The gym is filthy, and the experience i had with the staff is terrible. Particularly the front desk workers. They do NOT want to help you and act like its a chore to move. I wanted to cancel my membership and when I tried they practically made me freeze my account saying that way I wouldn't be charged for the month, but they still charged me. And again when I went to cancel my membership they told me even though I went 7 days before the draft date, that I would still be charged. They are loosing so many customers left and right that they need every single penny.

On 9/14/25 my son was checking in, he had on (slide) shoes when he walked in and his back pack, I was on the phone with him the entire incident. Staff member Matthew escalated his response when he asked about my sons shoes mind you me & my son were talking on the phone when he checks in) He walks in with slides everytime he walks into any planet fitness. The staff is already fimiliar with my son this location always gives me gossiping vibes when me & my son go to this location SO I RECENYLY DECIDED NOT TO VISIT THIS LOCATION ANYMORE. I just had an incident with the new club manager Rudy and the front desk rep Tim. I signed in again when I walked in and again when I used the Total Body Fitness in the Black Card Area. 12 minutes later, I wanted to use another machine in the same Black card area and I questioned why I was being asked to sign in again. Tim got an attitude and I told him I would let management know how I felt. Then, when I was getting off hydro machine the manager Rudy came saying Tim said I was a problem client and that I had called him racist in a prior incident. I had never had any other incidents with Tim, he and I were cordial and often talked about his love for baking. When I asked Rudy to call Tim so we could discuss the alleged incident of calling him racist, he told me to leave and threatened to cancel my membership. I would love to discuss this incident with the GM and corporate. The manager has no business pulling a race card lie over me questioning having to scan 4 times. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!

I have to edit my review because all was good until… I specifically purchased the black card membership to enjoy the perks that come with the services I purchased. I walked in with a backpack bc I exercise and I relax(perks that are part of the membership I purchased) An employee told me that I am not allowed to bring my backpack unless I have a lock. So then I switched to carrying my Loui Vuitton purse and then I see a black female walk in with a backpack and was not told about the policy that should apply to all gym members.
I felt racially discriminated for not being black.
I carried my Loui Vuitton and my hat and my water bottle and placed the belongings of I on the treadmill next to I because 1)there is no space on the floor and also because placing the property of I on the floor is foreign to I, however, because I travel I am learning different cultural norms.
I communicated the circumstances to Kenyame and Kenyame told I that I need a locker to place my items in.
I have seen other gym members carrying items as well and they are not reminded of policies.
The policies are not being applied to all gym members equally and that implies that the gym has disparate treatment, selective enforcement and inconsistent application of policies.
I am not a Karen because I never requested to speak to a manager, I am speaking up against abuse.
My Daddy is friends with the owner of Planet Fitness so I am going to tell my Daddy.

Great Gym unless your a Black Card Member and are coming in early in the morning. You can work out but don't expect anyone to be behind the counter to let you use any of the Black Card Membership perks. I've waited over 15 minutes at the front counter for someone to help me but no one is to be found and this has happened multiple times. I don't have this experience at any other PF locations, there is always an employee behind the front counter to help you, just this one. Poor management, and apparently poorly understaffed as only one person is working but never to be found. Not sure why anyone goes to this location that has a Black Card Membership. I know I will not again. Very frustrating.

Second time coming and a black card member. I really wanted to try out the red light room and it is supposed to be relaxing, well it was not!!! The person there told me what he thought I was supposed to press to turn the vibration on the feet on. Well, it did not work. He had set my timer for 5 minutes. I did not even get to enjoy it. He had to reset the machine prior to me going in, but he came in right when I was going in. I told him when I came out it did not work properly and they were white lights, not red, and the feet thing never came on. I got so frustrated I was not in the right mind to work out, so I waited in the black card member room until my family finished. No need to disrupt their time. I needed the foot massage on because my leg gets numb due to a disability and I told this to him after this happened, yet he still did not try to make it right. So far, two employees have let me down here. It's not worth the time. the only thing is this is close to my house. It's better to work out at home!!!!

