I am officially a Planet Fitness defender. All the negatives you hear on bodybuilding forums are complete bunk, at least with this location. It's been nothing but fantastic. The girl with glasses during the 3PM weekday shift is excellent and every weight is completely adequate + clean.

Big shout out to the staff! They are always super friendly and keep the gym spotless, with cleanliness at the highest standard. I’ve been going to this location since about the time they opened, and everything still looks pretty much brand new. The gym itself is large and has plenty of equipment - even during the busiest times, I’ve never had trouble finding space to myself.

What makes Planet Fitness a great place is more about the people than the machines. I have been using a trainer (Chris Palavicini) three times a week. I have gotten a lot of good advice about supplements that has increased my muscle mass, endurance, energy levels. The correct supplements have helped me control leg cramps, due to cycling, since the manager was a long time competitive cyclist. I came here seeking answers about improving my fitness stamina, and longevity, and now at age 67, I am more fit, stronger, leaner, than I have ever been. I have received benefits from less conventional techniques, such as a focus on core training and balance training, which almost all older people can benefit from. They helped me track my caloric intake, which has assisted in weight loss, and an understanding of how much food is needed to be strong without overeating. If you are determined to improve yourself, this is a great place to come for knowledgeable advice and an effective training program .

I really enjoy training at this location! Nikki and Chris P are both fantastic trainers—supportive, knowledgeable, and realistic in their approach. Nikki consistently designs creative and effective workouts that have been instrumental in helping me rehab my knees. Chris is efficient and goal-oriented, offering insightful homework assignments that strike a great balance between the movements I enjoy and the ones I need to reach my lifting goals.

The gym itself is well-equipped, with plenty of squat racks, Smith machines, and a solid variety of other machines and free weights. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, which makes the environment even better. Highly recommend!

Planet Fitness at the Colony is an awesome place. The layout is perfect and it is so very clean. Mainly, thanks to the dedicated team member, Gladys. When I am working out, I see her relentless effort in cleaning the entire facility. I am so impressed with her work ethic, but also her skill and dedication. Affordable price and simple check in process. The personal training program is great. My trainer Maria is knowledgeable and can work with my schedule. She listens to my feedback and pushes me to be better! The rest of the staff is great and always greets me when I come in and tells me to have a good day when I leave. Nikki is great at being a motivator too. I look forward to coming to exercise here. It is also always clean with stocked cleaning supplies. And the bathrooms are always pleasant to use.

Over all the gym is fine it's clean and equipment is fine. There is one problem though. I can't have my gym bag with me while I'm in the floor. Why is the only plant fitness that does this at of all the locations I go to, and there is a lady that makes you feel like a criminal if you do that. I find it ridiculous and pointless.

This location went smart on the bathrooms. Each is separate WITH a shower! The gym looked clean and well lit. Equipment is in good order. Sadly, the same complaint here as the other locations...poor air flow in bathrooms. It took me twice as long to dry off enough to dress as it took to shower. Maybe consider mounted fans?

I split my time between multiple gyms and signed up to PF because I need a place that is close that I can go do cardio. I was surprised by this facility. Not like any other PF. Lots of smith machines and actually has a barbell section if you want to do free weights.

Plenty of workout machines and cardio equipment. Selfish me wishes it stays a hidden gym because I went in at noon and it wasn't too crowded compared to places like EOS where its like packing sardines in a can.

The hours are a bit weird. 24 hours except on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays but that maybe their slowest times but its still wish it was a true 24/7 gym as I wake up at 3:15 every day and like to get a morning workout in so that leaves me to go to other gyms on those days

I had a weird situation happen at this gym that I’ve never experienced elsewhere. I’m trying to get back into working out so one of my good friends invited me to join her at PF under her buddy pass, especially since I was already considering joining (this was my 2nd workout with here). At the start of the workout I was stopped by Nikki and Maria to sign a liability form , which I understand is standard. But then I found myself being interrogated about other unrelated matters and was never given the liability form in the end.

Anyways, went back to working out with my friend and I noticed Maria walking by and seemingly taking a photo of me and my friend without our consent. This blatant disregard for privacy is unprofessional.
I was unaware that having a friend make sure that I was working out properly and sharing her workout with me would cause a problem?
I’m not sure if I should consider a membership here when there’s staff members that lack understanding of professionalism

OMG.. This gym is Amazing. Brand new gym, brand new equipment, more than any other Planet I have been to across the country. I travel for work and this by far the best. If I lived in the area this would be my gym. I belong to Lifetime also, but this gym has better equipment, and it isn't even close. Kudos Planet!

My husband and I just joined Planet Fitness and so far we've been impressed. You can't beat the location, the staff is very friendly and there is a ton of good quality equipment to use. We've never had an issue with long wait times to use the equipment or other amenities (we got the Black Card Membership), but we also don't go during peak hours either. All in all, this has been a good investment for us.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this gym today. While I was in the shower, someone repeatedly turned the water on and off—even after I directly asked them to stop. Instead of respecting that, they continued doing it without saying a word.

After getting dressed, I stepped out to try and identify who was responsible. As I was leaving and saying goodbye to the staff, I noticed a tall individual with a grin on his face. I then overheard a comment and laughter coming from the front desk area, making it very clear that the incident had been intentional and was being treated as a joke.

I’ve been a long-time member, and this kind of behavior—especially being tolerated or encouraged by staff—is completely unprofessional and unacceptable. This is not the type of environment I want to support, and I’ll be taking my business elsewhere. Respect and accountability should be a baseline standard for any community-based facility.

