A wonderful community! This space feels so warm and welcoming the moment you walk in, and all of the instructors are fantastic. The owner, Rey, is also very down-to-earth and truly an amazing person. π

Practice Yoga Austin is an incredibly welcoming, accessible, and quality studio. I live in the PNW and do daily yoga through FWFG (Yoga with Adriene) and love her partnerships with instructors from Practice Yoga Austin. During of my recent trips to Austin Iβve taken classes with Rey and Marnie. It is easy to find classes to attend and to reserve a spot. This week I took Align with Rey and it was amazing. He is a thoughtful and clear guide, offering many options for poses and ability levels. I canβt say enough positive things about PYA and FWFG! Such an amazing community and team of yoga and wellness professionals! π

Marnie and Tyler are great! I took Marnieβs class yesterday and there were quite a few of us, me included, who ended up on the waitlist because we made the mistake of waiting too long to sign up. Marnie, being the gem that she is, opened the door and let all of us waitlist peeps practice outside in the lobby as the studio was full to capacity. I definitely felt like that was an action that encompassed what yoga is all about, which is inclusivity. Marnie even made sure to include us in her instruction as she was guiding the class (since we were perpendicular to the yogis in the studio, Marnie made sure to tell us which wall to face when she told the rest of the group to face the wall at the front).
I also love how this studio is comfortable and not over heated. Iβm not a huge fan of studios that are too hot, as I tend to get tired faster. So I like that Practice Yoga studio is never heated to an insane degree. Not to mention itβs clean, comfortable, and just all around a great experience. The studio is also owned by Adriene Mishler, also known on YouTube as Yoga with Adriene. I enjoy following along to her yoga videos on YouTube and itβs no surprise that a studio owned by her is a great one!

Afton is a wonderful teacher, she guides her class with mastery while making it feel like a one on one session. I feel energized, challenged, and more attuned with what is happening in my body. I am grateful for her kindness and healing energy. I will be going back and highly recommend ger classes!

My husband and I recently dropped in for a Sunday morning Functional Vinyasa class with Jenn whilst visiting from the UK. We were made to feel incredibly welcome and really enjoyed the class and overall vibe of the studio more generally. We were able to borrow mats no problem and everything was clearly explained - from where to leave our belongings and how to clean the mats when we were done. If we didn't live thousands of miles away we'd be regulars for sure. You're super lucky to have this wonderful place in your community, Austin residents! :)

My first experience with a yoga class was in the studio and they were so welcoming, accommodating, and encouraging to take my time as a beginner and I couldn't be more appreciative. The rest period at the end was transformational for my personal development and how I want to approach exercise. Thank you for giving me something other than running in place because I had little to no motivation to do that and this was very approachable and therapeutic for me.

I recently moved back to Austin, and decided to track down my favorite yoga teacher Shawn from back in the day, which led me to his class at Practice Yoga. The ambiance of the space and the quality of teachers is excellent overall. It was great to find a studio that has a calm, old school approach and itβs donation based which makes it so much more accessible.
Iβve been practicing yoga for 25 years, and over time itβs gotten harder to find classes that are focused on breath and form, rather then speedy sweaty practices where the teacher has to yell over the music.
I really appreciate that there is a studio in Austin that is a warm, welcoming space to recenter in.

Jenni guided our bachelorette party's yoga and sound bath, and it was such an exceptional experience! The events location at the church is gorgeous and the perfect space for a personalized class. We requested a slow flow, and Jenni absolutely provided an ideal flow for our creaking bones (after some long-ish travel days and flights) with just enough heat cultivated for those craving a bit more sweat and energy. Will definitely be seeking out a drop-in class at the studio the next time I'm in town!!

Thank you to Jenn W. for a fantastic class. I was passing through Austin on a cross-country road-trip. Not only did I leave after the class with a heightened sense of well-being that stayed with me all day, but my chronically stiff, achy hips didn't plague me for the following 2 days.
Thank you!

After not taking a studio class for nearly two years I attended a chair Yoga workshop at Practice today with Tyler. It is so hard to find chair Yoga these days and it is such a beautiful practice. I couldnβt believe how many people were there (and NOT geriatric folks!). @Practice teamβ please make this a regular part of the class schedule. I know Iβn not the only one who would be back much more for it.

You know when youβre in a yoga class and itβs so good you donβt want it to end? I often feel that way after classes at Practice but todayβs chair yoga workshop with Tyler P. was next level. Chair yoga?!?!? I know what youβre thinking. But seriously, my body worked hard and I was able to go deeper into poses than usual. The best part, my back feels like itβs brand new. I canβt remember the last time I was without at least a tinge of lower back pain. My only disappointment is that this was a workshop and not a regular class. Thank you to Practice Yoga and all the teachers who time and again deliver beautiful experiences on my mat.

I highly recommend the vinyasa flow led by Hannah on Fridays @ 1:15p on East 6th St. Hannahβs guidance and gentle encouragement has enabled me to improve my practice. I am stronger and much more balanced than I was last year prior to consistently attending her classes. She is a master of her craft!