Ok, so I understand a bit better. I spoke to Ken who is the assistant manager at this location. She stated to me she had to learn things on her own. She said the guy working is new and the other guy that let us down our first visit was also new. So either they are there just to earn a check or the owner of this facility is letting down their employees and not equipping them with valuable training for the betterment of the company and members.

The cleaning lady yesterday and the first day I was there were doing a great job and friendly as well!

Ken was working the front desk and cleaning to help out. She was very pleasant to speak with.

The owner needs to better equip his or her staff!

There should be a sign in the red light room like on the weight machines letting people know basic things on how to work the control panel in case an employee can not!

They won’t let me where my hightop shoes at the planet fitness.
I run in these things all the time throughout the day.
Long story short, the heavy set black lady at the front desk kicked me out of the planet fitness for wearing my all terrain low top boots and was told to come back with athletic shoes.
So I went to the a different planet fitness which never had any issue with my low cut boots. people are inside wearing converse which these are the same thing but better soles.

Gym is serviceable and prices look okay at first - Planet fitness is completely unwilling to cancel memberships except via snail mail or in person. I had to move to a new state for work and they were completely unwilling to work with me - not willing to transfer my membership to a new gym near me, unwilling to cancel my membership online or over the phone. I had to end up cancelling their predatory membership agreement through my bank. Easy to sign up, nearly impossible to cancel! DO NOT RECOMMEND

She is always incredibly friendly and welcoming, making sure to greet me with a smile or something funny that brightens my day. Kenyane is constantly cleaning and making sure the gym is tidy, and she always asks if there’s anything she can do to help during my visit. I use planet fitness for their black card membership. I enjoy using the massage chairs and hydro massage loungers a lot. I find them very relaxing after or during a hectic or stressful day. The price of this portion of PF's membership is less than half of what I've found with any club that offers these amenities. Another black card perc, for me, it that I can use any PF in the US. Being that I drive 300 to 500 miles a day, on average, this is a must for me.
The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I have noticed that when an amenity is broken or out of service, it can be a long time before it's back in service. That increases wait time, which is sometimes problematic.

I must say that I am thoroughly enjoying my experience here. Coming from a CrossFit-free weight background, I was concerned about adapting to the new environment. Nevertheless, after a short period, I discovered that my workouts were becoming more productive, and I was embracing the laid-back vibe. Additionally, the cost is extremely reasonable. I have been a loyal Planet Fitness member for over 10 years, and I am very frustrated with the recent changes to the gym’s operating hours. While Planet Fitness technically advertises 24/7 access, this is misleading because the gym now closes at 9 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. This inconsistency makes it difficult to maintain a regular workout routine, especially for those of us who rely on evening hours to exercise.

I’ve always appreciated Planet Fitness as a place where I could work out on my own schedule, but these reduced weekend hours are frustrating and inconvenient. For a gym that promotes itself as accessible and judgment-free, this change feels like a disservice to loyal members. If the hours are going to be limited on weekends, there should be a clear and upfront adjustment to membership pricing to reflect the reduced access.

As someone who relies on regular workouts for my mental and physical health, these changes are a significant hindrance. They will cancel you without warning for complaining people taking selfies in the changing rooms. It's a violation of their policy and Texas Penal Code law 21:15 video taping & taking photos in locker rooms. I was threaten and stalked by a member for reporting him. Nothing was done about it. The next time I complained again and Teslynn was combative and I left. I drive 10 minutes to Webster to workout & Teslynn already canceled my membership without notice. The DM called and apologized. Reinstated me but, it only got worse when I transferred to a new location who would not let me cancel over the phone or by email. I Promptly closed my checking account and debt card & charges where declined. Haha.

The staff here very kind I'm homeless disabled I can't work out but I use the hydro massage chairs and other amenities.. one manager gave me shelter recommendation I just got around to seeing what shelter she recommends and it was not a shelter it was rehab facility... Who manages this place??
They have two credit cards on file, one of the cards got lost, so they were unable to charge it, so they charged my second card, adding a $15 late fee!!!
I was out of town so when I came back, I talked to Kerri and asked her why the late charge was since you charged my other card. She said that's the way it is!! The fiasco did not stop there I told her this would be a reason to cancel my membership if I don't get a refund, and replied we don't issue a refund!!
So, she did not care about canceling the membership with my wife and two sons.
The funny part was. I got charged the annual fees for the following year even though I canceled the membership. What a scam.
Stay away from this place.

