with my bank because NO ONE would help me. 0/5 stars
