Almost every time I’ve gone up to the front desk for something the new manager is always scolding/talking down on the employees in a rude unprofessional way. Not sure why they didn’t just promote Daniel to be the new GM, everyone likes him and knows him 🤷

I’ve been a member here for a while, and it’s honestly disappointing to see how poorly the manager treats the staff. I’ve watched them talk down to employees right in front of customers, and it creates such an uncomfortable atmosphere. The workers are clearly doing their best, but the way management handles things makes the whole gym feel tense and unwelcoming. It’s a shame because the facility itself is decent and most of the staff are great people. But no matter how good the equipment is, it’s hard to enjoy your workout when you can feel the negativity coming from the top. Management really needs to learn some basic respect and professionalism, until then, I can’t recommend this place. I’ve noticed a few workers that are usually sweet and smiley and tense up whenever the new manager is around, i’m used to being able to have small conversations with workers like caden, harley, and mckinnah but now when i come up to the desk it’s like they’re on lock down. I really hate to say it but i will be canceling my membership here, really disappointed. Do better PF, might just join Crunch

SUPER EXCITED to get snatched for our CALIFORNIA trip in February, my bestie and I, popped into PF. We come to the front desk where 2 employees stood. We asked for info about becoming a member, expecting a sales pitch, we were we were met with silence and were handed an ipad. Aa my bff inspected the i pad screen, i spoke up asking for membership info, and amenities, I asked the employee to tell me why I should want to work out at PF.

The blonde male emploee with blue eyes responded with a single question "Are you sure you want to workout here?" 🤔

Taken back by the response, & slightly puzzled. we assumed maybe he was being playful so we asked in a silly tone "should we not want to workout here?"

The reply " ohhh no no its like safe and all" with a snarky tone left us feeling uneasy.

The same employee then urged us to go join a different gym in Rowlett. I asked if this gym was closing. He responded no, then which I asked why I would join a gym in Rowlett when I live in Rockwall?

He replied "well the new manager is kind of COOKEY, we just have to do whatever he says and just tell him to 'have a good one" *with two thumbs up* plus half of the equipment doesnt work here but we have tanning."
All the while the 2nd employee was just pacing on the far side of the desk area... like they were both so serious. So bizarre.

Y'all when I tell you I felt like I was in an alternate universe or some shit.... I looked at my bestie, made sure she erased her info off the iPad, and left....... in complete and utter S H O C K

We set in the car baffled, shook, dazed and confused, unsettled, like whaaat?!

What is going on?!
Is it a common thing to turn people away if they dont fit the gym aesthetic ?!

Is PF Rockwall discriminating?

Are the political hierarchy dramatics getting so bad its own employees are trying to get the gym shut down?

Like whats going on? Anyone else been treated like this?!

I've been to other planet fitnesses, and this is probably the lower rated ones. Bathrooms are not consistently clean. I could usually block out the music they play with my headphones, but it seemed they turned it up louder than normal. I've bought noise canceling headphones and it still bleeds through with the volume all the way up. Equipment is good since they upgraded and there are plenty of them l.

I have only just joined, and the diversity of workout equipment is my favorite. Also 1 on 1 sessions with is awesome! Especially for people who need to understand the process and correct way to use the weight machines and not hurt yourself for the most effectiveness. I also like the Black Card perks. The hydromassage lounger is worth the trip to the club every day. Not only that, you get the opportunity to use the stand-alone massage chairs, tanning beds, and red light therapy. The club is always clean with very clean restrooms and locker rooms. Staff is always welcoming and encouraging. I should have joined sooner.

My biggest complaint is all the folks here sitting on the machines on their cell phones. Some are sitting and watching TV shows! I saw a guy sit on a machine for 25 minutes earlier this week with his legs crossed and all. Meanwhile, nearly every other machine was being used. When it's that busy, staff should be stepping in and help keep things moving on the full body circuit machines instead of letting folks hang out and watch their phones. Some of us are there to get a workout and keep our heart rate up.

I share some of the other complaints, too. The locker rooms and bathrooms are always trashed. I've never seen them clean.

RESPONSE TO THE OWNER

The point is, I shouldn't have to reach out to staff to ask them to help move along the full body circuit. If someone's squatting on a machine for more than 15 minutes, staff should notice and do something about it. When I check out the counter, a lot of the time there's more than one person just chilling...