This location is close to my home. In general, I used to be a member there. I had very good experience until today.

I am a Black Card number. When I went there today (6/23/2024) at around 8:20 pm, I went there with my daughter as a guest. She also used to be a member. We checked in and did the exercises. We had a good time. After we completed, I would like to do hydramassage. The girl asked me to check in again. This was the first time during my experience in the planet fitness. I would like to say that there were about 5-6 people there. As the receptionist there, she should know who was the Black Card. At that time, I did not realize that I was targeted by her. So I did what she said. She told me that I could only use the massage by myself and turned on the hydramessage #8. I agreed and let my daughter back to gym after I would began the massage. When I went to hydramessage, none of them turned on. So I went back and she said she could turn on the massages ONLY IF my daughter stayed in the lobby. In another word, she needed to watch my daughter, who was 19 years old this year. THIS IS VERY INSULTING. So I told her that I would file an official complaint. She laughed and did not care. We went out and looked back. I found that she was pretty excited about what she was doing. Laughing and dancing. I realized that I did not have her name. So I went back and asked her name. She refused to give me her name. She also said that she would call her boss and report this. It seemed like that she had some networking there. So her boss would 100% trust and support what she had done....
Anyway, I told her that I had to take a picture if she did not give me her name. I could find out by myself. Then she told me her name. I didn't believe her. Fortunately, when I went out, I happened seeing another person to take over her shift. So I asked him her name. OMG, I AM CORRECT. SHE LIED HER NAME. It seems like she know what she did...

I went back home and decided to write the review to express my feelings. Honestly speaking, I met a lot of good employees in that location, except her. However, I also don't want to put her in the trouble. I believe that her boss could help her out to be a good employee like others.

Just got an ugly wakeup call about membership with this club. I have the black card and only to use the spa that is comprised with hydromassage, total body light therapy, tanning bed and massage chairs. It becomes expensive though, the use is limited and contingent to equipment recommendations (I used hydro and total body 3-4 x week, and just once the harsh massage chairs) I like once a while take a shower there and they have a timer making hard knocking noises above your head while in the shower about 5-10 minutes frequency. The front desk at this particular location had an unwilling front desk person that had a total unwilling attitude to serve you, and I had to log in every time I used any item in the spa. I was considering to simply go to another distant club to avoid that negative vibe right on your face, really unwilling, delaying response, avoiding eye contact, sometimes rolling eyes, absolutely the wrong person for such jobs. They want you as their member at any costs with whatever misleading promotions, but yes you get what you paid for, however, and for some reason, if you have to cancel, that will not be as simply as joining the club. To cancel, you will be forced either to send to the local club you joined a snail MAIL requesting cancellation (resistance 1), and better pay extra for certified and return receipt, or (resistance 2) forced to meet the local club manager (mo - fr) to ask for permission, explain the reason of your cancellation, go figure, a membership that is a month-to-month, and they will resist to grant you cancellation, and will harass you with whatever to force you to continue membership - they can care less if you get the service. Rest assured, they expect the members to pay more than what it clearly says. For a fact, I was demanded to pay the month ahead, plus late fee of a month that has not started, nor it was the full 30 days since I paid for the prior month, and that is not all, they want it all PLUS the annual fee, and that is about as deceptive as it gets, and if ever you will get your cancellation granted as simply as pressing a few buttons to join their membership. Check the BBB complaints! If you don't see a button to cancel a month-to-month contract, spare yourself. Honest business have clear policies on table. The membership rate only looks cheap from the outside, but what you get it is not only cheaper but also deceptive. Heed with caution! Buyer beware.

