I have been a member for over two years now and I really enjoy my workouts and I used to look forward to using the massage chair but for the last six months the homeless man that lives in his truck hangs out at the massage chair all day every day no matter what time of the day I go weather 8 am or 2 am he is there. I don't think that he should be allowed to live at the gym. I will be changing gym just because of that.

They did some kind of remodel. Got rid of the machines I was using, even the yoga balls. Some machines are too close together. And yes I spoke to front desk, their solution, I can check the other locations. No I can't, I would have to sign up as new at another location which would be farther away and now they raised the fee to $16. Why would I do that. Seriously thinking about joining the gym closer to me. 5 minutes away and 10 monthly. And $1 to join.

This gym is disgusting. I keep seeing people on reviews complaining about staff infections and it makes sense because I came here to report that they don’t have soap in the bathrooms. The whole gym is covered in dust and it smells horrible. The bathrooms have feces smeared on the walls and the staff is completely unwilling to do literally anything to help the guests. I’ve never been to a planet fitness as bad as this one. They don’t have enough stair masters which is literally the reason I joined this gym and out of the four that they do have only one works. This gym is a nightmare.

This location had always had the basic PF equipment till recently when they brought in all new equipment. They did a wonderful job on the transformation of this location. The ONLY reason that I am not giving this particular location 5 stars is because they did remove the 1 and only stretch machine that they had. In my opinion they still seem to have plenty of space to have at least 1 but perhaps even 2 stretching stations. I hope they will consider adding at least 1 in the future. However other than that they do have great adminities for the cost of a monthly membership.

I go there to shower and this is the place where your not judged I feel kind of weird but because I'm homeless right now and I said to the front staff and they said did you pay your $10 and I said yes and they said they didn't stand there all night if you want to!

EDIT 7/11/25- PF recently updated their equipment and added several plate loaded machines, updated and more Smith machines, more dumbbells and benches, and my personal favorite- 3 Olympic free bars with squat rack and deadlift platforms! They also have a turf and sled. I already loved this gym, and they heard the suggestions and actually made some great improvements. I'm so super happy with this location.

I love this location! It's not the closest one to me, but I still prefer to come here because it's much larger than others on this side of town. I seldom have to wait for equipment, everything including bathrooms and locker rooms are clean, and the people are courteous. Other locations seem to have more folks who aren't aware of gym etiquette, but I almost never run into that here. Staff is always friendly and helpful if you need help. Otherwise they are good about just letting people do their thing. Not sure why some have complaints about the staff because they are always lovely! (I usually go sometime between 5am and 1pm) If I had any criticism it would be PLEASE PF, get a couple free Olympic bars or some more of the fixed weight bars that go up to ~ 150lb+. Otherwise the equipment selection is more than adequate especially for the price. Great value, and would highly recommend this location ✅

The new equipment is nice, but we’re disappointed the stretching chair and stretching cage are gone. It seems the only option for stretching is using a mat on the floor, if you can find the space to do so… but there’s not much room for that when it’s busy. During my time here it was great at first till summer started. The gym is constantly packed and usually it’s with kids due to it being there summer free pass. If I could give 0 stars I would. I cancelled in person FIVE YEARS ago as directed. Come to find out I’ve been charged this entire time and I don’t even live in the city. Spoke with Isabella on the phone and she was the rudest person I’ve ever dealt with. She was yelling at me on the phone and being rude when giving me ridiculous “solutions” of either coming back to San Antonio to cancel again, or to get transferred to another location near me to go cancel in person, again. They violate new FTC rules by not allowing people to cancel their membership online, the new policy states that if a company offers easy online sign up process their cancellation process needs to be just as easy to complete online. Trying to cancel your membership after not visiting location for 2 years is very difficult and also not convenient. They want you to mail a letter; not email but mail a hand written letter. Those in a major car accident two and a half years ago and it did significant damage to my spine as a result on facing several spinal surgeries and in the interim I met a pain level 14 all the time so and I recently became homeless cuz I could not work enough to pay my rent because of the accident and I ended up thank God my car is paid off living in my car so I asked myself how do I practice good hygiene well I can do campers pads but you know I needed to have access to a shower so I joined planet fitness 24-hour access shower hot and cold running water mirrors to shave in a safe safe environment no judgment at all no judging at all matter of fact I felt kind of bad about it and I mentioned to the night night guy there and you know I feel terrible cuz I know it looks weird he goes why he goes you paid your $10 standing there all night long if you want to You paid your money and I really made me feel good that they were totally understanding and you know it's really is a no judge-free zone but you know I know it must look weird You know since a guy trolling in the shower but that's not the case at all I do a lot of my exercises that my doctors taught me how to do at home cuz my insurance ran out of visits and so I had to take that into you know out of the clinic and into you know my own private home so yeah I am I'm in there a lot you know and I really feel good about it and it truly is no judgment thank you planet fitness I really appreciate it

One of the best PF locations in town. Spacious, clean, and plenty of high quality equipment that's well maintained. Overall has a newer vibe than some others I've been to, and doesn't feel cramped in the free weight area or in the stretching area, which is a common problem. This review isn't about PF in general. I mean, it's Planet Fitness. For some people, it's a $11 tax on their bank account. For others like myself, it's our only inexpensive option to lift anything besides bags full of ball bearings and tools. The two stars are relative to other PF gyms I've been to.

