First the important thing to get out of the way, my poor rating is not because of the staff at all. They are always kind, and keep the gym clean and happy.
However, this gym is small, totally outdated, and a lot of the people here don’t put their gym equipment away or wipe down their equipment after they are finished. The gym was closed for a few weeks in September promising an “update.” I’m pretty sure all they did was do a deep clean. Because the workout machines are still outdated and have a ton of issues. I am quite literally waiting for my 90 days to be up so I can change gyms.

I've heard from others that this club is the best in the Katy Cypress area. I've found the staff here friendly towards gym goers and the machines kept to the latest compared to other locations around the neighborhood. Tyler is a very knowledgeable trainer in the exercise science arena who's training program is impeccable. Since my time joining Planet Fitness I've seen this trainer bring liveliness to the Barker Cypress club....Way to go PF, keep it up!!! 🥳

The ONLY reason I am leaving a five star review is because of Mrs. Alicia. I no longer live in the state of tx and could not come up to the gym to cancel as I have been told by other team members. Now that the new EOS opened up at 99 & 529 and took a big portion of Planet Fitness’ customers, this location has improved because it’s always so empty on the weekends. It’s perfect. Do NOT use the lockers in the locker room. Just like another person, my locker was broken into and all my stuff stolen at the other Planet Fitness. Police came but nothing was done. Since then, I’ve seen it happen to other people as well so now I never use the lockers unless they’re the ones out in the open.

It's kind of frustrating trying to get a workout in before work, and the gym is full of kids. I pay for my membership and appreciate pf doing the kids a solid, but there should be designated time. That is why i left the YMCA. Im going to try another gym. And the gym upkeep is back to where it was 2 yrs ago.

Customer service is straight TRASH! I requested to use the massage chair and asked if I could please have 20 minutes as all the chairs were open and the gym was not busy, to which he replied just come back and he’ll turn it on. (All the other locations kindly give 20 minutes) I said I don’t want to get up in the middle of a massage to come ask again , and with a very disgusting attitude he told me I was making a big deal out of it. And he’s not the only one who works there who has a horrible confrontational attitude. If you can’t be polite and be of service to people DONT WORK CUSTOMER SERVICE!. And to the manager, you are horrible at choosing employees to hire! Also, I canceled my membership after this interaction and when they asked my reason for cancel I said customer service, on my receipt for cancellation it shows that instead he put into the computer that my reason for leaving was “other” and this was the “assistant manager “. So ya who ever is overseeing this project , just know that your assistant manager is a LIAR.

Everything is great except everytime I come in, the counter lady has a condescending attitude. As a bar manager, she would have a little talk with me in my office. It is a very easy job, just be nice to people or get a cubicle job if customer service is not yours. It is Tues, Jan 10, 3:30pm. More of a reason to blow steam. Other then that, great place. 👍🏼

Solo para reportar a la chica llamada Alicia, fui con mi hijo y me dijo que no podía pasar mi hijo por su edad, el cual le dije que solo estaría sentado en la mesa y me dijo que no podía pasar, entonces entendí y le dije que me ayudara a darme de baja en la membresía por qué no iba a estar dos meses pagando (lo que dura el summer) y ella me ayudó por menos de un minuto, después ya no me ayudó a cancelar se quedó hablando por teléfono todo ese momento y yo ahí parada esperando que ella terminara y en eso sale un niño casi de la misma altura de mi hijo, pero el venía de hacer ejercicio y le dije molesta que porque el si y mi hijo no? I am a black card holder. It literally tells me in the app that I can bring a guest as well as enjoy ALL amenities “TOGETHER”! However when I requested the massage chairs for myself and my guest Herson denied us access. I was completely embarrassed and it was my guests first experience at planet fitness. I asked him could he show me the policy and he said I have nothing that I can show “YOU!” I only have issues at this particular location. I have no issues following any rules or policies but they should be posted or visible in the app so I’m aware any embarrassed in front of a guest who literally was considering joining b4 this incident. This location really needs to fire that female manager (Brittany)they have in the afternoon everyone complains about her!!! Constantly walking around harassing ppl. I have been having issues with her since she began working here. Constantly walking around checking for my small Fannie pack which I keep my insulin in and threatening to cancel my membership if I don’t remove it. This is the 4th or 5th we’ve had an argument in from of other guest about her harassments and threats to cancel memberships. Too many people hogging machines and even after management was made aware they failed to manage the situations continously allowing members to be on their phones for 5-10+ minutes without using the equipment they are on. (More than 1 person and more than 1 equipment). Makes the gym pretty hard to even use.