My husband and I have been members here for almost a year, and only recently started coming faithfully. Unfortunately, one major issue stands out every single time we visit: there are almost never paper towels available at the cleaning stations.

This isn’t just a minor inconvenience — it directly impacts the cleanliness of the facility. Members are left walking from station to station trying to find supplies, often frustrated, while equipment sits uncleaned. I’ve personally witnessed multiple people leaving annoyed because of this ongoing problem.

I understand that staffing or supply issues can happen, but this has been a consistent problem, not an occasional shortage. For a gym that prides itself on a clean, judgment-free environment, this is unacceptable. As paying members, we should have the basic ability to clean up after ourselves and keep the facility sanitary.

If this continues, we’ll have to consider moving our membership elsewhere. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and addresses it quickly, because it’s an issue that affects every member who walks through the door.

I travel across the country for work and have visited many different PF gyms. Rockwall, is by far the worst one I have been to. Not sure if it is a PF deal or a Rockwall deal, but they allow high schoolers access for free in the summer. While this is great in theory, it crowds the equipment for the entire summer for the regulars and most of the high school aged kids do not pick up after themselves leaving the gym dirty and in disarray. In all the other PF gyms I’ve been to, the staff walks the area at least once an hour to ensure the cleanliness of the workout area and ensuring all equipment is properly racked. With the exception of 1 or 2 workers, you have to tell the workers at this PF when the trash is overflowing or the paper towels are out and they seem to not care about equipment being scattered across the gym that people have just left. Otherwise, they stand behind the counter on their phones not doing much of anything as far as I can tell. Overall, very frustrated with Rockwall. This place was not like this prior to the previous manager leaving.

The worst.

Canceled my membership, and they still kept charging me. I spoke with their corporate, with the gym (of which Grant was a jerk who hung up on me), and even with their third party billing people. Nobody cared and nobody would help me cancel. When I asked for a refund, they all refused and acted like I was the bad guy. I couldn't even use anything because my spine broke, so I'll never recommend Planet Fatness to anyone ever again. Keep your tootsie rolls and pizza. You were awful to me at my worst hour and I will never forget.

Terrible experience . On 7/4 it said hours operation where open until 6pm due to holiday. I planned my whole workout around this time. Whenever I drove all the way over there and made it to the parking lot at 5 pm … chugged my pre workout .. ready to hit the gym for an hour … I saw several people leaving the gym . I was stopped by a few ladies who informed me they where kicking people out because they up and decided to close earlier . So instead of 6 like was promoted on their app and online they decided to close at 5 pm. The ladies said they even called ahead of time to confirm what hours they where open and they told them till 6 pm … while I pulled in to the parking lot so did several other members who where upset as they planned to use their membership from 5 to 6 pm. We made a drive to work out on a holiday just to be turned away by crew members who chose to close earlier than advertised . The people being kicked out that where inside where also upset . Please explain how this is okay . Y’all already aren’t 24 hours Friday -Sunday. If yall don’t plan on being open til 6pm on a holiday don’t advertise it that way. We are wasting time, energy and gas just to make it there just to be turned away at the door . That’s crazy.

Update, the new equipment is great but some of the employees are lazy and the cleanliness of the mens locker room is lacking.

It is sad that the owner of this top producing franchise is too cheap to buy some more 45lb plates so that everyone can work out at the same time. Got ready to do squats on an open Smith machine and a guy walked over and took 4 out of the 6 45 lb plates so he could workout on his machine. It's bad enough that the dumbells only go to 60 lbs. I have posted about this before as well as talked to the mgr and the response is always " I don't see that happening".

Your response shows that you are missing the point. Adequate plates means no problem. This is not a gym etiquette problem, it's people trying to work out. If you get a few guys that lift heavy on the Smith machines there are not enough plates to go around. They often times have to be taken for the incline leg press because it does not have enough 45lb plates. To compound the problem the staff does not go around and reset the weights where they go because they are too busy sitting on the counter looking at their phone. This gym is failing its members in almost every aspect including cleanliness because it is not well managed. I have only ever had one problem with another gym member and went to mgt. Rather than kick the guy out for what he did the managers response was "let's all just try to get along". Judgement free zone is a joke!
Please do not make any more disingenuous canned responses to my complaints, it just proves my point about how poorly this gym is run.

