The hours are misleading, they close at midnight on Fridays. Smaller gym but they have a variety of machines. Some employees are very friendly, others have an attitude like they’re mad you’re there? I’ve never experienced this at any other gym. This gym is closer to my house but I signed up for Crunch down the street because they’re actually 24 hours, bigger and the staff is way more friendly. I only go here if I’m on a time crunch.

I canceled my membership a while ago with help from the staff, but apparently they froze it instead without making it clear. This month it unfroze and charged me again. I called right away while it was still refundable, and they kept saying the manager would call me — no one ever did. They dragged it out for a week and then told me it’s “too late” for a refund. Then they tried to blame me, saying they sent an email I didn’t check. I made the mistake of trusting them when they said it was successfully canceled. I sent an email I explained.Very disappointing and unprofessional.

Think twice. Don't use a bank account or bank card that you use to pay your real bills. They will RAM charges through your account, even after you have cancelled your membership. Open a burner account just for PF. Don't give them your real bank account or debit card numbers.

Only location I’ve been to were the cable machines are missing the attaching hooks to use different handles. When I mentioned this to the staff, they said they go missing here often. If that’s the case, there should be addition hooks/pins available-rather than rendering equipment unusable.

I have not been to this planet fitness in over two months due to the rudeness of the staff. I decided to come in tonight and I was so pleased with how I was greeted. Honestly , this planet fitness is small. There’s a lot of people during 4:30-8:00 pm , if you’re looking to workout after work, this location isn’t it, and there’s absolutely no parking. On top of that the desk people are lowkey rude, all machines are taken in the afternoon. The perks of being a member sound nice but if you literally can’t use the gym or utilities because it’s jam packed , there isn’t a point of having a membership here.

In 8/17/25 @ 4:00pm located @8150 south west one of employees was acting unprofessional an African-American male,age 26, she was argued with me telling me to get out , I send complaint to ms.Stacey Caravella -investor Relations, my blood pressure went up and I was running home to take medicine, he doesn’t know how to talked to customers, and I would like to send complaint to ms. Colleen Keating, she had to know that her employees unprofessional, I am 66 years old having health problems but this worker had a terrible attitude, probably he is acting the same with his patients, I will advised him go back to high school to learn something good and like we teach the toddlers to be a nice to customers especially my age . As some others have already mentioned, the layout of this gym makes no sense. There are 20,000 treadmills here that no one ever uses, while at the same time the weights area is tiny and horribly overcrowded.
It is hard to complain too much for the price being charged, but this is one of the poorer planet fitness locations in the city

Standard planet fitness. All the equipment function properly. Layout is a little bit strange. They have a small weight room in a corner. I didn't spend too much time in the locker room, but everything seems to be clean

They open 24 on weekdays which is a huge plus.

Water fountain flow rate is very slow tho. Takes you forever to fill a small bottle.

I just moved here from outta state and out of the 6 ive visited over the last 2 weeks here in houston. this one is the worst. The bathrooms are GROSS. Stink and smell like straight up urine and feces. We keep the mop in one of the bathroom stalls. Hair gum and poop in the middle mens shower ☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️

Also they allow people to SIT ON THE MACHINES AND JUST BE ON THEIR PHONES. They dont walk the damn floor. Even brought it to their attention. When I was here back on 6/24 im not Joking the 30 mins I was on the stairclimber a dude had his waterbottle on the smith machine and was walking around and not working out!!!! So that no one could use it. People on the phone. Talking on speaker

DO NOT buy this membership, they will keep your funds even when they bill you wrong. Their representatives told me to sign up online. If you have an employee sponsored plan know that this way is incorrect. Once I was charged a late fee they refused to refund. I called and recorded the conversation to ensure other customers aren’t burned. It has been forwarded to the better business bureau. Do NOT sign up at this location. There are plenty of others with better service.

