The customer service at this Planet Fitness location needs serious improvement. A simple “Good morning,” “Welcome in,” “Please,” and “Thank you” can make a big difference, but the front desk staff member consistently shows an unpleasant attitude. If the morning shift isn’t a good fit for her, perhaps a later shift would be better—because greeting members with basic courtesy should be standard.

What was most concerning is that I actually had to address her rude attitude and appearance directly. It’s extremely unprofessional to have a staff member wearing pajama pants at the front desk, and it was uncomfortable having to point this out—especially with her male coworker standing there, clearly embarrassed. It shouldn’t fall on members to remind staff of basic professionalism or hygiene.

I hope management takes this feedback seriously and provides proper training on customer service and professional appearance.

I love this gym the staff are amazing and very helpful, although they do not have security. Right across the street is a hotel full of 10-15 homeless people, you will always see some forensic or ambulance there, plus the homeless people are always roaming around the gym parking lot which is very uncomfortable that's why i stopped coming at 5-6AM now is hard for me to workout. Also i have seen a few homeless use the lockers etc.

Very unprofessional there is a homless lady who stays sleeping in the stalls and had her 2 suit cases 2 bags with her all the time , she washed her clothes in the sink and dryer her clothes in the air dryer which makes the whole bathroom stinks !!! This is so unprofessional I’m not trying to be racist but she is African American she wears the SAME clothes everyday ! There is only 2 changing room and she stays sleeping with a blanket in one of them ! So there be left only 1 changing room and us girls have to wait and share the 1 since she is busy sleeping and does not be considerate , we will be canceling our membership due to this .

I understand not everyone likes to listen to their headphones or whatever at the gym but their music is so intrusively loud at this particular location, i have my own music playing in my ear and i can almost hear it as well as their music.

I’ve been a member here for a few months now and the quality has dropped tremendously. The ellipticals are shaky and only one is usable. A lot of the weight machines and treadmills are also in bad shape. This is unacceptable considering this is a brand new location. It seems they don’t take care or do maintenance on their equipment. I get that it’s only $15 and tax per month but to be so new and have equipment in shambles in just a few months is wild. It’s also hard to get in contact with any one here to let them know.

The Jim is very clean However, when I walked in, there was no one available and when I wanted to do the massage chair, the young man was on the phone for a personal Call I believe, and would not acknowledge the fact that I was standing in front of him very rude unprofessional. Also stated that I would only be able to use it one time however I am a black card member so that’s never been a rule that applies to me

I’m writing to express my concern regarding a recent visit to your facility. I was denied access to the spa area, which I have previously used without issue alongside my guest.

Mr. KD and Isiah informed me that my guest was not permitted to use the spa. When I asked Mr. KD for clarification, he did not provide a clear answer and dismissed my concern. I then requested to speak to a manager and was referred to Isiah, who responded in a similarly dismissive manner. He vaguely stated that if my guest were to be injured, she would be not be “covered,” but did not provide a clear explanation or policy reference. I felt my concerns were brushed off, despite addressing the situation calmly and respectfully.

I also want to raise a concern regarding the enforcement of your current high school summer promotion. I’ve observed several students entering the facility without a guardian, even though the promotion states they must be accompanied. This raises questions about liability in the event of an incident, and I believe it's an important matter that should be addressed for everyone's safety.

After this experience, I requested to cancel my membership. I was surprised by how quickly the manager processed the cancellation, with no effort to address or resolve my concerns. It left me feeling that my experience as a member was not valued.

I hope you take this feedback seriously and use it as an opportunity to improve communication, professionalism, and policy enforcement at this location.