My main complaint is the lack of strength equipment. Needs; another leg extension, leg curl, leg press, pec rear delt fly machine, cable squat machines(seniors need to do squats, Smith machine to dangerous) abdominal rotation(should be one in ab room). Planet Fitness in Rockwall's neighborhood is a gym that offers a range of quality equipment, making it a good choice for those seeking a reliable workout space. When I tell y’all you can tell who’s working and who’s not. There’s a guy named Jay who typically works in the early morning who will have the gym looking right! He’s the only one I see constantly cleaning the floors, bathrooms, or making conversation. I’m going to start my review by saying for the lockers, GET. A. LOCK. My car was stolen from their parking lot while I was working out the night of 3/24/25. I still love this location and that is my reasoning for 4 stars. The thieves went into the locker room, went through my bag, stole a pair of shorts, a nike sports bra, my tanning lotion and mitt, my car keys, and my vehicle. They took it to a hotel right down the road and dumped it after ransacking it. Luckily it was recovered in less than 3 hours and was dusted for fingerprints at the police station. All glory to God my three car seats were still there. There is now an open investigation as this was a felony and they were caught red handed on every single camera at the gym they didn’t even bother to try and hide their faces, cameras also caught the accomplice vehicle that followed them out of the parking lot, and to the hotel where they were caught on camera again. One of the women even had the audacity to scan her membership! Just to walk in, steal, and leave. I was about to celebrate my one year at this gym and i’ve always enjoyed coming, I’ve made friends with some of the workers, met lovely people, but I never expected someone to do this. Now I have crippling anxiety to bring my vehicle back even after it is re-keyed. I’m absolutely at fault for not having a lock but you never think something like this will happen to you until it does.

This location in Rockwall is very clean. It's big enough to accommodate people without feeling packed. Machines that are broken are usually fixed by my next visit. The tanning bed bulbs are always good. Staff is always friendly. I drive 20-25 minutes to this location because it's better than the one less than 10 minutes away from me.

I really like the new equipment, but I do feel that much of the cardio equipment are way to close to each other, almost Uncomfortable close to each other. If you are on a treadmill or elliptical machine, you are no more than a few inches next to a stranger, that is awkward, and not socially acceptable. Which means, much of the equipment doesn’t get used, due to people need space, and do not want to be on top of a stranger. Yes, by spacing out the units, you might have less, but they are not fully being used the way the currently are.

It’s unfortunate to write this, but the **decline in customer service** and overall maintenance at the Planet Fitness in Rockwall has become too noticeable to ignore. I used to enjoy this gym, but now, it feels like standards have taken a nosedive. Let’s break it down.

Look at the guys in the picture on their phones, and trust me when I tell you, they were in that same position for awhile. Heck, when I left the gym, one of them was on the floor behind the counter on his phone. Perhaps, one of them could have been cleaning the men's locker room.

**Customer Service? What’s That?**
It’s a rare occasion to walk into this gym and be greeted by the staff. While a few employees are friendly, most seem disinterested, glued to their phones instead of engaging with members. I’ve personally seen employees on their phones not only at the front desk but even in the **locker room**, which is both unprofessional and inappropriate.

**Locker Room Horror Stories**
The **men’s locker room** is a disaster. It’s often filthy with paper scattered across the floor, sinks cluttered, and the urinals left in unacceptable conditions. Planet Fitness has a **no phones policy in the locker room**, but it’s clearly not enforced. Instead, you’ll find aspiring “Mr. Olympias” flexing and posing in the mirror while the guy minding his own business tries to get dressed.

**Cleanliness Isn’t a Priority**
The gym recently upgraded its equipment, which sounds great—until you realize the locker rooms don't match the gym floor. It's like going to a restaurant and the food looks good, but the kitchen is dirty. It makes me wonder why can't you clean the entire establishment, instead of parts of it.

**A Tale of Two Gyms**
For comparison, the **Planet Fitness in Pleasant Grove (Buckner Ave)** is significantly cleaner and better maintained than this location. You would think it would be the opposite, given the reputation of Pleasant Grove, but nope, the gym in the hood wins on clean locker rooms and customer service. This makes me wonder if the manager here (Rockwall), though friendly, holds her staff accountable. Employees are often standing around or scrolling through their phones when they could be cleaning the locker rooms or enforcing locker room policies.