My wife goes to this gym and she went in on June 8th, 2025. The bathroom was FILTHY. (Attached photos) She said new management has taken over and the place is disgusting now. I’ve gone there as her guest recently (last week) and staff is never at the desk. The Hispanic lady with dark brown hair is very rude! I think her name is Jules. I pay for her membership and this is highly unacceptable

Gym itself is fine but they have a cumbersome process to login to their WiFi. It prompts for First name, last name , reason, email etc (all required fields) and will accept junk text. So what's the point of putting members through this inconvenience? We can't get our phones to auto-connect and VPN does not activate due to this archaic login process.

The manager - Nyonyah (unsure of spelling) was rude and dismissive of me when I came in requesting to unfreeze / re-activate my account after returning from a trip. She did not try to help even though I was trying to pay money in order to re-activate.

She said she wasn't able to do anything and continually focused on what she was legally required to do or not do, rather than working with me to figure out a solution. When she continued to name that she could not do anything, I requested to speak with the person who is next level up (her manager, maybe the regional manager?). She first talked crap about her manager, saying things along the lines of how her manager doesn't care, she won't do anything, she doesn't do much, etc.

She said couldn't connect me directly and there was no one else I could contact about this but she did say she would send an email to her manager (while repeating that her manager wasn't going to do anything because she doesn't care) and would print out her manager's response to share with me. She said she would call me in 3 days and I could come into the gym to get the print out of the response.

I never received a call from her, I checked in multiple times and she was never in, and the employees who were there or who picked up the phone were dismissive of me. They were not able to connect me to the manager, nor did she ever follow up with me , and were unwilling to let me know when she would be in so that I could speak with her.

The entire experience was incredibly unprofessional. Especially because the claim was that I could not unfreeze my account, even if I was willing to pay for that month and/or pay a prorated amount, and even though there is a whole section in the account freeze contract that clearly states that unfreezing the account and paying prorated membership amount is possible.

During my time at that gym, I had numerous interactions with this manager who always looked uninterested, was unmotivated to support customers, and the employees she is in charge with were not properly trained to be able to handle the machines, the client system, or the amenities available within the black card membership. I was told by employees that they didn't know how to work the machines in the black card lounge with no efforts to figure out the solution to it.

It seems to me this manager is not competent, not properly trained, and is losing Planet Fitness money and customers. Talking negatively about leadership also isn't a great look either for the business.

Very bad experience at this location - I had to change my home gym so that I wouldn't have to deal with her or the others there again. I would like to speak with someone at Planet Fitness corporate about this experience.

there was a guy here at around midnight on 5/6 that literally had his tripod on a bench basically filming half the gym. It was so weird and uncomfortable I thought planet had a no filming policy and the staff was nowhere to be found for the whole 3 hours that I was there.

I came in to signup. I sat here for nearly an 10 minutes. I walked down the walkway for the gym to find someone after calling the phone number on the desk. One of the workers was working out and stopped me and said oh she’s using the bathroom please wait in the front. I then I walked back to the front for several more minutes and called again after a few more minutes..& nothing. I just left because this place is very unprofessional and waist people’s time. BREAKER (see latest photo for detail )

For some reason, the power cage /squat rack were
Moved and spread out.

This causes the area for dumbbells and benches to be even smaller. It was pretty tight before, can’t fit more than 4 people working out there.

Ow it for reduced to MAYBE three and one of those will lack of mirror to correct posture.

We, your customers are cramped in that little space or we are basically waiting for spaces.

This is a major deal breaker, after being since opening I might have to switch to another gym.

Update October 2024:

Looks like some of the employee with attitude are gone. Staff is very friendly so far, they seem to care more about the place.

First time on this gym. Very very clean, hopefully it will stay like this. Decent amount of space, everything brand new.

Staff could be a little more friendly, specially for all their new members and first timers they will be welcoming these upcoming weeks. I literally had to ask someone to give me a quick tour and show me some the place, and offer me a little bit of explanation, even though I am very courteous to them before hand.

I still enjoy it. Put my headphones on, and focus on my thing.

