Me and my partner signed up for 2 accounts. There was plenty of out of service machines constantly, KG and Pounds mixed on their machines so it was annoying to try to track progressive overload, the CrossFit class takes up the only place to deadlift or powerlift train, the sauna was always out of order. Although for most things Wes was very helpful, I specifically asked about a cancellation fee when I signed up and he said there was none. Then when I said I needed to cancel because I was moving 6 hours away they said I needed to pay for an extra month and there was a $200 cancellation fee. Absolutely not worth and if you’re looking for a high quality commercial gym there’s a Crunch fitness not far down the road. 0/10 do NOT recommend. P.S Wes, I will absolutely not be paying that cancellation fee

Crossfire class has volume so loud you can't talk to someone 3 feet away. Tried to say something to desk and he told me it is what it is . Got athletes food on my stomach back and behind my knees. Try to find a cleaner gym with better customer service. Not worth the 35 bucks

Sauna for the men's is broken, no information on whether/ when they will fix/replace it, they charge a yearly renewal fee, half the gym is closed for cross fit most of the time, employees are rude, you can't use a free day pass if you were once a member even if it was 8 years ago, equipment is wore down an old, wouldn't recommend signing up if you are expecting anything other than a quick cash and grab gym that only cares about money..... makes me wonder if they are going under

Pretty good gym had so many equipment and training plans
Just watch for the gym hours and people congestion inside, sometimes theres a lot of members that you can’t perform workouts or restrict some of them
In my opinion needs to expand for the quantity of members holding inside at a time and update their facility

If I could, I'd leave zero start. I got treated like trash by the employees and when brought up to management I was treated the same way and even flipped off by one of the owners. This place is definitely not community oriented and only out for themselves. I switched to them from Exygon because of a special they were running, but now in hind sight I see that I never had an issue at Exygon customer service and equipment. In my opinion Powerhouse is subpar in equipment and definitely customer service. All employees treat you like trash and laugh in your face! It's sad that a local owned business will treat locals this way...

At the time of registration, I asked a guy named Randy that I was looking for a gym where there is no cancelation fee for your membership, and he said they don't charge you any fee for cancelation. I want to let you know it is a lie; you have to give them 30 days' notice and proof of relocating to avoid a cancelation fee. Just don't fall into his trap. Oh, he also hangs up on you if you try to explain it to him over the phone!

I’ve been going to gyms for over 20 years in the Woodlands, TX area. It was much to my amazement to come to Power House Gym and see the high standards and expensive cardio and weights the gym had for its member. They even have assault treadmills which are sorely lacking in my other gym membership. I think this is top of the line gyms in 150 mile radius. Don’t miss out

I had a amazing experience at this gym. I hadn’t been in a gym in 8 months not to mention I hadn’t worked out for 6 months after giving birth to my son and I came across a post on Facebook about the six week challenge,I decided to give it a shot. Mike, Susan and Jason are amazing coaches and take time with each person in directing them on how to work out safely and get the best results. By the end of my six weeks I hit my goal and couldn’t be happier. I would recommend this gym to everyone.They also have other classes like Zumba,indoorcycling,Pilates,yoga,and even childcare.Also the staff was always helpful and friendly. I travel a lot with my guy because of his job and we have tried plenty of gyms but this one by far is my favorite and I look forward to continue to use this gym when we are in the area.

If I could give this gym a 0 I would. His was the most horrible experience that I have ever had. I was treated like a dog after being a member here for over 2 years. I have not attended the gym for over a year due to the way that they treat people, but I thought that I was still on contract. When I spoke on the phone with someone on July 26, 2018 they told me that I was not on contract anymore and that I could cancel. When I went there to do so the lady at the front desk called the manager out and it went down hill from there. He was so disrespectful during the entire conversation. When I tried to stop the conversation because he was being so RUDE he started yelling, "WATCH YOUR HANDS". I didn't know if I should run out of the door or just stand there because AT NO TIME DID I MOVE MY HANDS AGGRESSIVELY TOWARDS HIM AND NOBODY ELSE. I felt like he was going to hurt me. I am 5'1 and was standing about 4 or 5 feet away from him with the counter in between us. I was so scared I called 911 for them to send a police officer. The girl at the counter act like she was cancelling my membership and told me to sign the signature pad and I did so. It was after they printed it out is where I saw that they make you pay for 30 more days. All of this is for $32.00. I emailed the owner several times and called twice. Finally someone emailed me back and told me not to call for the owner any more. Can you believe the nerve of this company. The police department told me not to come back there because of a safety issue that I have. After reading some of these review I understand that I am not alone. They have treated others like me the same way. They are still fighting me for the $32.00. smh

Horrible!! POOR customer service which led me to cancel everything. Cancelled both Cross fit and member ship in May 2018 and here it is August and I’m still being charged for membership. Spoke with Lindsey in accounting and she was of no help. They conveniently have one cancellation in the system but not the other.

The owners do not operate in integrity.