**My Final Thoughts**
Once the **Forney Planet Fitness** opens, I can confidently say I won’t return to this location, and I pray that one of the managers from Rockwall do not become the manager in Forney. This experience has shown me that demographics, socio-economic status, and location don’t guarantee a better gym.

And before you ask me to contact customer service or speak to a manager about these issues, don’t bother. This review is my feedback. If you truly care about the upkeep of your gym, take this as a wake-up call. Believe my words or not, but don’t pretend to care when the actions at this location suggest otherwise.

I will be back to your location soon, as the gym in Forney has not opened yet, and you better believe I will be taking pictures of the men's locker room. As the public has a right to see and know that you are not living up to the Planet Fitness standards.

The staff here has gotten totally useless and incompetent. Signed up for the hydromassage after my workout and was told there was 6 minutes left on one of them. Sat down right next to the desk. Waited 10 minutes and saw another guy sign up and head back there. Approached the desk to be told there was a 4 minute wait. Denied that the other guy went back there. Absolutely livid. Management needs to make sure these kids are doing their jobs and not just standing around talking to their friends!

Spoke to a member of staff in September and was told I would be allowed to take two months off from being billed while I recovered from an injury and come back this month instead of canceling. Assured me everything would be fine on their end. Today I go back to work out and find that I have a past due balance and cannot workout. Now I can't get anyone to help me cancel or otherwise. Used to use the Garland location as it was closer to work but chose to move to rockwall since I live there and it's been nothing but problems since. Now I can't get anyone to help me.

I have used this gym since 2018 and I pay for my wife and four kids memberships. I went to the front desk today to advise them that I needed to temporarily cancel two of my kids memberships due to being away at college. These idiots told me that I was not allowed to cancel their memberships regardless of i pay for them because they needed to be there in person to cancel them. Well guess what now you get to lose six memberships instead of two temporarily. Horrible business practice. Manager called from the gym and took care of me. It really needs to be easier to cancel a membership. I’m bumping them to four stars for doing the right thing.

Not sure why PF is catering to the freak who’s snapping photos of members. Let’s start with the obvious: taking photos of other members is creepy and a complete invasion of privacy. Why is this even allowed to happen? If this individual has an issue with how others are using the machines, they should be directed to speak to staff—not invade people’s privacy like some self-appointed gym authority. The fact that the staff is catering to this nonsense is even more ridiculous. Enforce the rules and protect the privacy of your members.
If they have an issue with people using machines “too long,” grow up and handle it like an adult—either speak to the staff or wait your turn.

This isn’t their gym, and people are allowed to use the machines as they see fit. Maybe they’re doing supersets, maybe they need extra time—either way, it’s none of their business. Great Club especially since the new plate loaded equipment arrived. Dumbbells go to 75lbs which is a plus. The people make all the difference! Travis and Maverick are amazing. They truly care, are always cleaning and there to answer anything you may need.
I do wish the tanning bed bulbs were changed more frequently.

Do not sign up for Planet Fitness Rockwall go to Rowlett or Garland instead! Rockwall PF took out the 30 minute express because they didn't want to bother to monitor the area and the staff was rude when you asked them to. I only have a limited amount of time to work out because I work 12 hr days so the express area was perfect... But again Rockwall didn't want to bother so I won't bother to recommend the Rockwall location.... Also they don't give you half price on energy drinks if you're a black member like all the other planet fitness locations do... Also, they seem to be closed quite a bit or the AC is not working and its uncomfortable to work out.

The cleanliness, friendliness and special features make it a pleasant experience for me. Although the only reason I didn’t choose a five star rating is because I have to travel 15 minutes to get there. I wish there was a planet fitness in Royse City!!!