Practice Yoga is a great non fussy studio right in the heart of east side. The first amazing thing is that they are not a hot yoga place, which is helpful at times when you're contorting your body in odd shapes will and getting all fired up with your breathing. Secondly they have regular people teaching accessible moves with an emphasis on heart and mind connections. Every session I have practiced has always left me feeling better.
The only drawback is that they have a lot of trainers so if you had a great session one time they might not be on the schedule the next time as there could be a substitute.

Iβve had the privilege of attending a yin and vinyasa flow class here and the atmosphere is a wonderful expression of what the instructors and owners are set to offer for those who wish to practice here. I wish I could make it more often, but living in the burbs makes it a little hard. Anytime I am in the area I check if I can pop in for a class. Love love love! Highly recommend if you value intentional space and instructors.

Sometimes there is a startlingly beautiful synchronicity in life. In my very first class, I experienced feeling very held and soothed in this space with Sam Pullen. I experienced her teaching style as transparent yet solid, strong yet gentle. She has an unfaltering energy, and her cues were easy to follow for my recently grief-addled mind. More than that, she held space in a way that just cannot be faked, with no assertionβa confident, calm guidance.

Beautiful studio! Very passionate and knowledgable instructors. I took an all levels class and didn't feel out of place being more of a beginner. I appreciate that the class wasn't too hot. They had fans going and the thermostat was set to 83 degrees. A lot of other studios in the area are "hot" yoga places and I just can't imagine that being fun in 109 degree July Austin weather. Everyone attending the class seemed super happy to be there. Will definitely return.

Wanted to take a moment to update my previous review. Everything is still true about that singular experience, but I have been many times since, and PYA has become my favorite Austin studio. Every teacher is unique, instruction is specific and thoughtful, classes are challenging and well constructed. So glad I went back!

Left feeling unsettled...maybe I expected too much because of all the 5 star reviews. Thoughtful and careful instruction, beautiful space. Went to the intermediate/advanced Vinyasa class and could not get into a flow. Also, the bowls during savasana were very loud and hurt my ears.

I recently took a zoom yoga class with Cory S. His guidance was calming and strong. He was paying close attention to the alignment of us students and speaking into transitions and to the possibility of going deeper into the poses or seeing what is there if you stay and breathe into the pose. His teaching style worked well over zoom and I highly recommend checking out their online offerings from wherever you are.

Though I no longer live in Austin, I make sure to drop into the studio for a class when I visit Austin. The PYA ethos/instructors are inviting, warming, and homey. Even with sheltering-in-place due to COVID-19, this coziness comes through and through, with all of the online content they are sharing on social media. Thank you PYA and teachers for making yoga so fun, accessible, and familiar! π

This was my first time visiting a studio while traveling. So wonderful. The sliding scale ($10-$20, cash or card) makes it easy to drop in while traveling. The space is very warm (feeling). I took the Motown session...the music was perfect and Lauren was calming and sincere. Local art market and Licha's Cantina down the street made for a lovely morning. Highly recommend.

My all time favorite yoga studio that I've ever been to! The teachers are all amazing and the space is very welcoming. Going to a new yoga studio can be intimidating, but they make everyone feel welcome. There are a variety of levels, but the instructors are always willing to help modify poses to make sure everyone stays safe and practices within their ability without shaming anyone. I love it here so much and wish I could pick it up and bring it back to Seattle with me!

I'm so in love with this studio, it's by far the best in Austin. I've been practicing yoga pretty regularly for a decade now and can really appreciate a) the peaceful vibe of the studio and b) that it caters to all levels / types of yogis. The instructors are all uniquely wonderful in their own way, and there is plenty of variety across the different class offerings. Practice Yoga is calming, challenging, thought-provoking and spiritual -- all the things that a yoga studio should be. I also like that it doesn't feel like a giant franchise (like Wanderlust or Black Swan do), it's just about people of all walks coming together and experiencing the beauty of yoga. Hat's off to Rey and his crew of wonderful teachers for creating this gem in the heart of our little Eastside community!

This was a wonderful and welcoming experience. We were visiting from New York on vacation with some friends. I've been following Yoga with Adriene on youtube for some time now and we serendipitously realized she was holding classes so close to our air bnb! My friends were also beginners and yoga mats, blocks, blankets are all provided. A small donation is suggested (cash or credit) to go towards the teacher ($10-20). I'd suggest getting there about 15 minutes early to get situated and settled and to make sure you get a place in the class. We did a 1 hour class and though it was relaxing, it also was a bit of a workout, especially for beginners! Definitely take the opportunity to do a class here if you're visiting or a local. Thank you Adriene!

6 STARS!!!
I started going to Practice as an option besides Black Swan Yoga. This donation- based yoga practice is high quality and surpasses all expectations for a "donation-based" studio.
The instructors are superb- hands-on and patient, they emphasize the total experience of embracing yoga as a lifestyle, not just a way to relax or exercise. Each class is well-thought out and can be very up-lifting.
And the studio space....WOW so BEAUTIFUL!
Rey, the owner, is passionate about running an awesome welcoming space for all to come practice yoga.
