I would give a 5 star but one employee was soo rude to me and my wife the guy with the blue hair he came and screamed at us when we literally did not know we had to check in at the front to use the hydro massage. Need to teach your team to have a positive attitude when speaking to paying customers. DO BETTER PLANET FITNESS!!!

Today 11-15-2025. 12 noon Visited this location as always once to twice a week. And was told that my grandson age 4 could not enter the building. But..... previous visits was allowed to sit at table with adult. Other children no older than 10 have been left unattended at that table. I asked to use men's room and was declined..... not so nice. Understand that the employees are doing their job, but could not pull it up on the app. to show me.
Proper signage should be in place to explain issue compliance and where to find it on the app., doors, counter, ect. I will expect a response to this issue as I will be watching for results. Not so happy grandpa.

Love the location, that area did need it. I always have a sucessful workout, it is clean, and overall the gym is well taken care of. But employees lack customer service. Always have to wait long period of time for a simple question, and their attitude is not very welcoming tbh

Music gets way too loud over the speakers.
Can't hear my own headphones without maxing volume.

Re: I asked if the volume was always that loud or if it was only at night. The response was that "it is always that loud, and only seems worse because there were fewer ppl in the gym"
People want to be able to hear their headphones without competing with the gym speakers or requiring noise canceling headphones.

So I guess this is a new location. I've never been touching before a day in my life lol But I recently got diagnosed with diabetes which contributed to a significant amount of weight gain and my doctor said that going to the gym would be good it would help me So I'm decided to join planet fitness because they're black card membership you have access to the black card spa and it has massage chairs tanning red light therapy they call it total body enhancements, hydro massage there's like another kind of like crypto massage chair thing I'm not really sure. But the place was amazing it was clean the staff were very friendly the atmosphere is very easygoing I was worried that I'd be judged or you know it would be awkward it's not at all wasn't really crowded neither overall it was a great experience. I will say though if you do join and you are a black card member you have to have your own goggles for tanning and red light therapy. But I can't wait to go back tomorrow lol

The new Planet Fitness at Westwood is very nice. The equipment is great, the facility is clean and the parking is abundant. However, the customer service is lacking. I arrived this morning and there were five employees behind the desk. Not one of them acknowledged me, smiled, said hello, or welcomed me. They all looked miserable. Then I asked for assistance using the spa area and the massage chairs. This was my first time in that area and I'm unfamiliar with how the chairs work. The young lady at the front was rude and seemed irritated that she had to assist me. I even explained that I was not familiar with the equipment. She helped me but did not seem to want to. I was really hoping this would be a great fit for me. The location and price are perfect. But the customer service is bad. I'm hoping it gets better and someone in management sees this review. If not I will look for a friendlier gym.

The new Planet Fitness location is impressive. The gym is very spacious, and the layout allows for a sense of privacy in each section. The equipment is all brand new, with more variety compared to the Potranco location, which makes workouts more efficient and enjoyable.

It’s also not as crowded as I expected for a new gym, which has been a pleasant surprise. I appreciate seeing some of the familiar staff from the older location as well. It creates a welcoming and consistent environment. Overall, this facility sets a higher standard!

The gym itself is good however staff did not bother to even acknowledge me on my way in or out. But was very pleasant with other gym members. I am a bodybuilder and perhaps there was a bias there. However, as someone who frequents gyms and has worked in them for years, i value customer service. A simple smile and hello goes along way. You should not exhibit any personal bias towards gym members because that is unprofessional and doesn’t make the facility look good.

08/16/2025, 2-3 weeks after open : brand new facility, open 24/7, massage chairs, great price.
It’s a brand new facility so everything is still new and clean. It has everything I need for my work out needs, and more.
Opening 24/7 is a HUGE PLUS. You pay more at Golds or Lifetime, and they don’t even open 24 hours.
For ~$23/month, I got the Blackcard Membership, which gives me unlimited access to the massage chairs, whether it’s Cryo, or Hydro, or regular. The massage chairs access alone is probably worth the price for me. There is also tanning beds, but I haven’t tried.
As long as they continue to keep up with the maintenance of equipment, this place is solid.

I have been going to Planet Fitness in Leon Valley for a long time because that location had the most equipment variety compared to the other location on Potranco. This new location just opened, so I decided to pop in since it's actually now the closest to location to me. I'm very happy to report a large variety of equipment including about 5 Smith machines, all of your usual weight machines including some plate loaded, a hip thrust machine (which is huge given that movement is very popular and takes up many Smith machines). They have several cable towers, plenty of cardio variety, and my personal favorite- 3 Olympic bar racks with deadlifting platforms. They also have turf for sled pushing, various kinds of cages for pull-ups and mobility-type work. Everything was very clean as I have always come to expect from PF regardless of the location. It's all shiny and new right now. I can't think of any other subscription in my life that provides such a good bang for your buck. The old Planet Fitness that was limited to beginner equipment is gone, and they have definitely upped their equipment game. This is a perfect place for beginners, intermediate, and even advanced lifters. Comfortable environment and welcoming staff. Members all doing their own thing. If you're on the fence, just get going. 75lb down after 2 years of strength training has changed my life. Most of that happened in a PF gym. Don't wait- your best life is waiting for you!

I'm really happy that a planet fitness finally opened near me. This location is very nice and has a wide variety of equipment to use. I especially like all the personal care machines available in the black card spa. The only negative thing I have to say is that they do not have all the necessary equipment needed by newcomers to use the tanning beds and the red light therapy pods. I have never used a red light or tanning pod before but I knew goggles would be needed so on one of my first visits I asked and was assured that while they would have goggles for sale they also have one time use disposable goggles available for free. However on my latest visit I finally wanted to try the red light pod and was once again assured that the free goggles were available in the room before being left in the room to search for them without being given any saftey instructions for how to use the machine despite stating that it was my first time using it. I searched the entire room before going and asking the employee again who assured me they were available only for them not to find the goggles either and then being told by a manager that they haven't yet installed the cubbies to store them in the rooms and that I would have to buy goggles from their machine in order to actually use the red light pod, which they didn't know the price for either. I understand this is a new location and am confident it will improve in the near future however as a new planet fitness member I find it very frustrating to be repeatedly told I'd be able to use the machines I paid to use with my membership only to find out I actually couldn't use them unless I paid an unknown amount for goggles I may never use again if I don't like the tanning or red light pods. In addition I think it's a bit of a hazard being that I saw no warning on the machine stating that goggles would be needed(unless i somehow missed it), so had I not done my research or simply decided it wasn't worth the hassle to search for the goggles it could have resulted in some possible eye damage amoung other things. Once again I know this is a new location and I still recommend checking it out, but having multiple employees being positive of equipment being available only for them to be told by a manager that it actually isn't is a bad look as it shows lack of communication and possibly training as well as creates a possible safety risk for first time users. I'm really hopeful this part is improved upon at this location, however after this experience I likely won't try the red light or tanning pods until I do enough research to feel comfortable knowing that I myself know the saftey procedures of the machines and what all they require.

I've gone a couple times & it's great! It's super clean, modern & spacious. I love the layout, compared to the Potranco location. I noticed that there's a lot of machines & equipment that's unavailable at other locations. My fave is the Spa area; it's super nice & has upgraded technology & a better layout (more privacy). The staff are all friendly, upbeat & helpful. Thanks, everyone!
