Imagine paying the highest membership planet fitness can offer just because you’re from out of state and you visit the gym more than 10 times they want you to pay a “franchise fee”of $5 and some change every time you want to work out on top of the membership fee that you already pay monthly isn’t that ridiculous?!! I asked them how can I solve this? They tell me to log into my account and switch it over to midland as my home gym which you really can’t do the only thing you could do is cancel the whole membership and make a brand new one and register to this gym as your home town gym. Or the other option would be I would have to go to the Odessa planet fitness drive 30 minutes scan there and then when I come back, I’ll be good which they really didn’t confirm It was a “maybe” I really did five workouts. The limit is 10 times the other five times I stopped by the gym just to go use the bathroom didn’t even work out, but I scanned every time I explained that to Front desk the evening shift terrible customer service not willing to work with me like there’s no way to override that at all like I’ve been a loyal member to planet fitness for over 10 years + I’m a guest in your city, you guys want hustle so money out of me I’m probably here for another three days to four days Im coming to the gym while I’m traveling, trying to better myself and work on my health and that’s how y’all treat me yall expect me to pay 20 bucks like come on that’s like a month membership!!

Overall I love the gym but the thing I dislike the most is once my card doesn’t go through I try to call to pay over the phone and they never pick up. The app also never lets me make a payment the day off billing so that needs to be fixed because paying the late fee every month for y’all’s mistake is getting old very quick

Busy meter isn’t really accurate. Most machines could be taken and meter says its under half full. Most thread-mills have a grove on the one side from the wheel that spins the the floor and it’s uncomfortable to use them. Smith machines are always busy, I believe they only have 4. Haven’t tried any of the spa machines so they might give a better experience. 2/3 faucets in the the restroom don’t work. Good gym but for being the only pf in almost 40mi, everything should be in working condition.
Staff here does a great job on maintaining the facility clean.

I frequent the Midland dr location. The staff keeps it clean it does get packed but all gyms have spurts. Equipment 95% in good order. Always some pieces down. One thing that is needed is more carabiner for machines and attachments.

This is the best PF I've been to and I've been to quite a few in many states now. It's enormous. Plenty of equipment and several of each machine type. Plenty of Black Card Spa amenities as well. The locker rooms are spacious and well laid out. Plenty of showers and plenty of hot water. It's one of the cleanest I've been to. No waiting in line for the urinals or toilets either. I couldn't find a single piece of equipment worn down or out of order. Nice staff as well. Two thumbs way up. Good job Midland Texas PF.

Wow, just wow. I have Been a member of Planet Fitness for years!!! And I have never experienced customer service like that. I understand Midlands customer service isn’t the greatest, but that was just unbelievable. Went up there and asked for a tanning bed and I have never received so much backlash and attitude. Crystal is her name and I found out she is a trainer?!?!?!? When I asked for a tanning bed her response was “EXCUSE ME?!?” With the most foul look on her face as if I just ran over her dog or something, and then her next response was “only have stand ups” as she crossed her arms. I don’t understand what the reason was for the attitude and dirty looks talking to me like I’m some child. Just asking for a small thing that comes with my black card membership. Wow, just wow I will be canceling my membership ASAP and never returning to Planet Fitness. That was just ridiculous. This happened to me earlier in the day, and I can’t stop thinking about it, Disgusting interaction. I hope you guys fire this person “Crystal” immediately so no one else has to experience that, she obviously doesn’t want to be there! And after reading some of the other reviews I notice Crystals name comes up often. Time to let her go! I can’t believe I have stuck with this gym for all this time to be talked to like that. Gross!

Was here on 2/19/25 during lunch time. Someone by the name of Crystal attended to me, apparently against her will. As soon as I walk in, I felt very unwelcome by the sudden eye roll. I felt I was bothering and being a nuisance by asking questions. I was left with a very bad impression about this location. She was very unpleasant with other people walking in and other employees constantly rolling her eyes. I’ve only expected better from Planet fitness but I’m guessing their standards have done down to mediocre. Other employees have been very helpful always and willing to Help. Needless to say, I’ll be taking my business elsewhere as well as my employees for gym memberships.

The bathroom was dirty and the hydro machine didn't work properly and over half the treadmills were broken. Staff was not even available so anyone could just come in and use the gym. Poor practices. People obviously don't care if they get sick because they weren't cleaning equipment after use. Kids used equipment improperly. I'm glad I'm from out of town because my planet fitness has someone constantly cleaning equipment and our equipment is all in service.

I go when it's not packed because when it's packed....it's very difficult to get on a smith machine because most of the women seem to only work out their lower body and they will stay on it for over an hour. I've only taken the time to write two reviews in my entire life. The first one I wrote was for phenomenal, blow-your-hair-back customer service. This one, on the other hand, is for the most deplorable customer service I've ever experienced.

