Couple things:

1/ Be careful with some unknown people hanging out in the parking lots, they look suspicious and you have to watch out for yourself if you are female.

2/ I left my stuffs in the locker room, they cut the lock, threw all my stuffs away, my shoes, crocs, hair blow dryer, etc… I wish they at least put them in the box so we can get them back. Not very cool at all.

This planet fitness is more than what meets the eye. Form the outside I wouldn’t dare stop here but I was on a ride trip and desperately needed a massage. Upon coming inside I was met with the most gorgeous young lady pretty smile and welcoming attitude Derricka she is absolutely LOVELY & so warm and welcoming !

Because of her wonderful customer service I decided to come back again and again (in the daylight of course I wouldn’t dare go at night!) Not to workout but get massages! On my second arrival I came across Alyssah she was such a delight as well she even helped me with my outfit that day 🎀 make done so pretty and lovely as well

Then I loved her so much I came back AGAIN na encountered the true light of the show SAMMIE he is hilarious and kept me laughing and smiling the entire time I was there

They are not their location and I would highly recommend them to any staff! Some homes me tins are are Haley & Jennifer so pleasant as well!!!

This location is unsafe, and I would never recommend it—or any Planet Fitness—to anyone.

My locker was broken into, and Planet Fitness did nothing to address it. I later realized the individuals were already inside the locker room when I entered, before they broke in. Immediately after the incident, I asked to speak with the manager, but the staff member refused to provide his contact information or call him. No incident report was filed, and when I finally spoke with the manager the next morning, it was obvious he had not even been informed.

There was no follow-up after the incident. When I raised concerns about the impact of what had happened and their responsibility to address it, the manager assured me he would connect me with the right contact, but he never followed through. He ignored multiple attempts to reach him, even after I submitted a written copy of my concerns.

At this location, anyone can walk into the locker rooms unaccompanied simply by claiming they want to check out the gym for a membership.

On top of that, staff members are often seen working out while on duty instead of restocking cleaning supplies or attending to members.

Planet Fitness has been a complete disappointment. I made a good-faith effort to communicate with this location’s management and even contacted corporate through their website. They chose to ignore me. This experience showed me that Planet Fitness does not take member safety or accountability seriously. I will never do business with them again.

*update*

I followed up with the social team at Planet Fitness, and they said “I’m sorry this happened to you” with no plans to follow up with the facility to address the safety concerns, or make amends for the situation. This empty, half hearted “I’m sorry” has been the consistent, go-to response at all levels. You’re not safe at this location. They won’t even call the cops if anything happens to you, they’ll ask you to do it, because that’s how useless they are.

There are better options for gyms in this area. Avoid PF.

Walked in to use the gym last Sunday 09/14 and after checking in I was stopped by the gym staff at the front desk. I was told I cannot use my jump rope in the gym that its too small.

To say I felt unwelcome would be an understatement. What is the free section of the gym for? The boot camp area section of the gym with kettle bells etc.

I was told they gym is too small for me to use my jump rope in. It was a bad experience and definitely keep going to the allen location.

This should be communicated out to gym members. Would have saved me the trip.

To be clear I did not bring in my jump rope. I took it back to my car then came back in to workout. Felt demoralized, way to go PF

They either won't fix the AC or just don't care and keep it too hot in this location. Also its dumb you have to go to an employee to get access to black card areas instead of just scanning your code. Half the time the front employees are not even up there. Looking fwd to my year being over.

I am so grateful Texas Family Fitness closed which led me here. This is an amazing gym. Kirk, the manager is so kind and extremely helpful and so fun. On the night of July 19 going into July 20, between 11:59 p.m. and 12:06 a.m., I had just finished my workout and asked the only staff member working—a female employee—if machine #1 was working. She was on the treadmill at the time. When I politely asked, she responded with an irritated “MAYBE, let me check,” then sighed, shook her head, and acted very dismissive for no reason.