The gym is clean, I’ve never had any issues with the people at the front desk, the clientele who visit this location seem to be pleasant and “normal” most days. My negative experience comes from having my water bottle stolen from me before I started my workout. I placed it down to use the restroom, came out and it was gone. If the clientele are stealing, lord knows whatever they are doing. There wasn’t really anything the front could do to prevent it but I think I’ll start working out at home. Typically I have no issues but if this is the new norm for this place then it’s time for me to go. It may seem insignificant but I have to find a babysitter to be able to come to the gym and find the time and motivation to go. It completely ruined my workout not having hydration, and no I don’t drink water from the tap or fountain.

While here it was fine. Decided to cancel my membership as I was not attending anymore, signed and everything was told I would be charged for 1 more month and then I would be free from them. 2 months later still being charged. Went back and my account was still active. They refused and said they were incapable of issuing refunds for the time I should have stopped getting charged. No numbers to call, or people to talk to. Manager gave me the same answer over and over and was little help, this was very obvious it has happened before by the way she handled the encounter... never going back to planet fitness again.

Me and bf came in January to cancel our account in person because that’s what it says you have to do online so that’s just what we did. When we came in there, we were helped by a guy can’t really remember what he looks like but he said we would have one charge left and that our account was canceled so we got the charge last month that’s fine but then this month we get a charge? So we call and they say the manager will be in at one, so my boyfriend goes in at one and the manager didn’t really care at all said there’s nothing she can do about getting a refund when we went in there to cancel membership so don’t go here. This place is a scam. How are you gonna say my account canceled but still charge me and say you can’t refund me??

I visited yesterday to give support to my sister who is interested in joining a gym. My sister wanted to visit in person to ask questions, do a tour, and get a feel of the place before she committed. Upon walking in, we were briefly greeted by Briana who appeared to have an attitude as she wasn't friendly. She did not seem to be interested in helping us and eventually did not.

My sister told Ms. Briana the purpose of our visit and she insisted that she sign in on an iPad. She did not even specify why we had to sign into the iPad and when my sister asked, Ms. Briana just told her to open up the iPad.

So, she fills out the iPad and then another person comes to assist us. Now, this person was a lot better than Briana. Ms. Juanita assisted us, she was very nice, personable, attentive, and patient. Ms. Briana can definitely learn something from her coworker. Ms. Juanita answered all of our questions and was honest with her answers.

She gave us a tour of the facility. It's a small gym and appears to have basic amenities. Ms. Juanita gave us the pleasure of testing out the hydromassage and the massage chairs which were very comfortable with easing some tension. I did like the hydromassage as it reminded me of the Hot Springs from NC.

We even had the opportunity to meet the manager of the club. The manager was okay but seemed nonchalant. She mentioned that she exercises at a completely different gym that she works at which to me is a red flag to me.

The facility itself appears to be clean and well maintained from the first impression, however, I wouldn't choose this gym because it lacks yoga and cycling classes, no sauna, basic amenities, and most of the staff wasn't friendly. Ms. Juanita was the only one that appeared to love her job.

I have Never had a threatening and dangerous encounter from any Planet Fitness locations except this location at El Dorado next to Food Town. The manager, Elijah, kicked me out and told me, ‘We don’t need your patronage, cancel your membership and Get Out Now!!’ I was asking the staff member, Abby, questions about my membership dues and was going to see about canceling my membership when the manager, Elijah, was absolutely’Barbaric’ towards for no reason…I feel like Planet Fitness hires people like Elijah so they can mistreat customers, kick them out when they feel like it, bully, intimidate, and treat their clients how ever they want because there is no complaint number to call, and if the manager has All of the power and control, then you are at the mercy of an Absolute Tyrannical Planet Fitness Manager who can have free range to do what ever they want.

I want to leave a 5-star review for this place because it's mostly clean, and the staff is friendly. However, My daughter had a negative experience with a personal trainer named Vanessa. She was very rude and unpleasant, unapproachable. I advise not to ask her any questions because she responds abrasively. I'm surprised other members haven't reported her behavior to the manager. Establishments like this need to be careful when hiring, especially for positions that don't pay well. Some employees may use a low salary as an excuse to be rude to customers.