The staff is always welcoming, friendly and professional. The gym is very clean including the women’s locker room. All the workout machines work properly and all the equipment is kept clean and organized. I’m a beginner at the gym I started in March of this year I was very intimidated at first because I had no idea what to do, where to begin or how to any of the equipment in there and I was too shy to ask for help l, but the planet fitness app helped me BIG TIME! Especially the QR codes on the machines that you can scan and it gives you a tutorial on how to use that specific machine, 10/10!! Now I’ve been hitting PRs and my confidence in the gym has skyrocketed.
I’m glad I took the initiative of doing this for stronger, healthier and better self and I’m grateful that I chose Planet Fitness to start this journey. 💜

If I could give this Planet Fitness 100 stars I would.. I want to start with the staff, they are absolutely wonderful and very inviting, nice, interacting, motivating, informative and will help you with any and all needs.. Jay, Isaiah, Zay and Eduardo make my mornings everytime I come in to do my workouts.. The place is super clean, machines are all functional and the temperature is always perfect in there.. I always see everyone in there trying to make a difference on themselves and get healthier.. The Spa Room has massage chairs, red light therapy, tanning beds, cold therapy and my favorite hydromassage.. I've never ever had a bad experience here.. I will continue to come here because it fits me and my lifestyle..

Hubby and I are very excited about the new Planet Fitness gulfgate.. it is very close to where we live and went in for the first time today.. I have to say the staff was very friendly and welcoming.. The new gym is very spacious and had plenty of machines for everyone to use and enjoy.. there was plenty of free weights too.. I really enjoyed my workout today and will be returning very soon..

The Telephone Rd location is great. The facility is always clean. The equipment are always working and clean. If they are not clean, I blame the members, cause the staff is always cleaning and I've seen some members just get up and leave. So I make it a habit to clean the machine before and after I use them. One time the paper towels ran out but before I could say anything, the staff refilled the dispenser. I wish I was good names so i can thank the staff for a great service, especially the young lady who signed me up back in October (I wanna say her name is Abby, sorry like I said I'm bad with names). I was away for about a month due to illness and the young lady welcomed me back. But the whole staff is wonderful. I can't say that enough. Some people complain about the hours but that's the business decision they have. I look forward to my next visit.

This Planet Fitness location is excellent! The staff is friendly and professional, creating a welcoming environment for everyone. I was very pleased.

I've been to quite a few locations and this one was nice
. But way too much going on inside and out parking lot is busy .they aren't 24 hours 🤨🤨🤨 I recently moved and none of the locations are 24 hours I gotta dr to sugar land 🤨 I'm not getting on 59 in 5 o'clock traffic to actually feel comfortable and use the equipment I developed my routine around. I'm probably going to cancel my membership 😕😕 the whole point was so I can meditate shower and relax. Not possible here probably because they close at 9🙄🙄every body rushing to get in and take pictures and sit on they phone before closing 😒

After consistently coming to Planet Fitness (Gulfgate) for a month, management decided to enforce the bag rule and ask me to lock it up because items have gone missing. Although every gym brand and location has a similar rule, it saddens me to know that the gym manager (Dominique) did not handle this situation well. I considered her approach very demeaning and I had no choice but to cancel my membership and try somewhere else. When I started coming to the gym, it seemed like they really wanted our business. Now, this shows me that there’s mistrust in the community. I hope someday they can do better but today, it’s a one star. Best of luck!

Im very dissapointed!

I forgot they were working on this location and happened sooner than expected when I was on an errand and glance over, just to see the building closed.
After checking the comments, I would be heated, too, if I paid the extra fees for registration and the location NOT be 24/7. I pay $27 a month because sometimes I'll take someone with me or If I want to conveniently, hop on a gym on the way of some errands or after work. This is close to my neighborhood and used to go to Scott. I was told ,Telephone, would be 24/7 and to be on the LOOKOUT. Im lowkey frustrated, but too tired to be upset. Planet Fitness is going downhill it seems.

The issues I had were resolved! They hired a male janitor who cleans the bathrooms early in the morning or they are cleaned the night before. I don't run into dirty showers early in the morning or am prevented from showering after working out due to a female cleaning the restrooms. The place has nice equipment. Lots of free weights and smith machines. It looks small but it's actually pretty big. There is just lots of empty space that I'm sure will eventually be filled with new equipment. I am satisfied with everything. Great location, friendly staff, updated hours and great selection of equipment. I due hope that the hours eventually change on the weekends though. I'd like to see them open at 5 on Saturdays and Sundays but I know it's a staff/budget thing. Hopefully more people come to this location so we can get this. 10/10 would recommend 👌

