The club is great, and the equipment is always functional and clean. However, I want to point out that some rules are not being consistently enforced.
There is one member in particular who often brings four or five sets of dumbbells and a mat to the front workout area, creating a significant hazard. I actually tripped over his backpack once. All of the employees likely know who I’m referring to.
Please address this issue—I would prefer not to switch to another club because of one member.

I went In this morning and every smith machine had a water bottle on it and nobody there ! I have been asked by staff to get up in the middle of my workouts . Or to shorten the breaks in between sets! As ppl are waiting.( I have a shoulder injury which requires me to take my time ) when the same person takes up 4 machines. And nothing is said ! Every time I interact with an employee they have been rude to me. I got a massage that I have to pay extra for and the exact Second that it was done. An employee came in and told me to get the heck up, which was very rude. I deserve to be able to sit for a minute or two and then relax after having a massage, especially since I picked quite a bit extra for it. Sadly every time I come here, I have some kind of problem with one of the front desk people being rude to me. I don’t recommend this location

This place is great, but they lack when it comes to leg machines, I noticed there was no hip thrust machine available at this location. Crunch is opening up across the street and they have ALL the machines so I might have to switch unless they update their selection!

Thank you for the feedback. I tried contacting the manager for about two months now and I haven’t heard back from them. If you’re the manager in reading this, can we please get a hip thrust machine not the kind with the belt! Thanks.

Alejandra is always so upbeat and helpful every single time my boyfriend and I come in! This location so far has been our favorite out of any we have gone to, just because the workers are so inviting and this location is so clean compared to many others. I stay recommending people come to the Rowlett PF because like I said I've had several awful experiences at different locations and know that this one is top tier. Im very grateful for the gains and friends I've made along the way!!

This is a very nice Planet Fitness. Some Planet Fitness locations are very dirty and ran poorly. This location however, is very clean with great employees working for them. This location is CONSTANTLY over capacity. No matter the time of day, it feels like you’re fighting through a wall of people just to move around. Machines are almost always taken, free weights are crammed, and you end up spending half your visit waiting in line or dodging what feels like hundreds of other members squeezed into the same room. It’s not a gym experience, it’s chaos.

On top of that, their membership policies are ridiculous. You can’t cancel online or even over the phone like a normal business in 2025. They force you to come in person for the simplest account transaction, wasting even more of your time. It feels deliberately inconvenient, designed to make it harder to leave.

This gym is always clean. I mean trash bags are always replaced. Spray bottles are always full so we clean equipment. Bathrooms are always clean. Not a single dust. The employees are hospitable.
The only problem I have is a sign missing:

'TEXTING, FACEBOOK, TIKTOK AND INSTAGRAM ARE NOT PART OF YOUR WORKOUT" SIGN.

So happy with my experience here. Everything is CLEAN and the people are so kind, both staff and patrons. The hours are great, all the equipment was functional and I even got to wrap up my workout with a hydro massage. Great renewal experience the associate was very helpful and very friendly. I got renewed quickly and she was very knowledgeable of the membership process and with silver sneakers program. I have been coming to this location the day it opened for a few years now and new management has changed the rule on crocs in the gym?! I have always worn crocs at all planet fitness locations for years now as I work in a pharmacy and it’s too hot to be in some sweaty shoes. Actually crocs are safer for the feet than shoes and that’s an actual fact. Just because you’re new management enforcing new rules with zero evidence to support to back it up on the changes, makes no sense to me. The workers are short staffed and usually 1…2 ppl are seen because there’s so few scheduled and I come often to the gym and it’s often. The trash in the back is always full. I love this place to death but new management is making it not so fun.

So I actually enjoy the gym…been a member since June. It’s always clean and the workers are always very friendly, so the environment is very welcoming. HOWEVER, ever since they started signing people up at the start of the new year it’s almost impossible to get a good workout. People come in groups, the squat racks are almost always unavailable, and the stretching area is always packed. If they were a tad bit bigger the newer people wouldn’t be such an issue but it is. I had to go to another gym last week just to be able to workout. Again It’s a great gym, but you don’t want to pay 30.00/month and not even be able to work out when you come.

Since moving to TX, I’ve had a difficult time finding a gym to call home. I’ve found a hidden ceiling fan camera at LA fitness in Sashe, and Lifetime Garland was fantastic, but overpriced- so I tried planet fitness here in Rowlett. I am beyond happy so far. It’s been a few months and I’ve never felt more safe, comfortable, clean and happy in a gym environment. I look forward to getting to come to the facility each week and think they’ve done a wonderful job at upkeep, staffing, customer service and cleanliness. 5 out of 5 stars for sure.