I will update review in the upcoming days visiting a few more days

Update June 11 ‘24:

- Some spaces seem a little cramped, specially where dumbbells are.

- No ankle straps offered.

There is one machine which is quite off (it is defective from factory by 1-1.5 inch at least) and I brought to attention but I was ignored while the employee trying to give me a “lesson” on why he doesn’t use machines.

I have started to find some ball of hairs on the floor, maybe a little more attention on it

I am writing to formally address an ongoing and unresolved issue regarding my Planet Fitness membership cancellation. Despite being assured by the manager—whose name I believe is Anya or Anha—that my membership had been successfully canceled over a month ago, I have now confirmed that it remains active.

What’s more troubling is the lack of follow-through and communication. I have left numerous messages and spent several hours attempting to reach someone directly to resolve this issue. Despite these efforts, not a single call has been returned—regardless of whom I’ve spoken with during prior conversations.

This has become incredibly frustrating and frankly unacceptable. I have done everything that was asked of me to cancel my membership, and I feel that my concerns are being disregarded. It’s disappointing to experience such disregard for customer service, especially from a company that prides itself on being a "Judgment Free Zone."

Unfortunately, I’ve since learned that I’m not alone in this experience. Others have reported similar treatment, and I understand there is now a class action lawsuit forming. I encourage those affected to speak up, as it is clear this pattern of neglect and misinformation must be addressed.

I respectfully request that my membership be canceled immediately, that all charges cease, and that I receive written confirmation of the cancellation as soon as possible.

I sincerely hope Planet Fitness takes this opportunity to address not only my concerns, but the wider issues occurring at this location. Your reputation depends on the integrity and accountability of your staff—qualities that have unfortunately been lacking in my experience.

They apparently close early on nights when their staff have a date or are anxious to get to the club, so weekend nights are unpredictable. Don’t go by hours posted, they get to close when they want and they do it by turning the lights off no matter how many people are inside the gym still working out. Worst location in Houston. Looking forward to Crunch Fitness opening up down the street at Kirkwood and Westhiemer.

I arrived at planet fitness at 10:20pm. People were standing outside and asking why they were closed. A lady was outside and she was very upset because she was actually locked inside of the building. The manager apparently had a date.Per what the lady told me that was locked inside the building. There was a man sweeping by the front door and I said it is not midnight. He shrugged his shoulders and walked away. Other customers showed up standing at the door and I told them they apparently closed. I just signed up tonight. I was excited to go, and this was my first experience with your establishment. If this was due to safety issues or a health hazard, they should have posted a sign at the front of the door stating why they closed way before their time. They should also take down the decal that states open 24 hours 5. I even called before I arrived. Hopefully, my next experience is a better. Before canceling, I will transfer my service to a different location. If it's much of the same, then I will cancel my membership. Not a good first impression. And for the people standing outside getting out of work, that was not okay. And please do not tell me to contact management. Because it's obvious that management made that decision to close without notifying the customers inside the building, nor out who already checked in via mobile app.

VERY UNPROFESSIONAL & RUDE! The staff turned the lights out at 10pm in the gym. The gym was supposed to close at 12am. They decided that they wanted to leave early & turned out every light on the facility. I was in the shower when they turned the lights off without warning! They didn’t announce an early closure or let us know that we had to leave immediately! This is extremely distasteful & unprofessional! Everyone in the gym was upset . We had to scramble in the dark to get our belongings. The front desk could have let us know when we came in that the gym would close early. This is unacceptable and pathetic. The crew should be fired immediately!!! I’ll never come back to this gym & I will be contacting corporate.

Did a late night/early morning workout to try this gym out compared to my home gym on Fondren. It's a bit smaller, machines placed closer together, but spaced enough to not feel cramped. The other workout and stretch rooms are spacious and plenty of room to move around. Main reason I wanted to try this location is because they have the recovery lounge. The cold part of it, is friggin FREEZING. it's like your sitting on a block of ice. The heat aspect, was a let down. The heat, on the hottest setting, felt more like the warmth of sitting in a chair after 10 minutes. Maybe that needs some adjusting, hoping that's not how it's supposed to be. But all in all, a decent gym for what Planet Fitness offers. Yeah there's a lot of cardio equipment, but that is their focus for the type of gym they are. If you want a gym with fewer treadmills, go pay double and triple the price somewhere else.