I didn’t raise my voice or come at her with an attitude—I simply asked a question. Another member nearby even saw the whole thing and later told me, “She’s crazy,” which says a lot.

I don’t understand how someone working at Planet Fitness can act so unprofessional over a basic part of their job. If helping members is part of your role, why respond with disrespect when someone asks for help? Very disappointing experience.

Tried to get a membership this afternoon. Was told I needed to speak to a manager, which is fine.

Kirk Butler was in a meeting but said he’d assist me in 5 minutes so I waited. Then was approached by another team member explaining for me to sign up I needed to speak with a manager. I explained Kirk said 5 minutes- I was then told Kirk was no longer available. No reason given even after I explained I had already spoken with Kirk. Was told- sorry and to come back another day.

Was also told managers work from 8-5 usually. I looked at my watch and explained I was here now at 3:15pm but I am unable to sign up- would it be different tomorrow. The team member had a confused look on his face and said “I don’t know”.

I joined Planet Fitness, and it is one of the best decisions I have made in a while. I knew that I needed to start exercising and lifting weights, but I had no idea where to even start. One of the things that attracted me to Planet Fitness was the fact that if you sign up for their Black Card membership, the chance to work out with one of their trainers is included. Enter Sammie, from the first day I stepped into the club Sammie welcomed me and was ready to get started with a plan for my work outs. I have been working out with him every weekday in a group setting (2 to 3 people) and he has been a great partner and trainer for all of us.

The club is very clean and all the people that work there are super friendly. Mark in the front desk has provided excellent customer service every time I have been there. I definitely recommend this club in McKinney if you are ready to take your fitness to the next level.

I have been a member of Planet Fitness for over 10 years and have used over 15 of their locations as I travel, and this PF club in McKinney TX is the best. It is the roomiest, with plenty of equipment to work out. While the staffs at all the PF locations have been good - the club manager Kirk and his team here in McKinney, including Gabby and Mark are super professional and easy to chat with if I have any questions.

Never have hot water.
Asked about there being no hot water and was flat out told they turned it off because too many people were using it.
Nobody is allowed to cancel membership. Cant remove card or bank from system. Going to various locations asking to cancel never works. Calling corporate doesn't work. Sending the letter doesn't work. My bank won't block the charge. No matter what you will have to close your bank account to stop paying. Can't downgrade membership. Can't use the black card for a guest like you're supposed to be able to.

This place is absolutely amazing, they give my husband and I a great deal and have been very accommodating with all of our needs. They waved a month fees and the menagar and the personal are very attentive. Wow - I am blown away by the way the manager here (Kirk) handled a correction I needed. Due to job loss back in December, I came in to cancel my membership. I was told by the person working that they made a note and my last payment would be December (last day to use the gym would be mid-January). I assumed this was done. However, I was charged for both January and February thereafter. I tried to go in to speak with a manager in February but there wasn’t one available at the time. (You are required to physically go in to cancel - no problem). I then noticed today that I was also charged for March and April. I called customer service and asked when a manager would be in - they let me know. I showed up and explained everything to Kirk. He was empathetic and understood why I was requesting the refund. He patiently helped to properly cancel my account. He refunded me for the full 4 months. I made sure to tell him that my experience as a member was very positive!! No complaints about the facility or staff. He told me when I am gainfully employed to come back and he would assist me personally. Excellent customer service - thank you again Kirk for listening, understanding and making the correction!