This Planet Fitness is "adequate" in the most stretched out use of the term. All the machines are there and then some, including a nice calestinics/jungle gym-esque set-up in the back which is a nice novelty. But on closer inspection, you start to realize that a lot of the basics have issues, which in PF's case is depressing.

For starters, a lot of the isometric machines have loose, if not destroyed, weight adjustment pins. I haven't noticed anything negative about it, but it always irks me that when I'm doing something silly like maxing out the back extension machine that the only thing separating 260 lbs from crashing on the floor and potentially injuring me is a derped up pin is a comforting thought. That problem was a rarity at the last Planet Fitness I went to and any machine that was damaged to the point of sketchyness was taken out and dealt with in a short time frame. I haven't noticed much of that in the month since I transferred here.

And despite the size of this Planet Fitness, there's a severe imbalance of machines as far as what gets used and what is available. There are probably forty treadmills, yet maybe a quarter of them are in use when I go, which for the summer is probably the peak hours of 10AM to 4PM on weekdays. Then there are only four smith machines, but they are so consistently packed, that if you aren't going during graveyard hours and you aren't watching for an open one like a hawk, you might as well forget they exist, since you will never get an opportunity to do compounds. There are four ab machines scattered across the gym in far reaching locations. There's an entire section dedicated to shoulder presses with every variation of purple from the 90s to today, but only two of each for legs tucked in the non-mirrored corner of leg day. Here might be the only location where I use the "30 Minute Workout" section since I can actually do close to a full routine in relative peace and not have to either wait for weights or do front delts for the billionth time. The previous one I was at had probably half the floor space, yet a more sensible balance of machines, so you rarely were stuck without what you wanted.

And to hit back on the barely adequate note, the lighting is somewhere in between "garage gym at seven in the evening" and "cave entrance fifty feet in". It's enough to see where you're going if you have a clear head, but when you just hiked half a mile in 100° weather and did 3x10 deadlifts, you typically don't have the clearest of heads. It can get hard to navigate at times despite it being two o'clock in the afternoon. Like turn on the bright lights a little.

Then there's the water fountain situation. It ain't cold. It's barely lukewarm. Like, I understand that you want to sell drinks, but given all the other minor issues that I've had here, I'm more than willing to put in some cardio and walk down to the gas station a quarter mile across the parking lot to guarantee cold water.

Also, while Planet Fitness has never had a killer music selection, the last one I was at had the decency to play something outside the wheelhouse of late-2010s to current EDM. I even got a few Vietnam flashbacks with some 60s songs once in a blue moon on certain days. Even some cheesy 90s NRG and Europop would do the trick.

And while I'm hardly the most sociable person to ever socialize in society, this Planet Fitness feels... non-social. Like, the last one I went to, I had to be a misanthrope to get the front desk to stop wishing me a good day, and even that didn't work most days. Here, I rarely get a good afternoon or anything else. I personally don't mind too much, I don't come to the gym for social hour, but it should be noted.

