I love this gym. It’s always incredibly clean and the staff is SO friendly. I’ve been coming here since they’ve opened and without fail every time I’ve walked in I’ve been greeted with a smile and there’s always something cleaning.
The reviewer below said something about broken equipment, however the reality is that it’s only a few of the MANY treadmills that are broken. All the other equipment is in working condition, some do make some… concerning sounds but they work and that’s good enough for me. For 22 dollars a month I couldn’t ask for more out of a gym

Almost all the machines are broken. It's hard to find a machine that actually works. That's the only bad thing about this gym . Staff is nice and friendly. Place is always clean . Just fix those dang machines.

Planet Fitness in Harlingen is a great gym — clean, spacious, and well-maintained. The staff is always welcoming, and the equipment is in top shape. It’s never too crowded, even during peak hours, and the vibe is super positive. Perfect place to get in a solid workout without any pressure.

Been here for a while, coming from Brownsville since I work in Harlingen.

This place is quite literally a GOOD gym. I’ve been to multiple gyms in the RGV and I’m really impressed to say this place is Clean, Respectful Employees, and Gym Go-Ers are friendly.

Now here’s the kicker. I needed a spot badly since I was gonna do some deadlifts and this wonderful Employee Alyssa (Gym Trainer) that I asked if she could help me got someone to help me and stayed to make sure I was good in health when I was done! 💪💪

AMAZING GYM, BUT MANAGERS/LEADERS PLEASE TURN DOWN THE COOL AC, IT IS COLD IN THERE LAST COUPLE TIMES I WENT IT FEELTS LIKE 70-65 DEGREES, PEOPLE WANNA LOOSE WEIGHT AND BREAK SOME SWEAT ESPECIALLY IN THIS SUMMER HEAT, BUT YOU CANT MUCH WITH AC BLOWING SO COLD AND FANS ON. I love this Planet Fitness! Going in mid day is a great time, always get onto whatever equipment I choose. Staff is nice, love the PF spa hydro massage for my achy muscles!

By far the nastiest most disgusting place I have never want to step foot in! They double charge your account for no reason! And make it extra difficult to cancel you subscription! I have been try to cancel for 3 months now! And they keep blaming the system! I will be filing bc they can’t just keep stealing from me and my 4 children!

Overall, Planet Fitness has been a great facility, and I’ve really enjoyed working out here. The equipment is well-maintained, the staff is friendly, and it’s usually a very welcoming environment.

That said, lately my experience has been impacted by an issue in the 30-minute circuit area. There is one member who has taken it upon herself to “police” the circuit, telling others (myself included) how we should be using the machines and enforcing rules that aren’t posted anywhere in the gym. It’s created an uncomfortable and intimidating atmosphere in what’s supposed to be a judgment-free zone. I’ve even noticed her doing the same thing to other members, which makes me hesitate to use that area at all.

This behavior doesn’t align with the welcoming vibe Planet Fitness is known for, and honestly, it’s making me consider looking for another gym if it continues. I hope management can step in to address this so all members can feel comfortable working out.

A huge disappointment. I was so looking forward to this location opening but I hate going there now. It’s always full of teenagers just hanging out making videos on the equipment. Today I was going to use one of the black card amenities and was told to wait a few minutes in the lobby to let someone else finish. No problem. They then proceeded to skip me and let someone else walk up and go in. I’ll never be back to this location and will be sure to let others know not to go here. The old Harlingen location may not have as much equipment, but the environment and staff are way better.

Edit to reply: If I have to tell your staff to babysit the kids, I’ll just not go there. Train your staff better. If you want me to babysit, you’ll need to pay me. I’ll just go to the old Harlingen location where the staff is awesome.

Planet Fitness is clean, well-kept, and has a solid range of equipment. The staff is friendly, and everything feels organized. However, the one major drawback is the water fountain—it's in serious need of a blue UV light or some kind of filtration. The water tastes off, almost undrinkable, and it's hard to stay hydrated when you don’t even want to sip it.

I absolutely loved this gym when it opened, but it has become a disaster since the summer. The teen program seems like a good idea, but it has caused the gym to have broken machines, weights not being returned, equipment not being cleaned after use, and much more. I am very disappointed and would like the gym not to allow the teens attending to tear it apart.

An important aspect of exercising is, consuming water. Why does your water taste like chlorine? Terrible. Had to pause exercise and went got some water from outside. Couldn’t finish bottle i filled inside.
This was my one day free pass. I looked around to see what others are drinking. The only guys that filled their water bottle there that i saw, had same reaction.

Been going there for a while I see lots of members with bags on the floor and vaping in gym and not wearing tennis shoes I was asked to leave due to having slides I forgot my tennis I felt extremely overwhelmed about it I would like to apologize to the worker but out all the people I get called out use to be my favorite gym need to start looking for another one

It has that new gym smell! It is all new. It is larger than the other planet fitness in Harlingen. They have a lot more equipment than any other planet fitness gyms I’ve seen.