It’s the most closed location I’ve ever been to. Call it timing or whatever but my experience so far sucks I joined in July. When I first went there to check out the gym, I noticed it was a little warmer than normally a gym would be. A few days after I signed up they were closed because their AC went out. The kicker was that they didn’t update their site so I was still driving there not knowing it was closed. Today same thing. I go there website says it’s open but nothing on their site says they’re closed! It’s frustrating because at this point planet fitness owes their members. Atleast update your site! So people don’t drive all the way there for nothing! They also give free memberships to teens during the summer which makes it so inconvenient for members who are waiting for equipment to be open to use. It’s crowded off free memberships it’s like what am I paying for then???

Sometimes it's frustrating cause every workout spot i go to after I begin has some person in my way at the station I feel like not enough things for workouts nee more than one leg lift for abs need more than one pull up bar with the good grips and different angled grip and more bench machines more than one curl machine I'm paying 24.99 plus a annual fee plus other fees for a gym with plenty of space and not enough machines

Corporate cuts corners during the heat season. They set the thermostat to room temperature on hot days. If it gets near 100 degrees outside they just shut the place down completely. Bathrooms are always dirty.

This place gets very busy during peak hours and equipments are hard to access. Same during summer months when free access is given to students. Few equipments always stay busy. They need enforce timers on equipment usage few people just sit n rest long watching phones between sets n have no considerations for others.

Rockwall location is a great place for alternative to the YMCA for working out if you don’t mind not having a pool that is economical. Lots of options and equipment that work. Love the massage chairs and hydro massage. Great workers! Hours are the best.

I fractured my shoulder and originally joined to get back my range of motion. I love it so much, I have continued to go well past getting my rom back. Great place, great staff, great pricing. I love working out here and I love being able to bring a guest.

I've been going here for years. I don't go in the evenings when it is crowded. Mornings and afternoons aren't bad. It's clean. Staff is ok. Occasionally they have plumbing problems in the ladies restroom. That's been annoying and at times lasted way too many days. They get new equipment often it seems.

Don't sign up for this membership. There are a few ways to tell how this company is bad.
You can sign up for a membership online, but they require you to go in to cancel it.
I cancelled mine after having it for a few years. They charged me almost 50.00 when I cancelled it.

30 minute workout area is still being hogged by people not being used properly. You've got these two groups of people that are hogging these machines and not moving on from one to the next like they're supposed to. Nobody from planet fitness is watching this area and this is a continual problem. I've been through four machines and you got these two machines in the picture shown by these four people they've been at them for 10 to 15 minutes at a time and no one can get to them

If you want to get a workout in during the evening hours, good luck, you will be met with teens and young adults camping on machines and in the weight area staring at their phone. There are signs posted asking gym patrons to be respectful of the time spent on any certain machine but they don't care. When I brought it to the attention of the staff I was basically told to approach the other gym goers, which I don't have a problem doing, but there is something about this entitled younger generation that makes them believe that they should be allowed to be inconsiderate. I'll be going in to cancel my families membership at this gym and be looking for a larger gym that has adequate gym equipment to cover the demand.

I like working out here, the facility is always so clean and the bathrooms are always stocked. All of the gym equipment is in working condition, it is rare to see any out of service. The early morning staff is always so friendly. I would recommend this gym!

I have been attending this gym since January 2023, so about 3 months total and in this time I have become comfortable there. The staff is great, they make you feel welcome and not a bother. I go when it is less crowded so I have not had to wait on a machine and the patrons of the gym are courteous and nice as well. No place is without hic-ups but there really are too few to even mention.

Too cold inside. 54 outside, air-conditioners on and the fans were blasting! I looked around and no one was sweating. Please! It's a gym, not a frozen section of a supermarket. Group Aerobics would be great!

Staff is always friendly, helpful and smiling. I think the gym is well equipped but could use more lifting equipment, also a second dumbbell area. When the crowd meter hits two it is unlikely to get into this area. People don’t move on and in a two hour workout you still may not be able to fit in. Same thing for the curl bars. A second rack would help. These end up all over the gym and everyone is using the same weight. Great gym though and I would recommend it!

Beware: don’t go in a lay-down tanning bed. I watched them NOT clean between tanners. I don’t even know how many times this has probably happened to me! The staff here seems bored and incompetent. I’ve been to Plano, Allen and Richardson and they’ve all been very friendly and eager to help. We literally watched a girl CROCHET behind the counter at the Rockwall location. Instead of standing there doing nothing, ask your staff to clean the facilities and the tanning beds! Disgusting!
