I’ve been coming to Poised Fitness for about five weeks after a few friends from my neighborhood recommended it—and I’m so glad I joined! Before starting, I was walking here and there but wasn’t consistent with any kind of strength training. Now, I can definitely tell I’m stronger, lifting heavier weights, and feeling more energetic throughout the day. My clothes are fitting better too, which is a great bonus!
What I love most is how approachable and welcoming the environment is. The instructors and members are all so friendly and encouraging—it’s never intimidating like some gyms can be. No matter your age or fitness level, the classes can be easily modified to meet you where you are while still challenging you.
I especially enjoy the Functional Strength classes and the circuit-style workouts. Nothing feels extreme or jarring, but you still leave knowing you got a great full-body workout. I’ve already noticed my core and leg strength improving, and I feel so much better physically overall.
The 5am classes fit perfectly with my schedule before work—it’s quick, efficient, and effective. I’ve realized it doesn’t take hours in the gym to get great results; it’s all about consistency!
If you’re on the fence about trying it, 100% give it a shot. You’ll be amazed at how good you feel and how quickly you start seeing progress. Poised Fitness is truly efficient, effective, and challenging—in the best way!

I joined Poised Fitness about a year ago and it has been one of the best decisions I’ve made. At first, the convenience of the location caught my attention, but what really hooked me was the variety of classes, the flexible schedule, and especially the 5am time slot. As an early-morning exerciser, it’s rare to find a place that not only offers classes that early, but also makes them so motivating and enjoyable.
Since joining, my energy and confidence have soared. I love getting my workout in before the rest of my family wakes up—it sets such a positive tone for the rest of the day. The instructors are incredible, and the friendships I’ve built here make Poised Fitness feel like a second home. Every time I walk in, I feel instantly welcomed and energized. Even at 5am, the room is filled with smiles and positivity, and that energy is contagious.
The classes are amazing because they are always different, but every single one feels like a full-body workout. I’ve especially fallen in love with the heroboard—it challenges me in new ways and has helped me discover muscles I didn’t even realize I had!
Poised has truly become part of my routine. On mornings when I don’t feel like working out, I remind myself how much better I’ll feel afterward. Moving my body first thing sets the tone for the entire day, and the consistency has become second nature.
If you’re nervous about starting, don’t be. This is the most welcoming and encouraging community you’ll ever find. You don’t need to know what to do when you walk in—the instructors guide you every step of the way, and there is absolutely no judgment, only support and cheers from everyone around you.
What keeps me coming back week after week is simple: the people. Both the instructors and the members make every class fun, motivating, and rewarding. Poised Fitness is motivating, energizing, and transformative—and I can’t recommend it enough!

I started Poised Fitness after feeling stuck in my old gym routine. I was running and doing HIIT workouts, but wanted something more engaging. I joined in December, and not long after, became pregnant—yet I’ve been able to work out consistently throughout my pregnancy thanks to the supportive instructors who help me modify exercises.
The workouts set the tone for my day, give me more energy, and have made me stronger physically and mentally. I’ve even noticed better endurance and tone in my legs and arms.
The instructors and members make you feel welcome from day one, and one of my sweetest memories was when Alicia surprised me before my wedding with a sash, crown, and flower—it made me feel so cared for.
If you’re nervous about starting, my advice is simple: Just do it. You’ll never regret the energy, confidence, and community you’ll gain here.

I joined Poised Fitness thanks to a friend’s encouragement, and I’m so glad I did! From my very first class I was hooked—the variety of workouts and the supportive, knowledgeable instructors make it such a positive experience. When my family moved to Gunter, I started looking for a gym that could balance the high-intensity strength and conditioning workouts I was used to with something a little more restorative. After back surgery in late 2023, my neurosurgeon encouraged me to try Pilates—and when I found Poised Fitness, it felt like the perfect fit. They offer both the kind of strength training I love and the Pilates my body truly needs. It was a no-brainer to join!
Even though I haven’t been at Poised very long, I already feel part of the community. Everyone greets you with a smile, and it’s so nice to walk into a place every morning where people are genuinely happy to see you. The instructors do an incredible job meeting you where you are—they’re quick to modify when you need it and know exactly when to challenge you to push a little harder.
Pilates Fusion has been a game changer for my recovery. My core strength has noticeably improved (which makes my surgeon and PT very happy!). I’ve also realized that the classes your body needs most aren’t always the ones you most want to go to. Strength and HIIT have been my comfort zone for years, but Pilates challenges me in a totally different and much-needed way. It’s new, it’s humbling, and it’s helping me grow stronger in ways I didn’t expect.
When I first came in for my trial class, I was nervous I’d feel like an outsider since I was new to town and everyone might already know each other. That worry disappeared instantly. The instructors and members were so warm and welcoming—it’s such an inclusive and friendly environment. If you’re nervous to try it or afraid you won’t be able to keep up, don’t be! The instructors will guide you every step of the way, and everyone there is cheering you on.
Now, I keep coming back week after week for the community, the challenge, and the consistency it helps me maintain. Poised Fitness has been exactly what I needed to support both my body and my mindset. It’s welcoming, encouraging, and the perfect mix of strength and restoration.

When I joined Poised Fitness in January 2024, I was ready for change. I had stayed active on my own, but never felt like I was progressing. Since joining, I feel stronger, more flexible, and more confident than ever.
The instructors are amazing—they personalize workouts to meet your needs while still pushing you to new limits. I never thought I’d fall in love with Pilates Fusion, but it has completely changed the way I think about fitness. The reformer combined with weight training is unlike anything else.
At first I was nervous I wouldn’t be able to keep up, but I quickly realized this is a place where everyone encourages you. Now, I feel empowered every time I walk into class.
The friendships I’ve built here keep me motivated, and reflecting on how far I’ve come reminds me why I show up week after week. Poised Fitness feels like family—it’s given me strength, empowerment, and so much joy.

I joined Poised Fitness because I love group workouts—they keep me motivated and accountable. Before joining, I was active but unmotivated doing at-home workouts. Since starting, I’ve gained strength, confidence, and consistency. I can lift heavier and push myself further than I thought I could.
The instructors make all the difference. They’re encouraging, knowledgeable, and always help correct form so you can train safely. I’ve fallen in love with Pilates—it’s challenged me in a new way, both mentally and physically, and it keeps me coming back.

I have been working out at Poised fitness for over a year, and it's been such a rewarding part of my life! The workouts are challenging and fun but it's the people that set this place apart. I absolutely love and highly recommend Poised Fitness’s group exercise classes. The instructors are knowledgeable, welcoming, and great at offering modifications so that members of varying abilities and/or injuries can participate. The director prioritizes smart exercise by encouraging participants to be aware of their heart rate zones, focusing on functional strength training, incorporating active recovery days, etc. Great workouts and wonderful team of instructors!

Poised Fitness is a great overall workout, with clear instructions for beginners to advanced clients. The instructors are knowledgeable and very helpful, they keep classes fun and seeing local friends keeps me motivated to show up for each workout.