This is by far the nicest Planet Fitness my wife and I have been to and this will be our new home club. We live less than 2 miles from another Planet Fitness and can be there in 5 minutes but it was recently renovated from a Texas Family Fitness and made into a Planet Fitness and it seems like they just slapped some PF stickers on the equipment and knocked down a wall or two but that is it. Also, the smell in the one that is 5 minutes from our house was pretty bad and it did not get better as we worked out. The extra 10 minutes that it takes to get to the McKinney location off of I-45 is well worth it. Clean gym, lots of equipment choices, and overall great gym. As a previous gym owner, it is great to have an affordable option not to far from our home. We can’t do the $10 gyms because of how overcrowded they are and some of the business practices they engage in is akin to fraud in our eyes. When we owned our gym, if someone came in to cancel, we would cancel it on the spot. Making someone write a letter and mail it in, and then continue to charge that person for months after they sent the letter and were told it was canceled, is definitely fraud and I am surprised the department of justice has not been involved to take action against some of these gyms. It is pitiful and sad a large corporate gym has to stoop to fraud and continue to steal money from folks that jump through hoops to cancel a membership only to be defrauded of money for months or sometimes years after they went through the ridiculous process of cancelling. With technology today, to make someone write a letter and mail it in to cancel something that can be done in 30 sec on a computer is most likely a system rigged to say “we did not receive your letter or it was lost and we found it months later” to have a “reason” to take money out of someone’s account long after they cancelled it. Not “believed” they cancelled it but did cancel. Sorry for the rant but it has always pissed my wife and I off when we see these reviews on some gyms sites.

I have had twice when a lady comes into the locker room to take out trash when I am naked. There is no sign but she is on a mission to replace trash in the men’s locker room. I even told her once can I get privacy and she puts a sign at the men locker room that stated female cleaning…..What ownership would allow men employees go into woman locker rooms and female employees go into male locker rooms. This is a true story so please watch out for your little ones if you invite them into this planet fitness!

I especially appreciated how spacious the gym is there’s plenty of room to move around, even during peak hours. It never felt crowded or cramped. Overall, Planet Fitness offers a great environment for anyone looking to get a good workout in a clean and welcoming space. Highly recommend!

Every thing so far. I would make one suggestion, keep an eye on people who wear a vest, sun glasses and a bright orange cap that doesn’t work out on any machine. He just nervously walks around looking suspicious. The employees should question this guy. I personally don’t feel safe with him there and I have seen him several times acting in the same way.

We go to the McKinney, TX location and it is great! The staff is so nice and the facility is always so clean. And all the things that are offered for such a reasonable and affordable rate are great! Not many things are affordable these days, but PF is!!

First visit at a PF, I joined today! I was very impressed for a lower cost gym. The staff were amazing! Super welcoming, knowledgeable, great customer service. Special shoutout to KY who helped me with my membership & showed me around, very polite gentleman thank you KY. The gym was clean, layout is great, equipment is user friendly & up to standards compared to a higher priced gym. The extra amenities the black card membership offers is cool, I’m excited to try. Good job PF McKinney!

Unfortunately due to a medical emergency and injury I was never able to use my membership. I called membership services and they informed my I had to go in person to cancel. I am bed ridden in another state 15 hrs away at the time and cannot do so so I contacted the club directly. The associate I spoke to cancelled my account and even waived the fee. I was told I’d get a refund as soon as the manager came in to approve it, and they’d call me back. I get in the phone with them again around 4:30 Eastern time to go through an associate, a manager, and then to the GM MR KIRK BUTLER is what he went by. He tells me I’ve sadly been misled ands he won’t issue the refund that his employee told me he would issue do to the circumstances. He was dismissive and declined. He refused to give me anything other than his managers name and told me he supported me doing whatever I felt necessary to get a refund that he has authority to give but would escalate it himself via email and hung up. It doesn’t make sense. In addition refusing to honor what membership services and his own employee said was honorable he has poor customer care. I have been told that I will receive contact back from Julie Carney-Ayala within 24hrs about my refund. I have been sent back and forth since this AM between customer service and the club and the only person stating anything different is this jerk.

I will be canceling membership . Lady at front desk when I asked her to go to tanning room 2 replied with a disrespectful what answer like she didn't believe that I wanted to get a tan amd laughed right in my face. Felt so embarrassed and didn't even want to tan anymore. Hope nobody goes through that kind of treatment from a judge free gym
