Everyone at this gym is for the most part friendly except your manager. She is never to be seen and when as a member has had an issue it’s almost impossible to get a return call. I’ve called several times and left a message with the same staff member about my account and nothing. Yet I make a trip up to the gym and of course the manager isn’t there and was told no one has heard from her and she was expected in and nothing. There’s no customer complaint number as well. The way she treats members when addressing them is condescending and arrogant. She has an authority mannerism and a stuck up demeanor anytime a possible interaction occurs. She is always having to be gotten from the office as it seems she is always in there and not available to the members when situations come up. The staff members walk around in a funk when she is there. I’ve been coming to this gym for almost a year and I’ve seen the high turnover rate. As a whole this gym could be ran better with someone who actually acts like she likes her job. I’ve personally witnessed her almost as if she was hungover walking around the gym as well swaying as she walks. I’ve heard her yell at a guest and threaten to cancel their membership because he questioned her about why she is always picking on their group. As a whole I’m disappointed in this gym and the way it is being ran. I feel sorry for the employees who work here. 2 weeks ago the gym had an uplifting vibe and asked why everyone was so happy this week and was told” she isn’t here” That’s really sad when she ruins the mood.
She the manager never looks happy and is always in a bad mood and her relationship with us members is none. The gym is clean sometimes but other times it’s lacking supplies it needs. This gym wonders why so many of us have gone to EOS and honestly it’s because of the manager, but I guess your company likes losing members due to management. Do better

Why offer perks and you can’t honor them.

Referred a friend in August, they joined…. Do I get my month credit in September, nope they said October (fine) … still no credit. Each planet fitness I visited sent me back to this location where I signed up….

Then it was the multiple visits during the specific times I needed to be there for manager.

Now manager is worthless and can’t help because it’s a corporate thing. Multiple calls later, still nothing.

Lately little to no paper towels … stop offering perks you can’t freaking honor.

Over this franchise.

Looking for new gym including friend/referral
They want me to try again after multiple visits and multiple unreturned phone calls.

Please think about rental lockers! Love this gym, but I reallllly wish there were rental lockers, so I don’t have to lug my stuff around on the days I work. Very clean and maintained with many machines. People are courtesy and rack their weights and clean up after themselves. The locker room is pleasant to get ready in. I’ve looked at a few other gyms and always come back to this one. The only thing that would make it perfect is a rental lockers!

I guess I’m spoiled to the wonderful attention and friendliness of the steeplechase pf staff. The lack of friendliness and disconnection to the client at this location is beyond what I thought was possible. It’s like walking into an unmanaged anytime fitness ONLY worse. Here, you are actually ignored and they don’t make eye contact with you. Whether on their phones, talking to each other or all leaving the front to go do chores (so you have to find them, then be asked to wait until they finish what they are doing),
Maybe I don’t understand their jobs or like I said at the beginning, I am spoiled to the location that focuses on making the clients feel welcome. For me, it’s like they have never been a customer before and don’t know how to treat people with recognition and engagement. We see you every day!!!!
This PF is not no judgement, it’s you don’t existent and they don’t care if you come back.
I can’t wait for steeplechase PF to open back up.

And from the owner's response below, it is the customer's responsibility to chase down a manager to share my thoughts. I don't even know who this is.....how is this the customer's
responsibility? You can see your people on their phones and not engaging with people, why should I have to point it out? CRAZY!!!

Update: an amazing transformation! all the employees are engaged with the Clients coming in and leaving. No more telephones taking their full attention. So much better. Everyone is smiling, both behind the counter and on the other side of the counter. 😁 thank you to the owner and staff for making this wonderful transition!

Don’t fall for their referral scam. They don’t actually give any referral bonus. I referred my cousin, he joined, and we followed all the steps using the referral link. In the end, I even called their support for verification on why I hadn’t received the bonus. They claimed my friend didn’t use the referral link even though I completed the process myself to confirm it. This app must have some kind of glitch, but that doesn’t justify breaking the promise. Poor management and customer handling.

I like PF gyms. They are easy and convenient to get to and the ease of getting on a treadmill without a wait. My low score is for the front desk staff. The newer people in the front are not attentive or friendly at all. They are looking down on their cell phones 99.9% of the time. Management should hold customer service meetings with them to make sure they are equipped to do the job.

Yesterday 6/1/25 was just the icing on the cake. I’ve come at different times to get in a workout. Night time….. machines dirty, bathrooms unkept, staff sitting on the counter on his phone. Morning crew is very pleasant and helpful. Afternoon… you can NEVER address the manager with issues or problems and don’t think you’ll get a return call back cause I’m still waiting on one from 2 weeks ago. Appointments scheduled with a trainer I show up and no ones there. Then today 12:00 noon the gym is locked and closed. WTH. SERIOUSLY.

Sitting in the parking lot since 4:00am on Monday morning it is now 5:05 and the doors are locked. Opening hour on Monday is 4:00am. Not a good way to do business or treat your customers.

This is a follow up to the post above. It has been a few weeks and the issue has worsened. There have been at least five or six times the gym has not been open on time. 5/25/25 not open again so I went to grant road gym worked out then went back after 7 and still not open. What is the point of paying for a gym membership that is never open. You have a serious personal issue or maybe it’s the owner. The last time I wrote a text addressing this issue the owner told me I needed to talk to the manager. Sorry that’s not my job that’s your job. This owner does not care about his patrons other wise he would address this issue. I know several fellow members feel the same way.