On Wednesday, July 3rd, I finished working out in the evening, at approximately 5:45 PM, when the gym is at its busiest. As I was passing by the front desk to exit and retrieve my shower bag from my car, a "sketchy" guy entered (and, I hope that my use of the word "sketchy" is politically correct enough for PF). This guy strolled by the front desk and said, "Hey, I'm going back here to use your bathroom." He wasn't there to workout; he didn't have anything with him; he was wearing street clothes; he didn't check in with a phone; nor did he even ask if it were okay for him, as a non-member, to use the restroom.

After I retrieved my shower bag and made my way back into PF to take a shower, I saw the sketchy character lurking in the area where the sinks are. He and I were the only two people in the bathroom at the time. He saw me take note of him, so then he retreated back to where the lockers are, and still, he was watching me from there.

Looking back on the situation, this is when I should've reported this guy to the front desk. I guess I thought I was being self-defensive enough by taking my entire shower bag with me into the shower. But then, as I was taking a shower, I heard the guy talking (apparently to himself), right outside of my shower curtain! I slightly opened the curtain, stuck my head out, and eyeballed the guy, and then he walked away. Then, a few minutes later, he was there again, outside of my shower, talking again. I felt like I was living in Alfred Hitchcock's famous scene from "Psycho."

When I exited the shower, the transient guy was still hanging out in the locker room area. I immediately went to the front desk and reported this guy’s creepy/stalking behavior towards me, and yes, I did use the terms “thug” and “gang-bangin’-looking-dude” when I described his appearance to the staff members.

The following morning, Thursday, July 4th, I thought it would be prudent to at least let the management know about my experience. So, when I called, a guy answered, and I asked if I could speak with a manager or an assistant manager. He simply said, “How can I help you?”

I related what happened, and the manager asked me what the guy looked like. I repeated exactly what I said to the ladies at the front desk: “He looked like a thug. He had on long black shorts, sagging, a gray tank top, had neck tattoos.” The manager said he’d look into it, I thanked him, then we both hung up.

Not more than one minute later, the manager called me back and said, “This is Leeroy, and I’m offended by what you just said about this guy. This is a judgment free zone, and I don’t appreciate you calling someone a thug. Planet Fitness is a judgment free zone.”

I replied, “Whoa—whoa—whoa. I’m the person who’s a paying member of your gym. I just told you how this guy, I’ll refer to him as a ‘transient’, made me feel and was creeping me out while I was in the bathroom and shower. I felt like I was being preyed upon by this guy, and you care more about his feelings than you do mine?!

Also, if someone isn’t a member of the gym, and they’re just in there to do God-knows-what in the restroom, they’re most likely waiting to steal something, and they’re up to no good, then the judgment free zone DOESN’T APPLY TO THEM.”

Overall, the management at this PF hasn’t given me a voice, nor do I feel as though it believed my story, and I feel as though they definitely didn’t review any video footage or do any due diligence looking into the situation. And again, it feels as though this PF cares more about its “judgment free zone” as it applies to sketchy, transient non-members, rather than making the safety and well-being of its paying members a priority.

Always clean, friendly staff, HUGE gym with several of the same machines so theres never any waiting. Patrons there are curteous. They can improve the womens showers- theres only 1 working shower and one time someone took over an hour using it. The 1 personal trainer on staff was new when i got there and she was no help. She made a lot of excuses and wouldnt get me a workout plan. i had to hire an another personal trainer not associated with planet fitness, but i guess thats to be expected as its considered a discount gym. Other than that, its an awesome gym for the price!

I’ve previously had an uncomfortable experience with a staff member about a little over a year ago so I had refrained from going to PF for about 5-6 months. However, I have since been incredibly welcomed since I’ve begun going again. The staff members are always smiling and very friendly; specifically Yolanda. Also, Lou is so funny and friendly. You can sign up real easy online and they gladly allow you to put your payment information in on the website, but you have to go to the physical location and cancel your membership in person. Unfortunately, I have to give it 1 star due to a customer service experience. They of course have plenty of numbers that my 15 dollars a month doesn't matter, but felt the need to share for those who care to read. They tend to have a lot of cardio equipment that doesn't work right, yet not marked out of service. Typically I just find another. I decided to let them know about one of their machines thinking maybe they just aren't aware, until told. I told the employee about the issue. His response was that I probably wasn't using it right, in which I let him know that I use it daily. Walked over to show him the issue, in which he again said, you're probably just not pushing the button right. After me replying that they should really get it fixed pior to am injury, he went and let the manager know. I actually watched her roll her eyes and shake her head in her office as he told her. The machine wasn't marked out of service the remainder of my time that day. Finished my workout on other machines, and decided to cancel my membership. When she asked the reasoning, I told her. Her reply was simply, you'll get an email copy of your cancelation. I'll take my measly 15 bucks somewhere else. Too bad people just don't care