I've been coming to planet fitness for about 4 years, if not right under. When I first signed up I had missed an annual payment the runs once a year ($40). I hadn't noticed it until recently that it was brought to my attention at the beginning of 2024 by some of the coworkers. Every other annual and monthly payment has never been missed once, just one payment from when I first signed up. When it was made apparent to me I told them ( managers ) that when I get the chance I will make the payment slowly because I just got a job that paid less and I had my bills set to what I exactly made and when I had side money I would come in and pay it, it's been a tough position for me in 2024. The managers were very sweet Shelby (which Justin told me to disregard her that she is a female and young and doesn't do the job right since she can't get aggressive with the guests nor good at confrontation) I told him that was very rude just because she's a female) and another older darkskin handsome gentleman (Justin also made comments that he wasn't here so what he said doesn't matter anymore) but especially that man he would help me with making sure I'm not working out wrong. Today on July 28 I tried to come in and have a workout right before I was going to be heading to work and a staff member named Justin pulled me over and asked me about the annual I had once said I would pay but hadn't. I told him my position and apologized but that I could definitely get to it on Wednesday when I get paid. He proceeded to call me a liar because that is what I told him last time which I did say I would pay it soon and never denied saying but I stated again in which I've been in a tight position with money. He told me for that sake I cannot come in and workout. Although I've never missed or messed up any payment other than the one. I told him I have never been warned to not be allowed back in the gym if the payment wasn't made, Again all the managers have been very honest about the importance of me needing to pay it which of course I understand yet they we're understanding. I believe Justin got into a power trip and started saying well the managers not here I'm in charge and you cannot workout since you haven't paid it; I prompted to show him my bank account with my bills lol he didn't turn an eye and told me to leave. I stated again that I was never told I was going to be losing gym privileges by said manager but I understand if that ends up being the case since it had been so long. I then mentioned to him that since I was never informed of losing gym privileges (and I've been coming here for 4 years) , and said well I get paid on Wednesday I can make a payment then do you mind letting me have this workout today since I'm already here: and if you could just please put a note in my planet fitness account that if I do not make a payment by Wednesday, I'd understand my gym privileges being revoked, a warning at the least. He said no that I needed to leave the gym and I cannot work out because I'm a "liar" . Which I felt that, that was rude I know my part I know that I do need to make that payment but I truly haven't been in the position to expend extra money but I swore to Wednesday, he told me no and to get out now. For someone that's been paying for 4 years I bring sometimes bring candy to the front desk I'm cool with all the workers and If not the majority. Justin has completely ruined my experience I made the comment that I didn't go about getting to that payment the way I should've and I admitted I could've and should've done better on my part and then I told him he should apologize for his abruptness he said no and has no regret in his aggressive position that was also put in check by his coworker. Be aware they do not train their employees adequately. If you ask a question to somebody at the front desk you better make sure they’re a manager because all of the regular employees do not know policy. I was told that I could cancel my membership the day before the yearly fee will kick in. apparently I had to do it a week before. nobody told me that they’re refusing to refund me from my yearly fee so just be aware when you ask questions in person you better make sure you’re talking to a manager because everyone else doesn’t know what the hell they’re talking about.

I moved out of san antonio about two years ago and was in contact numerous times with both the location there as well as where i live now attempting to transfer my account and got nowhere with it. today was an entirely different story, i called regarding a billing issue and Amy answered. She was extremely polite and adamant on resolving this issue for me whatever way she could. I was actually a bit surprised at how much she cared to help me! Patrick the manager called me back shortly and finally after two years sent my transfer through without me even asking for that, so i could handle the issue easier HERE. A worker just walked in on my wife in Tanning Room #1 after she had door locked trying to tan. Absolutely ZERO reason for that to have happened. She signed in at the front and they assigned her a room so it’s not that they didn’t know someone was in there and they can monitor it as well at the desk. Both of our memberships will be getting cancelled TODAY and anyone else that i can get to do the same. No explanation or reasoning given.

Nothing special. Canceled my membership because of PF's policies of allowing men into the women's locker rooms. Told me "We haven't had any trouble here." I answered "Not yet." Go to Gold's Gym instead.

I hate the new version of their elliptical machines. It’s no wonder no one was on them. All the other machines were good. I just have to say that two people at the desk had a personality of a wet sock.

I recently visited this gym to inquire about memberships, but my experience was disappointing. When I arrived, Patrick was busy onboarding a new hire, which I was understanding of. He asked me to wait a few minutes, which I did patiently. During this time, I started a conversation with another guest to learn more about the gym. It wasn't until several minutes into this conversation that Patrick acknowledged me again, stating that someone would assist me soon.

After waiting for at least 10 minutes (though no more than 15) from when I first walked in, a young woman approached me to help. While she was nice, it was clear she was uninformed about her job role. She couldn't explain anything about the memberships, specifically the $1 down promotion I was asking about. She repeatedly turned to Patrick for answers, and his responses were vague at best. She would return with a simple "yeah" to my questions without any real explanation, not out of rudeness, but because she seemed unsure and untrained.

Feeling increasingly uncomfortable with the situation, I decided to leave without signing up. Patrick's lack of acknowledgment and apparent inability to properly train employees left a bad impression. I'm relieved I didn't join this location. It's puzzling how they have positive reviews, but perhaps customer service standards are different in this area. As someone who works in customer service/retail myself, I found the experience quite unsatisfactory.

It unprofessional to call me your friend, as you couldn’t even make me a customer.

Also if you would like to post the regional managers email I would be happy to share my experience with them.

Since you can’t really offer the best when average is barely present with the customer service. (:

My wife & I have traveled a lot and have been to many other gyms; we've been members of other, national 'brand name 'gyms as well. We enjoy this Planet Fitness facility and agree between ourselves that it is by far the best gym we've ever been in.

10 años de miembro y hoy me tocó la peor tipa del mundo, no me dejó entrar porque según mi cuenta estaba con el nombre de mi esposa y tenía que ponerla a mi nombre estando los dos en ese momento. Que ella no podía hacer cambios en la cuenta que teníamos que ir a la calle nacadoches, total tuve que ir a esa calle para cancelar mi cuenta, ya que ella tampoco podía cancelar mi cuenta hay , me moví a LA Fitness más caro pero mucho mejor