La localidad excelente pero en cuanto a su normativa de membresía una ridiculez total. Pedí que cancelaran mi membresía a principios de diciembre porque me mudé de estado, DE ESTADO, y por ende en donde estoy no hay sucursales de Planet Fitness, por lo que me dijeron que sí que no había problema en cancelarla pero que se me cobraría el mes de diciembre… el problema principal no es ese, el problema está que ME SIGUEN COBRANDO por una membresía que supuestamente me cancelaron. This has been one of the most infuriating and disappointing experiences I’ve ever had. I’m absolutely furious about what happened. The employees outright lied to me, claiming I could freeze my account instead of canceling because I was moving, and that I could simply unfreeze it once I settled in my new city. This was a complete and utter lie.

Now, I’m miles away, and the incredibly rude and condescending team member I spoke with over the phone informed me that the only way to unfreeze my account is by showing up in person. This is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. I am beyond angry at the lack of accountability, the blatant misinformation, and the dismissive attitude from your staff. This entire experience has been a nightmare, and the level of incompetence and disrespect is shocking.

Manager is rude, I missed one payment by 4 days the manager walks over in mid workout after the employee told me go ahead and finish. I said let me finish and ill be right over. She starts yelling you have no access I said when I'm done I'll pay it. She said you have to leave you have no access. Getmanagers with proper customer service skills. She needs to be replaced.

One of the worst experiences I’ve had in a while. I’ve used Planet Fitness for YEARS and I’m honestly so upset by what happened. The employees there lied to me and told me that I could freeze my account instead of canceling because I was moving, then I just could unfreeze it when I got to my new city. This is not true. Now I’m hours and hours away and the extremely rude team member I spoke to on the phone said the only way I can unfreeze is in person or through certified mail which is insane. Y’all were the ones who told me I could freeze and unfreeze in the first place! The person on the phone was so condescending and rude I’m so upset about all of this. So I’m either going to have to pay money for certified mail on the off chance they even actually action it and unfreeze or cancel me, or pay for a plane ticket to go all the way back to Houston just to deal with this. Absolutely insane

Travel nurse from Houston I’ve been to planet fitness in 23 states ..so many towns/cities I’ve seen immaculate& disgusting

This gym is nice and big and clean for the most part however

OWNER needs to stop being so cheap & invest in seat covers /or place disinfectant & paper towels to wipe down toilets & spray down showers in other gyms and also place hand sanitizer in or before you enter the locker rooms as other gyms. I’ll continue to teepee the toilet seat prior to sitting women are dirty /nasty . I promise you I’m not the only person doing so and I’m sure the men that are clean teepee the toilet as well …STOP BEING SO CHEAP OWNER

Working with people can become stressful, especially in a customer service environment. The best times to come is during the morning time around 6am-11am or the afternoon between 12pm-2pm. The place is always clean and If you are polite then the staff will be polite. The lady at the front desk is so nice and professional. The gym is great and I hope to visit again soon with a membership. The new locations are super clean compared to other non-high end gyms in general, but most locations are clean and make you feel judgementally free as well as not judged. Great prices on gym gear and lockers are made with built in locks. Great amenity.

I always have a great experience here. When I walk in the manager, Britney always greets me with a smile. I take advantage of the free training classes, and im definitely seeing results. I loved my time here at this gym today. Brand new location so everything is brand new and clean. There weren’t many people there from 10-12 pm. Staff is friendly, welcoming and helpful. FYI if you have a classic membership and this isn’t the gym you signed up at.. you will have to pay a $5 franchise fee for the day. I will be going to my home gym to transfer to this one!!