This planet fitness is not equipped with the same machines as the other ones are. They need to add the same equipment as the others. I change gym because this one is closer to my house. I regret that now. Fry rd and 290 have way better gym. This gym has improved on their equipment and now is the same as the other gym.

I have been coming to this gym for a few years now and it is always nice and clean! I tend to come early mornings and the staff know my face and greet me each time. I have developed "gym friends" who are usually there when I am, and they notice when I am not there!!LOL The hydro-massage and the massage chairs in the spa room come in handy after a good workout!

If you have another planet fitness location near you please go there you won’t like the rude staff you encounter at this location. Brittany has to be the worst of them all. She’s super rude, picks and chooses who she will or won’t harass and when she will or won’t do her job. Case in point my app wasn’t working so I asked her to type in my phone number. Rudely she told me to wait on the app or connect to WiFi. Why when you can type in a cell number. If you have a question about something she never seems to know anything. Instead of running around the gym bother people and being rude she should go work on getting all the broken equipment or TV’s fixed. I literally have to get up and go to the gym at 4am just to avoid this rude minion. I will definitely be canceling my membership because there is no need for me to pay my money to be treated so poor by Brittany daily. Oh and my favorite part is when planet fitness responds to the negative reviews and tells you to come talk to the home manager and news flash it’s the home manager Brittany who’s rude and does nothing.

So I was doing a set and as I finished I was told that I'm no longer allowed to carry my drawstring bag around the gym. When I asked the employee, they told me that there's a "new strict" manager that is being a Krewella Deville. At first I complied because I am a person who follows the rules. I recently visited this location and was disappointed to find that certain areas of the gym, including the spa, did not have functioning air conditioning. The heat made it unbearable to work out, and I was forced to cut my session short.

As a paying customer, I expect a comfortable and safe environment to exercise in. I hope you will take immediate action to address this issue and ensure that the air conditioning is functioning properly throughout the gym and spa.

Until this problem is resolved, I will not be returning to this location.

The Staffing of the entire club is amazing. From morning noon and night the staff is very caring loving and helpful. The leadership of this gym is matchless the manager James has a professional down to earth personality while connecting with guests greetings with smile and welcoming hellos the gym rules are still enforced for the safety of the club and everyone’s peace of mind.

Justin the night time employee has a pleasant understanding nature to him that calms my peace of mind while I’m working out and utilizing the benefits for the black card membership Nicole the assistant manager makes sure the club is ALWAYS clean her professionalism & warm greetings when I walk in always reassures me that I chose the right club to attend Shae is one of the hardest working employees I’ve ever encountered & is extremely knowledgeable anytime I have a question

Some honorable mentions concerning the staff are Kamryn, Tyler, Janae just the entire staff as a whole makes this environment a pleasurable experience. It’s impossible not to feel confident to achieve your health and fitness goals without hesitation all while experiencing ABSOLUTELY NO judgements!

GREAT JOB EVERYONE! The club itself is always FULLY STAFFED, CLEAN & PEACEFUL there’s nothing like coming into a gym having a peace of mind with a great smile and positive attitude from the entire staff! I’m glad I made this a second gym of mine! You are heard, seen and cared for at this location no one skips a beat when it comes to the comforting of the guests who pay great hard working money to come to this particular location. I'm in town for a few days and didn't want to miss my workouts. The gym is big and the black card spa is SO MUCH BETTER than back home in NYC. I wish we had the massage chairs and hydromassage chairs. Four stars because many machines have rust but still seem to work fine. My mind was blown to find out that they are actually 24hrs, they're not 24hrs anymore back home. Staff is very friendly. Didn't go into locker rooms or restrooms so can't speak on it.