Update 09/04/18- I was able to locate my copies of the cancellation forms and disputed it with my bank. I received my money back and the next day Power House had their collection agency call me. So I politely sent them the same info and requested that they refrain from calling me. Moral of the story. KEEP ALL DOCUMENTS GIVEN TO YOU.

I actually go to this gym. I got a good deal on a 2 year contract but they always have good deals going on. They have a crossfit gym inside that you can use when classes aren't going on, as well as kick boxing and they offer lots of other classes. They have spacious private changing rooms in the womens bathroom as well. They also have a juice bar and a daycare. The layout is a little odd, but they have it set up the best way for the space. It does get really busy in the afternoons, but that's any gym. I like it because the owner really seems to care about what the customers want. I told him that exogyn had a sauna when I toured one day and when I went back a few months later they had added one to the women's room. Im not sure about the mens, but im assuming they have one as well. I really don't have anything negative to say about powerhouse, it's a great gym.

The gym itself is great and super clean. The issues came when we had to cancel due to moving. When we signed the contract, we were told that since we were oilfield, we could just use our driver's license as proof of move when we had to later relocate. Obviously we now know that was false. When I went to cancel the memberships, I paid the $100 each to cancel. At that point I was told that only my husband's membership would be drafted for another month, and that mine wouldn't. Now I am getting daily phonecalls from ABC financial because they say I owe another month. All this extra nonsense could have been avoided if the gym staff was just honest about what charges we would have had from the start. If the only way you feel you can secure memberships is by lying, then you need a better system. I have called to try get a better understanding of why I was deceived, and all I get is attitude and then hung up on by staff.

I work out of town and out of State alot. Sometimes I may be in for only a week to three weeks. Randy helped me get a good deal, he also toured me around the gym. This gym is by far one of the best gyms I've ever been to. The have different sections for different athletes and tempos of working out. Also, had to put this in there. This is a week after Hurricane Harvey hit. Randy has been letting U.S. Army soldiers sleep, wash up, and workout at the gym for free. That immediately earned my respect. I think very highly of this place

Bad experience at this gym. The first trainer overcharged us for months, then my wife and I were bounced from trainer to trainer(one trainer would frequently not show up). When I asked the manager about respectfully removing the cancellation fee, he refused. Even though we came in from Beaumont every morning for six months. Apparently keeping 200 dollars was more important than a good name and reputation.

Horrible gym. Being yelled at for deadlifting. They have a cross fit room to use but it's never actually usable when it's supposed to be...cleaning lady asking to check the bottom of our shoes while we are in the middle of lifting because she's worried we may have gotten the floor dirty (which we didnt). When I did complain about all the broken equipment (1 out of 4 stair steppers broken, back rower broken, leg press broken..all broken for weeks, not just days) the manager guy got offensive and kept saying he did his part and ordered the equipment so it isn't his fault they aren't fixed...the only friendly staff in that whole place were the girls that worked in the childcare and a couple of the girls at the front desk. Everyone else was very stuck up, rude, never smiling..just all around miserable...ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE.

I travel with my job often and workout at Powerhouse Gym Port Neches when in the area. I have worked out at many Clubs around the country and have always found Powerhouse Gym to be Super clean , well equipped , with a very friendly and accommodating staff. The Owners do a very good job of maintaining the equipment as well as adding new and unique pieces. I look forward to training here whenever I am in the area. I would highly recommend this club to anyone regardless of their level of fitness.

On my fourth day there i was approached by the owner who then proceeded to get in my face and yell that i could not be in that room (spare room they have) because they had a class going on (like 7 people where in that big room) but i was never informed of this rule and i had previously been in there for 45 minutes with the class and they said nothing. Then she told me i could not slam the weights while deadlifting but i was not even slamming them the only noise i was making is of the weights barely touching the floor i made sure of that. Everything would have been fine if she would have politely informed me of this and had a shred of common courtesy but no she got in my face and yelled the whole time. I cancelled my membership the next day and i will never go back and highly recommend anyone looking for a gym go elsewhere.

When I first joined the gym I had a great time there. Friendly workers, great environment, and decent equipment. Three months in, they've change a large amount of there staff. This new staff is unfriendly, does not greet members, and throws off a bad vibe. Also ever since the staff has changed I've been yelled at by employee sayings its too loud when i dead lift. The golden rule is "never mix religion with business". In this case, the religious atmosphere is turning more into a "cult" atmosphere. The owners have a very "standoff-ish" attitude with the members of the gym. May it be voluntary or involuntary, the owner should realize its not about them, but about the members. By saying that, the owner should not force their religious views on their members by way of gym music (depressing music) and bible study classes (who does that at a gym?). Ironically, there is a growing murmurs from other members who have similar concerns as I have. We all have discussed leaving the gym and migrating to Exygon. If I wanted Christian fanatic base gym, I would have stayed at the YMCA on 9th avenue.

As much as they brag about the cardio equipment, close to the 50% of them are needing repairs and scotched taped. Go figure.