It’s fine if you are looking for somewhere to use a treadmill. It’s really cheap membership but now I understand why. It’s not a real gym, staff doesn’t enforce any kind of etiquette. Not enough weights and first gym I’ve gone to people actively hold 3-4 sets of weights next to their bench. Staff told me that’s just the way some people like to work out. Ouch, just told me a lot about the staff that they might actually not know anything about working out. No, they were not doing supersets mostly just jumping up and down on the bench pretending to do something. Meanwhile a sea of weights on the ground that barely get touched. For Rowlett/ Garland area I recommend XCEL ( small but has everything you need, knowledgeable staff). Lifetime I hate to say it but worth the membership, even though it’s a bit pricier.

The facility is nice. The staff on Friday night however is not. I go to multiple locations and this is the only one that has bugged me about having my gym bag with me on the floor. I had to hear it twice from two different workers acting like they were having a panic attack over something so trivial. Visiting this Planet Fitness yesterday was an inspiring experience! My spouse and I, now retired, have been traveling across the country, and we've found that Planet Fitness facilities are a fantastic option for keeping fit on the road. While we've noticed that some locations struggle with cleanliness, we believe every Planet Fitness should uphold high standards in this area. With so many people using the gym, having a dedicated cleaner on each shift makes perfect sense. This facility truly gets it right! Imagine if Planet Fitness management encouraged members to serve as the eyes and ears while traveling. The facility is very clean and organized, which is why I chose this location due to its proximity to my job. I often go there do the workout and take a shower before heading to work. However, the issue I have encountered at Rowlett's location is that the water in the ladies' room shower is cold most of the time. On several occasions, I have had to shower in cold water, and due to the cold weather, I was sick for almost two weeks last time! Please address the issue with the cold water in the ladies' room shower!!! I think the management don't care about the cold water... that is so sad we spend our money but they don't care!
If you want to take a shower after your workout never ever chose Rowlett location!!!!!!!

I use this gym quite frequently. Everyone typically does a decent job of cleaning up after themselves. However, I also always see the staff going around and dusting or wiping down machines that aren't being used and vacuuming the place. It does get pretty busy on week nights between 5-9 , but besides that, it's never difficult getting to use the machines I plan on using. As far as the person saying that the staff are young and lack on customer service skills, I don't know what she really expects lol. It's a gym where you check yourself in on your own... The staff do all look fairly young. However, they always say "hello" and "thanks for coming in" whenever I check in, and they say, "Have a good day" or something like that whenever I leave. If she's expecting them to keep her kid company whenevet she leaves it up at the front while she works out, that's not their job. I personally have never seen anyone bring their children to this gym, so I assume they may have had a surprised look on their face when she came in. Either way, the staff have always seemed to do a great job to me. I am grateful for them opening this one in Rowlett!

This location is very clean. I like that however It is not as spacious as the other location that I go to in Rockwall it’s mission is a free judgment zone when I walked in this location it was a lot of young people at the counter kinda looked at you up and down and a unpleasant way no “Hello welcome “, I did not feel very welcoming when I came in the first and the second time with my child the only reason is that the convenience of a separate area where my kids can play on their games while I work out, however they do need to improve on customer service friendly skills especially customers with their membership come in to this establishment. It does give a very discomfort when you walk into this facility . Young folks work on friendly customer service & welcoming environmental skills everything else is pretty good with the facility. I do want to mention some of the 30 minute workout zones equipment is very discomfort to use at this facility, I would just stick with the treadmill utilize the Hydro /massage machine!

I have never been disrespected than by one of their female general manager. I am resting in between my sets so I do not hurt myself. No more than 1-2 minutes. I had a women with the audacity to say I can’t do that because they are busy (crowd meter at a 2 btw). That is unacceptable and can hold them liable if I were to be injured, especially at the low rep, high weight workouts I was doing. The language “you cannot rest in between sets” is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

There were a pack of teenagers and men all on their phones. I am appalled at this and am considering to not return after this.

After my workout I would love to relax and clean myself up with a nice warm/hot shower.
Unfortunately the women’s shower water is ridiculously COLD! No matter what time or day I go the water is cold.
I have reported the issue several times to management or someone on duty, but yet the problem still isn’t fixed. I love this gym but I was here today, Saturday the 24th and saw someone wearing a shirt with the F word in bold letters on it. I’m not impressed with the gym allowing someone to wear profanity like that.

Lots of equipment and full cleaning stations. Saw team members cleaning too. Tanning & massage beds were great.