I have no complaint about the gym itself, it’s very neat and well maintained, it’s new! However, I canceled my membership due to the gym being out of my way coming from work. I canceled the membership on April 15 and they still withdrew the monthly fee on April 17th 2025. I tried to get a refund but nobody ever got back to me, I called multiple times and the staff kept just telling me the manager it’s not in. I tried to get corporate phone number to see if they could help me get a refund but staff never provided me with a phone number, it’s disappointing.

I recently joined this location only cuzI can workout late at night, my first few days I was really happy cuz they have all the equipment that I needed but then came the freeze, they had the AC blowing high n it blows right off n your head which made me sick, I informed at the front desk, they said they can’t do nothing about it, its under the management, so I asked if they could inform the manager, they said ok, it happened again few times n today I left the gym in middle of my workout, management doesn’t care if u r coming to the gym to sweat or if u get sick, it’s a shame that now I have to look for another place that is close to my house where I can workout, this place is definitely not for older crowed, thanx to the management!

This gym is a great place to workout. The facility is clean and the staff is helpful. If you're some fat slob who's out of shape and can't breath after walking up a flight of stairs you should join this gym. You can shower after your workout and head strait to the bar! The best thing about this gym is the bars in the vicinity. You can workout and be inside a bar knocking back cold ones and conversating with cool people within 5 minutes! It's awesome!

The GM at this location is very unprofessional when dealing with customer issues instead of fully understanding the issue happening on the side of the customer she acts like she's the be all know all. I explained that I wasn't properly notified through my banks or the PF app that my bill was due YES I signed a contract and should know when my bill is due but I'm not a robot and PF isn't the only bill I pay every month and as a single household its not easy keeping track of all your bills especially when in the past year things like the passing of your significant other, hospital bills due to an accident, etc has occurred throwing the whole routine off. She tried to throw in my face that Pf refunded me money for past due balances when I was a member in Jacksonville, FL and to be completely factual here I didn't ask for that I received an email that PF was WILLING to forgive my balance (NOT REFUNDED...FORGIVEN) so that I could become a member again so before she even tried to fully comprehend my situation she decided to throw things in my face she has no knowledge of I didn't beg or ask PF to do that then she tried to explain she's 30 she's worked at a bank before etc etc all to disregard the fact at hand which is being properly notified which is still a responsibility of the company so that customers know when to pay because as stated you don't know what customers are dealing with instead she acted as if PF is my only bill. She kept over talking me and speaking to me like Im a child i travel for work and help a friend run a business so I'm sorry for not being as perfect as she made herself seem to be. What I will be doing is transferring my membership so that that location will no longer receive my money!!! No longer contributing to your check talking down on me like that after I kept it cool calm and collected with you learn how to be professional and stay on topic instead of bringing up your age and previous professions and my past dealings with PF that wasn't with a franchise PF might I add since you're so smart. Not one time through the whole conversation did i ask for a refund or reimbursement and I feel that's why she was as unprofessional as she was all I wanted to know is why the PF app didn't mention I had a balance due until next month and why didn't none of my banking apps show any attempted charges when it always does.

I have really tried to give this particular location a chance. I don’t know which one is worse, the members or the employees. It’s bad enough when the people that are supposed to be focused on their workouts are focused on me . I’m constantly being stared at and followed around as if I can’t see what’s going on. The employees have nasty attitudes and everytime my husband and I move to a different area here comes the same employee slamming stuff and walking around us. Maybe she should’ve spoke rather than walking around with a scowl on her face. If she doesn’t like her job, that’s not the members problem. So we’ll continue to go to other locations or our home gym. We’ll probably end up canceling again, besides we have another membership at another gym anyway. I’ll never understand people that work with the public that have the nastiest attitudes . And I’m not looking for a response because nothing will get done anyway, I’m just warning people that want a peaceful workout. After recently retiring from work I began to notice my body losing some muscle mass and strength. I needed a place to exercise and noticed Planet Fitness opened a new location in Lakewood Forest. I stopped in and was given a tour. The facility is brand new so everything is clean and nice. There is a huge selection of equipment to choose from. All the staff have been exceptionally pleasant and helpful. I enjoy the recovery lounge with the massage chairs following your workout. I felt like the amenities offered are a good value for the price. There are no contracts or deceptive fees. So far my experience here is very positive and I look forward to utilizing the club to help maintain my health.

I joined this gym when they opened in this location because they are right next door to our shop. I haven't worked out in a gym setting in a veeery long time. The location is clean and well organized. All of the staff are very friendly. Trainer Zac B. is the best trainer I have worked with. He is always upbeat and motivating. He is extremely knowledgeable and conscientious about is clients needs and limitations. He is a true gem! Please do whatever it takes to keep him happy so he will stay at this location!

The gym itself is nice, but the individuals that work there is a different story. This gym is too new to have employees with bad attitudes and bad energy. They stare at you more than the people that actually workout. IF I were to give them the same energy, I guarantee they'd have an issue. I make sure I limit my visits to this location. I'll never understand people with the easiest jobs have the worst attitudes. Most of the time they're just huddled up talking and playing up front anyway.

Of all the planet fitness's I've been to, this one tops them all. They have a cryo bed, they have a variety of different equipment, and they are large. The staff is amazing, and the manager is WONDERFUL. If you have any issues she's on top of it.
If you find something maybe not working right and you tell her- she is quick to get it fixed because she takes pride in this location. She wants it to be the best and wants everyone that walks in the door to enjoy it.
You aren't just a number for her gym, she looks at everyone as a person and puts herself in our shoes and knows we want working things and if you bring up something maybe to add to the gym she loves ideas. By far one of the best planet fitness's.

This is my new gym I waited for them to open and I am highly impressed. The equipment is new and clean, it’s not too packed when I go, the people in the front are pleasant but not really overly friendly people, the machines are running well, the black card spa area is nice as well as the women locker room.