This is one of the best locations in the country. I’m a truck driver so first concern is parking and this place isn’t uptight about it, big parking lot and no stupid signs, plenty of room to park out of the way. Showers were good and first time I’ve seen the individual stalls, I wish there were benches to sit and put my shoes on though. All equipment was brand new feeling and even some machines and a dead lift area and more smith machines than I’ve seen anywhere else in America. Thanks for the great experience and hopefully I’ll be back

The staff was friendly and happy to help, the building is brand new as is the equipment. The lack of space/equipment for the large number of members was a real issue for me trying to get in and out quickly. There was no traditional locker rooms only single person rooms and during peak times you stand in the hallways in line waiting for a turn to change or even just a quick bathroom break, this was my ultimate reason for canceling my membership. I have been a memeber at multiple PF locations in the US, but this is the only one I have disliked enough to cancel in my first week. It was such a missed opportunity to bring a really nice gym to the colony area, highly disappointed in this franchise owners decisions.

I, too, was (now) a former Texas Family Fitness member, but have decided to give this gym a chance. My membership was transferred and is actually less than my TFF membership (maybe because I transferred it early). Yes, the gym is “uber purple” BUT there is more equipment AND new equipment with more options. The “Big Enchilada” membership (can’t remember what it’s called) has more perks. I will come back later and either upgrade the stars or downgrade them depending on my experience there

Perhaps just being a bit salty, but I am giving 4 stars when the staff deserves actually deserves 5 stars. But closing at 7:00pm on Saturday and Sunday is laaaame. Made me sad. I feel like there are a bunch of missed opportunities with people who would workout here, but they are people who primarily work out at nights on weekends. I usually try to go in the mornings on weekends but I went for a night workout just to discover they close at 7:00pm on weekends.

The staff deserves 5 stars because they do a great job of keeping the place clean and that’s critical to a good gym. Especially the bathrooms which has to be the least fun part of their job. The staff makes this location great.

I’ll give the 5th star when they close at 10:00pm on Saturday and Sunday!

But that doesn’t mean I don’t love this gym. I was a convert from the nasty 24hr fitness across the highway and I’m happy to be here!

I am tire of this Gym!! They request you to have 2 cards on file so there is a backup card incase the first payment method fail. The problem is that they are charging my too cards for the same membership, and looks like there is not way to fix this issue. I spoke with the employees several times. They said that they couldn't refund the money, but they wouldn't charge me for the next month. However, the next month, they charged my two cards again. Watch out because they are going to rob you without shame!!

Did my first solo this morning at Planet Fitness across from GRANDSCAPE in The Colony. What a wonderful experience due to an employee there named CHRISSY. First of all, she smiled the entire time and made me feel very welcomed even though I’m 80, my first time by myself, and the deer in the headlights look. She showed me how to log in, took my picture, taught me how to lock my personal items up, and got me set up for my favorite-the 10 minute massage. She is a great communicator and teacher. She listened to me very intently to my questions and stories. When you’re my age, you have stories. Very few young people listen to-but Chrissy knew I was nervous. I couldnt believe all the things that were in here. I love how organized it was. Tones of machines & space! The workout machines are nice and generally I do not need to wait very long in order to do the different stations on the circuit training route. I wished people would not be looking at their cell phones and surfing the internet while sitting on some of the different machines, but I guess that is more commonplace now. I do not like the set up for showers. Unlike some of the other Planet Fitness locations I have used in the past (Lewisville and Granbury), this one does not have a locker room. It has 4 individual bathrooms ( 3 of them are shower/toilet combinations, and 1 is just a toilet). Alot of times there is a wait line trying to use them. If people are taking showers, then there is only 1 room with a toilet available, which in the 6 weeks that I have been using this location that room with just the toilet is normally Out of Order and it takes weeks to get it back up and running. Very frustrating. I do very much prefer the set up of the other locations where there is a true locker room which eliminates this problem.

What an absolute joke! I was forced to transfer from Texas family fitness and was charged a $60 fee the week of the switch. Have been coming here to work out and all of a sudden told, oh no I need to sign a new contract and pay another $70 in registration fees or I can’t work out. When I asked about the previous fee, I was told to dispute it with my bank. Not only that, but I was told I missed the period to get the tff transfer deal. I’ve been here several times and was just asked for my phone number and told to go work

I've been an active gym goer for many years. From Bally's, to 24 hour, LA Fitness and Planet Fitness. What you get with PF is a basic gym, nothing fancy just your basic "beginner" equipment until recently. With updated equipment PF is making a bigger leap into the gym game.
This location in particular is brand new, the staff is friendly and very helpful. My only gripe is there is no actual locker room. 1 changing area and 2 small bathrooms with showers. This I see as possible being a problem for us morning workout folks who like to get in, get our workout done shower and drive to work. Other than that it's a good experience so far.
I transferred my PF membership to this location as it's closer to my home. Hope this location doesn't go downhill, I enjoy the one on round grove in Lewisville as well.

It’s not surprising that many of these reviews are from former Texas Family Fitness members upset by the switch to Planet Fitness. Some seem to expect everything to be easy, like canceling memberships, but as any regular gym-goer knows, cancellations can be a challenge no matter where you go. It’s not the fault of the staff; a quick online search will show you the correct steps to take.

The new facility on 121 in The Colony is immaculate. I really love it so far. It has ample fitness machines, squat racks, smith machines, massage, tanning and much more. It is very clean and they have equipment to manage the cleanliness. I was at Texas Family Fitness when they were sold to PF and the transition could have been smoother from the customer standpoint, as we were left in the dark. Other than that, I think I shall be happy here, a great value and a great gym, great trainers, very welcoming and friendly!

edit: they were open at 12:30pm. the nice lady at the front quickly handed me the cancelation form and i could fill it out and handed it back to her, was quick and easy. hopefully no surprise payment.

as for the gym its self, i have no idea. i didn't investigate too hard. the gym is very purple, so if you like purple the gym is perfect.