I go early in the morning to start my days off right but there have been times where I can't even put my bag up as soon as I walk in because there is a big sign that says a female staff is cleaning the restroom. Most mornings this isn't the issue. The biggest issue in the mornings is when I'm done with my workout, they decide to clean so I can't shower there, which makes me almost late for work because I have to go home and shower (luckily i live close). In my opinion, the building should be cleaned at night before closing. I don't understand why they clean first thing in the morning as soon as they open. It's like they expect no one to workout in the mornings. I'm not the only one that has this complaint/issue either. I know it's a new facility and people need time to figure things out which is why I don't want to cancel my membership, but if this issue isn't fixed, I'm canceling it.

Oh yeah I forgot. They turn the lights off in the showers at 6:55pm on the weekends, so if you are showering be careful not to trip like I did. Down to 1 🌟

I walked into the gym and met with disgusting glares like, what is this person doing here? I felt uncomfortable and profiled in a no judgment zone based on the gyms values. During my workout, they play music in Spanish. I can see why they are not 24/7. The location is in a sketchy, unsafe area in an old blighted shopping center.

I was so excited about this gym, it opened on my birthday had a cryo lounge! Today is been open for exactly one month and the cryo lounge is already out of service they take weeks to repair things and there's only two gyms in my area with cryo lounge 😅🥲😪the other is across town. My other gave feature is the protein packed sugar free snacks.. Hoping that stays consistent. Also this fun is very diligent with having staff clean machines and common areas but locker rooms could use slightly more attention.

We have been custo.ers with you over 5 years. The training for your employees at this location horrible. The young white women who comes in at 6 am during the week seems somewhat racist and that is unfortunate since the majority of guests would be Blacks and Hispanic.very rude to my wife multiple times... I have not had an afternoon or evening visit yet but my niece and wife had been again back to the rudeness. So.e customer service training should be the focus in you next group meeting. We were super excited to get one closer to home,but would happily drive an extra 15 minutes the enjoy our workout experience.

Brand new location kinda small inside though, but what's up with this planet fitness location? It's not even open 24/7. What a shame or more of a waste of a recognized gym name. It shouldn't even be called planet fitness at all because they are known to be open 24/7. What happened here? This location should be named blink fitness instead, because they have the worst hours of operations just like this location. This place needs to be open 24/7 ASAP, i will probably cancel my membership here. It's just not worth it, hours need be fixed. Just hire an employee to cover the graveyard shift. It’s 7:05 pm on a Sunday and this planet fitness is already closed. There are more than 20 planet fitness locations throughout Harris county, and all of them are open 24/7, a quick search on google maps will confirm this, that all planet fitness locations are open 24/7…. except this location at Gulfgate and the OST location. It’s a damn shame our neighborhood finally got a recognized gym, but we struck out because we got the stingy(cheap) franchise owner who doesn’t want to pay or hire a grave yard shift employee, so the gym can be open 24/7. And the response the owner gives is unacceptable, there is no point in looking for another location that is open 24/7 if this is the closest location to us, why would I have to drive more than 20 minutes to find another location that is open after 7pm on a weekend when I have this location that is within 5 minutes of driving distance. Completely unacceptable and the franchise owner should be ashamed to ever bear or even use the name planet fitness. This location needs to be 24/7, I will be canceling my membership asap

SO I LITERALLY TOOK OFF FROM WORK TUESDAY 15th & WEDNESDAY 16th TO GO TO THE "GRAND OPENING" AND YOU WERE CLOSED!

THEN THE VERY NEXT DAY THURSDAY OCTOBER 17th YOU SEND ME A TEXT SAYING YOU ARE NOW OPENED.
FOR WHICH I CAN NOT GO DUE TO I WORK EVERY DAY INCLUDING WEEKENDS 7am to 10pm. I'M OFF THIS WEDNESDAY SO I'LL BE THERE THIS WEDNESDAY.
BUT UNBELIEVABLE...

How can y’all close at 7 pm on the weekends. Almost all planet fitness are open 24/7, but I guess y’all must be the same franchise owners at the OST location since both locations have the same exact opening and closing time. I will be canceling my membership asap, this is unacceptable.
