I have been a Planet Fitness member for about a year and always paid my dues on time. Recently, I lost my credit card and my payment declined. When I visited the gym to resolve it the next day, I was surprised to see a late fee already applied.

I approached the front desk to discuss it, expecting some understanding given my clean payment history. Instead, I was met with rude and unprofessional behavior from the staff, especially Humza. While I was speaking with another representative, he unnecessarily inserted himself into the conversation and spoke in a disrespectful manner.

Despite explaining the situation, they refused to waive the fee in a polite or professional way. I paid both the membership fee and the late fee on the spot and immediately cancelled my membership due to the staff’s attitude.

I value good customer service, and unfortunately the behavior at this location was extremely disappointing. Future members, please be aware of the front desk experience at this gym.

I personally like the gym it has great machines and many amazing workers there like Humza, Danny and many others. But I have noticed an employee named Adonis who has been very inappropriate with people who are underage and even though I have personally seen many people complain about his inappropriate actions nothing has been done by planet fitness and he still is working there which is extremely concerning.

I should preface by explaining that I don't like the Planet Fitness chain. The machines in most Planet Fitness clubs feel awful and prioritze contracting muscles and not weighted stretches or full ranges of motion. Most Planet fitnesses don't have squat racks or decent leg machines. Lastly, most planet fitness employees don't bother to get to know you at all.

This Planet Fitness, however, is different. The machines, for the most part, are great. The hack squat is fantastic, the belt squat is awesome, even the normal machines are at worst pretty great. And the employees actually talk to you every now and then (never during sets). One employee I have spoken with often, Humza, is very friendly. We talk about our cuts (weightloss), exercises, and activities outside of working out and working jobs.

I have recommended this Planet Fitness to my friends and coworkers, and will continue to do so.

I love it here. I started coming to this planet fitness around 7 months ago and Humza was the first person to greet me. I’ve been a loyal member at this Planet Fitness for a long time and used to really appreciate the facility. Unfortunately, a series of troubling interactions with certain staff members completely changed my experience.

It started when I noticed a loose screw on a machine and reported it. One staff member, Hamza, was professional and helpful. But when I brought it up to another employee, Mario, I was dismissed with, “I don’t really care about it.” I was only trying to help, so the response was shocking.

To management’s credit, KJ (the General Manager) handled the issue professionally, and I even left a 5-star review praising him, Hamza, and Adonis for their great service. Unfortunately, the same problems with other staff continued.

On August 5th, while trying to help again with the same piece of equipment, I was confronted by Christine (maintenance staff). Instead of addressing the issue, she became hostile, used profanity, and threatened me. I reported this, but instead of resolving it, another staff member, Chavez, escalated the situation further and told me to leave. KJ eventually stepped in, reviewed camera footage with me, and again handled things calmly and professionally.

Later that same day, after leaving the gym, I was approached in the parking lot by a man who threatened me. Police were called, and it was confirmed he had a connection to Christine. This level of retaliation and harassment is unacceptable anywhere, let alone at a gym where people should feel safe.

What I’ve experienced here has included repeated disrespect, verbal abuse, and even being threatened both inside and outside the gym. I truly hope corporate takes serious action at this location because members deserve a safe and professional environment.

I was a little apprehensive about Planet Fitness buying out Texas Family Fitness at 1st. Now that they have remodeled and added all the bells and whistles I like it more. The best part of this location at Coit in Plano is the the folks working the front desk. This is the only location I've go into where they always great you with a smile and are genuinely interested in your well being. Thanks to Adonis, Safiye and Hanaz for everything you do. Overall, this is a great gym. I’ve been coming here for a while and have always appreciated the clean environment, well-maintained equipment, and friendly staff.

However, I recently had a disturbing experience with a staff member named Adonis (I believe that’s the name he goes by). I had never seen him before, so I assume he might be new. During one of my workouts, he was overly friendly to the point where it felt uncomfortable and even flirty—despite the fact that I was there with my boyfriend. He repeatedly tried to help me with my workout, even when I didn’t ask for or need assistance.

What’s more troubling is that I’ve noticed him interacting the same way with several young girls at the gym, which raises even more concerns. I brought this issue to the attention of the manager, Gage, but I’m not sure if any action was taken or if it was properly reported.

Since then, I’ve started coming in later in the evenings, and I’ve noticed the environment feels much more comfortable and the staff working during that time are more professional and respectful.

I’m sharing this because I believe Planet Fitness should remain a welcoming space for everyone, and I hope management continues to take steps to ensure that all staff uphold professional conduct

DO NOT STEP FOOT IN THIS PLACE. This gym is a straight-up money trap. They don’t care about fitness they care about stealing your money and making it nearly impossible to stop them.

I was a member of Texas Family Fitness before Planet Fitness took over. They sent out an email saying my membership was canceled then kept charging me anyway. They shut down the location I actually used, so I had to join a different gym and pay all the fees again annual fee, startup fee, the whole thing.

Then came another charge in January. I went in to get it fixed, and the staff told me they couldn’t do anything that my membership would cancel automatically on January 10 and I had to call a phone number. I called the number, and surprise they told me to go back to the store.

Back and forth, again and again — no help, no accountability, just lies. And when I finally went back in, they said I had to pay for July (a month I never used the gym) or they’d keep charging me. So I paid them just to get them to stop robbing me.

This place is a joke. They will do everything they can to charge you, stall you, confuse you, and wear you down until you give up. It’s predatory, it’s shady, and it’s disgusting. Don’t give them a single dollar.

Stay far, far away from this place. The front desk staff are nothing but tricksters. They told me there was no annual fee when I signed up, but guess what? They charged it a month later. It’s not only sneaky but flat-out dishonest — they hide the fee at the very bottom of the form you sign, hoping you won’t notice. When I called them out on it, they didn’t care, and the employees actually laughed at me.

