I just recently returned to Planet Fitness. I've always liked the gym, and I still do. The equipment is varied and if a certain one is occupied, there's always another one to take its place. But there is ONE THING that I've found at Planet Fitness that irritates me: people are allowed to sit on a piece of equipment while using their phones....and they seemingly don't have any compunction about inconveniencing other members.I know it's hard to ban the use of phones, but a sign (somewhere) should be posted reminding members that the equipment should not be confused with a phone booth..

The gym is closed and they have a sign on the door. The more professional thing to do is send all your Sherman members an email notifying them of the closure. Planet Fitness owner, please don’t respond with your generic message of contacting the local manager. If that were possible, it would’ve been done. Fix the root cause by protecting your brand and your customers. Do better.

Always something with this gym. A/c works here and there, heat is the same, somethings always broke in the mens room. In town for a couple days off of work and cant even use the gym because they're "doing renovations". They wont be getting the next monthly payment and I will be going to nautilus family fitness from now on

People always on their phones in there, sometimes with their AirPod. Yapping away and workers do nothing. It’s getting worse and starting to make the place unusable and employees don’t care. Today someone was so loud I could even hear him over my music. It’s also warm when it’s hot outside a lot. (Low star rating bc the place will hound you if you submit practically ANY feedback that is negative…but as far as I can tell don’t do anything about it, just want the stars—hence all the high ratings.) UPDATE: note that they’re asking me to followup with the manager. Don’t ever do that it’s a trap. They get it on record and then they start looking at you funny the rest of the time. This corporation is not about fixing things—they’re about trying to get you to stop noticing problems.

I really enjoy coming to this gym, I’m not from this area. I moved out here from Waxahachie area and was real sceptical about joining a gym in this area. I really didn’t think they would be as great as the ones back home, I was so surprised when I walked in this gym in Sherman and saw all the equipment they have here. It’s actually way cleaner and nicer than the ones back home lol. Not to mention the employees at the front are always so sweet and always welcome you with a smile and are happy to help with anything you might need! Love love this Gym. I’m glad me and my daughter joined here:)

"If I could give zero stars, I would. I've been complaining about the hot water at this Planet Fitness for months, but management keeps insisting there’s ‘nothing wrong’—even though other reviews mention the same issue. Instead of addressing my concerns, they were extremely rude, refused to give me the regional manager’s contact information, and even asked me to leave. To make things worse, after I left, a manager followed me outside, started arguing, and even threatened to fight me. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable behavior. Avoid this place at all costs!

I have tried a few gyms and never felt comfortable. I do here. Even when it's more crowded it's big enough and has enough equipment there isn't a crowd for 1 machine. The staff has always been very nice and welcoming and helpful. Very clean and always smells nice.

Update, after contacting customer service as they requested, it's a circus, endless AI generated responses Never spoke with a real.person.

I confronted an older male Pervert watching young girls, he tried to walk into the girls locker room and then was trying to talk to me about the girls bottoms like I was his friend. Never saw the man before at the gym.
My membership was cancelled by the manager the next day....
I have been a member over two years.
Update, the GM told me to take it up with the manager at Sherman location ,that manager is the one that cancelled my membership...

I've been a member here for maybe 2 years.
I have managed Lifetime Fitness, Trophy Fitness clubs and started out at 24hr Fitness when i was in my early twenties. This is by far the worst gym I've attended. No customer service, I've never been greeted, ever. I've been asked to get off of a treadmill twice so they can straighten it. The smell of burnt popcorn while you're trying to workout and breath it's the last thing a health conscious person wants to smell while working. Out. Get your staff a break room. And when i canceled today. No one asked why. Horrible the way they run this gym.. I'd have everyone in sherman Denison attend if i was a manager

I have been going to PF for the last 5 years. I have been very pleased with the way this facility is run and cleaned. The staff is always cleaning, dusting or checking on the mechanics of the machines. I'm greeted as I check in (contactless now) and the manager decorates and makes the place festive for holidays. If you see any equipment not working/in repair...I can tell you they don't stay that way for long. It's a great environment to exercise!!

I have been a loyal member of this gym for several years and have always followed the rules and respected the environment. However, I recently had an extremely disappointing encounter with the manager regarding a “policy” that, apparently, has existed for years but was never communicated to me—not once. For over three years, I have consistently worked out in the same area, wearing the same type of attire, without a single issue or complaint. Suddenly, out of the blue, I was approached and reprimanded for violating a policy that I wasn’t even aware of. When I brought up the fact that I had been doing the same thing for years without issue, I was met with an unprofessional and dismissive attitude.If this was truly a policy, why wasn’t it enforced or communicated from the beginning? A simple conversation or clarification would have sufficed. Instead, I felt singled out and disrespected, which is unacceptable, especially as a long-term member. It’s frustrating to feel like your loyalty and commitment to an establishment mean nothing. I hope management takes feedback seriously and works on better communication and treating members fairly. No where does it state you cannot wear boots in the handbook and also talks about protruding grommets on pants which has never been brought to my attention, i’m very disappointed after all these years someone has to go and kick me out for a policy i was never made aware of even the fact that not grommets, buttons or metal pieces were on the pants in any way. Thanks for the hospitality, i will never be coming or going to a planet fitness again thanks “manager” with the unprofessional behaviour!

This is a solid plant fitness location. It has a touch more atmosphere than most, and they have a really nice style of massage chairs that are brand-new. The staff was friendly. There is a good variety of equipment, and none of it seemed to be out of order.

I joined planet fitness in March 2024 when I was in Sherman Tx. I decided to not stay but come back home to Colorado. I questioned the Staff about canceling this and I understood I could walk in to any Planet Fitness prior to the tenth and cancel. I came home did t contact my gym here for several months. When I did contact them I was told I could not do this in Colorado. I was told to send an email to my home gym to cancel. I did so and kept getting charged so I sent a notice that any future charges would be disputed. I received a response saying I had to send a written letter to my home gym now. My frustration is being incorrectly inform by your staff!! This has been. Terrible experience with Planet Fitness!

I recently moved to Sherman. Today is my 3rd time coming to this gym. I have yet to be greeted by staff. Although all 3 are standing at the desk not a single one has welcomed me in since coming here. The staff here are very rude, and im seeing more and more of this since being in the news... Six stars! Really excellent location! Whomever designed this should design the rest of them.

It's 7 years old, I'm told, and it is better than most of the new ones, I'll tell you.

I love the graphics and the finer details and all the accents that make this place so amazing.

And the 3-ft-high barrier walls direct the energy in the proper places -- but don't occlude it.

And Davene, the hostess with the mostest, is an amazing and awesome third-shift worker who actually attends to the needs of the location including cleaning and organizing. ( Most other third shift people just sit on their phone and do nothing.)

And the bulbs in bed number one are crazy strong!

The bad thing about me writing this is that it was my first day getting a gym membership with this company not to mention I chose the black card membership... when first signing up everything was great I loved the vibe I was super happy to join and be a part of the gym. I went in about 9:30ish to the gym exercise for a bit and then the employee Tiffany came up to me expressing that the machine I was learning to use was making too much noise and there was a lot of people complaining. Told me that I don't need to use it because it's making too much noise. I think that is so rude and she could've asked if I needed assistance on it, I was trying to figure out how much weight was going to be needed for me to be able to use it properly without hurting myself. If this is how people are treated when going there I will never go there again. Also she's very rude when she answers the phone and has conversation. I don't think I would suggest this establishment to anyone I know after this experience.