Oh, and don’t be fooled by the new name. Just do a quick search — they’ve rebranded multiple times, and each time, they’ve racked up complaints. Same shady business practices under a different label. Google it and see for yourself.

Yes, the prices may seem reasonable compared to others, but hidden fees and poor service make it a total rip-off. It’s not about the money — it’s about ethics, and this place has none. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to go.

What is Planet Fitness charging me for from Jan 2025? Texas Family Fitness was bought by Planet Fitness so I was informed that the membership will automatically be cancelled if I don't transfer to PF. Now they are charging me saying that membership got transferred to PF. Why did it get transferred when it was supposed to get canceled. I haven't stepped in that place after PF bought it.
So I got there and spoke with General Manager J and he is the most inattentive person I have come across, while I am talking to him, he is looking around and talking to others. He knows nothing, whatever I asked him his answer was “I don't know”.
Do Not go here or share your card details. Will not recommend this to anyone.

I was a member of Texas family fitness before they got bought out. They were able to give me a special for staying with PF which was nice. I’ve been doing personal training with Gina for a few months now and she is amazing. Super personable and determined to help me reach my goals. I know the place is under renovation but everything is still functional and accessible plus I’m excited for the finished product. I highly recommend coming here and I especially recommend training with Gina.

I’ve been going to this gym for a few months now, and overall, it’s been a great experience. The facility is nice enough for the price—clean, with a decent selection of equipment—and they’re currently renovating, so it should only get better from here.

One of the highlights for me has been working with Gina, one of the personal trainers. At first, her style was a bit more intense than I was used to—very straightforward and focused—but it was clear right away that she really knows her stuff. As I improved, Gina became noticeably more encouraging and friendly, and now our sessions are something I genuinely look forward to. Planet fitness is so greedy & shady that in addition to charging members of the previous gym that was here, they decided to open a clearly unfinished facility to visitors. Out of consideration for the people I didn't snap a photo of the construction men climbing a ladder to fiddle with a ceiling tile directly next to a man on the treadmill. I've been working out at this gym for about 8 months now, and I have to say , it's been a game-changer for me, mostly thanks to my trainer, Gina. She's been nothing short of amazing. She takes her role seriously, and it really shows. Every complaint I’ve had about my body from tight calves that caused ankle soreness and inflammation to persistent lower back issues, she’s addressed head-on with targeted exercises and stretches that have made a huge difference.

One thing I really appreciate is how focused she is on proper form. I used to get sharp pains in my shoulder joints during chest workouts, but Gina patiently worked with me to strengthen the supporting muscles and dial in the technique. Now, even after heavy chest days, I’m pain-free.

Another standout experience was during Ramadan. I was fasting and expected to feel drained, but with the customized diet plan Gina created, I actually gained muscle and lost fat at the same time. She’s incredible with nutrition whether you're vegan, vegetarian, or have specific needs, she’ll build something that works with your lifestyle.

As for the gym itself, the equipment is pretty average not the latest and greatest but they are currently renovating, so fingers crossed for some upgrades soon.

One area that definitely needs improvement is the management. Communication is seriously lacking. If you have an issue, you’ll often get bounced around from person to person with no clear answer. I recently had a frustrating experience trying to resolve a double charge on my account and wish they were more organized and transparent.

That said, the front desk staff is always welcoming and friendly. Big shoutout to them they help keep the vibe positive.

All in all, the personal training has been 5 stars thanks to Gina, and I’m hoping the rest of the gym catches up once renovations and management kinks are sorted out.

SUPER DISAPPOINTED. I went to this location to cancel my membership on the second day of my payment last month and the front desk staff told me the cancellation was processed successfully. Then one month later, they charged my card again. When I went to this location today, they said my account was still active at another location which I never went to before. OMG !!! Planet Fitness has been charging me for monthly dues as a previous Texas Family Fitness member. When you actually go to location, you need a new membership with new rates which is actually same rate for anyone walking into this location. My question is why should they charge me monthly rate if they are not honoring or grandfathering or additional discounts. Its a rip off. If I didnt visit for a year, they would keep on billing as a free money. I would actually call this as a stealing.
When I went their, the staff was horrible. They repeat the same script even when I told them I understand your point but they dont want to understand or listen to customer point. Texas Family Fitness charged my card for the dues on the same time that they transferred to Planet Fitness. I immediately canceled my membership but they charged my card for $43. Texas family Fitness didnt have permission to give Planet Fitness my card info. Planet fitness is giving me the run around by giving emails thats dont work, saying theyll call back and dont and then saying ”per policy” they arent issuing refunds. Blythe gave me the false name of “GP” when I asked for her name bc she was screaming over me and saying over and over “we dont give refunds per policy” PLANET FiTNESS did NOT have authority to have my card info or charge my card! They dont even have a $43 membership option!

Planet gyms have a reputation for not being weightlifter friendly, but I'm happy to say that this one is different so far.

When the location changed hands, they doubled the amount of squat racks all with Olympic platforms. They brought in more dumbbells, like 47.5lb, 52.5 lb, rotating ones, added an extra trap bar, & a ton more plates.

They're also about to have 24 hour access 5 days a week, so pretty great setup all around.

(But please! Just don't install a lunk alarm. I don't grunt or drop my weights lol just please don't)

I joined this location online after seeing a sign saying they were opening near me. Having been a previous member in another state, I looked forward to joining and the clean and well-kept standard I’ve seen at other PF’s.

This location is filthy and several machines were out of order. Additionally, I got a black card membership and none of the other amenities available here. This looks like a very outdated, old interior with very old gross equipment. Not what I expected from a Planet Fitness! & especially not at the black card price point.
